    Chicken Liver
    Brett B.

Frickin Netflix... Yeah, we noticed this restaurant because of Chris Bianco's episode of ChefsTable Pizza series, and we bookmarked it for a special occasion. We came in with too high an expectation, or maybe we had appropriate expectations that should have been met. Either way, its a one-and-done. The Chicken Liver appetizer was tasty and a delicacy, but the ratio of liver to bread was a bit high for our palettes. The Limoncello Negroni was tasty but stronger than we anticipated. The fettucini al limone had some spice due to the chili flakes. Fresh pasta in a delightful sauce. We did appreciate the NY strip, whatever seasonings the chef used made the crust fantastic. And the single quartered russet potato with cheese shavings and rosemary paired well with the steak, but the price point was well outside the experience. And based on our waitress' reaction, we can safely assume that chef Bianco doesn't often make an appearance. The night could have been saved had the valet followed through with his promise to bring us the Porsche Cayenne instead of our Kia Soul.

Triple digit temperatures make for some perks! Had walk in availability on a Friday night to try another of Chris's restaurant. Had three courses shared between two and was perfect amount and so tasty! Started with their wonderful Little Gem Lives the richness of the Spagettoni Finished it off with the wonderful pork chops

My friend was raving about this place and she took me and other friend here. She definitely wasn't wrong!!! I let her order everything since she knew what was good. We got Cacio e pepe and pork chop. Pork is usually not my top choice but their pork chop was absolutely delicious!!! And their cacio e pepe was probably the best I've ever had. I love that their sauce was not too heavy and it was just right. Tables are nicely spaced and their decor is nice. Service was great as well. Overall a great restaurant!

Pretty decent pasta and was cooked perfectly. The pork chop was decent but a bit too sweet imo.

We had an incredible dinner at Tratto! The server took care of us throughout, as well as a number of people who took plates, brought food and checked on us. We never felt ignored. The place was super cute, yet spacious compared to many trattorias. The kitchen was open to the beautiful bar area. The tables, chairs and decor felt like I was eating at my grandma's house, in the best way possible. It set the tone for a delicious meal. We started with some drinks. I got the Prosecco by the glass, which was perfectly chilled, bubbly and slightly sweet. My companions ordered a New York sour, which came was a little outline of New York in the foam, and the Negroni. We also got the focaccia with whipped feta and honey. The focaccia was so buttery, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. If we weren't ordering a ton of other food, I could just eat that as a meal. For the table, we got three pastas -- ravioli, bucatini amatriana and the cacio e peppe. All pastas were cooked perfectly al dente with perfectly paired sauces. My favorite was the cacio e peppe. The pecorino gave it a creamy yet nutty flavor, perfectly balanced by a little spice from the black pepper. For our protein, we got a small order of the pork chops with apples and a creamy sauce. I didn't have much room from the pastas, but from the bites I had, the pork chops were cooked well, despite being thin, and the sauce added some extra moisture and dimension. It was a tad salty, but it worked with the apples. For desert, we split the sticky toffee pudding. It was dense and sweet and I have nothing bad to say about it! We also ordered a bottle of wine for our meal and were impressed by the selection. There was a good variety Italian reds from light to heavier bodied. Most importantly, a good mix of medium bodied reds to compliment the variety of dishes we ordered.

Love Pizzeria Bianco and Bar Bianco, and now they've got that Chef's Table hype. So I was extra excited to finally try Tratto. The appetizers were great, but the pastas, which is what you come for, were overseasoned and undercooked - definitely under al dente (coming from someone that lived in Italy for a bit). The cacio e pepe was way too salty, and I needed 4 of the tiny glasses of water they serve you to counter 1/2 of it. The fettucine al limone was so greasy and swimming in oil, it made my stomach hurt just looking at it. We could barely taste lemon, the chili flakes were so overpowering (and we love spicy foods). The cocktail was watered down, and everything was overpriced - especially given the area. Terrible location, did not feel safe parking, and did not want to valet out front. Super disappointed.

Celebrating my Dad's birthday and Italian was his choice. Several years ago we had a very nice meal at Tratto and elected to return. Reservations are a must and the stand alone builing is old with a cool/ simple vibe. The old tin ceilings tiles and simple decor add a nice ambiance. It feels like a good Italian meal awaits. We started with an order of garlic focaccia bread with EVOO that was very tasty, especially the top garlicy crust layer. The waiter brought us cool watermelon cubes with aleppo pepper and salt garnish. It was simple, refreshing and great punch in the mouth. We will be stealing this idea. GREAT JOB! The seared chicken livers, fig jam, and rosemary on a grilled piece of sourdough bread was great. The California stone fruit salad with tumeric, mint marinated cucumbers, burrata and pistachios was amazing. Again, another crunchy and delicious tasting, light summer salad that will completely shock you. Each bite has a unique flavor profile and should be on your must have list. The buccatini all amatriciani with guanciale, and pecorino romano was good, but a bit salty. Our final dish was the fettuccine al limone with garlic, butter and parmigiano reggiano. Another good meal, but not memorable. The wait staff was a bit aloof, removing plates while some of us were still eating and a bit pushy to get us paid and out the door. We were early diners and the place was busy but not packed. I think Tratto is one of the better Italian restaurants in the Valley. Creative meals, good portions, different tasty flavors, innovative, but the staff needs to learn to read the table. I will be back and recommend the staff "pump the brakes" and let the patrons enjoy the evening. Tratto is not a dine and dash establishment.

What a nice vibe. Good good, great drinks, good energy. Service is 10/10. Can't complain about anything with this place.

Located in an unappealing area, the restaurant with valet-only parking is a satisfying contrast to its surroundings - from the moment you walk in you're in an oasis of great service and food. Looking forward to going back.

Once you eat in Italy....you become a harsh critic. Is this fair? I have to speak my truth (insert clown emoji) My favorite Italian restaurants should combine a delightful ambiance with simple, quality ingredients. This place does not hit it for us. I had to rest with my experience, and read some other reviews, because I wanted to love this place. I saved my visit for a special occasion, my bday. 1) Ambiance: I think the decor inside is just beautiful . I lived in LA, grew up in CA, and this made me feel like I was home. Gritty outside, lush inside. I love this. 2) Drinks: We sat at the bar. More on the seating later... The Montepulciano was overly fruity, and my husband felt his red was just Meh. 3) Direct server was friendly...more to follow 4) Food: Lemon Pasta w/red chili flakes. Would not order again. I felt the lemon was heavy & reminded me of a Italian lemon desert. My hubs felt same. Crispy potato app was not crispy at all & was reminiscent of the 80's potato skins served in an Irish pub. Kinda mushy. The accompanying aoili was bland. The porchetta sandwich 5/5, fantastic! There were a few things that really turned me off about this place. I never walk in to a restaurant and feel like they are lucky I've chosen the place. Having said that, I do not expect the staff to make me feel like I'm lucky to be there. We arrived just after 5 for HH. A Friday evening. The bar, which has lots of seating was completely empty, and only only one other couple arrived by the time we left. The hostess (she looks like a very tall Wednesday from the Adam's family, and was pretty smug, directed another staff member to take us to the bar and seat us at the corner. We literally were not sitting next to each other, but had the corner of the bar between us. I did not feel like a birthday girl at all :( The bartender proceeds to say that she is so excited that we get to have "this experience." I don't know man...Back in the mid 2000's when Pizzeria Bianco was named the best Pizza in the Nation, I tried several of their locations...I don't get it. I do not know why I expected more for my money at this place. I've read comments about the location...Uber would be the way to go. We railed from midtown & walked...with my gray hair, I felt like I was taking my life in to my hands. Luckily all was good & despite my review, that porchetta sandwich would not be a bad last meal to have in a beautiful place. You can also get this at Pane Bianco, but the HH price here can't be beat.

Excellent service, a Christmas tree upstairs, and no reservations required. Glad they were able to seat us considering we showed up without reservations. Downstairs gets quickly reserved so seats upstairs are where they push overflow patrons. Right outside Flint's doors downstairs there is a staircase which opens up to the upstairs dining area. Service was prompt, and we got our drinks by the time we had our mains decided. I got a glass of red to pair with my steak. My partner had a refreshing cocktail, but it was decent. The highlights of the night were the food. SO MUCH FOOD! And it was TERRIFIC! For starters we got the artichoke hummus. It sounded a bit weird, but all it was was regular hummus with 4 artichoke hearts that were crispy. The artichoke hearts were crisp, but moist, and I could have kept eating those all day. It comes with 1 pita bread. The server told us to order another and we did, turns out we needed it as the pita breads were quite small ($3 +). Sure only 3 bucks, but nickel and dime if you are spending $14 on an app... For mains I got the filet medium rare with a side of regular potatoes. My partner got the salmon skewer with a side of asparagus. Both the dishes were cooked perfectly and they were familiar dishes with a slightly exotic touch to it. Must be the middle eastern part of the restaurant. The steak came with a ganache or accompaniments of middle eastern sides. Can't recall what they were but they were great when I dipped my potatoes in them. It was sour, tart, acidic, kind of like middle eastern soy sauce. The server recommended it to us and we got it. The salmon skewer came with 5 decent sized pieces on it. Great for a small eater or someone who doesn't want their own meal. It too was delicious and had light touches of sauce or smoke on it. The asparagus is a favorite. It was cooked as usual, typical steak side and both me and my partner enjoyed it! For dessert, as it was my partners birthday the server comped the pound cake. While it was delicious, it was definitely the letdown of the meal. It was way too sweet including the layer of cream that it was doused with. The sweat cream wasn't necessary as the pound cake was incredibly sweet itself. Also, the pound cake wasn't soft like normal cake. It was quite dry once you peeled away the creme layer up top. I definitely should have gone with the Chocolate Ganache Tart. But their mess up worked in their favor. I'm definitely coming back for another meal at Flint!

Our waitress Summer came quickly and got our drink order. Very friendly and gave us information on drinks and sizes. We ordered appetizers-lobster mini sandwiches on a delicious brioche type bun. Mini hotdog bites were also good. Service is great there very attentive. My friend had a ceasar salad which he said was good. Whole pieces of romaine. So be prepared to have to slice it up. I had a greek salad. Pieces of tomato and cucumber were huge. Fresh and dressing was good. But did not enjoy having to slice everything up. Did love the nice size feta. Also had to slice up. Service and ambiance were good, but the main course fell short compared to how strong the appetizers started off.
