To start, the parking is bad! Sorry i normally don't start my reviews in a negative way but oh my goodness! I had to loop around 5 times and cars were randomly parked everywhere. My wife and I had a date Night and decided to go bowling and she picked The Mexico Cafe in Temecula. Place is absolutely beautiful and all employees were extremely nice. However, our server Ramon was semi attentive, but was very arrogant and quick each visit. No personality, not very personable whatsoever. She ordered 2 beef tacos w rice n beans, I had steak fajitas. First off, their salsa that come w the chips honestly tastes store bought and is very bland, no joke! Wife's tacos had a lot of meat, just no flavor. Beans and rice were ok she said. My steak Fajitas came out sizzling full of tons of bell peppers, onions and tomatoes, very little steak. Maybe 6 oz total, if that. Steak was delicious, my veggie fajitas were underwhelming. Ok First time here.. sat at the bar. Bartender Rich very nice, knowledgeable and tasty drinks! We ordered fajitas (chicken) and they were great! Margaritas yum! The only odd thing I noticed was the dark hair backwards hat waiter who was smacking his gum while he was working and taking orders. I would expect that in a dive bar-maybe? On our first visit, we came here for Lunch on Cinco de Mayo. Since then, we've kept looking for excuses to stop in. We've taken visiting friends and relatives and last night, we even came with our church group. LOL What Mexico Café excels at, is a festive atmosphere. Along with "Taco Tuesdays" and "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere", life in the post pandemic era seems to have become an excuse to have a party. Right? The food here is nearly perfect and the drinks are pretty good, too. Mind you, they aren't a gourmet Mexican place, looking to serve authentic food from south of the border. Other places do that better. What the Mexico Café does best, is that serves familiar comfort food in a cantina style place which works. Service is attended, dropping off food fresh from the kitchen still sizzling. Nice. We've tried almost everything, from chicken, to beef, to the al pastore... from tacos, to burritos, to enchiladas, to deep fried chimichangas. All were great. See photos. A True Winter Wonderland & Hidden Culinary Gem! We never seen this place before, but we found it on Yelp and it is truly a hidden gem! When you walk in, you are absolutely blown away. It's a winter wonderland inside with all the beautiful decorations! There is plenty of space, making it perfect for large parties and company events. (Plus, there are tons of photo opportunities inside!) We just missed what looked like an incredible buffet, so I'm definitely coming back to try that. The Food: Packed with Flavor! When we first sat down, they served us chips and salsa. If you know me, if the salsa isn't good, I'm ready to leave. We asked if they had another option, and to our surprise, they offer three other flavors! Heads up: there is an additional charge for the different flavors. The hotter chili was so much better (but that's just my preference!). We ordered so much food, and it all tasted amazing. In the 70s I. went to the Mexico Cafe in San Bernardino quite frequently and always had the Deluxe Burrito with pork. So when my son suggested going to the Mexico Cafe in Temecula I was eagerly looking forward to it. I'm sad to say I was very disappointed. The burrito was very salty. Found this gem in Temecula by way of Instagram. I saw a post showcasing their Halloween decor and Sunday Buffet. It looked like a neat place to visit, the reviews on Google were good and the photos of food looked tasty, so we decided to give it a try! So glad we did! What a fun place! We had the all you can eat buffet $34, or $44 including bottomless Mimosas, featuring: Taco bar, Fruit, Device, eggs, bacon, sausage, omelet station, Mexican specialties, burritos, carnitas, machaca,enchiladas, menudo, albondigas, chili rellenos, rice, chorizo, beans, waffles, desserts, crepes, fresh made tortillas and so much more!! On top of that it all tasted incredible. My husband said the Menudo is some of the best he's had and he will drive far for good Menudo. I am more of a carnitas person and even that was amazing! Lacie was our server and she was so friendly and took great care of us! We never had dirty plates on the table longer than a minute or two! Mimosas stayed filled. I honestly was impressed by the entire staff, including the owner we spoke with briefly. We heard many birthday celebrations where they sung and cheered! I wanted ceviche and my husband wanted to take me out for date night. He suggested the Mexican restaurant on the way to the casino before we go to Comedy Night. I had no idea there was a restaurant there and I have lived in Temecula since 1968, obviously I have not paid attention. I ordered ceviche and my husband ordered fish tacos, definitely the worst ceviche I have ever had in my life. The selection of hot salsa was amazing and so was the Chongo desert. The refried beans and chips were also delicious but that was it for our dinner. My husband stated that the fish tacos where I go are much better. These two dishes are at least 4 meals! So let me rave about the food. The carnitas is tender and flavorful. Topping the freshly house made tortillas with beans, rice, guacamole and salsa makes the best carnitas tacos you can imagine. Also, the special came with a side of soup or salad. I had the chicken and rice. Tasty and perfect for a rainy night. The service was great. We were seated quickly. Our server was friendly and attentive. And the food came out fast! While in Temecula, this restaurant came highly recommended so we gave it a try. We went on a Sunday, which is Sunday Brunch only no menu options. Brunch did not include a beverage but they did have a bottomless Mimosa option for $10 which seemed cheap! There were so many options being served at brunch. It was hard to decide where to start! They had fresh crêpes, an omelette bar, waffles, and all your Mexican dish items, but the highlight was the fresh Menudo! Personally, I am not one to order Menudo in a restaurant, but I had to try it and ended up eating two bowls. It was so flavorful and delicious! they also have freshly made corn and flour tortillas and a taco bar. The desserts were also really good with many types to choose from. Staff here or super accommodating and very friendly. Our table never had empty dishes, or drinks, they constantly come by checking on you, which was appreciated. This was our first time at the Mexico Cafe. The second we walked in the door my wife and I were very impressed by the decorations set up for the Halloween holiday. We were immediately greeted and shown to our table where we met our server Lacie. We are regular brunchers and were very impressed by the large set up. They had so many choices to choose from on the buffet, there's no way anyone would be able to try everything in one visit. Our server, Lacie went above and beyond to check in on us, keep our mimosas filled and answer any questions we had for her. She truly looked like she enjoyed her job and it also showed in her attitude with other guests as well. Most of the brunch was self serve except for the enchilada station which was fine with us. We've been to many Mexican restaurant brunches where people serve their own enchiladas and before you know it, it ends up a huge mess. I didn't get the guys name who was serving but his area was kept spotless and I was sure to thank him and tip accordingly. We give the Mexico Cafe 5 stars and highly recommend it. Came here for a friends birthday brunch on a Saturday. The place was easy to find and there was a ton of parking. The outside looks new and the inside was gigantic. Because of that, we were seated right away. The food came out fast and was honestly pretty good. The menu prices were on par with other Mexican restaurants I've been to. We didn't realize they closed at 8, so we called them before going and they said as long as we order before 8p, we are good to go! The sweetest !!! Super disappointed! Came in with 12 coworkers for lunch, there aren't a lot of options in our area so this is our typical go to. However, after this visit, we won't be returning! For starters, our waitress took our order, gave us the lunch menu and then charged us full price for all of our items, not the lunch price. And we were noticing people that arrived after we got there were receiving their food before us! We then inquired about possibly getting another basket of chips. We were given a total of three baskets of chips. The waitress told us that it would be a dollar for each additional basket of chips! Where did the customer service piece go? Celebrated my niece's birthday here. Overall,enjoyed the experience with some minor hiccups such as not having enough silverware's and had to ask for them a couple of time. Other than that, food was pretty good. Ordered their combo taco and chili rellenos with rice and beans. Rice was soft and fluffy not dry and beans were creamy great with their chips. Not the worse food, not the best. The food is just okay. Very basic Mexican food. They do decorate during the holidays (Halloween and Christmas) so it's fun to have parties during those seasons. It's a local staple for sure. Just the food is very inconsistent. The enchiladas are pretty basic, nothing that blows your mind away. I do like the tortillas that come with your meals.
