I went here after a friend had told me it just opened up. If you've ever been to Horn's on the southside, this is it's Starbucks equivalent. All it's coffee, teas, yogurt, and sandwiches are made from locally grown ingredients. The staff, who I am assuming are the owners, are very friendly and did a good job showing me how they standout from the cafe crowd. My coffee was personally prepared in front of me using an interesting drip technique, and it tasted delicious. The sandwich I got for breakfast was also excellent. The pre-prepared food Shane O. seems to be talking about is their breakfast pastries, which I didn't try. It's worth checking out as an alternative to Starbucks, it's a little bit pricier, but the price seems justified. read more

Coffee: pretty good Yogurt parfait: alright; nice choice of toppings Service: pretty terrible. So we stopped in on a Saturday morning- no line and the barista was very friendly and helpful. Then we had to wait 8 minutes for a black tea and 12 minutes for two yogurt parfaits. Would not have been so frustrating if the barista hadn't spent most of this time chatting with the one other customer who came in while we were waiting and basically just ignored preparing our order. If you are looking for a quick coffee stop this place is frustratingly slow. Would not stop again and would not recommend it. Very disappointing as I love blue sky and I know they are owned by the same folks but this place really missed the mark for me. read more

I think really the only place to get coffee in Bethlehem or Allentown. I live in NYC and when u visit my family, I always have to stop here. Love the oat milk iced latte with cinnamon. My sister, who could care less about coffee really, also really loves their drip coffee (which is always INCREDIBLY HOT ). They've also eliminated straws (YAY!!! ). I do wish they were open a little later. I legit try to get there in time when I'm visiting my sister but they close at 4pm . Also, I believe they are pup friendly as I have seen a dog frequent (think it's the owners) and I don't get snarky comments when I come in carrying my 12lb dog. Pick up some pastries from vegan treats and get coffee at The Joint. You won't regret it. read more

subterranean coffee shop. dark inside, neon glow from signs in the window. solid coffee, no soy milk which is probably for the best. friendly service, quiet space, excellent for working. but the place is tiny. five two-tops and a couple bars for seating and that's it. outlets yes. lots of posters for local events. I wouldn't normally work in a place this dark but I'm passing through and short on time. the coffee's good and on a day when I need to hunker down and get some sh*t done, I appreciate the reduced distraction. read more

I used to visit the joint weekly when I lived downtown. They made espresso just like I do, and I was really happy I could walk over there when I didn't feel like making my own. However I've been there a few times in the past month and the place has totally died. The new baristas seemed to be hired just that morning, and took over 20 minutes to prepare 2 lattes, an iced coffee and a triple espresso. My espresso was completely watered down and the lattes and iced coffee had really strange tastes to them. I'm wholly disappointed that this place has taken a dive for the worst and am sad to say I won't be returning or recommending as I have been for years. read more

The only place in the Lehigh Valley that is committed to coffee as a craft. They offer a selection of African and Central/South American beans from Homestead Coffee Roasters in PA, and prepare it with the thoughtfulness of a typical third-wave cafe. The environment is eclectic and comfortable with a friendly and attentive staff. Food is fresh and about as good as could be expected for a small coffee shop. Only sore spot is their hours--they close at 5 most days which means I rarely get a chance to visit. read more

I got latte with lavender syrup, which was delightful with a soothing, sweet aroma of lavender flower. The temperature of coffee was on point. Not too hot, not too lukewarm. It has a good amount of space in both front and back of the store. Also pet friendly, and ran into so many cute puppies while sipping on coffee with my friend. read more

When the barista found out it was our first time she took the time to give us her recommendations and explain the homemade syrups. This place is great. It's tucked away in the Sun Inn courtyard and unless you're looking for it, you will not see it. But, they have an amazing selection of food. I only stopped in for coffee with a friend so I didn't get to try anything but I will be going back for sure. Staff is very knowledgable and can recommend the perfect kind if beverage if you tell them what you like. Also, for my lactose intolerant friends out there - they do have almond milk available and they have a fantastic chai latte that they will make with almond milk for you. The atmosphere is very relaxed, the music selection is excellent and we must have chilled there for about two hours. It's very small so the most comfortable you'll get is in a wooden bistro set but that's ok :) this is the gem of Bethlehem as far as coffee shops go. read more

This is without a doubt, THE BEST COFFEE and SERVICE in downtown Bethlehem. I say this, because not only does the coffee taste great, but the owners select organic and toxin-free ingredients as much as can possibly be. I have a sensitive digestive system and often, other coffee places send me running. Not here. And my boyfriend who only likes lattes, says that their caramel mocha latte made with raw honey is the best he's had. The owners and workers are very personable and friendly, none of the snob & friends only attitudes or childishness that must be endured at the local Wise Bean. If you're feeling lonely or blue and need to socialize without the phoniness, this is the best place to stop. They really care. And the sandwiches are out of this world good and inexpensive to boot. Freshest ingredients and interesting combinations, which I'll update with a few examples later. The marble rye bread is so soft and thick, you will not find it anywhere else on the menu locally. I never feel hungry afterwards and often need to wrap the 2nd half. Whenever I'm hungry and dont' want to cook or am out of food, I wander over here and am treated right every time. Iced coffee can be extremely different from place to place, and so can my body's reaction to it. While I love McDonald's iced coffee and seem to do okay with it, I dislike Starbucks to the nth degree - yecch!. The Wise Bean's coffees always send me running to the toilet and they will not disclose what/where they buy their beans or how they make their coffee, which I find as a hostile attitude when you are explaining severe migraine reactions, which occur as well. I expect a small business to regard their customer health and be open about what they are giving you to put into your body. I love Dunkin Donuts, but it always gives me migraines as well.... The Joint makes an unusual cold brew iced coffee. It tastes wonderful and I get no bad reactions. Ask them about their brewing processes. They're always glad to talk to you here. They've recently backed their closing hours to 6 pm from 9 pm. I do hope that more people will try this shop and make it their usual go-to place for coffee AND sandwiches. You won't be disappointed and you can relax outside the door on the benches in that lovely courtyard behind the Sun Inn. They have a build your own yogurt with an array tasty of toppings.. Just wish they would offer an almond or dairy free yogurt but its not a deal breaker. The Bethlehem bars are a must try!! I most often order a cappuccino, and they are very good here, one of the best in the Lehigh Valley region. Today for the first time had an iced coffee, which was also delicious. Perfect on a hot summer day. Also was able to get the turkey sandwich with tomatoes and cucumbers on toasted whole grain bread. Like other food I've eaten from here in the past (notably a very good quinoa salad), it has well balanced flavors and tastes light and fresh. It is usually rather quiet here, that's fine for me, and I like the music selections from what I'd guess is an internet stream of some sort. Creative artwork all around, and notices of upcoming community events posted, like a coffee shop should. It is exceptionally clean, and the service is friendly and efficient. I am especially grateful because today I arrived after the kitchen had closed, but was still able to get food. Did I mention it's dinner time and I was craving their food?
