Short Rib Ravioli
Juanita Q.

Came here three weeks ago for dinner. Location was great, right across the street from our hotel! The ambience was nice, place was busy but the service was still great. Zahir was our waiter and he was training someone that night. We went in wanting to try a few small dishes and possibly sharing an entree. The appetizers were actually bigger than expected, which made us happy and since we had so many, we did not have room for a regular entree. The menu was really interesting, in a very good way. We tried the crab bisque, which was nice, the smoked brisket in blue cheese sauce, very good, thought the blue cheese might be too strong but it wasn't. We split a Caesar salad, very good. Had the Short Rib Ravioli, really enjoyed this dish. Had the French onion soup with the dumplings, this was nice (a little salty but still good) and we were already getting full. There was definitely a "twist" to all our dishes and all were uniquely different. Our daughter had pizza, which was pretty good and a chocolate ball dessert, brownie and chocolate mousse in it? Kudos to the chef, the staff and even the manager, who stopped by the table and chatted with us. We had a little snafu at the end, when I walked out with the final bill but they got a hold us and were able to resolve it. If in the area, you should try this place ... we would again!

I stopped in for lunch since I have never had their lunch before. I started with the French onion soup which was delicious. Then I had the fish tacos which I also liked. The bar menu looked awesome, but I was still working. Next time! Service was great too.

Yesterday we sat outside. They have very good outdoor heaters when it's a little colder outside.Although we did smell gas coming from the building in which I asked the manager to check to make sure there wasn't a tank leaking. The bathrooms consist of a single separate bathroom for both men and women which there was a line. They are not handicap accessible. They are small rooms with a single toilet and sink. They were clean though. I ordered a meatloaf sandwich with French fries. I also had an Espresso Martini. The meatloaf was pretty good, the bread was toasted perfectly. The fries were pretty tasty as well. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and professional. The lunch menu had options for most but there weren't a ton of options to pick from. The dinner menu had more things to choose. This place is on Broad Street so there's ton of people watching. Also they do get crowded so be prepared to wait. Overall this is definitely a place to check out.

We have been to Twisted Olive several times and have always enjoyed everything we've ordered. The drink menu has many creative cocktails to choose from and never leaves us disappointed. We usually order the french onion soup dumplings or the twisted blue brisket to share, or have soup as an appetizer. The french onion and crab bisque are always great choices! Today I ordered the bacon wrapped pork mignon as my entree - the meat was tender, the spring roll was crispy, and the bok choi was cooked well. My girlfriend ordered the grilled ribeye, it was cooked medium rare as requested and was extremely tender and well-seasoned with a heaping side of garlic mashed potatoes. In the past, we have also ordered the roasted marinated chicken, steak on a stone, ahi tuna, braised lamb shank, super lump crab cake, and skirt steak. All were fantastic!

Grilled Artichokes - A dish featuring grilled artichoke halves topped with a tomato-based sauce, garnished with chopped herbs and served with diced tomatoes and greens.

I visited Twisted Olive as a part of a business dinner. The overall experience was fine, the food was ok and nothing great to mention. The staff (the waiter who helped us) seemed to be in a rush and didn't have a lot of patience when weighing our table. The ambiance was meh, dark and not very appealing. It was an ok experience eating here.

Delicious food and great atmosphere. Zahir was our server and was knowledgeable and attentive. We ordered several apps and soup and salad and took extra care to make sure we had our food at the right pace. The dishes were out of this world. Everything absolutely blew us away.

Kale salad was good.
Esin A.

I was upset they put raisins into Kale salad for lunch today, which is not even an ingredient of this salad. Kale salad did not have shaved pecorino cheese, which IS an ingredient of this salad. They put powdered cheese on salad instead. Waiter said I should have let him know, he would have fixed it. But he didn't check on us until much later, even though there was only one other table with two people for him to wait on. Did not enjoy pierogies as much as last time. Did not care for Whiskey Sour. Fries were good. Crab bisque was okay last time. Friend enjoyed short rib ravioli and fries today and figgy piggy sandwich last time. Other friend's apple pie egg roll with vanilla ice cream was pretty good last time. But she thought pork belly salad was small considering price last time we were here. It's a shame I had negative experience with waiters both times and person making salad and drink this time, because this is a nice restaurant in good location.

Grilled Shrimp Salad - A shrimp salad featuring grilled shrimp, avocado slices, tomato wedges, and sliced red onion on a white plate, with a glass of water nearby.

Service was very good and the food was delicious. Very generous portions. I had a grilled shrimp salad that was so delicious. Plenty of shrimp and a good variety of vegetables. We enjoyed looking at the art by local artists hanging on the walls. Will definitely stop here again.

Three Soup Sampler - A soup sampler featuring two bowls of soup—one creamy and one clear with vegetables—and a baked dish, served on a rectangular plate.
Jody M.

Everything we tried was fabulous! We came to celebrate my moms birthday and the reason she wanted to go was the soup! She had tried some of their soup at a festival earlier this year and loved it. They have a three soup sampler that was great. We also tried the French onion soup dumplings and they were so unique! They need a bit less rosemary but they were still delicious. The twisted olives of their namesake were amazing and served in a martini glass. My pizza was really delicious and everyone enjoyed their meals. We ended with lava cakes and an amazing salted caramel ice that came with another dessert stole the show.

The BEST Manhattan in the Lehigh Valley, I dare say!
Dennise K.

I visited Twisted Olive over the Thanksgiving holiday with some friends. We popped in for a happy hour treat of THE. BEST. EVER. Manhattans. I dare say, the best in the Lehigh Valley. So much so, we were sure to return there before we left. The bartender gal hit it out of the park. It can get a bit busy during prime dinner hours, so make a reservation. We were lucky to score seats at the bar during our visit. Oh, and if you enjoy a Manhattan there, please be sure to tell the bartender that the 'three gals from Rhode Island all purchased the secret ingredient'. :-)

Overall, the bill wasn't too expensive either. However, the ambience is majorly lacking for how cool the historical building looks from outside. That was a big let down after years of seeing this in passing. It feels too much like a 90s coffee shop from Friends / a poorly converted modern bank lobby with the lighting, and the floor layout lacks flow if you're sitting at the bar. It would be an improvement to see historic qualities restored to the interior, rather than bland sheet rocking, no crown molding, etc. Aside from this, we found the music to be a very distracting and random selection of early 2000s dance, pop, EDM, emo, and rock, mixed with the occasional alt rock hit that was (finally) tolerable enough to fade into the background. The room is vacuous because of the high ceilings and hard building materials, so turning the volume down a little and choosing something consistent in tone (perhaps neo soul or just sticking to alt rock) would be beneficial for the overall atmosphere. Bottom line: would return again for the food, but the atmosphere wasn't what we expected and could be improved for a cozier, vintage styled atmosphere (but that's mostly a matter of preference). Friendly service, affordable prices, and good eats go a long way.

We started with tender, well-seasoned beef skewers, crispy buffalo wings over blue cheese, and perfectly cooked roasted cauliflower paired with a tasty tzatziki sauce and pickled onion. For my entree, I ordered the maple-glazed short rib. It was incredibly tender, practically melting in my mouth, and came with creamy sweet potato puree and roasted shallots. My friend ordered the rich, deeply flavorful bolognese. Although she received the small plate portion rather than the entree, it wasn't a major issue as we had more than enough food. There are still many items on the menu I'd like to try, and after such a strong first visit, I'll most certainly be back.

My best friend was visiting from Arizona, and since he'd never experienced this gem before, I couldn't wait to share it with him. From the moment we arrived, the staff's warmth and attentiveness set the tone for a perfect meal. Their friendly recommendations made our celebration of friendship even more memorable. We took their advice and ordered the **Shrimp & Grits** and the **Pork Belly Hash**--both were phenomenal. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, while the grits had an incredible zing that left me wishing I knew the secret ingredient. The pork belly in the hash was generous and rich, and we even added an extra egg so we could each have one--definitely worth it! And then there's the **view**. We were lucky enough to get a corner window seat overlooking the fall foliage and the dramatic incoming storm clouds--it was absolutely breathtaking. Between the food, the view, and the impeccable service, it was an unforgettable dining experience. I regularly drive 30-45 minutes to eat here, and it's always worth every mile. I've never been disappointed. Even my niece still talks about the **burrata**, saying it was the best she's ever had--and that was four years ago! Thyme continues to be one of my favorite spots--consistently excellent, beautifully presented, and always made with care. *Chef's kiss!*

For my entree, I went with the pasta of the day, fettuccine in a garlic-horseradish cream sauce with mushrooms, Swiss chard, and tender beef tips. My friend went with the savory short ribs, served alongside a golden Irish cheddar potato cake, roasted root vegetables, and crispy shallots. I mentioned this and was told that's because many of the same craftsmen worked on this place too. Made me feel smart! If you go. Do yourself a favor and walk around a bit. The food was very tasty I think it is the only restaurant I've been in locally that didn't use excessive amounts of salt. A big plus. The mixed drinks were interesting and reasonably strong. I usually quaff mine down fairly rapidly, savoring the buzz during dinner and still safely driving home after. I had potato soup, which was very good, and Ming had Beet Carpaccio, which was thinly sliced seared root veggies with seasoning. I only had a bite because she wanted it all! Then came dinner. I had the ribeye, which was done so that it was seared one the outside to keep the flavor in and red (while being cooked thru, not an easy feat) and it's was flavored but not overly salty, were unusual. I ordered my usual Worcestershire sauce to clean off the extra salt, but hardly used any. Ming had the crab cake, which was the only negative of the meal. While not overtired or salty, there was a bit of a fishy smell. Not terrible, but off putting. Luckily for me, I don't like crab anyway so I didn't have any. The desserts were good, with a tasty chocolate cake and a peach cobbler that was good but could have had a bit of peach goo to moisten it a bit. The prices were very competitive considering the venue AND the quality of the food. The bar was hopping too because it looked like a great place to hang out with friends!

The outer breading was light and satisfyingly crispy, while the egg and sausage interior was expertly cooked, tender and well seasoned. Cheesy fondue sauce was rich and creamy. Parmesan crisp was a nice, tasty touch. The beer battered Fish and Chips were also yummy. Fish was succulent, perfectly flaky and flavorful, while the Steak Fries were wonderfully crunchy, full of true potato taste.
