F&A Grog House is a trendy American pub located on E 3rd St. in Bethlehem. It's open Monday through Wednesday, 4 PM - 12 AM, Thursday and Friday, 12 PM - 1 AM, Saturday, 11 AM - 1 AM, and Sunday, 11 AM - 12 AM. My friends and I stopped by Thursday night for some drinks and bites to share. We ordered a mix of appetizers, including the cheesesteak egg rolls, breaded mozzarella half moons, housemade G's sauce wings, and the grilled cheese with fries. Everything came out hot and fresh. The wings were the standout, great flavor with G's sauce, which is like a peppery hot sauce. It's not super spicy, but it does have a slight kick. The grilled cheese could've used more cheese, but overall, everything hit the spot. Fun place for a casual night out! We visited on a Saturday afternoon around 1:30pm. Place wasn't busy which was great. We were able to get seats at the bar. I've been here before after my kids hockey games at steel ice. It is definitely a college town bar (I'm in my early 50's). The bartender was prompt and took our drink orders right away. The cook is right in front of you at the bar which is kind of cool. You could tell by speaking with him that he took pride in their menu. He let us sample some of the sauces which was great. I had the special of the day which was a grilled tomato/bacon cheese on Texas toast and a tomato soup with rice, ground beef, onions and peppers. It was fantastic! I also had the Cowboy bites which were jalapeños with cream cheese, bacon and corn - my goodness they were so good! My bro had the "what came first". Fried chicken sandwich with a fried egg and bacon. It came with fries and he said it was really good. My husband had Tri-tip cheese steak with no mushrooms. He said it was delicious. We were there on our own time without a schedule, so we didn't mind having to wait for our bartender. It started getting busy while we were there so the vibe was pretty cool. Had a great time here with some friends, this past Sunday after hitting up Railroad Records, a few blocks away. Service was friendly and quick, and the food was great. I'm not a fancy beer drinker, so I ordered Michelob Ultra, but my friends were greatly pleased by the large selection of IPA, craft beers, all that kinda stuff. I ordered the fried mozzarella and pierogies, and both were excellent. They were temporarily out of their pretzel bites, but I've heard the pretzel bites are excellent, so I'll be ordering those next time I'm here. Cool atmosphere, too. We have been here a few times now and it's been the same each time that I've learned what to expect and can pass it along to anyone who wants to check it out. You walk in, you are at the bar area,But, there is a hostess stand there if you are interested in grabbing a booth to order food. Which is what we have always done and is what we will now never do again because service from this 1 particular shorter waitress is awful. After she dropped our food to the table we didn't see her for an hour despite trying our best to flag her down and asking the other waitress to get her for us so we could have our bill. The owner was working harder than this waitress collecting our empty dishes,asked us if we needed anything, cleaning tables( our waitress removed a used empty glass when she seated us) and I have no clue where she went or what she was doing that while time that she failed to see if everything was okay, we needed anything/refills or were ready to the check. Instead, since my daughter is a regular, she gave us a tip to sit at the bar and order food. Service is much better. Every time we've gone there the food has always been good. This time I got a chicken philly cheesesteak and it was delicious also! Can't say much about the crowd. It's definitely a spot for the younger groups to hang out since the college is so close. The bad thing about that is that they don't respect you at your booth if you are in one just for food. They stand right in front of your table in groups talking and you have zero privacy and it's actually a bit suffocating. It would have been fine for me and the boys, but we went there after The Nutcracker with my wife and MiL. That's my fault. Them having virtually no accessible seating, being out of multiple things, and just generally being mid food-wise is their fault. Shoutout to our server Sydney who was new but did a fantastic job checking in on us regularly and being very friendly and getting all our orders right. For a bar - there is a large alcohol selection and mixed drinks. I didn't find their mixed drinks that great, but it wasn't an absurd price so I didn't mind trying different ones. Their happy hour isn't a huge discount but with the large variety you're bound to find something you like. As for food, I would not recommend. It's bar food so you wouldn't expect anything fantastic, and it just overall is mediocre. At each table there is a jenga set which is nice but the tables are really warped so I guess it's an added challenge or just annoying. There's also a shuffleboard that's open to play but I didn't get a chance to utilize. The booths don't accommodate for larger parties but you can grab some of the stools if needed. This was my third time here- first time during the day and eating. Their wings were amazing. I also got fried pickles. They came out a little cold but still decent. As for drinks i ordered the orange refresher and it was okay just not what i had pictured in my mind. Service was great and both bar tenders were really on top of things. Came to celebrate my hubby's work anniversary and decided to stop here for a quick bite. Delicious food and large drink selection - whether your a beer lover or a fan of cocktails. Service was quick and attentive. This is a pretty big establishment - lots of different areas to sit. We were contemplating sitting outside on the back patio but it wasn't warm enough. We decided to order the fried pickles as an appetizer and were happy we did. The sauce it came with was delicious. My hubby enjoys the wings here so he ordered the boneless wings with the Korean BBQ sauce. Its quite spicy (even our waitress warned us) but it wasn't overwhelmingly spicy. They were delicious. I ordered the pork roll sandwich. Simple and delicious - basically a pork roll, egg and cheese minus the egg. As we were leaving people were starting to arrive for trivia. If you're ever looking for something to do during the week they seem to have a bunch of weekly events and specials. I've come during the weekend for drinks and have always left pleased. With my hunger finally starting to kick in around 10p on a Wednesday night, I almost resolved to settle on fast food. I was in the mood for a drink to help me sleep as well, so my search took me to this pub. The staff was very friendly and my bartender was very attentive. I ordered the Oktoberfest pierogies and a few drinks (El Diablo, Monthly grog special, and a pumpkin ale with a shot of whiskey). Everything was pretty great. The grog was...surprising at first, but after a couple of gulps, I got used to it. I sat at the bar and there was plenty of seating in both rooms. This felt like the kind of bar you could go to regularly and have a great social experience each time. F&A is a great place for pub fare. Great burgers and handhelds. They even have homemade pierogis! If you are a beer lover, you will appreciate their 52 beers they have on tap. Wonderful selection. And the staff is always so accommodating and attentive. They are busy but they are thorough. This is the spot to go during the afternoon, evening, and night ! All of their food is phenomenal, the kitchen staff goes above and beyond to make sure your meal is perfect. The staff are extremely personable, nice, funny, and energetic. I've spoken to them when they were there to enjoy themselves as guests and they are even more incredible!! Two updated pool tables, touch tunes, great selection of beer (definitely over 20 rotating drafts), and if you get a Guinness, expect a four leaf clover staring up at you !!! Great bar, although during the school year you'll find a lot of college kids with it being so close to Lehigh U. Excellent food, good vibes, pool tables, etc. It's standard bar food, but they do it very well. Nothing fancy, just great place to hang out with friends and have a few drinks. The food was a little bit on the pricey side for what we got, but it was still piping hot and everything tasted pretty good. Our server was "new" and "still learning", but evidently hadn't "learned" she should check in on the one table she had in the place more than once. But the worst was yet to come. When she finally brought our check, I saw I had been charged FIVE DOLLARS for the *rocks* in my double Jack on the rocks! And to be clear, it wasn't a fancy crystal clear ice sphere, or a three inch cube, it was the same ice everyone else had in their sodas... for free. I then overheard the bartender/manager trying to rationalize the extra charge to our server by essentially explaining how 2+2=5 in her mind. Thankfully it was taken off in the end, but it doesn't change the shyster BS that was attempted. Once trust is lost, it's gone. Won't be back. read more

For a place that's indicated good for kids and features a kids menu, it's hard to recommend this as a family establishment based on our experience. Food took an hour and forty five minutes to arrive. Two of our orders were wrong. One order arrived cold. It's bar food so we're weren't expecting much but we will not be returning, with or without the kids. read more

BEST BURGER EVER! I had lunch here two months ago and had the F&A burger. It was amazing. Perfectly cooked, just the right size and delicious. I went back today to make sure it wasn't a fluke. I asked the personable server what he liked and he recommended the Blackened Bacon Bleu with an off-menu addition of the garlic wing sauce. Totally delicious and perfectly done again. Excellent side dish of pierogi, too. I can't drink at lunch so I am looking forward to getting a burger and brew for dinner some time soon. read more

I'm an out-of-town tourist visiting family, and while I do give this place two stars for how tasty the signature lavender gin cocktail was, I minus three for the hospitality... after being there for a few hours, last call was announced at 12:58 a.m. They close at 1, which surprised me - not knowing others' experiences in stating this, but the local bars of TX announce last call anywhere from 15-30 min. before they get aggressive with kicking guests out. I use "aggressive", as that was how the staff member acted towards our group: myself, and four other women (two of which are sober and non-drinkers). Ten minutes after last call was announced, a female staff member came over and said condescendingly, "Ladies if you're not drinking you need to leave." Three out of the five of us had drinks, so I went up to her and asked if we could stay until we're finished, as about 20 people and a bridal shower party were still there and drinking. She immediately began shouting at me and waving her arms, yelling "You were over-served!" and "You need to leave!" at which point she called security to escort us out. Look - I was a server and bartender at Red Robin of all godforsaken places for four years, and you just don't treat customers like that - regardless of you've "had a hard night" like the poor, sympathetic bouncer told me as he led us out. A word of advice is to skip this place if you'd like satisfactory customer service. read more
