They seem to try their best to have a cider from PA on rotation. They have a vinyl night (as in LPs) and the place is super cozy on a corner where there is a lot of parking available. The most amazing thing to me was hearing the bartender casually talking to someone and mentioning that all of their beer was gluten-reduced. Okay, what's that all about? Asking for further details, they use an enzyme to effectively drop the gluten out of the beer. It can't be called gluten-free because it comes from a gluten source. However, the amount of gluten left in the beer seems to fall below the standards for gulten content making it effectively gluten-free. Yeah, no promises from me -- or them, I believe, on that matter. Flew into the Lehigh Valley to visit family and Bonn Place was recommended as 'this will be your new favorite brewery'. Staff: 10/10. Our first visit to Bonn was moderately busy, but the staff took the time to answer questions, was friendly and knowledgeable, and was very attentive. Our second visit was slammed busy with a line practically out the door. I honestly didn't notice a difference or drop in service. Absolute all-stars. Beer: this place is a goldmine of English pub styles with outstanding milds and bitters. We worked our way through the tap list and couldn't find a beer that wasn't great. Parking: located next to two large parking lots (pay). Well lit. Food: none. Fuel up before you go. Atmosphere: small, quaint, but comfortable and welcoming. On our first visit, another patron at the bar told us, "I envy you...I wish I could experience this place again for the first time." It's that kind of place. You just click with the vibe and it feels good. On both visits here, we didn't want to leave. Overall: I brewed my first beer 25 years ago. I'm a certified beer judge. I've lived all over the US and traveled extensively. Not everyone is going to instantly click with this place, or fall in love with their style. I did, and I have. Bonn Place is in my top 20 favorite breweries in the US. Give them a try. read more

We were out celebrating in PA and hitting up local breweries. This was our 3rd brewery stop, and probably my least favorite. They card you right at the door here, so it already seemed like a college drinking spot. It's a smaller area inside with not much seating. Very packed, and I noticed that 85% of the people in here were college kids. And, I also noticed a distinct segregation from the older people and younger people. All the old people were on the back wall near bathrooms, taking up maybe 10% of the space. So, drinking options. I just wanted something light. Did the Mooey and wasn't a fan. Probably bc an older guy recommended it. I then did the apple pie cider in a can, and enjoyed that. At that point, we were headed out so didn't get a chance to try anything else. The cider I had wanted they were out of. The main perk of this place for me was the heavy rotation of 70s hits they played. Other than that, just not my scene. read more

So unpopular opinion -- these guys are just okay. Small venue, which is fine, but I came here with high expectations for their beer. I knew they leaned hard on traditional styles (definitely no smoothie sours here), but even their Pilsner was not great. All I got was vinegar. Each beer I tried left a lot to be desired. Their saison was for sure a sour and while the style could go that way, it wasn't mentioned on the menu. Service was fine. It's bar service only and parking was easy. Street mostly, but we found a spot to the right of the brewery that's free on Sundays. Overall, not bad, but with Lost Tavern down the road, I'd rather go there. read more

The absolute best brewery in PA, not to mention one of my absolute favorite breweries in the states. Totally unexpected yet it feels so right. These are loved/cared for beers for those that love and care for beers. Absolutely crushable brews all the way to slow-appreciation-sippers. And without a doubth, the people there are even better than the brews. Inviting and friendly, yet professional and prompt. Exactly what you'd expect at a hospitality institution. This place is hop-ping! Came in on a Saturday and it was packed. The bartender told us that they had two parties that stopped in. It was great fun. Lots of cool and interesting craft beer choices. I had a fruity one that was quite good and easily drinkable. Happy hour is from 4:07 to 5:33. $1 off pint beers. I asked what the story was behind the odd hours and they told me "Wish there was one". No growler refills during happy hour though. But since we didn't know - they were super nice and did it for us. I also noticed on their website that if you are coming on a party bus they ask you to notify them at least a week ahead of time and that they be one of the first stops. read more

Bonn Place felt a little more like a bar to me than a brewery, but it is definitely a fun place nonetheless. It has a bar-like arrangement in a semi-urban location. Apparently there is a happy hour during the week, which I caught. It's the first brewery I'd visited with happy hour specials. The prices of their beers were lower than what I am used to in New Jersey. All the different types of beers I tried were excellent and mature tasting. They don't have a lot of IPA's, but they still have a wide selection of others. All the other patrons were friendly with me. That makes a huge difference. I would hang out there frequently if I lived locally. The bartenders were very busy and weren't as friendly, but they did their job efficiently. Overall, Bonn Place Brewing Company is a fun place to visit with excellent beer. read more

This is a nondescript tiny place on the corner, and parking kinda sucks. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and I was actually wondering if it was open, but we walked inside, and wham, it's packed. We managed to squeeze in at the end of the bar right in front of the taps. I was in the splash zone and got splattered by a few beers being filled. A plexiglass partition may be a good consideration. Service fast, vibe was decent, beers were good, appropriately priced, but not fabulous in any way. I would return, though. They seem to specialize in English styles, with several bitters on nitro. Pretty cool. I tried their IPA (can't remember the name) and it was ok; didn't separate itself from the crowd, which is admittedly large these days. Had their Belgian strong dark ale, and it looked more like a stout in the glass. Little bit of short lived head, but black like a stout. Not much of the typical yeasty esters associated with Belgian dark ales, and tasted like a winter warmer, not a quad. It wasn't bad at all, but didn't really drink like a BSDA. Went to this brewery on a Wednesday night. Just got into town from Colorado after driving from philly. Right when we walked in we were welcomed. It's a small place but very cozy. There was 5 of us and we had a few of the beers. They were all delicious. The owners are great we were able to talk to them about where we were from and about beer. The Double Pale Ale was great! This bar is highly regarded by many of my associates. I recently had the pleasure of visiting not once, but twice in a single weekend with a smattering of associates. For a brief period of time during my second visit, I donned two pairs of sunglasses. Great little nano brewery tucked in an alley on the South Side. Chill vibe inside & outdoor seating in back along Greenway is welcome. They were good with Covid protocols & didn't have the "why you wearing a mask still" attitude some other area breweries display. I like that they are trying to avoid the "we have 10 different IPAs and one undrinkable double imperial smoked molasses fudgsicle stout" thing. Core lineup focused on traditional English ales. Flagship beer a great little Ordinary Bitter which is a really hard to find style that's just great for session drinking - and a nice alternative to the usual "session IPA" most breweries have as their "table beer" option. They also do a dark mild at times which is an even rarer find in the U.S. Also had a black lager AKA schwarzbier which was quite nice and not too heavy on the chocolate/coffee profile, which was a nice change from what I often find at breweries attempting the style & overdoing it on the malts. They had a wild ale using local cherries they age in their own foudre available in 750ml bottles. Quite nice & great with food. All around, worth a stop if you are looking for a change of pace brewery in the Valley. read more

Had their flagship English ale. I'm used to drinking ipas and tart shakes as of late. It was a refreshing change of pace to try something that is a classic and yummy at a brewery. My partner had the ipa and wasn't as impressed as the ale. I am not too sure what else is there on the menu- not sure if they are creative w their brews or if they stick with similar styles. I was excited to try Bonn Place as it looked like a fun, laid back brewery, and at a glance, the reviews seemed excellent. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The beer was mediocre, but what left a bitter taste in my mouth was how rude and disrespectful the owner and his staff were. If you are not a regular, you are treated like an outsider. As a customer, I will not lose sleep over this, I will simply not return to this establishment. However, if I were the business owner I would be extremely embarrassed by your actions toward people who are undeserving of this type of treatment. I recommend trying some other great local breweries before coming here. read more

Discovered Bonn Place a while back and it has since become my favorite brewery. Friendly knowledgeable staff and amazing beer, some of which are brewed with local ingredients from the area and Pa.
