I'm not much of a beer drinker, but I came here for the food. The menu consists of appetizers like Cheesesteak Eggrolls and Fried Brussel Sprouts, tots, burgers, sandwiches, quesadillas, salads, and grain bowls. My friend and I ordered the Cheesesteak Eggrolls, a Bavarian Pretzel, Nashville Bone-In Wings, and a Whiskey Burger with Hand Cut Fries. Everything was delicious! An old house in the middle of a neighborhood. Parking at building and street. Very busy Saturday afternoon but they take reservations and we had a nice table. They have bar seating, high tops and regular dining tables. The beers are delicious and the food hot and nice portions and prices. Husband had a grilled cheese with tomato and bacon with hand cut fries! I enjoyed the crispy chicken wings and side salad. Great service although I didn't get her name. I personally believe McCall is brewing the best beer in the Lehigh Valley right now. Their restaurant in Allentown is so good. We like to come here every so often to try the newer beers. All of the wait staff and bartenders are welcoming, friendly, and are helpful in recommending beer or food if you're stuck on what to get. It's a fun place to sit and hang for a while without having a bar feel to it nor is it pretentious like some breweries. Highly recommend! read more

We were on our way home from a day of snowboarding and searched local breweries that lined up with the drive home. Stumbled across McCalls and decided to give it a shot as it had good reviews. It was very quiet around 530 and we sat at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and welcoming. There was a man(local) I'm guessing sitting by himself that wouldn't stop talking and kinda took all the bartender's attention from the rest of the people that were there. We were never checked on regarding how things were and had to flag them down for the check. There were 3 people behind the bar all engaging the same guy. Me and my wife orders the raspberry stout on nitro. Was ok, but nothing worth writing home about. Certainly not memorable. I went for a second round, although hesitant and got the imperial ipa(Barbara stratastand). This one was slightly better, but again, nothing to write home about. Too me, it didn't feel "imperial." I got the peach smash burger and my wife got the cheese steak. Food came very quickly. Burger, like the beers, was ok, but underwhelming. I couldn't taste the hot honey that was advertised and burger was on basic potato rolls that you get at the grocery store. The cheesesteak, my wife said, had a good taste as far as the meat went, but she would have preferred it with American cheese vs the cheese sauce they put on it. Also, the cheese sauce would have been better if it was mixed throughout the steak vs just dumped on top. Overall it was ok. Wouldn't go out of my way for this place. As I am not from the area, I couldn't compare it to anything around there, but I think their biggest selling point is that they have a kitchen vs a lot of the other breweries in the area that seem to be just a tap room. McCalls is an OK choice if you are in the area and don't set your expectations too high. read more

The menu sounded really enticing, and 4 of our party got burgers that were overcooked and dry, kind of the opposite of what you'd expect with a smash burger. Others food and our perogies for an app were a bit under-seasoned but the big pretzel was solid. Not sure if the kitchen has an off night since most of the other reviews were glowing and ultimately brought us here when traveling through the area. read more

Rotating beer selection that always has something for every palate (haven't had a Hittin Dingers recipe that I didn't like). Last Saturday, the family had dinner at McCall's. We started with some apps: pierogies, cheesesteak egg rolls, and boneless wings. Loved the pierogies and egg rolls. Was not a fan of their Nashville hot flavoring on the wings. Something was off. For dinner, I had the burger and side salad. The burger was cooked perfectly and the toppings were delicious. The side salad was your typical salad. The raspberry vinaigrette dressing was delicious. I only had one beer and I cannot remember the name, but it was on the lighter side and I liked the flavor. McCall Brewing Collective has developed an array of brews with a distinct and unique flavor which warrant broader exposure. I only write reviews on Yelp when I am genuinely impressed or offended by the product or services received. This establishment undoubtedly warrants more fanfare. Honestly screw it. I rarely give five stars, but I absolutely loved my visit here. My gf took me on a little brew tour for my bday weekend (stopped at Hijinx first), and I had been so excited to visit this place since they first opened! (Yes she got bonus points). We spoke with one of the owners for a little, and her excitement and pride over the establishment was just beaming off of her. It really sets the vibe and ambiance of the visit when you can connect with someone like that. I'm so happy that despite everything going on they're doing so well. But alas.. on to the goods of the visit. The beers were solid! A great NE IPA. Nothing crazy about it, just a solid definition of what one should be and what is expected. Their fruit beer was also tasty, not too strong on the fruit flavor or the tang though, which is what I was hoping for as a sour fan. But I enjoyed it nonetheless. Their food is also top notch and simple. Idk how but this was the best pulled pork quesadilla I've ever had. The bbq sauce was spot on, the cheese perfect, and I don't know how something so simple just sits so memorably in my cranium. Their Mac and cheese is well. Not Mac and cheese. But it's delicious it's kind of pizza flavored soup but somehow it worked. So although I enjoyed it a lot, if I was looking for a solid example of Mac and cheese it wouldn't be my first choice. I am so greatful to the staff here especially Lizzie. They were soo accommodating and understanding. We came here with my mostly deaf dad and were able to sit us outside and turned off the music so he could hear us. Having flown from the other side of the country to spend time with him and being able to have a conversation over a meal was so refreshing while watching him devour his burger as we have been trying to have him eat more made us all happy. We all truly enjoyed our meals and beer. We drove out of our way to come here and know we will definitely return. My husband I went for the first time tonight and made a reservation for the patio in advance, which is a definite must on the weekends. They have propane heaters on the patio and shades to block out the wind so it was pretty comfortable on this 64 degree night. We sampled every beer and some were great, others were ok but all were definitely drinkable. We had a chicken sandwich and fries and while the fries were good in the beginning they definitely left an aftertaste (not sure what they added to the fresh cut fries) but it sort of messed with appreciating the rest of the beer flavors. Our first trip to McCall to eat--but had previously picked up beer on opening weekend. My wife and I were so excited by the description of the Whiskey Burger that we got the same thing! It was delicious and definitely one of the best burgers we've had in the valley. The beer menus seems to be continuously rotating, which is great...I'm definitely partial to the Lehigh IPA. My wife really like the Wild Wooder NEIPA, and after talking about their "Cinna Blonde" our waitress brought me a sample. It was surprisingly refreshing! (I'm not a huge cinnamon fan). Inside was sparkling clean. Outside was a handful of tables on the porch, spaced comfortably. They already have heat lamps in place so they can extend the outdoor dining period. Last tip: If it's a weekend--your gonna wanna hit up Open Table for a reservation! read more

This review is just for the beer that I had not the food. We came in at 4 on a Saturday to find the place packed. The only tables available were on the covered patio and we just wanted a beer and some votes of food so we said OK. The patio left something to be desired with the leaking roof while it rained and the heaters that didn't want to work. I had a stout that's as OK but not great - I drink stouts often and try them a lot. I felt the flavor wasn't well balanced. The server mentioned a milk stout but then said the keg was kicked and I'd really like to try the milk stout some day. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their beers and we enjoyed conversation and then left. We didn't ordered any apps because it was cold and the patio was cramped with 4 adults and 1 baby at a table with a narrow passageway next to it for the family seated behind us. Came here for few beers and mid-afternoon snacks with wife and kids. They had doors open to help move air through for those sitting inside and had outside seating available, which was what are reservation was for. Staff was very friendly and promptly seated us. For food we got the mac&cheese which was good and very cheese. You could tell it was not some processed item but from scratch. The wings were solid but nothing to write home about. Their french fries were very good. The best item though was the cheese steak egg rolls which were amazing. Now for the beer. They have good selection of their own beers and few guest taps to include a local cidery. I had first the Stroop Kid Imperial Stroopwafel Stout (Pastry Stout) which had wonderful chocolate and caramel notes with cinnamon and raisin sneaking through. Very good pastry stout. Next one I had was the Hidden Liberty an Imperial IPA. This had nice floral notes with slight hints of citrus. Wonderful pine notes came through as well. A very well round Imperial IPA. read more

It pains me to write this review. We discovered this gem as soon as COVID restrictions were lifted in PA and have been there countless times since. The food was fantastic, the beer is some of the best anywhere, and the service was on point. Since opening the 2nd location the beer is still fantastic but the food is sub par at best and the service questionable. Our last three visits have been questionable...3 times ago burgers ordered medium came well with holes through the middle and we wrote it off to growing pains. 2 times ago we were given the wrong orders and told oops all quesidillas look the same as they table swapped food. This time they were out of numerous items including croutons but could make a grilled cheese...aren't croutons toasted bread? My chicken sandwich was slit cut like somebody was mid-prep on strips or boneless wings and forgot what they were doing...it was overcooked, dried, and tasted like cooking oil. We have (or had) our three favorite restaurants all on the same strip. Social Still, Zest, and McCalls. McCalls has been reduced from a highly recommended destination to maybe a neighborhood bar. It's a shame to see so much pride in a product and effort to build a brand get pushed to the wayside. I will still stop in for a little willie or wild wooder...maybe a cinnablonde or roast malone as long as I can. Those wonderful beverages will go home to my grill where I can cook a much better meal than what I have overpaid for here recently. read more

Based off 1 visit. We sampled 4 beers and 2-3 mixed drinks, everything was really good. Taco app was amazing. Burgers and sandwiches were all really good too. Allentown - Outdoor seating is very limited and a little cramped but acceptable enough to not affect our enjoyment of everything else. We went to McCall Collective for dinner and drinks. We sat outside on the porch and enjoyed some tasty beers and great food. We started with the soft pretzel, which was huge and comes with hot honey, beer cheese dip, and homemade mustard. The pretzel FAR EXCEEDED our expectations. It was super hot and fresh with really flavorful dips. Young and old loved it. We had salads, burgers, a kids quesadilla and chicken nuggets. Everything was really good! The beers were flavorful and came out in large frosty mugs. The server was awesome and the menu is digital via a QR code. Inside is very clean and inviting. My wife and I decided to come back here after having a bad experience with the quality of the food a few months ago. This time, we had a better experience overall, so I'm bumping the 2 stars up to 3. The food and beer were decent, and the prices werent bad. The service was a little on the slow side. Overall, seems like a pretty average brew-pub. The Whiskey Burger is why we go, but tonight my husband switched it up and got the BTOL burger and it was excellent. I don't know why these burgers are so good.
