We had dinner at Thyme in Easton last night and overall it was a really great experience. We sat on the rooftop next to the fireplace with overhead heaters overlooking the Delaware River and the bridge into New Jersey, and honestly the atmosphere alone was worth the visit. The view of Easton at dusk was absolutely beautiful. We started with the Crispy Chicken Dumplings, and they were fantastic. Perfectly crispy without being greasy, packed with flavor, and balanced really well with the slaw underneath. We also had the Burrata with peaches, honey, crispy pancetta, and crostini, and it was one of the highlights of the meal. Creamy, salty, sweet, crispy... just a really well-balanced dish. I had the Thyme Old Fashioned, which was one of the better Old Fashioneds I've had in a while. Simple, balanced, and well made. For dinner I had the Short Rib and it was excellent: rich, tender, comforting, and exactly what you want from a dish like that. We finished with the churros, which were the perfect ending. Service was definitely on the slower side, but our server was very nice and the overall vibe made it easy to relax and enjoy the experience instead of feeling rushed. Thyme feels upscale without being pretentious, which is hard to pull off well. Great food, amazing rooftop atmosphere, solid cocktails, and a memorable night overall. Thyme Rooftop Grille is an upscale New American restaurant located on Northampton Street in Easton. It's open Tuesday through Thursday from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM, Friday until 10:00 PM, Saturday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Sunday from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM. I'd heard mixed reviews going in, but aside from the parking, there wasn't a single thing to complain about. I kicked things off with crispy chicken dumplings, perfectly fried and served with a sweet-and-salty soy yuzu sauce, along with rich, pillowy pumpkin gnocchi. For my entree, I went with the pasta of the day, fettuccine in a garlic-horseradish cream sauce with mushrooms, Swiss chard, and tender beef tips. My friend went with the savory short ribs, served alongside a golden Irish cheddar potato cake, roasted root vegetables, and crispy shallots. We wrapped things up with the salted caramel apple cheesecake and tiramisu for a sweet finish. Went to Thyme with friends and wives in Easton, PA. Very nice restaurant on the top floor of a seven story building overlooking the Delaware river, so the view was outstanding. The vibe was younger professional with a slick decor. Service was outstanding. Drinks were very good. Dinner was very good as well, I had the salmon and my wife had the short ribs, both were well prepared, although the salmon was not a very big portion. Overall, a very nice experience, a bit expensive but the view was worth it. The only draw back is that it is in Easton and parking is a nightmare, we ended up walking several blocks. read more

My wife brought me here for my birthday dinner. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was very nice. There is valet parking, since parking is very limited in this area. Take the elevator to the top floor for a unique experience. Stopped in here after the wine train day with girlfriends. We ordered cocktails and appetizers. The view is WONDERFUL. I had probably the most interesting appetizer that I have ever eaten: crispy olives with lemon curd and shortbread. So tasty! However, you have to eat all 3 components together. This place on the 7th(?) floor has great views of the rivers during the day and at night the bridges are illuminated which makes for a great place to dine if you can get a table with a view. I've been multiple times and the staff are always super friendly. The cocktails and appetizers are very good but we've always felt the entrees were underwhelming. Recently went for cocktails and a charcuterie at the bar for happy hour before having dinner somewhere else and had a great time. I think that will be our routine now! read more

My family and I went to Thyme to celebrate birthdays. The restaurant is clean and elegant, with amazing views of the riverfront. We started with crispy chicken dumplings and spring rolls. My best friend was visiting from Arizona, and since he'd never experienced this gem before, I couldn't wait to share it with him. We took their advice and ordered the **Shrimp & Grits** and the **Pork Belly Hash**--both were phenomenal. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, while the grits had an incredible zing that left me wishing I knew the secret ingredient. The pork belly in the hash was generous and rich, and we even added an extra egg so we could each have one--definitely worth it! And then there's the **view**. Where to begin it was Mother's Day. Reservation 2 weeks in advance an we got 1 of of 3 tables with no view. They had no specials because for some reason Mother's Day had no specials, and they ran out of Halibut, one of the only 5 entries. It was 630. They had a limited wait staff so our waiter was stretched, nice guy but wasn't prepared for a busy night. Waited for a long time for our drinks and the appetizer then the main course came out very fast with little space. Dinner was ok but not worth the price. No plan to go back. My wife and I just had brunch at the restaurant. Dave our waiter was spectacular as well as the other helpers Food was excellent and prices quite reasonable. The only issue I had an asked several times to see the manager but she never responded after numerous requests from Dave and other staff. All I wanted to do was tell her how great a job the staff did and how excited we were to come back again since we are local. But she decided to ghost us. Why is anyone guess and we gave her plenty of time to come see us. Needless to say we will definitely come back but never ever want to meet this terrible manager. All in all not a bad experience but you better bring your wallet or trade in your first born or roll up your sleeves to dishes, LOL. They do have limited vegetarian options. First off, this place is absolutely beautiful--modern, clean, and super aesthetically pleasing. The views of the river and Downtown Easton make it even better. The service was on point--our server was friendly, super attentive, and always checking in, which made the experience even better. Now the food--good, but not amazing. We started with the Crab & Mango Spring Rolls and Dumplings, both solid, but the spring rolls were definitely my favorite. For entrees, we got the Filet Mignon (with mashed potatoes and asparagus) and the Salmon (with udon noodles). The steak was cooked well, and the salmon was good, but the udon was a little salty--not a deal breaker, just something to note. Girls dinner last night. Vibe wise I was a little underwhelmed! The rooftop concept is just that it sits high on corner building. There's no outside area (which I thought there was). However, once we got settled I was happy. Espresso martinis were frothy and smooth! Tuna tartare was good - didn't come with any chips or anything so ehh. But a little spicy and fresh. Short rib was great! Tender and fell apart! Salmon was cooked to order and fresh! Pasta special was eh. Not amazing but not bad. Nice portion just not amazing. We made it to Thyme! I was able to get a reservation for a Saturday night dinner and Thyme did not disappoint. We lucked out and got a primo spot right in front of the building. Parking was $3 on street or $5 for valet. The atmosphere was date night cozy and classy and every table had this cool contemporary-style light that helped with the mood. The cocktails we had were very good and I am looking forward to trying more of them. We started with the butter board which was fantastic and we could have licked the plate if it would be deemed socially appropriate. That seemed to be a theme for all of the the food we ordered. Our salads were very fresh tasting. I ordered the pork chop with a burnt onion puree on the plate. My wife had the salmon. Both were cooked to perfection. We ordered two desserts and split them. All in all, everything was well worth it. You aren't going home with leftovers One thing that shows their level of customer service is the hostess will call valet for you when you leave to make sure your car is around front for you when you get off the elevator. Thyme We were unable to get reservations and took a chance to sit at the bar, which worked out wonderfully with Sue as our server. We met Karen - who is not the stereotypical Karen, but rather a tall, beautiful manager who introduced herself to us and warmly welcomed us. If the beginning is this good, we couldn't wait for the food. I had the Orchard mule with vodka as my drink and my husband had a Rye Old Fashioned. Both drinks were delicious! We started with the Beef Tartare. It was cold, hinted with truffle and a bit of heat from the peppers. The potato crisps were delicious but a bit on the small side and not very crisp. Next up was the burrata salad. The persimmon was an excellent touch and the agridolce was a bright compliment to the rich and creamy burrata. The greens were crisp and cold. The pepperoncini felt a bit out of place but overall the dish was superb! I had the scallops and he had the monkfish. The perfectly seared scallops were accompanied by a decadent butternut squash risotto and puréed celery root. The pancetta's crispness was a great textured highlight. The monkfish was cooked to perfection. The curry was a note and didn't overpower the fish. They were kind enough to exchange the rice with mashed potatoes. The green beans were cooked just how he liked. Dessert was the crème brûlée- it was soft and rich and delicious. What was super nice was to see the team approach to service. Karen was taking glasses out of the dishwasher in between greeting people and checking on service. All the bartenders worked well to get table drinks out plus tend to all of us sitting close by. And the meal for the 7 of us definitely was diner quality. Burger and fries was better than McDonald's, but not as good as a Smash Burger. We all found the cocktails weak and not worth the $$. The crab & mango spring rolls were liked, but the crispy chicken dumplings got a big thumbs down. Really disliked by two at the table was the Chicken Salad Tartine, which neither person liked enough to finish it. Service was okay, but not on top of things. Water at table wasn't refilled during the entire meal. Since we had over 6 people, they automatically charge the tip. This doesn't motivate the servers to really be attentive. Not something I'd expect from a restaurant claiming to be "Top Notched". While the pre fixed menu items were delicious and prepared with excellence, the dinner was over priced for a three course meal compared to their regular menu. What a great job you guys are doing! Experience was great. We waited at the desk to check in for about two minutes, maybe less. Staff was overly apologetic. We sat outside. Setting was wonderful. Planned a date night for my wife's birthday. Thyme and then comedy show at the local theater. This establishment shares ownership with Zest and Grille 3501. We've loved Zest, but never been to the other. Anyway, the food and drinks were of very high quality. Unfortunately on this night, service was running very slow. Our server was very attentive through our first two drinks and appetizer, but they were pretty much gone after we put in our entree order. We had to ask the manager the status of our entree about 30 min after ordering and it risked us getting to our show. I think it was the result of what appeared to be a rehearsal dinner in the next room, but sadly they weren't staffed to be able to accommodate a full restaurant and this party. I'd go back, but felt I needed to call out how poorly managed the place was in this night. read more

Enjoyed NYE at Thyme with a beautiful view overlooking the lighted Easton/P'Burg bridge. Restaurant was packed the entire time we were there and many were enjoying bar seats and cocktails. NYE offered a pre fixed menu with several choices in each category. The three of us had beef tartare, short rib appie, scallop appie, lobster bisque soup, halibut, lobster pasta and the decadent dessert duo. Everything was served hot and promptly despite the huge crowd. Dishes were prepared flavorfully and beautifully plated. Can't say enough good about our experience. I base my reviews off of 4 criteria: Presentation, Service, Taste and Ambiance. I came with one other person today during brunch service. Presentation: I was indubitably impressed with the place setting as well as the plate presentation for each meal (see images). I don't think I could have anticipated the plate presentation to be as good as what I saw today. The one really disappointing aspect was the condition of the menu's. As you can see in the picture it was very bent and I felt that the menu could have received a little more attention. Service: Our server Aalijah was incredible and timed the check-ins well. The busboy's also were very attentive and cleared off the plates as soon as we were finished. Again, excellent service and I recommend requesting Aalijah for an elevated experience. Taste: Everything we ordered tasted great and everything blended well together. The drinks were also very good. The dumplings and yuca were well worth it. Ambiance: They absolutely succeeded in creating a comfortable ambience for all to be in and the place was tidy and well kept. Overall, I will absolutely coming back for dinner and I enjoyed every second of my visit. The only reason this is not a five star review was because the menu presentation could have used some work but absent that, it would have been a five star review. The hostess who seated us decided that she wanted to strongly debate the availability of the window view when as it turned several of them were not spoken for until later in the night. It was all in very poor taste. The salad we had was good as were our entrees - filet mignon for my wife and the pork chop for me. My bottled beer was the usual good but my wife's $17 peach martini was bad. No taste. The potatoes that accompanied my port chop were way under-cooked and in many cases raw. Because our waiter was busy, it was difficult to get his attention. It was only after we had other wise finished that I could get anyone's attention to tell them about the potatoes, which was a significant portion of the meal. The waiter and his manager decided that the solution was to offer to make new potatoes for me to take as we were paying the check. We declined. And then to exacerbate the situation, they send a "cheesecake" to take home for my birthday. When we arrived home we learned that the piece was so small and so overly drowned to cinnamon to make it only for one at best and inedible because of the over spicing. I give it a 3 out of 5 only because of the steak and port chop were that good. Average service. And somewhat rude. read more
