A bunch of us ate here this evening. We liked the vibe although the food and drink got mixed reviews. The salmon was good, the Black & Blue burger was excellent. The fajitas were okay. The fettucini Alfredo was okay, however, the chicken had a very strange texture: there were two pieces and one looked, tasted, and felt like chicken and the other piece was more like rubbery, gristly, I don't want to know what. I ordered a double chocolate milk stout (and pointed to what I wanted) but still ended up with a milk stout which is a draft. Eh. Another person got the same thing and her reaction was the same. I still felt hungry when we left and didn't really care for my food. Another person had chicken cacciatore and he said it was good but finished his meal before the guys who ordered fajitas got their sizzling meat. The experience overall wasn't unpleasant just not great. I would give 2 stars, some of my buddies would have given 4 so I'll give 3 and say your experience will depend on what you order. read more

Have had great service and food here and have had complete misses. It's an awesome space, but has a weird shift when the DJ shows up. The moody ambience leans more in to jazz or karaoke, but the two times I've been there late enough the DJ turns it to "late night beach club" which doesn't totally fit. The wings have been awesome each time I've gotten them, some of the best bar food in Easton that won't blow a hole in your pocket either. Service is what you'd expect from a "dive" bar. Kitchen had closed earlier than what we were told when we called for one instance, so as far as service consistency I'm not totally sure. Overall a great casual place to eat and drink read more

I forgot to write a review for a meal we ordered for delivery when I was visiting family in Easton a few months ago. I was there about a month and we mixed from ordering in, to home cooking. One evening, we decided to try Black and Blue. Door Dash said delivery would be in about an hour, and it arrived almost an hour to the minute. I ordered simply their Angus Burger. I found it to be small, overcooked, and not so flavorful. Ordering french fries are always a wildcard since much of the time, they arrived soggy. Here, in fact, they did. The coleslaw was very good, though. I was disappointed with the delivery but see many things on their menu I'm certain would be better. I don't imagine I'll be back that way until COVID is over and done with. But, I plan to give it a try, while eating there and listening to music. I ate there back in covid, main reason why we haven't been back was because of the very dark atmosphere inside. Number one pet peeve for me when coming to a restaurant. Where to start with this one. First off the servers were sooooooo bitchy. Just beyond unpleasant with zero personality. You were made to feel like you were a total inconvenience. The band was good but it was just waaaaaaaay to loud for the small space. You couldn't talk, dance or move. Speaking of the small space I'm 100% sure it was over crowded to the point of not being safe. I'm told it's like this every Tuesday, okay so have staff who are capable of serving and not rolling their eyes when you inquire about a beer you ordered 45 min ago. Now to the cheap bar food. I should've know when I saw a peach salad on the menu in December. Food was not even good bar food. Sure they offer vegan options but they weren't good. Huge pass on the place. I'd never return. Let me first start by saying I have never left a bad review in my life. 4 of us went to black and blue during the Easton martini fest. To say it was terrible was an understatement. We went not just there for the martini special but to eat dinner off the regular menu. We ordered our drinks and water and were told they had limited lemons. Ok they were busy. We ordered 4 appetizers. 25 minutes later we still did not have our drinks and the waitress dropped off our bill. She told us we had to pay before because we had the wrist bands from the espresso tour on. This made no sense what so ever. We were discriminated against because we were part of the martini tour. The martinis were just plain gross. They tasted like the leftover burnt coffee from the week before was saved up and used. The waitress came back with our drinks and we still waited an additional 25 minutes for cold calamari with the most awful dipping sauce. It truly tasted like stale lager. Greasy coconut shrimp. The chicken quesadilla had no flavor. I asked for salsa and was told they don't have salsa they are a Colombian restaurant but she has hot sauce. Fish and chips were ok. The fish was at least hot, but the fries looked like the were from the bottom of the fryer. There was a not a whole fry there and they were ice cold. We asked for silver ware, and was brought 2 sets and cocktail napkins. The hot sauce never arrived, we left with the server never checking on us. If I could give no stars I definitely would. Not one to complain or write nasty reviews but last nights experience here was horrible. My first time there and my other friends first time back in a long time. We were excited to try the food and relax listening to the awesome jazz band, unfortunately the service and food was so bad we rushed out of there as fast as we could. Our waitress barely was around and even when she gave us our food she instantly ran away not even asking if we needed anything else, or how is everything, etc. We had to quickly call her back as we all had no drinks for quite sometime. As were eating, both my friends pasta were pretty bland but my dish, the chicken picatta was flavorful. As I am about to dig into the other breast it appeared uncooked. Of course being outside with very dim lighting I couldnt see too well but with our phone flash light you can easily tell it was still raw in the center with that slimy chicken feel. With our waitress rarely checking up on us I noticed the manager constantly walking by and called him over to look at it as I didnt want anyone else almost eating this! I was very nice about it to him and he seemed to be very concerned about the situation and took my plate. A couple minutes go by and we walks right past my table and sits at his table of friends, records the jazz band, and still walking past without saying ANYTHING?! So now not only did we get HORRIBLE service from our waitress but the managment clearly doesnt care either. Plus my chicken was RAW. The second I saw our waitress again we flagged her down and asked for the check, I also explained the chicken situation and how her manager completely ignored us after the fact and that I wanted it off the bill if possible. Funny enough her manager we sitting at the table besides us and it took his employee to tell him to come talk to us. Long story short he tried telling us it was fully cooked but would still take it off my bill ..... I'm sorry but that chicken was not cooked at all and we wouldn't have made it a big deal if the management wasn't so god awful. We will never return back! read more

Carpet does not match the drapes! Unfortunately this restaurant looked better than it was. Let's start with what was good. Our waitress was really sweet and appeared to be a hard worker. The ambiance and decor was interesting and attractive. Their craft cocktails were intriguing and delicious. However....the food was just not good. My appetizer was Calamari that was undercooked and disgusting. My Taco Salad had an overcooked taco shell bowl that was sealed with cheese and beneath the cheese seal was a very small amount of greens. The main course was chicken fajitas that were cold, as they tasted like they sat in the kitchen too long before they were brought to the table. The chicken filling was overwhelmed by peppers and onions. It was inedible. My partner for dinner also shared that the menu indicated his salmon would come with asparagus but they were replaced by peppers and onions. The third person at our table ordered the Paella which he described as having a lot of oil. This was very disappointing as I was in an amazing mood and excited about returning to the restaurant now that Covid restrictions had been modified. I love that they have a dedicated vegan menu!! However, everything is pretty overpriced for the quality, but portions are big. It's a catch-22. Nothing was really that great or worth visiting for again. The black and blue fries barely had any bleu cheese on them and the bleu cheese dressing on the side tasted like nothing. The vegan nachos were big, but extremely mild and also pretty tasteless. Would've helped to have more guac (key being fresh guac, too. Ours was pretty brown) or salsa or something to freshen it up. The tacos weren't much better. They force you to get 3 but they're really tiny for $4-$5 a piece, and nothing special. The beef chili was the weirdest because it was extremely sweet, as if it had mangoes or pineapple in it. It was not good. Tried this restaurant based on the reviews. It has cute, outdoor seating which we didn't choose since it looked like rain. The interior is very dark, with an eccentric vibe. Dark wooden tables and stately (yet funky) chairs are all over. This place has a charm to it you don't see in the chain restaurants. Started with the fried calamari with marinara sauce... very tender. I ordered a Chardonnay and the fettuccini carbonara with grilled chicken. Both were FANTASTIC!! I usually drink Pinot Grigio but didn't see any on the list but the wine had a great flavor to it (The Crusher - CA). The fettuccine was cooked well with prosciutto and mushrooms... the sauce very tasty. I was expecting a couple of pieces of chicken but got two nice- sized grilled chicken fillets. Easton resident since birth up until about a year ago. Can't even begin to count the number of times I had fantastic brews, cocktails and top-notch food in one of the most unique restaurants the Lehigh Valley's growing food scene has to offer. My wife and I were together for about my last 2 years in Easton and enjoyed everything the old crew put in front of us. Between the massive cocktail list and Weyerbacher spent grain pizzas, we never had a single negative to say about the service or quality of meal. Until last Friday... This time back, about a year since our most recent trip, everything had changed for the negative. We quickly realized that the place was under new management, as there was one large table of about 10 people but otherwise maybe 2-3 tables of 2 to 4 people each on a Friday night at 6:00 PM. Still, took 2 minutes until someone came to show us to our seats. Some things were familiar, like the voodoo/dark atmosphere and beer list on a hand drawn blackboard, but other things were an obvious change. The cocktail menu couldn't come close to even being comparable to the old and the draft list had none of the quality (other than some Weyerbacher taps) of the previous lists. The entertainment (singer/guitar duo) weren't very pleasant as the overly loud volume completely killed any atmosphere that still lingered. No more great pizzas, only 3-4 "meh" entrees, and all of the fantastic sauces and artisan dishes were nowhere to be found. In total, it took an hour and fifteen minutes from when we sat down until we could finish our meal and get out of there!!! The shrimp tacos each had 2 measly shrimp and my wife's veggie burger fell apart after her first bite. We were only asked if we wanted drink refills (water and beer) no more than 10 minutes before we were ready to leave. As sad as I am to say it, Black and Blue is no longer something we miss now that we're out of the area. read more

Not good. The decor is cool, but too dark. It looks like a place Edgar Allen Poe would frequent. I wanted to go here because I saw their restaurant week menu and was excited for multiple vegan options. The cauliflower wing appetizer was ok. The florets were way too big. Not a lot of flavor. My boyfriend had the nachos which he enjoyed. The wait staff is incredibly slow and Ill-informed of drinks. She wasn't able to answer basic questions about what red wines were available since we were given an old menu. My boyfriend ordered the steak sandwich which was mostly gristle. It was inedible. The owner did take that off the bill. I ordered the veggie burger which was mushy and had an overwhelming celery flavor, which I've never experienced in 15 years of eating them. Fries were ok. But my husbands 30$ steak is half fatty inedible cuts. I had to pick 5 sauces for the wings. I literally clicked ranch 5 times n got 1 blue cheese. Worst part... Update (9/28/2017): Decided to go back after giving them a couple of months to work the kinks out and update my review accordingly. When I walked in the manager, Tara Perruso, made a beeline too me and informed me that I was not welcome there and they did not want my business. Which really seems to reinforce my statement below about the lack of customer service and public relations skills by the new management of the place. So here is my updated review. I didn't get a chance to see it the food and/or service improved; but the management's customer service and public relations skills still suck. It is a shame that the new management here didn't take the opportunity demonstrate that their food and service improved, so I could provide a more positive update to this review. Tara blew that opportunity, way to go. Review (8/1/2017): This place has reopened, with new management and new employees. Gone are the old familiar faces behind the bar, the eclectic menu, the excellent beer list and the gothic/wiccan decorations that moved from Which Brew to Black & Blue. So I stopped in one night and there were 3 customers at the bar and one table with 2 customers. Asked for whatever double IPA they had only to find out they had no double IPAs. Very disappointing. This was my go to place to get nachos and a rare burger in the past. I had already been warned by other former clients that the nachos now suck and to not order them. The menu is very limited, and not very inspiring. All the burgers in the menu are now $15. I ordered one rare. Then I waited, and waited and waited some more. Remember there were only 5 total customers in the place but it took the kitchen over 30 minutes to make a rare burger. When it came out it looked good and was cooked to my liking. Then the disappointment set in because it was served with plain old regular fries, not the shoestring frittes that Black & Blue was known for, and gone is the Blithering Idiot sauce as well. Now replaced with a choice of some chipotle aioli or guacamole. Yes, I said guacamole. The burger was served on a larger version of a store bought hamburger roll that did not have the density to actually stay together once the burger was picked up to be eaten. I had to resort to eating my burger with fork and knife due to this sub-par roll. The burger tasted good, but not worth the $15 charged for it. I wish the new management luck getting this train wreck back on the tracks. I would have left a review on Facebook, but the new management has removed all the past and recent reviews from Facebook, as well as the ability to post reviews. They have also been deleting posts by clients and has even blocked some clients from posting on the Facebook page. Seems like the new management needs a lesson in customers service and public relations. More importantly if they remove the ability of customers to share feedback, they will never be able to fix what is wrong. As a long-time customer of both Which Brew and Black & Blue, I probably won't ever step foot back into Black & Blue. In fact this place is so changed, they should have re-opened with a different name. read more

Not to be harsh but this place just doesn't seem to take much pride in their food or service. I give it 3 stars because I and my GF like them for what they do well. They have a good sound system and play danceable music. They have a cool little dance floor and their androgynous culture is very fun, silly and it almost expects you to dance, which we do every time. Give them credit for being different. It's too upscale to call a dive bar but alternative bar? Definitely! And the house DJ is a very cool cat. read more

Do not order food from here. We got the cheesesteak, wings, and pasta carbonara. By far the worst cheesesteak I've ever had - the steak was grilled to well over well done and put on a piece of bread with a terrible sauce - no taste. The wings had no taste, no crisp, and honestly I think they were boiled. The pasta carbonara was cheap - just noodles with a very cheap tasting Alfredo sauce and bacon. The fries were not even seasoned with salt. If I could give less than one star I would. This was the most disappointing meal that me and my boyfriend have had in over one year of dating, and quite frankly one of the worst meals I've ever had. read more

Dude this place is incredible! Anyone that didn't give this place 5/5 is nuts! The venue is probably the best I've seen in Easton. What a hole in the wall! Perfect spot for a date or drinks. It's small and intimate. They have live music a lot which is quality The food is all very good and I think almost anyone can find something tasty on there. The vegan options are actually fantastic. Taco Tuesday is where it's at though! Decent selection of drinks. It's candle lighting inside for the most part, Victorian looking dinning room, and the bar is lit up with florescent colors. Best vegan wings and hummus! I was cravings wings but I've been vegan/vegetarian for 3 years but I've never really been adventurous with it. So I decided to try the wings made out of seitan. I was soooo pleasantly surprised! They are juicy and crispy all at the same time and super saucey just like I like it! That was my first but not my last time having them. Even my meat eater fiancé was surprised at how good they were but then he had the regular chicken wings and loved those as well! The hummus is very good and smooth and I love the olives on top! I could sing praises about Black and Blue (formerly known as Which Brew) all day and night. The dreadful day when Which Brew closed, a part of my heart was broken - no, shattered. Skip three years later and like a phoenix, it reincarnated itself into Black and Blue. I'm pretty sure I heard carillons sounding off in the distance. The dimly lit, Victorian-esque interior is sprinkled with zany touches along with some fun tunes playing in the background. The setting is ideal for a libation or four. I must admit that I'm very biased at this point. I adore this bar. They carry an impressive rotating selection of craft and Belgian beers on tap (and many more bottled) as well as a full service bar. The food menu is well priced and really tasty. And those amazing nachos! I kid you not; they make the best damn nachos around. Every layer of the house made tortillas is covered in toppings. These are how nachos should be made. I also highly recommend the tuna bites and Margherita pizza that are crazy delicious. The food menu does change up every now and then depending on what's available so simply ask if you're unsure what to order. The folks here are super friendly. Speaking of which, the staff is also what keeps me coming back. They're all knowledgeable, efficient, and do their jobs well. The only slight downside is the location. It's situated in an area with very limited street parking but I haven't encountered any problems with that as of yet. Black and Blue rocks. I only wish I live closer! read more

Weird experience here. We ordered food, and when we got there to pick it up they told us 2/3 of our bags of food were gone. We couldn't really get an answer to where our food was or why, just left us standing there. Eventually he said he gave our entrees to a Grubhub driver by accident. He wouldn't refire our food or tell the kitchen I guess, just kind of told us "too bad." He gave us our cold appetizers and refunded eventually for the entrees. This is a cozy, neighborhood restaurant several blocks from "downtown" Easton situated across the street from the courthouse. Parking can be a little challenging at times, but that shouldn't deter you from the ample craft beer selection. Just be prepared for a dimly-lit, almost gothic-style interior...which isn't a bad thing, just can take a moment to adjust to...not to forget some of the scantily-clad servers and bartenders, too - so the place certainly has character. All said, this is a comfortable stop with attentive service. Not a bad place to enjoy a beer or two for sure. read more

We loved the old Which Brew beer bar (the same owners) and were happy to see them reopen with this place. Not sure why they did not keep the old name since this place is essentially the exact same bar food, beer, and decor-wise. Great beer selection, though the majority is on the dark, heavy, strong side, they do seem to have a few milder pale ales etc. The food is still great and cheap! Though the menu is a bit smaller than it used to be, they should have something for everyone. Parking is a bit dicey. Not the best neighborhood and street parking is the only option but we have never not found a spot. And still good service too. I can't think of a better beer bar in Easton. read more
