Passed this place many times and first time to this restaurant. Promptly seated (restaurant was empty - Sunday 5pm). We ordered from their special Octoberfest menu. I had the jaeger schnitzel and my wife the chicken schnitzel. Each entree came with red cabbage and egg noodles. I think you had some options but that is what we chose. The schnitzels were great and fried. They were well prepared (thin and moist). Red cabbage was from a glass jar but decent. Egg noodles okay but could have used more gravy. Great selection of beer. We decided to have a get-together at this restaurant as this is located in my hometown. A group of about fifteen of us got together and had an awesome time. Great experience. The staff was excellent. The wings were good, sauced well. They met my request for hot & garlic Parm mixed. I should have asked for extra crisp, that's my mistake. I also forgot to request Bleu cheese, assuming it came with it. I simply asked my excellent server and she took care of it. The bar pie was good, not over the top. It was cooked well and I have no complaints. I would have liked to have crushed red pepper, Parm cheese, garlic, etc. Most places deliver the pizza caddy to the table. I get that may not be the case anymore with COVID. My wife had a chicken Cesar wrap which she said was very good. The fresh cut fries were good, but could have been seasoned more. Typical bar food with a few dishes that stand out. My family have visited this location twice. Both times we had a young gentleman serve us. He was polite but refuse to write anything down. He returned numerous times to confirm what was ordered and what he forgot. He also was slower then slow. The women serve were running circles around him. Long and short of it: Its a bar and grill and a local adult hang out spot. It has sufficient on site parking. Because it's a hangout spot it's always loud in the evening. The wait staff is very polite but also very busy on crowded nights, and many nights are, at least at the bar. The menu choices are interesting and varied enough. The food is a bit on the heavy side but tasty. The prices are reasonable. Good burgers. Its decidedly a neighborhood feel. That's not a bad thing. I don't know as I'd drive a long way round to go here but I'd be glad of its presence in the neighborhood for a chow down, and if I was hungry and passing through I'd certainly consider it. Never in my life was I treated like the frozen cattle my grandmother was fed than at this establishment from the waitress. Not to mention the hairs we got in our food, two of the three I found in my starter and entree respectively. The food was surprisingly great but the hair kinda ruined it and the place was nice and cozy witch sucks that I had such a horrible time there instead of enjoying myself. My entree was comped and the waitress gave me an employee discount (I'm not an employee) on my crab cakes because that dish hadn't had the hair directly in my food and I let that one slide and didn't say anything. So I will give them credit where credit is due. Not to mention the manager was very nice and offered me some pass to entice me to come back witch I'll admit I rudely refused. But the young lady that waited us, I've never seen a worst waitress in my life. She never greeted us, I'm convinced she forgot to take our order, stood up on a table behind a half wall next to us to take a picture for a group, never asked if we wanted a refill on drinks; my mother had to call her to get more coffee, I had to call someone to get us silverware and napkins because there was none, she placed my fathers spoon on the bare table, never apologized for the hairs in our food, never asked to see the hairs, always reached over my shoulder to get my dishes; never asked if I was finished with my plate and never asked or let me know when she was reaching over me, got the wrong bill for us and was screaming at the top of her lungs for her mother half our stay. And I keep calling her our waitress because she never even gave us a name. The waiting staff was seriously unprofessional in my opinion. Just wow! The food each time has been perfect-- but sad to say the service tonight was abysmal. Seated at a table for 3,the waitress Claire, spent deal of effort in pointedly ignoring us, then making a point of slamming our drinks down on the table. Spoke to the manager, but situation did not improve. This waitress needs to be in a career better suited to her sour disposition-- like the DMV perhaps. Lesson learned-- don't come here on a Saturday evening-- but again, the kitchen put out great quality meals-- just the service made it a throughly unhappy evening-- I'm normally a guy who massively overtips-- tried talking to her before cashing out-- she was defensive and combative so she only got 10%. We ate the topping off if clams and left the undercooked clams on plate. I informed our waitress. She said she was "discounting clams" wasn't asking for anything but wanted them to know since this was our second bad experience with their baked clams. Got our bill. Went here on New Years Eve with a few friends. Place was ultra quiet (kind of surprising for a bar on New Years Eve) but the staff was very friendly. Ordering was a tad of an adventure as they were missing some menu items but the food we did get was good and prompt. Food was basic fare (Turkey Club, burgers, etc ...) and while the menu is fairly large, there's nothing you haven't seen at a bunch of other places. The dining area is separated by the bar (good) and is fairly easy on the eyes in a road house style theme. Pricing is on par for the area. All in all it was a pleasant place but the kind of place I would forget minutes after leaving. My friends rave about the regular nights there however. read more

I feel like if you are a local coming into this location you are on an episode of Cheers where "everybody knows your name." I've never come to the Brass Rail for a sit down dinner but I have been plenty of times for appetizers and drinks. The bar tending staff is friendly and quick to assist when needing refills. Sometimes there is a decent wait but depending on the night and what local band is playing the place gets PACKED so that's understandable. Food is decent, nothing to brag about but when you are drinking and want something to munch on it does the job. The parking can be a nightmare when they have a packed house. Most of the time I skip looking for a spot in the lot or side street and park in the medical building parking lot (after hours of course.) I'd recommend Brass Rail to new residents and locals! read more
