While driving home from the ski slopes and trying to avoid a fast food establishment we stumbled upon the Covered Bridge Inn. On this night, temperatures on Blue MTN was near zero. We hoped to get a warm meal in a warm restaurant but were disappointed. CBI did offer great service and the meatloaf special that was an enormous offering of 2, 1" slices of ground beef wrapped in bacon with potatoes and gravy that was accompanied by a vegetable medley of string beans, broccoli and carrots. The meal was warm but wasn't great and it wasn't bad although it filled our void. Sadly, the meal didn't warm us up and I'm glad we split the dish as there's no way in hell anyone could eat such a portion. I saw someone with a burger that looked good, maybe next time. read more

Ambiance (4/5): We visited during February after skiing nearby at the Blue Mt Resort. Sadly we were not able to experience their outdoor backyard. There's a small parking lot to the side of the inn. The inside feels like a cozy cabin with one side being a full service bar and the other side for seated dining. The tables were nested close to each other. By Saturday around 1pm, guests started piling in. We sat right next to the warmth of the fireplace. There's TVs all around the establishment. They have multiple events featured throughout the month, such as trivia on Thursdays at 6:30pm. Service (5/5): The wait staff were extremely friendly and smiley. She was hustling on the floor and did a great job at it! While it took some time to get our orders placed, The food came out fair Drinks: $11 mule flight! The full list of mules all sounded too tasty and each one that I ordered was indeed delicious. I would have definitely ordered another one if I didn't have to return to the slopes! Food: Buddha Bowl ($20) (3/5) - My dish was more like a platter, of the deconstructed salad. I requested a side of steak ($7) to my meal. The steak was tough to bite into and not worth the extra cost. The bowl was absolutely filling but there wasn't much taste to it with the exception of the tahini (?) dressing. Went on a Saturday night in January (so, ski season). Luckily we were able to be seated immediately. Service was wonderful and food came out fast. Servings were plentiful. We got drunken clams ($14) shrimp bisque ($8), shrimp & scallop Alfredo and shrimp ($38) & lobster stir fry (but asked for linguine instead of rice), Everything was good- but the sauce on my stir fry overpowered everything and the scallops were overdone. My husband also thought his shrimp bisque was thin although there was shrimp in it. But, overall still good. We didn't realize that we also got a salad, which was very good. Drinks were also good and reasonably priced (wine $7- double cocktail $12). I was so full so I asked for my dessert of pound cake with berries "to go". The pound cake was great, berries and vanilla sauce delicious but it was odd to have a huge piece of kiwi on top (but I tried it, but it wasn't peeled so I gave up!). But only $6 which was great! The place had a nice bar which was full of patrons and the cozy dining room was also full. I saw people who got burgers and they looked really good. It was nice to have some live music playing in the corner. Seems they have plenty of special events and we think we'll come back on a Thurs for their trivia night. We'll be back! read more

We came from over 2 hrs away and were able to set up our table outside and enjoy a gorgeous day with the band and great food! After my first bite I could see it was not cooked to medium as ordered. In fact for being ground beef I wouldn't even call it medium rare This Burger was barely cooked. I came in with 3 friends and they ordered wings and I ordered a turkey sandwich and pierogies. The wings came out 40 minutes after we ordered and I sat for over an hour and a half waiting for food. When I asked about where the food was my server said that it wasn't even put in the system. I ended up just paying for the wings my friend got and left telling the server not to bother putting it in then cause at that point it was almost 2 hours that I had been sitting there with no food. 100% would not recommend going here, I wasted time and money to not even eat. read more

Where do I begin. they have a variety of martinis but are made with cheap liquor and tasted awful. The burger was mediocre and falling apart as I ate it. I had to ask for coleslaw and pickles which should come with a sandwich. It was odd cause I was watching the table next to us and all of their patrons had the coleslaw and pickle. They also give you a tiny cup of ketchup.. I was too afraid to ask cause our waitress was trying to rush us out of an empty restaurant. Food took forever and we were the first patrons they had. Clams where great and fish & chips massive and delicious. They do need to step up their craft beer presence. So, this is how our experience went tonight: Sat at the bar, friendly bartender. Ordered a drink each. Ordered the Buffalo Chicken Dip, something to munch on with our drinks.... food came out relatively quick, but as the waitress put it down on the bar, about 25% chips slid off the plate. No big deal, right? You never need as many chips as they give you, not the end of the world.... we're not people who care much over the little things.... Nope.... Wrong. It's like it happened in slow motion... the waitress swept the chips to the edge of the bar, as if to toss them in the trash (the extraordinarily acceptable thing to do), but instead!!!!! Picked them up, chip by chip, and put them BACK. ON. OUR. PLATE. With her bare hands. We sat, mouths gaping. We were literally too dumbfounded to say anything, ate from the "other" side of the plateau quickly as possible, drank our drinks, paid our tab and left. We won't be back. This place used to be the place to go in the area. We would go to wing night every other week. Apparently new owners took over in the last few months and it's gone downhill. I get inflation, but if you're going to charge $15 for 10 wings with a single dollar off on wing night to make them $14 for 10... probably should make the wing meaty and worth while. Also wouldn't call that a wing night. Ordered loaded fries for my sister and there was a sprinkle of shredded cheese with a piece of crumbled bacon.... it's disappointing. Quite honestly, when my friend moved from Philadelphia to Boyertown, I thought, "Oh crap, there goes any further nights of fun dining and plentiful drink among cool people...Now we're going to have to shoot our food!" A few weeks back we discovered Giannotti's Country Manor (the name IS a tad misleading) in Fleetwood and this past weekend we discovered the Covered Bridge Inn. The address given here is wrong, BTW, and it is actually on Covered Bridge Road at the junction of Rte 73 but hopefully Yelp will be updating that shortly. In any case, this place was great. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is both fun and...eclectic...in style. The food and service, however, was excellent. First off we had escargot (escargot!!!) for an appetizer and I would say it rivaled some of the top preparations I have had in far more swank locations. Friend had a bacon, mushroom cheeseburger which was cooked perfectly and wonderfully seasoned. I had one of their flatbread pizzas (Buffalo chicken) and it was HUGE. I mean HUGE as in three meals worth. And it was very tasty as well. Their menu is huge and there is definitely something for everyone. From bar food to more upscale items (like lobster and the escargot). Service was a mix of old-school formal and hip informal and they both worked together perfectly. Prices are very reasonable considering the amount of food you get. Very happy with this find and we will definitely be back again and again. read more

Good food, Poor Service. We went on a Friday night. The place was packed. Thankfully had a reservation. Not greeted (or even recognized) in the vestibule waiting area. Finally had to interrupt a waitress to be seated at our table which was clearly reserved for us. Waitress took our drink orders, came back quickly with beverages, and took our food orders. Wait. wait. Wait. Server brought plates to our table- not our orders, but belonged to neighboring table. Brought second set of plates, again belonged to another table. Thankfully, we were enjoying each others' company, but had to ask for our salads and appetizers. The waitress seemed surprised that we didn't have them yet. 2 salads and apps were served (with no plates) followed very quickly by our food orders. The food was tasty, no complaints there. This place is a pass over for me. The only thing i really like from the menu is the blue cheese dressing that come with the wings. The wings themselves are decent if they are extra crispy, but that's it. My BF loves this place and is always bringing home dinner (which i repeatedly asked him to stop doing). The latest haul was two orders of wings, french fries - which looked soggy and dirty (so i didn't even try them), their "famous" burger hold the onion - which was just cheeseburger with sliced jalapenos??, and a chicken cheesesteak no onions. He spent almost $50.00 on dinner and felt that it was $50.00 that could have been spent on a much better dinner somewhere else. My suggestion is if you need to stop there for something to eat, just get the wings and be on your merry way. read more
