I came here for Superbowl Sunday and I had a cup of coffee with me because it was so cold. It was also almost done and the waitress made me get out because they have a no outside drink policy. It took me 5 minutes to drink it and comeback inside. As if I was not going to spend money inside of the restaurant. I could understand if I was not consuming but I was. The mozzarella sticks, the wings and the Philly cheesesteak were great. 5 stars to the Chef! Besides the service, this was a good place. If not, go to Chili's, they don't mind the drink. read more

My goal was a low carb option, but I bent my rules a bit to enjoy the Eggplant Rollatini appetizer as my meal. The server was overall polite and still a bit unpolished or perhaps brisk. I'm not certain, she could've been the only one waiting in any tables at the time, although there were not many. We kind of felt that she did not really want us there or she was really distracted. Stopped by for lunch today. I've been a few times before and only had wings and I was happy each time. The wings here are a good size, crispy, and the sauces taste good. The server today was very friendly and attentive. We chose to sit outside because it was fairly warm and I just prefer the outdoor seating here. Today I decided to try out something other than the wings (which my gf still got) and I got The Bronson which is a grilled chicken sandwich on a long roll with American, mushrooms, and bacon. I love all of these ingredients and I was excited about it. The roll was also decent, which is usually half the battle. Unfortunately the chicken on this was beyond overcooked. Due to the chicken being well over, the sandwich was quite dry. The loaded pierogis were just frozen Mrs T's but they tasted good with the toppings, and my gf's wings were good as usual. This won't cause us to not come here anymore or anything like that, but this was an unfortunate first attempt at anything other than the wings. Will update after next time in. read more

Great spot for really good bar food, BUT the dinners are even better. We actually requested that the chef come out to our table so we could praise his culinary skills directly. I had the mini filets with peppercorn sauce. The beef was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was better than that at higher end restaurants. Even the broccoli was just how I like it: tender yet slightly al dente with just a bit of seasoning. While away for work, I stopped in at this pub to grab something to eat. When I arrived I parked in the private lot. I walked in and sat at the bar. Joe was my bartender. I started with the lemon drop martini, and it wasn't bad. I then went to the red wine. For my meal, I got the mussels appetizer and stuffed the clams appetizer. Violations: 6 Inspector observed raw beef stored over seafood and ready-to-eat foods in the walk-in refrigerator; ice being used in both ice wells at the bar as a coolant for the soda cold plate and for bar drinks (corrected with physical barrier); various reduced oxygen packaged fish thawing in the walk-in refrigerator without being reintroduced to the atmosphere; a black mold-like substance on the interior surfaces and separator plate of the ice machine and a buildup of old food and food residue on the manual can opener (both cleaned during inspection); a buildup of old food and food residue in both bain maries under the hood, a buildup of old food residue on the rails of the tray rack in the kitchen and a buildup of food residue on the outside door and handle of the microwave; and lights were not shielded or shatterproof over the rear kitchen area and had a heavy buildup of insects. It was getting late on a Sunday night knowing not many places are open to eat (9pm) & seeing a full parking lot of cars, we decided to give this place a try. Upon walking in we asked the hostess a table with view of the basketball game - she answered very curtly she can't promise this or we can go sit at the bar. We were sat all the way in the back- across from the men's bathroom..and facing a tv that had the news on.. the one tv that didn't have the game on.. ok. Our waitress came over pretty quickly took our drink orders and disappeared. 1/2 hr goes by.. no drinks and she walks by and says I'm so sorry I never put your orders in... she runs off to put in the drinks.. several minutes pass by she sees us again and runs off again gets the drinks. She takes our dinner orders... walked in at 9, at 10:30 we still do not have food! The food finally arrives. The Philly chicken sandwich shows up with marinara- red sauce and the Italian steak sandwich came out like a sloppy Joe. When addressing it to the waitress she states the Philly chicken sandwich description states marinated chicken.. she clearly didn't know the different between marinated chicken and marinara sauce and doesn't respond about the sloppy Joe. She comes back from the kitchen with a decent Philly chicken sandwich while explaining she's been working with two big tables and the cook left mid day.... Was here for dinner the other night after a day on the mountain and its was okayish. Service was good, food was adequate. The menu is big but I don't know if I'd trust this place with some of the variety of dishes they had. They also had live music which was.....a choice. The venue is small and there's no natural stage really so it ended up being overly loud to where I could barely talk to my wife across the table. One star because it couldn't be any less. This place is very close to where I live, but I don't go out much, except for lunch, so I haven't been there in a couple years. Today, I was on my way elsewhere for lunch, but at the last second I pulled into their parking lot. The server was decent enough, and I ordered the Mushroom Swiss burger with fried onions (an extra half a buck) done medium rare, and specified "to the rare side." This was a $13.99 burger (plus the onions) which is getting to be pretty much the norm, for a decent burger. But I'm used to burgers at places like Chili's, Red Robin and even Teddy's University Bar, all of which have really decent burgers. Now, the review... I took one bite out of the burger, and it was maybe the worst tasting burger I've ever tasted. It looked like a dried out slab of something, but not meat. It couldn't have been more well done if I asked them to intentionally burn it, but the outside wasn't burnt. It was just gray, dried out meat. And it was probably smaller than a McDonalds quarter pounder, but no where near as juicy or flavorful. I took a second bite just to see if it got any better. It didn't. When the server came to ask if everything was alright, I just shook my head no, and showed her the burger. I asked if it looked medium rare to the rare side to her, and she said she didn't know. She didn't know the difference between pink and ugly gray? That's when I lost complete faith. She said she'd be back to check on me. FOR WHAT? I politely complained, I got no satisfaction whatsoever, so there was nothing left to check on. As she was walking away, I picked up my plate with the uneaten burger, carried it to the person at the bar cash register, laid it down and dropped $15.00 next to it, shook my head and walked out the door. I didn't take tax into consideration, and while the service was ok (with the exception of the server not knowing what medium rare should look like) leaving a tip for food that was literally not edible, never even occurred to me. I guess it will be a couple more years before I venture in again. I hate leaving bad reviews about anything, but there's not enough negative things I can say about this lunch. read more

This place is great!! The food is delicious, the server was attentive and friendly, and the live musician was really talented! The place has a wonderful pub vibe, with string lights, wooden booths, and music/entertainment every night of the week. My parents and I all had cheesesteaks, highly recommend. The onion rings were some of the best I've had in recent memory. They have a large food menu and a wide selection of drinks as well. This will be my first and last time at this pub. I went to have a good time, but in return I got pressed by a bartender for leaving a tip based on the service. The beer was flat, the calamari appetizer was rubbery, and the staff were unprofessional by drinking behind the counter. The bartender interrupted a conversation I was having too, by berating me for the tip I left. He used profanity towards me in-front of everyone. If he wanted a better tip, he should have made sure my order was properly filled. How do you have someone working at your establishment who is drinking on the job? That is very unprofessional! Let me start by saying this was not first time eating here, I don't go here too often and tonight reminded me why. I ordered the Seafood Newburgh, the only thing I can say positive was that the seafood was cooked perfectly. However the dish was lacking...as an experienced chef, I will say this...the cheese sauce was broken, lacked flavor and was very one note and there was way too much of it to the ration of 3 shrimp & 4 scallops. When you serve a dish like Seafood Newburgh, the richness of the dairy needs acid...a splash of lemon juice would do the job. The menu said there were mushrooms in the dish...but I only found two pieces of what resembled a fungi. The rice had no seasoning and the vegetables were greasy, unseasoned and unappealing. If you're going to serve a mixed vegetable medley that contains squash & zucchini add some garlic to the pan to impart flavor...along with salt & pepper. Both squash & zucchini are flavorless veggies, they need help! Not exactly worth the $26.99 they are charging. If you consider the Seafood Newburgh...do yourself a favor and think again. I never use the word disgusting to describe food as food and cooking are a passion of mine, but I wouldn't have served this to my dog! The owner Rick Defino will be getting a letter from the ADA then my lawyer. He was not her tonight on a Friday but my 7 pound service dog that I have all the paperwork for was denied service. We walked in and were told dogs are not allowed. This is completely illegal and this establishment will be contacted by the ADA and my lawyer. Ambiance was terrible the owner accosted a woman who had a service dog and threw her out causing a scene. The woman was obviously an anxious person and most likely disabled because of her anxiety due to the way she responded to the owner throwing her out... the funny thing was I saw they were seated earlier ... why were they seated? I've visited the Original Pocono Pub several times, and here are my observations. The outdoor dining area is lovely, so if the weather is nice, head outside. There are tons of roomy picnic tables with plenty of shade from umbrellas, and the center courtyard has smaller bistro tables. The flowers are beautiful and if there's a breeze, it's heaven. In cooler weather, eat inside and you' re definitely in a bar. Roll with it. Drink a beer, eat a great burger ( the black and blue is my favorite) or some crispy wings. All the sandwiches I've tried are good, and the fries and onions rings are stellar. The only thing I've ever had that wasn't great was the Mediterranean Crab Salad. The crab cake was flat like a pancake and all claw meat, and sun-dried tomatoes are a bad idea in a salad. The chewy texture is just wrong, like if you put pencil erasers or gummy bears in a salad. Order anything else and you'll be happy. Very happy. read more

I was so excited to come here The parking lot was packed, how bad could it be? I'm always up for trying some place new I started up at the bar and ordered an old fashioned and specified my bourbon choice. It came with sprite, which I am allergic to. Upon stating this to the bartender I was told I was completely wrong, old fashioned always comes with sprite. As a bartender of over a decade, especially one that has been on shows like bar rescue, I know this is incorrect. He did make me a new one without sprite under protest, it was okay. Next, I ordered food. I was so excited to have Mac and cheese with chicken bacon and tomato. CBT Mac is how the menu states it. .....a wrap came out. Again. I was told I was wrong and that is what I ordered. The manager, Steve, caught on and said he'd take it back, but it had already been a while and I'm not one to waste. The person next to me even vouched, that's not what I ordered at all. I ate a pretty plain wrap with veggies. Wasn't bad. The bartender came back after the manager and apologized that I pointed to the wrong page in ordering... again the person next to me vouched, it wasn't true. I was pointing to the Mac and cheese part. Steve seems like a pretty good manager. He helps out. He wants to fix things, and I know my bartender was new. I'm not going to destroy this place on Yelp because of one bad experience, and because Steve saved the day. Test your bartenders. Customers, especially with witnesses, aren't wrong. Maybe this was just a fluke. I will be back this week to see how it goes, and will update the stars then. But for now, the atmosphere is chilled and calm, there's a great live artist playing, and even though I didn't get what I ordered, I didn't hate it, and the manager, Steve, made a pretty decent old fashioned in the end. read more

Wow..pleasantly suprising... Up this way for business and stopped in for some eats. Outside deck, karaoke, Decent size bar. A variety of beers, Dance floor, live band, attentive staff...I had some yummy martinis. The food is what captured my attention.. pizza's, Burgers( med-rare) perfectly cooked, and the fries and yes, the KING of Wings you pick sauce and theres soo many to chose from... Southern jack, dry rub, honey-garlic, raspberry Zing, garlic parmesan and of course hot, bbq, mild all very tasty .......it was the EGGPLANT ROLLANTINI which is eggplant stuffed with ricotta and mozzarella cheeses and baked in fresh tomatoe gravy, that really surprised me...it was definitely homemade!! A great blend, delicious to the last bite!! Fresh ingredients for sure. All the food here is cooked as ordered, so be prepared to wait for it. Portions are generous. Fun place, can get loud, all kinds of people hang here, the bartenders are fun people. Looking forward to returning when I'm back in town. I've learned local pubs can be the some of best experiences..and most times have better food. .....yes theres some other fancier looking from the outside in the area..... I ordered take out last night and I will never give my business to this establishment again. Almost $20 for a steak quesadilla is ridiculous! I would have went to Taco Bell if I knew I would be paying that much. Not much meat and mostly cheese! Also, everyone should beware they will never tell you they gonna charge you for transaction fee and to go under 50 which I never seen before! I often find some of the best spots are hidden gems. After driving to The Poconos for the first time from NYC and checking in to our Airbnb, I was on the hunt for a quick bite and a strong drink, totally scored finding this place. The service here was great from the hostess, to our server and even the bartender. So nice and extremely helpful. Menu is very extensive and has something for everyone. Food is delicious and very largely portion sized. Cocktails are strong and so inexpensive. The many different variations of Mac and Cheese amazes me, as did the flavor options for chicken wings. A great hangout spot where the locals are also extremely nice and chimed in on places we must go to during our visit. Headed back to The Poconos next month and definitely going back. read more
