Updated for another great experience! The steak special was fantastic, super tender and flavorful, definitely a welcomed surprise, and the soft shell crab special was great too. Music, Bevs, and staff were great as usual.

A quiet bar with great drinks and food. You must try the buffalo chicken cheese steak if you go. The bartender, Donna, is very friendly.

The Bangor brewery is great place in downtown Bangor to chill at the 16 seat bar after work. Jakib is the server on most shifts and hustles through the entire dining room for timed approach. Unless you've worked as a server, waiting and watching the stream of service is tough to determine in the way a server maneuvers through the restaurant. We dined there a handful of times and each experience was different in a positive way: busy, slow, chaotic, yet we never left there feeling neglected or underwhelmed . . . . because as a former server, I'm aware of the movements from the bar, the rhythm of the kitchen staff, the delays and issues. The fish and chips are stellar, the grande wings & chicken fingers as an app, great soups, burgers, board specials, salads! If you are not a steak eater, there is plenty on the menu for you too. However, go for the steak! We go a few times a year and it never disappoints. Dress is casual, kind of an old looking dive bar vibe with great food. People are nice, servers know their menu and can make good suggestions if you're a first timer. Reasonably priced for everything except the steak. With the steak, you're paying for quality. Always a great meal, and almost always leftovers to take home. We've never had dessert because dinner is so filling, so no review on dessert here.

The onion rings could easily feed four for an appetizer there's that many. My NY Strip was cooked perfectly with garlic butter as an add-on. Creamy and so tasty. My husband had the ribs and said they were amazing. The staff was super friendly and pleasant all around. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was that it's unbelievably loud in there. It's really hard to have a conversation while dining there. It's got more of a bar vibe to me, so maybe that's why I found it hard to hear. But I would definitely go back but probably earlier before the crowd gets heavier.
