I decided to return to Surv in Easton which I hadn't been to in over 5 years. The restaurant is smartly decorated and welcoming. You wouldn't know it was in a mall from the inside. They specialize in wood-fired pizza we but decided to order entrees instead. A waiter brought water right after we were seated and then ordered drinks. A waitress came with our drinks and took our food order. She was very nice. We both ordered the Baby Greens salad and Filet Mignons. The salads were very fresh and had candied walnuts, blueberries and mandarin oranges in them. These were really delicious. The Filets came with potato gratin and vegetable sides. The steaks were cooked perfectly, juicy and flavorful. I also enjoyed the potato side, but not so much the vegetables. Overall the food was fantastic and the service just as good. An good chef knows filet gets braised butter or wine. Gravy is for lower quality meat such as meatloaf. It was so tough I couldn't cut it. Asked my partner to try and he also said it was extremely tough. I sent it back asking the chef what he thought.. the waiter said he thought it was ok. I said I would just take it home. For this month's gathering, we selected SURV restaurant as our venue, and arrangements for the group dinner were made more than two months in advance. The planning process included coordination with Janet, SURV's Event Coordinator, and our latest communication with her took place just two days prior to the scheduled event. Arrival and Reservation Issues Upon arrival at SURV for our group dinner, we were unexpectedly informed by the restaurant staff that there was no reservation under our name and that they had no record of any group booking. Despite presenting evidence of our communications--including emails and text messages the staff maintained that our reservation did not exist. Interaction with Management During this confusion, a woman named Carol, who identified herself as the owner, intervened. Carol reiterated that there was no reservation for our group and stated that the restaurant could not and would not serve us. When confronted with our documentation, she insisted that it was not the restaurant's responsibility and declined to accommodate our party, even though the restaurant was empty at the time. Her attitude was described as abusive and condescending, and she subsequently left the scene by retreating to a back room. Reflection on the Experience While it is understandable that communication errors can occur, we expected a reputable establishment to acknowledge the issue and make an effort to resolve it. Instead, the management's response was marked by arrogance and condescension, which was disappointing and unacceptable. Furthermore, we have since heard similar stories from others regarding the management at SURV, which lends credibility to rumors of financial instability within the restaurant. Community Response As a result of this experience, our community--which consists of approximately 450 homes located within three miles of the restaurant--will no longer consider SURV for future events nor will we grace the establishment. read more

When you have a big family, you can NEVER find a spot that they are ALL happy with. This spot hit the mark. Love the decor, ambiance, seating booths. Now lets get to the food- Fry trio was amazing, not a fan of dipping sauces but this hit the spot. Burger was amazing, pizza was great and my kids tore up the chicken and fries. This is not the first time I had a terrible experience with this restaurant. The first was a birthday party for a 90 year old I won't go into that disaster. I signed up along with 44 other residents to dine at Surv. The event was scheduled many weeks ahead of time.When the women who made the contact and had proof of the reservations went a bit early to be sure everything was in place she was told there was no reservation and to leave. She had been in contact with the event coordinator four days before the event and was told everything was in order. The rating I want to give is a 3.5 but I'm rounding up. To start I followed Google maps to the location and parked right in front of the restaurant sign. It was a closed deli/bagel place. Luckily we were meeting friends who told us to walk around the mall to the back and we found the restaurant. We ordered family style so we got to try a lot of different dishes. The server was excellent. The drinks were a average and the dry martini came out dirty and had to go back. The mushroom risotto was tasty but super salty. The baked brie was nice and runny but so sweet it was almost a dessert. The caprese salad was good. The meat lovers pizza was very good as was the everything crusted salmon. Very disappointing experience trying Surv with friends, especially given that it's owned by the same people that own Edge in Bethlehem which we frequent often. Primary reason for the three stars was service. Server took our drink order, delivered three cocktails but never brought the fourth. Had to track her down and was told club soda was from a different place. Huh? Felt rushed then to place our order and then she disappeared never checking and tracked her down twice to get drink refills and water. Food came, second round came...no club soda again and no water. Flagged down manager, expressed our service concerns and she brought us water and the club soda. The food was slightly better than the service. Rice bowls were dry and chicken overcooked and chewy. Crusted salmon also overcooked and it was just okay. We skipped dessert and manager stopped by, apologized for the problems, blaming it on a temporary power failure (which lasted about a minute and our issues were BEFORE that happened) and did make an adjustment on the bill for which we thanked him. Located in a weird spot in the back of a strip mall and ambiance does not exude any warmth. I would call it chaotic and sterile. I don't think we were the only table with service issues as we observed a lot of harried behavior by the staff. Speaking of cold, it was a cold night and since the restaurant does not have an enclosed foyer, everytime someone came in or left, there was a burst of cold air that came into the dining room. I was nicely asking to make reservations and didn't hear he said 'please hold' because the background was LOUD. He proceeded to say "Please hold" 6 times in a real rude, loud and obnoxious way as I was trying to say sorry. Honestly, not great. I had been wanting to come here for some time and friends invited us so we finally went. We ordered a lemonade for our toddler and it tasted like water with lemon in it -- we told the waiter that's a hard sell for a toddler and he said they'd remake it sweeter. We waited and later had to remind him we needed a replacement. He then said he needed the glass back to get a new one made (weird) and then the manager came out with a sweeter version (why was this a big deal??!) We decided to order some pizzas and medium plates along with a pasta kids meal. Some time later the kids pasta was served (finally) and it turns out they put it down at the wrong table. Then our medium plates were served and a bit later the pizzas came out. We asked for Parmesan cheese and it came out by the time there were two slices left. On New Year's Eve, we had a party of six choose to eat at Surv. I will say it was one of the worst dinner experiences I have ever had. We were seated promptly at 6:30 to a table of five instead of six....we had booked a reservation for six. They quickly got us a chair but after 30 minutes and asking several times our sixth finally got a place setting. Our first drink arrived 20 minutes in and they took our order. Three of our guests got the fixed 5 course menu and the other three got a salad and a meal. It was not until 7:45 that the first round of the prefixed menu came out. Meanwhile the other three had nothing. After an hour and half, they decided to put rolls on our table as well. Two hours in the waiter came over and asked some of our party if they got the second course...which they did not. He finally found some...and nothing was said to the people without any food. Mind you these courses served so far were beyond tiny. So they were just as hungry as we were. 8:45 the waiter brought out the salads and said the ladies finally get food. Please remember our reservation was at 6:30 and after 2 hours and 45 minutes we got salad. People who had come after us were all getting fed. As a matter of fact I had a friend who arrived at 7:30 and were leaving as we were getting our salad. As they were cleaning up our salad, I was saying at the table that I am going to write a review. The waiter overheard and said it is a busy night we have to understand.... get that but almost three hours for a salad? Our food came out at 9 and I thought it was ok to good but also at this point we would have eaten anything. During dinner the waiter sent over the manager who said we had to understand it was New Year's Eve. They were serving 300....I get it, we go out to eat every New Year's with this group but at the point he came to talk to us we were 3 hours in for meal. What is disturbing is the only time we saw the waiter was to drop off food and never checked in on us. The gratuity was included in party of 6...so he didn't have to take care of us. Interesting when I said I was going to leave a review we had someone finally come fill our water, drop off our food and then ask if we need anything...all in a matter of 15 minutes. So we finally left the restaurant at 9:45 for a 6:30 reservation. We didn't want to wait for the dessert that came with the meal as it had been so long. So, they packed it up in one bag and sent us off. I believe they decided on the one bag after they handed my leftovers to the wrong person. In conclusion. if you want an average meal that will taste good because you haven't eaten in so long and you have 3 hours and 15 minutes to waste this is the place for you. By the way the manager couldn't care less and in no way apologized. He actually blamed it on the guests ordering the preset menu. Also, we had been before years ago and the service was just as bad but we thought it was because we were at the bar. My adventure that brought me to dining at Surv started a few weeks ago, I have been trying to support local places via take out and I came across Surv. After looking at the menu I decided that this place was too nice to get take out so we decided to dine in the first chance we got. We were not disappointed with our decision. You know its a good restaurant when the only bad thing you can say about the place is the location makes it hard to find, it is located on the back side of the shopping plaza, till I came here I did not know that the plaza had a back side. We started off with a few drinks and the Fryz Trio, the Curry Ketchup was out of this world. My fiancé said the Strawberry Shortcake Martini was great, I got the Vaccinator, not my favorite drink but that's my own fault for getting a drink with turmeric in it, and to be honest I only got it because of the name. For out main courses we could not decide on the Chicken and Waffles or The Burger so we got both. Both were excellent, the mac and cheese waffle was great and a great way to get the mac and chesses crispy on top. The burger was juicy and flavorful and so large that I had trouble finishing it. The service was great, we were checked on numerous times by everyone. Everyone was also nice and friendly. Everything was clean and you could tell that they take pride in this restaurant. The only tip I can give people is if you want a booth, make a reservation, they only have a limited number, and they fill up fast.
