Very quaint spot located in Easton. We stopped in on a Sunday evening about an hour before closing, and the restaurant was fairly quiet. Camille, our server, was excellent. While the food wasn't personally my favorite, a few dishes stood out--especially the Roman-style grilled artichoke, which had the perfect crispness, along with the lobster ravioli and the German apple cake, which was nicely balanced and not overly sweet. The flavors overall leaned earthy, which may just not be my personal preference, as my parents love this place and are regulars. I would definitely come back for wine and appetizers. Why the sour reviews? They all reflect some kind of ambivalent emotional response- vindictive even. We have been coming here since they opened, and frequented his prior establishment at the Silk Mill. Nowt a bad experience. The menu is appropriate to the wine. This is a Wine Bar- that is the focus. Jason, the proprietor knows his trade very well, and is not bashful to discuss it, his passion for it, and his history in said trade. Said passion runs thoroughly deep, and his wealth of knowledge may even supersede this. The monthly Wine Dinners showcase his unending search for lesser known, and often hard to find wines within the contiguous United States- Jason being an ex-pat Aussie. I've come to expect a bit of a story and charade with each dinner- and experience. I like that the sampled wines are all generally for sale. The food is usually paired very well, and executed as such. There do seem to be a regularly rotating staff, but that's irrelevant to the experiences. It's his show. Sometimes the portions can be a bit too large at the dinners, and that says a lot for the price- very fair. As for the restaurant proper, the portions are fine. His curated charcuterie board is spectacular, and local. The Bavarian aspect is appreciated quite well. I miss Zum Stammtisch in NY- now, that does not mean this is a German Restaurant, but there are enough influences and pop-up fare that ist es wunderbar! His schnitzels are always thin as paper, crispy as seashells, and delightfully tasty. We always have the German Fare when it's available, as it so often it. For a state populated by/with so many Germans, this is THE ONLY good true German food around. The overall decor is a bit dim (lighting) and old world European- this is not negative- I prefer this to modern settings. There is a 'secret' Narnia room which is reserved for parties of 12 or more. I quite like the concept- though have not used it- had the tour. Again, the wine list is incredibly extensive, and you can always find what you want. Ask. Then, visit the curated wine shop next door! Truly one of a kind. That's another review. Book the specialty dinners weeks in advance as they generally sell out, but pop on a standard night, as there are usually a few tables open. Holy heckkkkk this was the best experience my family has had in a while! This review is for the Sunday Supper they offer Sunday nights. I can't say enough good things about the host, who helped us make wonderful wine selections...I mean the best Riesling I've ever had. They know their stuff! We had a large table and weren't sure there would be enough food served family style but we had nothing to worry about. Every course was exquisite and flavorful and different! The pork schnitzel? Surprisingly good! Also the decor and ambiance is just amazing. Really felt taken care of and had a great time. Highly recommend! Fantastic spot in downtown Easton. Friendly staff, huge wine list, warm vibes, fab food. Make a reservation as it fills up on a Friday night. Loved everything in the veggie section- roasted Brussels sprouts with labneh and fresh dill, crunchy tempura maitake mushrooms, crispy new potatoes, roasted beet salad. Would order each of these again. Everything was beautifully presented, perfectly seasoned, big enough to share. We also tried the gnocchi. Lots more on the menu I wanted to try. For no special reason, we dined at Kabinett Wine Bar for their KFC Sunday Supper dinner and the experience was everything we hoped for and more. It's a wine bar, sure, and we don't usually drink our calories yet decided on German beer. The entire experience was awesome from the juicy, fried chicken, sautéed collard greens, Maque Choux corn salad and that creamy Mac & cheese. The first course of a diversified carrot salad was so enjoyable, we ate an entire week's worth of carrots in one sitting. The discovery of the CORTADO, espresso infused with frothed milk, was my fave drink to accompany that incredible banana trifle. A shout out to Naomi, our rock star server, who addressed our questions and helped make our dinner delightful. First time for dinner and really liked the whole experience. Very good choice of wines as advertised. Interesting and imaginative offerings throughout the menu. My wife and I shared the crispy eggplant which were outstanding and just melted in your mouth. She also had the gnocchi appetizer which had a lot of flavor. My main was the duck confit papardelle. Duck was tender and it was good, not great. Was expecting more flavor as it was a little bland. Our friends thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. Service was attentive and pleasant. I can appreciate servers that know their trade and don't need to go over-the-top nice...conversational, knowledgeable and warm. There are many better places you could go. Do not waste your time or money. This place does not have ac. Food took forever (3hours) and was not the quality or flavors one would expect from a nice meal out. One of our wines was spoiled and tasted like vinegar. Owner did not even stop by our table to speak to us about it. He sent the waitress out to explain and offer a resolution. Went to Kabinett for dinner with a friend and had amazing service from the moment we walked in the door. We started with a sparkling wine, recommended by the owner, along with oysters - all of which were fantastic. We split the Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Tempura Maitaki Mushrooms as appetizers.
