First time here. No liquor license so you can BYOB, but they do give complementary drinks of a limited kind. Place is very eclectic: pool table, bar, dining area, but funky decor including saddles! Staff is friendly and attentive. There was live music which was great as it was not over-powering. Hubby got seafood newburg which was filled with seafood and topped by a flaky crust. For dessert, he got the creme brûlée donut. He had the best meal. I had broiled scallops-- but sadly, they were definitely not real sea scallops as real sea scallops are not exactly the same size and completely round. I had coconut cake for dessert, which was good though. We'll go back but will not go for scallops. read more

Upon entering the empty establishment we thought we came in on off hours but were warmly greeted and permitted to sit wherever we wanted. The atmosphere was old-fashioned and a beautiful step back into history. It appeared mostly in good repair and well-kept. The only flaw I noticed in the dining area was the chipping paint next to our table where it rubbed against the wall and the dust cobwebs beneath the little lampshade on the table. We placed our orders and waited approximately 45 minutes for our food to arrive at the table. It arrived hot and was very flavorful as well as aesthetically pleasing in its presentation. The waitress was very polite, amicable, and attentive without being overwhelming. She provided us with complimentary samples of cheeses from a local vendor. The women's bathroom is INCREDIBLY CREEPY! It is located next to the bar, where a number of men were seated and the door did not fit the frame properly permitting people to easily look into the one toilet room. I had to stand guard for my daughter and her for me. That left us feeling incredibly vulnerable, anxious, and uncomfortable enough to not want to ever return- which is unfortunate. Had it not been for the vulnerability and insecurity of the bathroom environment experienced by my daughter and I the rating would be higher and I would consider returning. But the whole thing was too uncomfortable to be overlooked. read more

Always a great dining experience at the Kunkletown Pub especially with a chef/owner at the helm. The situation is ideal because they check the inventory, prep all the ingredients and plate awesome entrees. The old farmhouse style exterior doesn't prepare you for the 'wait for it' food that the kitchen staff serves up. The food is made to order, typically a bit of a wait yet we are always happy with the results. We ordered the meat lasagna as an appetizer along with a chicken Saltimbocca over steamed spinach, side of stuffed potato plus the six tempura battered XL shrimp and steamed asparagus with a stuffed baked potato. it was all so tasty and fresh! A shout out to the chef for going above & beyond to feed the masses and our ROCKSTAR server, Natasha, who made sure to stop by intermittently to check on us and ensure our satisfaction with our meal. read more

This is an unusual place. I felt like I was at someone's house that decided to try serving food to the public. The main dining room layout felt awkward. The bar area had an old recliner in it and a living room sofa set. They also call themselves a "pub" and have a bar area but no liquor license. They are BYOB which is a plus if you know that ahead of time. The service was incredibly slow. We were the only table there on a Saturday night and it took over an hour to get our food. No one came out to tell us it was taking longer than usual or even to refill our waters during this time. The food was okay. Very mediocre. The wings were very bad, some splintered with no meat on them. The shrimp tasted very off and I had to spit it out bc I was afraid it was rotten. Chicken parm and cheesesteak were surprisingly decent. A lot of locals seem to come here, definitely not a place for a tourists passing by. I don't have high expectations for restaurants in this part of PA but this was exceptionally bad. Our server was very personable so that was nice. Will not be back. read more

Stopped here after a day skiing on Blue Mountain. There wasn't parking on the side that the pub is on, but there is parking right across the street (next to the General Store). The ambience is very cozy and casual. Soft lighting, wood--and there's a pool table and working juke box! The menu is pretty extensive. The owner is also such a friendly woman who doesn't mind making stuff that might not be on the menu. I just ordered a hot apple cider that was probably one of the top 3 apple ciders I have ever had. All in all a great experience--definitely stop here if you happen to be in the area! read more

We are from out of town and stumbled upon this place after spending a day outside snow tubing. The small town family atmosphere hits you when you walk in. It's a refreshing change from all the chain restaurants and trendy new foodie spots back home. We ordered Wings, breaded mushrooms, ribs, and a chicken parm sub. All were great! I definitely recommend getting the hot honey garlic sauce. The portions were huge, but don't expect your food to come out quickly. Everything is made to order. Our chicken and mushrooms were hand breaded. The service was exceptional as well. The staff was so friendly and the locals were very welcome. Wife and I visited the Pub last night for the first time... WOW... Really welcoming and friendly place with VERY Charming ambiance and spotlessly clean... I have eaten here many times since they opened, and was impressed with their food. It is one of the better places in the Poconos and has a rustic charm. They do not have a liquor license, but they give you two free drinks (beer or wine) with dinner. Unfortunately, the last two times I went they allowed their two dogs to roam the dining room and beg for food at tables. It appears they have little concern for board of health rules. Small but big flavor!!! Our waiter was awesome , and because there's a total of maybe 8 tables in the dining area, it was quiet and we were served excellent food! It's like everything in the universe aligned and brought us to this delightful restaurant with amazingly delicious food! We went on a Sunday, and ordered some items off the special menu: be sure to try the French onion soup. The chicken Parmesan with pasta is the best that I've had; and I live in South Philadelphia. Be sure to say hello to Charlotte at the bar, who is an absolute treat! If you are ever in the area, like after skiing at Blue Mountain, this is a must! Kunkletown? Where the F is Kunkletown? Well let me tell you.. there is NOTHING in Kunkletown except for some family, a few farms, and some bad diners. but I'm sure glad that this place is around because it is the only good place for good food and a drink for a good 15-20 mile radius within this area. Irrespective of being desperate for a good place to get away from family or stop off for some eats on the way home because your aunts food almost killed you... this place has great food! I got the lobster mac and cheese expecting something I might find at Applebee's... I was wrong. It was great! Also the service was wonderful, the establishment is very clean, and they had a full bar. I was so happy to find this place. My friend got the steak and stuffed scallops and felt that it was very good as well. If you're ever in Kunkletown stop here! read more

After 3 hours of fun tubing at Blue Mountain the mini van was full of hungry kids. Stopped at Kunkletown Pub for first time and was the perfect spot. Very good comfort food menu, excellent service and priced appropriately. Plus drinks are served in Mason jars which 1) provides a healthy pour and 2) is harder for the kids to knock over! For quality and price you can't beat this place. The shrimp cocktail, one of our favorites, is moist and tender. The spaghetti and meatballs is fabulous served with three (3!) huge meatballs and a delicious marinara sauce, garlic bread and a salad. The chicken dishes are excellent especially the chicken Parmesan and the chicken bruschetta. Friday is prime rib night, served anyway you like and roasted to perfection. It's byob but if you forget yours they will give you 2 complimentary drinks with your dinner. The dining room is cozy and charming and the bar area (yes they have a bar but no liquor license) is livelier with a TV, pool table and live music on weekends. The staff is friendly and so solicitous they seem like family. And the owner/chef Gretchen treats all of the customers like family. The kitchen can be slow but the quality of food is worth the wait. Was traveling home from Easton and looked on yelp for a place to eat in the area. This place was the closest on our route. Glad we stopped here. I had broiled scallops and my wife had the seafood combo. Both very good and priced reasonably. The French fries and steak fries were excellent. Were looking for a different place to eat near Camp Harlam, found on Yelp and called ahead for lunch for 15! Walked in and it was like going to someone's house for dinner. The food was fresh, service was great, and good times had by all! The ice tea was very good, don't know if it was the water or the way they made it. Fresh cod was delicious, as was the prime rib sandwich. Nachos were made with freshly fried chips. Will be going back for dinner! Also had yuengling on tap. Horrible!! Chicken Breast was overcooked. Did not offer any bread rolls. Waitress forgot to bring salad and broccoli with order. Gave a free piece of cake for the mistakes, which was a nice gesture, but the cake was dried out! Owner asked how everything was and when we told her the truth she seemed offended? Had lunch here today. Decor is pleasant, with an antique theme. Food was good. But service was almost nonexistent. It took a full hour for us to receive our sandwiches -- and there was just one other table of customers in the dining room. Then the server disappeared.
