So I remember being here years ago and liking the food, apparently it's gone downhill, I got their Chesapeake burger it had no flavor. My drink was yummy and service was great but the burger was overdone and flavorless. read more

Had lunch with friends and I was very dissatisfied. Ordered a soup, salad and 1/2 sandwich combo. The soup had an excessive amount of salt. The salad was just eh. Just some iceberg lettuce with cucumber and tomatoes. The turkey sandwich was deli type meat , not sliced turkey breast. I don't think I would return. read more

Samuel Owens is a neighborhood restaurant & bar in an older corner house in Coplay. Caesar salad with grilled chicken breast for lunch was pretty good. Homemade banana cake with PB frosting was large serving and tasted like coconut was added. read more

Just a local in town pub, but great food, wonderful service. I wish we lived closer as it would be one of our favorite places to eat and drink read more

This restaurant is soooo good!!! This restaurant is definitely in my top 10. Great food, great service, great prices, and the people, both customers and staff are good people. This is a must try. We had an excellent experience at Samuel Owens today in Coplay. The crab fries are fresh cut and absolutely loaded with crab claw meat. The cheese sauce is made in house and certainly was enjoyed. The suicide wings didn't have me contemplating self harm, but they were crispy and cooked properly. The suicide sauce was more like a medium to my palate, but it was however a good sauce. The wings I would consider an excellent example of a traditional Buffalo wing. If an alien landed in Coplay, and wanted to taste a wing, I would recommend these as a standard baseline. I look forward to sampling the other several flavors they offer. The seafood bisque was delicious! It was also loaded with seafood. This is something I would probably order on every future visit. I would consider it one of the better soups I have had outside of my own kitchen. The pickle pieroges are of the "church quality" and also something I would order every visit . They said they get their pieroges from Saint John 's church. With all the Lithuanian and Ukrainian history and influence in this area, you can bet these are solid pierogies. The bonus of the day was seeing our good friend Richele Lynn. #rushieeats read more

This place is almost 5 star. Food was very good. Service was on the slower but still reasonable. The dining room is a little bit crowded with tables close together. Overall a very good dining experience. Not fancy but nice menu choices. Will definitely go back. read more

Dined there last evening with three others. First thing I noticed was that the tables are too close together. Where we were seated was, literally, less than two feet from the neighboring table. I ordered the broiled haddock au gratin with choice of two sides (corn and mashed potatoes) and chili. Chili was excellent. Haddock was a little bland, mashed potatoes were very good. Walking back to the car I realized that I never received the corn. One, in the party, ordered a ceasar salad. Never thought to order the salad without onions since we never heard of a ceasar salad that came with onions. The above, that I pointed out, would not deter me from returning but I'd have to pay a little more attention to what I order. One more thing: I don't know if I missed a sign when I was coming in but I didn't know that there would be an added charge to your bill if you paid by credit card. I only saw it when I received the bill. read more

We eat in and takeout a lot, always very good. If you're considering catering a party, this is the place to go. just had a party for the first time catered by them, one words outstanding. So many compliments from the 65 guest who came to the party, how good the food was.Bill helped with the food from start to finish, helping with everything to make your party go well. you pick the time you want the food delivered , brings your food one half hour before your event starts in a hot truck warmer in guest tray, and you tell him where you want them setup. very well priced for the quality and quantity you get. I know how good the food was by so many guests asking for his name and number. Thanks Bill at Sam Owens Will be ordering again Dawn Schmidt. Whitehall read more

This place is amazing. I always find the best restaurants by accident. I was seeking a nice Sunday brunch spot and the one I picked on the internet was closed when I got there. My companion got on her phone to see what was nearby and this place popped up. We parked pretty close to the statue of Saquan Barkley.....very proud of a local product doing so well. We walk in....nice....quiet.... somewhat populated yet not too crowded....the aspect that made me smile the most: The Pittsburgh professional sports teams paraphernalia covering the walls....Steeler AND Pirates. Longtime fan of both....I get tired of seeing those wretched Philadelphia/NY teams pendants/posters/shirts. I realize I've found my spot. Menu is unique....NOT pretentious like so many other restaurants....just unique. This place has figured it out! Do the basics well don't try to change classic recipes and provide a warm welcoming atmosphere... That's all that's needed for the recipe of success yet so few do it. I ordered the Bacon Blue burger but was wavering because that Cobb salad looked PERFECT. I DEFINITELY will recommend others stop in for a visit. read more

Love this little bar/restaurant in Coplay! It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a pleasant spot to grab some drinks and bar food in this small borough. They have lbs. of clams available daily, which is a hard find anymore in the Lehigh Valley. The bartenders are always so sweet and they make some fun drink specials weekly. Make a stop if you ever find yourself near Coplay! read more

Been passing this place for many years, and finally decided to give it a go. The Chicken Chesapeake was almost too good, and their stuffed potato was amazing! Wife ordered pot roast and mashed, and claims all exceeded her expectations. Prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere is comfy casual.I WILL RETURN! read more

The food is so amazing and fresh always!! You can't beat the delivery rate/ fast service and the delivery driver is so nice!!! One star taken away only because the middle aged lady who answers the phone is usually such a bitch. read more

Don't go here if you have a time limit. We waited half hour for a crock of chili. Then additional 20 min for our food. It was after 7:pm and not overly busy. We enjoy going there but tonight our waitress cared more about talking to people she knew than waiting on customers. Over an hour for chili and wings is NUTS read more

This place is amazing. The food is delicious and a great value, the service is wonderful and friendly, and the delivery person got the food to my house with my sandwich still hot. 12/10, would recommend. I just moved to Coplay from Orlando, Florida 3 weeks ago, and Samuel Owens was an excellent introduction to Coplay. If the other restaurants in the area are half as good, I'm not going to be missing my favorites in FL for too long. read more

this place is incredible value is impressive food waitress and atmosphere is awesome

I was really excited to try this place and had been wanting to go for a while. Unfortunately, I was kind of disappointed. I got the grilled chicken salad, it was good but only had a few strips of chicken. The French onion soup had good flavor but was lacking the browned toasty cheese. My niece got the chicken parm and on the first cut into it noticed it was still raw in the middle. They were quick to return with a new one but of course her appetite was ruined. They really weren't very apologetic nor did they take anything off the bill. Doubt we would go back. read more

I've been frequenting Samuel Owens fairly often within the past year or so. The food that I have is always good. Their burgers are great, their wings are even better. In time, I have sat both in the bar area as well as the dining room. Both are enjoyable experiences, the waitresses could be a little friendlier and it'd be nice for a hostess to greet you upon arrival so you don't have to stand at the entrance to feel watched by everyone until you get seated. read more

Would give a negative one if I could. Been here on several occasions and the food was good. Today, a much different experience. The service was slow. When the waitress approached us after eating half of our food and asked how it was, I mentioned it was good but the food was lukewarm. She said that wasn't true but would give me the potatoes because they were sitting etc. She was somewhat defensive, belligerent and insinuated I/we were lying. To make matters worse, when she approached us after we were done, she asked us if we were done or if we wanted to sit and "nitpick" more. My friend looked at her and said "Nitpick?" to which she said "I mean pick." We asked for the check and when we went to pay, she said she couldn't give us a discount because we ate our food etc. We told her we didn't ask for a discount. And, we never wanted anything but just wanted to let her know the food was lukewarm. The audacity of this woman is beyond appalling. She should be fired. Very uncomfortable experience to what was supposed to be an enjoyable lunch. Also, the paper towel dispenser in ladies room did not work. Health issue. read more

Superior food! Great take out. Huge menu that's cooked to order! So fortunate to live close to Sam Owens!

Highly recommend this place. I always go when visiting my folks. Never eaten a bad meal here. Tacos come on a fried shell! Crab Fries, these aren't that BS you get from that crap chain place that is now in downtown atown, these fries come with REAL crabmeat, AMAZING!!! From sandwiches to meals, this place has gotten it right. 4 stars is a great rating from me. Why didn't they get 5 then? Need to update the place. I believe their working on it, but its time for new flooring, tables, and while were at it update the bar. read more

Great place and atmosphere for a night out. Cajun wings are off the chart. If you love wings give them a try.

Awesome food. We love to get delivery. The burgers are my favorite. The staff is very friendly! I have never had anything I didn't like. The wings are always amazing. I had stuffed mushrooms last night and there was so much crab in them! Definitely my go to restaurant. read more

Great local hangout- great wings- everything else is just ok-

The inside apperance reminds me of my grandmas. Paintings Hung all around with out door scenery (birds, deer, cabins, woods, etc.) Pretty lame. But I always go back. Who ever is in the back cooking the food def knows what there doing. Fantastic cook! Makes a really good cheese sauce that I like to add to my order of frys. Really really really good lobster cakes and stuffed baked potatoes. This place is great because they also serve breakfast annnnd do delivery. I choose Sam Owens the majority of the time when I just don't feel like making dinner. This is one of the few places everyone in my family actually enjoys the food with no complaints. If you can get your hands on one of the calenders they offer, they do all you can eat nights. Ex. All you can eat sliders or AYCE wings. The wings are crazzzy good. I dont actually go in there to much but I get delivery a lot. read more

So my friend and I ate at Sam Owens 6 months ago cause it was great, then like two weeks in a row the famous Seafood soup was inedible cause it was over salted, the fries where bad it was like they had a cook that cared and a cook that didn't. so about a month ago we went back and it was great The Seafood soup was chunky had a lot fish and shrimp in it the fries where great again, then this week 08/21/2016 the soup was inedible again we sent it back and got vegetable barley which was ok, the lump crab meat in butter was good and fries where spot on,but which cook is going to be there next week, we aren't gonna play good cook bad cook we know of too many good places there are consistent! read more

Ok so I am beginning to change my mind about this place . Beginning with a pro, Saturday and Sunday they deliver breakfast in the area I almost don't want anyone to know because that's the other thing! Delivery is soooooooo slow :( that's any time of day you order . Be prepared to wait an hour and a half at least ! read more

Not a place for a "meal". Been there numerous times, hoping "things" would improve, sadly they didn't. Authentic Ethnic foods are no where near "authentic ethnic food" . Made menu substitution without asking first, felt complied to accept. Personally I don't think the kitchen staff has a good concept preparing a dinner. Stay away from the clams ... Dirty and sandy. Maybe after a few drinks the food might be good read more

I just give this rest. a middling review. My wife and I are gonna take a break from Owens for a bit; she didn't care for the roast beef sand.-even though the waitress suggested it. Our waitress was quite friendly-I wanna note. I thought the beef taco was eh and overpriced at that. I enjoyed my chic fingers, but the salad needed more hearty greens. read more

Get delivery often. The wings are the best in town. Their burgers are very large and tasty. Their wraps are great, especially the crispy Chicken Buffalo Wrap. I tried the fried pickles, afraid at first because I never even heard of them, but they were good! The Chicken Cheesesteak was the first one that was juicy, but not dripping wet when it got delivered. My number one place for delivery when we don't have time to cook. read more

When we don't know what to do for dinner, this is our fall back most nights! Good food, great staff. Seafood bisque soup is AMAZING! Boom boom shrimp is fantastic! Love the all you can eat cheesesteak nights, their soup and salad days, miss the Mac and cheese of the month! (Thai chili chicken Mac and cheese is my favorite one!) the wings are delicious! The homemade BBQ sauce is so good! read more

Friendly neighborhood watering hole and restaurant. Never had an unsatisfactory meal. Wait staff are friendly and attentive. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacking good stuff, too! This place is my go-to place! From the food, to the service, to the clientel, I have nothing but good things to say about Owens! Prices are great, food is excellent, portions are huge! I'd say this place is a throw-back to a different time, when value, quality and warmth were more important qualities than they seem to be now. I am there weekly, if not more so. You cannot go wrong with any item on the extensive menu. By all means, give it a try, whether for burgers and beers, or a family dinner in the dining room. It is well worth it! read more
