However, nothing was priced and I have to admit I had a bit of sticker shock when I hit the bill. $25 for a bag of coffee it is good but I definitely would not have purchased at that price. The Joint was tucked away in an alley one block from the main drag. My wife and I ordered a couple of 16 oz hot drips for the road home. As coffee snobs, we thought the coffee was excellent. A bit hidden, but The Joint is a great spot for coffee in Bethlehem. It's tiny inside, so I wouldn't plan to stay here long, and it's not good for a full breakfast, but the coffee is very good. I got a bourbon-barrel aged cortado and it was excellent. Definitely could taste a bit of the smokiness from the barrel, which I loved. Staff were super friendly. I'd be a regular if I lived here. (-) I typically get an Americano or Drip but wanted to try their Honeychino because it sounded interesting. I was not a fan, it wasn't that it wasn't sweet but rather it had a harsh note at the end. It smelled like honey, that was nice! I'm also a huge fan of ginger in my food so I got their ginger chocolate chip cookie. Texture was good but all you taste is the artificial like ginger! The cookie was overpowering and not enjoyable. If I go again, I'll stick to my original order of a drip coffee or Americano. I'd like to try their chocolate chip banana cookie, hoping it's not overpowering with just banana flavor. read more

There are a few times in life when a meal is so expertly crafted and planned that it is nothing short of genius.... I always wanted to start with Yelp's example. But seriously, I just had two cortado's made to order via the app, and used Apple Pay. By the time I arrived they were ready and waiting and it was my first time here so I definitely liked the interior. It's a coffee shop with a creative edge. For instance, the name....Joint Coffee, or the "pothead" logo coffee pot head. I love it, including the t-shirts they sell. The cortado was delicious. Weave your way through the catacombs of Bethlehem and hang a left at the alleyways similar to Jack the Ripper's neighborhood and you will find a gem and paradise. I obviously jest about the trip but I was a little on edge being a visitor of Bethlehem and venturing through the path to find The Joint. The path was well lit and open but seemed a little shady at first. When I found The Joint I was really glad I did. I walked in and immediately felt the cool vide of relaxation and welcome and time almost stood still. There was no rush, no pressure to order a twenty word drink and the barista moved with fluidity and efficiency. Coffee was really, really good. I ordered a cold brew and it was smooth and rich. I usually get the pistachio ones but decided to try something different. I actually didn't get to eat it until the next day. I toasted it and dug in, it was so good. It had a slight cheesy taste which I thought was interesting. As I kept eating, I realized it wasn't cheese but mold. ...ruined my morning. Well, decided to check this place out because if I didn't go here it was gonna be donut shop or McD's and that stuff is basically chocolate milk. Well, I shoulda went and got chocolate milk! This coffee started off bad when they said they use cocoa powder! But I thought, suck it up, you are too far from home to complain. 1. Cocoa powder does not belong in espresso.... EVER!! 2. Shots pulled over ice are immediately shocked and therefore burnt before they hit the bottom of the cup! 3. 12 ounce cups are NOT 16 ounce cups! Listen and get it right! 4. I have had worse, but, not much!! Service wasn't horrible, but very uneducated in the coffee world. So to the owner of the Joint, I suggest you YouTube, study, travel to Blue Star Coffee Roasters in Twisp, Washington or somehow learn how to pull shots and make some great coffee! I am a huge fan of the joint. The space is tucked in the Sun Inn Courtyard so it is a little off of Main Street in Bethlehem. Nice place or a coffee in the little town of Bethlehem. Stopped in on our drive home from the Poconos and after a little jog trying to find the Joint we arrived at its doorstep. The address according to Google is on one street and then you need to round the corner and go through an alley to actually find it. Once you get there it's worth it though because the coffee was pretty good. I had a Cappuccino and even though it took literally 10 minutes to make, rounding down, it was a good cup. The best part for us was sitting in the courtyard behind the shop. It's a nice quiet little square with some trees for shade and a view of what seemed to be some historic buildings. For me the view was a nice change from your typical coffee house environment so a welcomed change. Inside was tiny and oddly humid so not sure I would stop in and stay but will definitely come back for a cup o' joe and to hang in the courtyard. Give it a look. read more
