So there I was, sitting in my office in near despair when the thought entered my mind....take an early lunch today, sit at the counter of good diner, and get you some brunch to lift your spirits. Enter The Griddle. This place was just what I needed. Sit at the counter, relax, and read the paper while they prepare your eggs Benedict (recommended). Service was great and food came out fast and was fresh. The food is very good here, but you will pay for it. Its a bit more pricey than your average diner but I'm glad to report it's worth it. I haven't the experience with the menu to start ranting about the many options but what I saw coming out the French toast and eggs benedict look to be the ticket. If you have a hankering for some good old fashioned diner livin, and your lunch bucket is begging for some brunch action head over to the Griddle, I dont think it will dissapoint you. read more

Mostly, my experiences here have been A-OK. California omelet? A-OK. California Benedict? A-OK The service? A skosh on the slow side most mornings--but overall A-OK. What falls below the mark: -The coffee. I mean, diner coffee isn't usually fabulous. But, even for diner coffee...meh. What hits above the mark: -One morning they had a "Salmon Special," which was a salmon scramble smothered in Hollandaise with a sprinkling of capers that was 4 star fabulous. -The interior is darling and impeccably clean. Is it the best breakfast in town? No. But, they'll get the job done with adequate service and solid diner fare at reasonable prices. Oh, The Griddle, how do I always forget about you? I don't ever really stop in here unless someone else initiates it...but each time I come here, I am SO glad that I did. Their service is super friendly and prompt, the coffee is good, and every food dish I've had here is delicious. I may have wrote this in my initial review, but the spinach and feta omelet! OH. BABY. It's so good. And with hash browns and toast on the side? Talk about all your breakfast dreams coming true. During my last visit here I stole a strip of my friend's peppered bacon..and I was kicking myself in the booty for not ordering a side of it myself. Went to the Park center location today at noon. They were short staffed. Waited 65 minutes for our food. There was three in our group. Watched tables where people ordered 15 to 20 minutes after us get there meals before us. When we did get our food it was not good quality. When we discussed our dissatisfaction with our server gave us a totally inappropriate answer blaming others. She did not charge us for the meal. We were regulars here for breakfast. We went here for a friends birthday, the mimosa was hands down the best I've ever had!! All of the food was high quality and large portions, out of 7 people every single one said five stars on the food! The place is really cute, well lit and decorated, the staff is friendly and there is ample parking! If it's a busy morning you may need to wait but it's well worth it. read more

We got here a little before 11am on a Monday. The place was packed (it was a holiday for some). Their waiting area is tiny. You sign your name up on the clipboard and they come and get you when a table opens up. We didn't have to wait too long - maybe 10 minutes. The waitress asked if we wanted coffee or some fresh-squeezed OJ, and not having ever had this before, and with someone else paying (LOL!) I decided to try it. Man - it was SO GOOD. Smallish glass for the price ($3.25), but it was delicious. Pure liquid orange. Wow. I ordered the Pecan Crepes with Bacon Caramel: two of our cream cheese filled crepes topped with chopped Pecans and our homemade bacon caramel sauce, $9.50. Out of this world delicious. They should bottle up that bacon caramel sauce and sell it. The service was just OK. Our server wasn't fabulous, but she wasn't horrible either. It's very fast-paced and busy, so you kind of get neglected when you need to ask for more napkins or a glass of water. read more

Ok- I'm learning this is a place to go for certain items, like the orange juice.... I'm in love with their freshly made OJ! They have some creative dishes & I could see how many love this breakfast place however I'm just not one of them....I wish I was (it's 2 blocks from my house) & maybe some day I will be. I struggle, all the time, choosing between sweet & savory...like I want the best of both worlds but getting both is typically too much food; well this time the server helped me by telling me how he eats the breakfast quesadilla all the time & loves it- I went savory & chose it. The tortilla was actually really good but it was hardly filled with anything (barely could tell there was chorizo on there & it even lacked eggs); it was slightly bland to be honest, so I asked for salsa which helped. Their hashbrowns are standard along what my sister, niece, & nephew got- eggs, omelet, sausage, & bacon. My boyfriend went for the California benni, which was on a croissant...I was excited to try it but was let down when I realized how soggy it became, however he enjoyed it. Like I said- they have some creative & fun dishes, some I still want to try...so I'm sure I'll be back at some point. This rating is strictly based on service, read on....Don't go here if you have a group of 5 or more, wait time is too long. Food was good, however I never appreciate when a host gives you an estimated wait time when in reality the wait time is much longer. That is bad customer service. Just be up front with your customers. We waited so long that we went next door for a coffee and when our table was finally ready we weren't allowed to bring our to go coffees in with us. Let me start by saying we love The Griddle. We went to the ParkCenter location this morning. Upon arrival there were several open tables. The waitress greeted us & took our drink order of coffee & water which took 20 mins to arrive. Upon leaving our drinks. The waitress said she would be back shortly. That took another 15 minutes. When she finally took our order, our food came out 55 minutes later! We watched as other people around us got served That came in after us. When we asked her if somebody forgot our food, she just chuckled and said well it'll come out hot soon. No I'm sorry or letting us know there would be a long wait. I understand restaurants get busy but she should have been up Front about the situation & kept us in the loop as to what was happening... It was a big disappointment this morning. What started as a quick breakfast joint that was open at 7 am ended as a crowd favorite for my traveling party - we ended up here both of our two mornings in Boise! First- can't say enough about the friendliness of the staff. Every waiter/waitress we interacted with answered all of our questions about the menu and service was prompt. Second- the food!!! Everyone in my party ordered various omelette, and 10/10 recommend upgrading the hash browns to either the spuds or Mo's potatoes- basically just loaded hash browns- but such a game changer!! We also tried the cinnamon toast as the included bread, which I was expecting to be a cinnamon raisin bread, but it was almost French-toast like, very good with syrup! I ordered a California omelet, which I guess was originally made wrong, so they brought my hashbrowns and toast to me on a small plate .... then, when my "omelet" arrived it was actually a scramble, which is very different from an omelet. Hard to have fresh avocados and tomatoes when they're hot in a big scrambled lump on a small plate. The sweet waitress said they make their omelets differently, as scrambled eggs tossed with the ingredients, but owner and manager needs to then change the menu to specify. If I wanted a scramble, I would have not ordered an omelet. I understand the "old" Boise is changing, along with the "old" Griddle is changing too .... read more

I had a lot of hope for The Griddle. Friends talked about how great it was. So I met there with friends for breakfast. I don't know if it was an off day, but the food was not good. I ordered a simple, two-egg with sausage meal. My first visit to a restaurant I usually will order scrambled eggs because they're pretty hard to screw up. These eggs, however, came out in this tasteless egg-purée patty. No moisture, no texture, no taste--nothing. The hash browns were cooked much too long. I dislike limp hash browns as much as the next person, but you've done something wrong when the bulk of it is cooked to the consistency of dried spaghetti noodles and you need wire cutters to get a bite. Everyone at the table had the same experience with the hash browns so I know it wasn't just a one-time accident. The toast was ... off. I don't know what exactly was wrong with it, but I could only eat half of a slice. Judging from the amount of toast the server cleaned up from the table, the others felt the same way. And then, the price. For five people our ticket came out to $85. For breakfast. That works out to be $17 per plate. Taking the meals we ordered and comparing with another breakfast chain, that price works out to be $45. So, no, I can't recommend The Griddle. It was overpriced and the food was substandard. read more

Wow, this place is awesome. Came here on a whim for Sunday brunch and it was a hive of delectable goodness. We chose to sit at the bar as getting a table was a 30 minute wait (always a good sign) but this turned out to be quite enjoyable. Great service and we could watch what was happening in the kitchen - busyness but with an eye on quality. The chef was at the pass checking all plates before they were delivered to customers. The stand out was the special French toast stuffed with peanut butter and marshmallows and covered with caramel sauce. OMG. Delicious. We wanted a gigantic in-house baked cinnamon roll but literally couldn't fit it in. And to top it all off, great service. Get yourself here. You won't regret it. read more
