This should become your go to place for a couple. A family or large group. I did not get the chance to try their lunch. On my next visit. I'd advise going during the week. I'd call ahead and get your name on the list as it's quite popular and lots of people eat here. So, we had a group of four. The chicken fried steak was very good with gravy and huge portion. Good luck finishing it. I had corned beef hash unlike any I've ever had. The corned beef as in thin strips with no fat and all taste and fresh. The pancake will most assuredly will be the biggest you've ever seen. It's fluffy and done just right! We went on a Friday. It appeared the place had more tables available around the lunch hour. The wait staff was serving us throughout meal. Checking in regularly. Topping off the coffee and asking about our meal. Next time we visit will try their lunch. Had the worse meal this morning ever. We ordered Chicken Friend steak. Had it here a lot. Today it came out with the breading over codes and not even attached to the steak. Their chicken fried steak and corned beef hash are both incredible, and I'm super picky, so it's wild that the same restaurant nails both of my top picks. We've been twice now and we love sitting at the bar--it just feels right for the vibe of the place. The staff clearly loves working here, and it really shows. They know the menu inside and out and can pretty much make whatever you're craving. If you're driving through on the interstate, take the I-84 & Eagle Rd exit--it's only a few miles north on Eagle Road. Super easy to get to. We've lived here for over a year and finally tried Joe Momma's! We've driven past so many times and it's a cool looking place so we've talked about wanting to try and finally did! It's a very welcoming restaurant-- feels more like walking into someone's big log cabin! Even had a fire going on this chilly 25° morning! The menu has a lot of options even though it's "only" breakfast and lunch. After looking over the menu for several minutes, we finally decided on Papa Joes Trash Taters with homestyle potatoes and a pancake. I'm really glad we shared! Holy smokes! The meal was huge! The pancake covered the entire plate it was on. The trash taters were filled with green peppers, onions and cheese (we ordered them without the mushrooms)-- absolutely no skimping on ingredients! I ordered the birria Bennie and the meat was sweet, which I don't enjoy for birria. The potato's were amazing though. My husband got an omelet, which was good. The pancake was massive and yummy. We came in for breakfast this morning, 6/29/2026, and the service was horrible. Our server Laura H was never around. She never asked how the food was. It took forever to pay for the meal. The pancakes were burned. No one was around to ask for a manager so we paid and left. It was a nightmare. We called in after we left to ask for a manager and the person that answered said, "What for?" Who answers that way. The manager said she was the owner and she was horrible as well. We said the service was horrible maybe 3 times and she said you have said that 12 times and to stop screaming at her yet we were not screaming. We repeated ourselves as she said, what was that. Had heard that Joe Momma's was good so I brought my wife for breakfast on the Friday before Labor Day. Very crowded but the restaurant is large and we were seated at a table right away. Just as well, the booths looked a little cramped. Ambiance is rustic cabin, with a combination of booths and tables in the main section and another section with bar height tables. Our young female server was nice. She provided average service. I got the corned beef hash with potatoes and eggs. You have the option of a pancake and I chose it. The portions are large and, as you can see, the pancake is huge. Good value for the cost. The corned beef was Ok but I've had better. It was a little dry. The coffee is not worth a second cup. The OJ is fresh squeezed, very nice, but my wife said it was a little sour. I thought it tasted fine. All in all, Joe Momma's is a good choice for breakfast. Can't speak to their lunch menu. This is my second time at this joint. My first visit was chill. Service was great, food was good and the vibe was nice. Unfortunately, today's visit was not the same. I knew it was going to be hella crazy since it's Sunday. Everyone goes to brunch on Sundays. I wish I would have known about the call ahead seating option. I think it would have saved us so much waiting time. We got there shortly after 10. We were placed on the waiting list. The hostess told us an hour wait. Pretty generic for every breakfast joint in town. We waited, waited and waited. I did check in with the rude hostess to see where we were in the table rotation. According to the rude hostess, there were still 13 tables a head of us after waiting for almost an hour. I'm just curious, how do they rotate those who call ahead and those who have been sitting/ waiting in the lobby? There weren't 13 tables worth of people in the waiting area. I honestly didn't care to hear her explanation about the 13 tables after her being rude. The hostess sets the tone for your dining experience and she did a poor job at setting a good one. Damien took care of us today. It did take a minute for him to get to us. Understandable since he was serving multiple tables. Since we had so much time waiting, we all knew what we wanted. Damien took our drink and food orders at the same time. After all that was done, drinks came out shortly. We worked on our coffee, hot coffee and juices. For breakfast I ordered the Classic Breakfast with bacon. I also had them slap some country gravy on my hashbrowns. But for 2 bucks, you might as well ask for it on the side. You'll get more bang for your buck. The eggs were fried med and were perfect. They hashbrowns were crunchy and golden! The country gravy was a nice addition to the hashbrowns. It wasn't too thick and chunky. The bacon was my favorite part! Wasn't overly crunchy. It had a great bite to it! And it was nice and salty. The French toast was topped with a salty butter. I actually loved the salty butter cause it created a nice sweet and savory combo when the syrup was added. Damien did a good job taking care of us. He did check up on us once while we were eating, he dropped off fresh napkins. After we wolfed our breakfast down cause we waited damn near 2 hours for it, he got us squared away with boxes and our bill. Damien also said that it was abnormally busy today. Clearly, with the wait, the unprofessional hostess and the wait on the food, they weren't prepared to handle this kind of chaos. After we paid and packed our leftovers up, we headed out the front door. Of course the rude hostess was standing there. Didn't say thank you or good bye. We eat here probably 20x per year for past 3yrs. Service is always good and sometimes great. If you know what and how to order the value is there, most meals here feed two. Go to is the three meat hash with pancake for the side. Pancakes are the best in town and HUGE. Probably 6-8oz of cooked meat in hash per serving. We had a wonderful breakfast experience! This place is poppin' for a Monday morning. We waited 15 minutes for a table and then we were in and out within 45 minutes after being seated. Great service, we had today's bar tender as our waiter, he was great. Our food was delicious, coffee is great and the Cappuccino I ordered was wonderful as well. Very bad experience last time we came here. To be honest we're over Joe mommas. We used to come here all the time but the past few times we've noticed a trend. If we order something and it doesn't come out right there's a male server or runner who takes it and then brings back the same item but in less quantity. I don't know if he's eating some of it or not but the way he acted I wouldn't put it past him. There is also a waitress female with glasses and a scale tattoo on her arm who has been kind of rude the past two times. On our last visit a week ago we ordered our usual. I asked for a water with lemons. I got one lemon. That's it just one. She never checked in on us and just seemed to be having a bad day. My wife ordered extra crisp bacon. It's supposed to come with 4 pieces: the male server who wears a hat brought her a plate with 5 raw pieces. She sent it back. He seemed annoyed. She did say extra crispy not raw. When her plate came back it had 3 pieces on it. A standard is 4. Meat is the most expensive thing on most menus and that includes bacon. Our other server brought my food and it was luke warm like it had been sitting. My wife never ate her food she sat there until our waitress came back and she mentioned it to her that it's supposed to come with 4 pieces. The waitress said quote what do you want me to do? My wife said well can you just make someone aware of it? No apology or anything she didn't even offer to bring another piece out. It's more the principal of things. I also had the same issue the previous visit with the same waiter when I asked for crispy bacon he did the same thing but was a jerk about it. He wanted to take my entire plate I said no I'm eating this while I wait. I put the bacon on another plate and he begrudgingly took It. I don't know what's going on but this place has really pissed both of us off . We will gladly drive in to downtown Boise and spend More money at moons cafe because the service is top notch. Also make sure if you order a half order of something they don't charge you for the full. And ask if there is a price to substitute. This is a solid 4 star breakfast joint we have been to a few times now while visiting Boise Id. Be forewarned this place is super popular so there can be a wait but the wait is worth it. The staff here is super friendly and on every visit the service has been great. They also have a great breakfast selection including some lunch options. We have tried multiple things here and some of our favorites were the Joe Mamas omelette and the green eggs and ham special. Today was a little more basic with eggs, potatoes and toast and the Cali benedict which consisted of english muffin, grilled tomatoes, avocado and hollandaise with a side of house potatoes. This was such a simple but delicious dish. Plus a big bonus is they have a bar so perfect for brunch or don't judge what time it might be lol ...I ordered the spicy bloody mary and was absolutely delicious. My wife and daughter split the champagne flight with lots of juice options which their favorites would be the huckleberry and pineapple. But another warning this is no ordinary flight because it's a whole bottle of champagne so perfect for sharing but for a single person consumption would be a day wrecker. Haha! On my visit to Meridian, Idaho, my friends and I visited the popular brunch locale, Joe Momma's, as it was able to accommodate our large party and, after glancing at the menu, had food we could all enjoy with all our various preferences. My personal brunch preference is to stick with more healthy, but also filling options. So I ordered the egg white Denver Omelette combo. It included thr aforementioned egg white omelette, house potatoes, and a biscuit for $11.99. I wish there were more veggies in my omelette. There was only like 1/3 of a green pepper in there and maybe a couple bits of diced onion. Also, the egg white omelette tasted a bit too rubbery and lacked some spices, which would have been nice to have. The potatoes were crispy and perfectly oily. No notes there. It was nice to see visible red skin still on these little spuds. The biscuit had that distinctive Pillsbury biscuit smell and taste - not my favorite kind of biscuit as I was hoping for a more homestyle, buttermilk biscuit. In the end, the food was fine and the menu is accommodating. In my party, I was the only one who didn't finish their food so other options on the menu might be better than my choice. I love this place! It's clean, the floors the booths everything was clean! And maybe the best part if it's the weekend you've gotta try the flight of mimosas if your going in the morning! I was not expecting 4 full size glasses of mimosas but that is what I got! Sad today I was unsuccessful in finishing them all but I did a pretty good job lol! They were delicious and you got to pick whatever flavor you wanted mixed in with your bubbly! I had regular oj, raspberry, huckleberry, and something else delicious that I forgot the name of lol!
