Papa Joes Trash Taters and pancake
Katrina T.

We've lived here for over a year and finally tried Joe Momma's! We've driven past so many times and it's a cool looking place so we've talked about wanting to try and finally did! It's a very welcoming restaurant-- feels more like walking into someone's big log cabin! Even had a fire going on this chilly 25° morning! The menu has a lot of options even though it's "only" breakfast and lunch. After looking over the menu for several minutes, we finally decided on Papa Joes Trash Taters with homestyle potatoes and a pancake. I'm really glad we shared! Holy smokes! The meal was huge! The pancake covered the entire plate it was on. The trash taters were filled with green peppers, onions and cheese (we ordered them without the mushrooms)-- absolutely no skimping on ingredients! We ended up taking most of the pancake home! We WILL be back, probably for lunch next time. Their tri tip dip sounds good!

Great food and good prices I had the three meat hash and she had the stuffed blueberry French toast. They were both fantastic

Birria Bennie

The service was great. The waitress was attentive and kind. The ambiance was nice and everything was clean. We ordered beignets and they were not good, they were too fried. I ordered the birria Bennie and the meat was sweet, which I don't enjoy for birria. The potato's were amazing though. My husband got an omelet, which was good. The pancake was massive and yummy. I will come back though to try something different and I'll update here how it goes.

Large portions, and that pancake???

Had heard that Joe Momma's was good so I brought my wife for breakfast on the Friday before Labor Day. Very crowded but the restaurant is large and we were seated at a table right away. Just as well, the booths looked a little cramped. Ambiance is rustic cabin, with a combination of booths and tables in the main section and another section with bar height tables. Our young female server was nice. She provided average service. I got the corned beef hash with potatoes and eggs. You have the option of a pancake and I chose it. The portions are large and, as you can see, the pancake is huge. Good value for the cost. The corned beef was Ok but I've had better. It was a little dry. The coffee is not worth a second cup. The OJ is fresh squeezed, very nice, but my wife said it was a little sour. I thought it tasted fine. All in all, Joe Momma's is a good choice for breakfast. Can't speak to their lunch menu. We will be back.

This is my second time at this joint. My first visit was chill. Service was great, food was good and the vibe was nice. Unfortunately, today's visit was not the same. I knew it was going to be hella crazy since it's Sunday. Everyone goes to brunch on Sundays. I wish I would have known about the call ahead seating option. I think it would have saved us so much waiting time. We got there shortly after 10. We were placed on the waiting list. The hostess told us an hour wait. Pretty generic for every breakfast joint in town. We waited, waited and waited. I did check in with the rude hostess to see where we were in the table rotation. According to the rude hostess, there were still 13 tables a head of us after waiting for almost an hour. I'm just curious, how do they rotate those who call ahead and those who have been sitting/ waiting in the lobby? There weren't 13 tables worth of people in the waiting area. I honestly didn't care to hear her explanation about the 13 tables after her being rude. The hostess sets the tone for your dining experience and she did a poor job at setting a good one. Damien took care of us today. It did take a minute for him to get to us. Understandable since he was serving multiple tables. Since we had so much time waiting, we all knew what we wanted. Damien took our drink and food orders at the same time. After all that was done, drinks came out shortly. We worked on our coffee, hot coffee and juices. For breakfast I ordered the Classic Breakfast with bacon. I also had them slap some country gravy on my hashbrowns. But for 2 bucks, you might as well ask for it on the side. You'll get more bang for your buck. The eggs were fried med and were perfect. They hashbrowns were crunchy and golden! The country gravy was a nice addition to the hashbrowns. It wasn't too thick and chunky. The bacon was my favorite part! Wasn't overly crunchy. It had a great bite to it! And it was nice and salty. The French toast was topped with a salty butter. I actually loved the salty butter cause it created a nice sweet and savory combo when the syrup was added. Damien did a good job taking care of us. He did check up on us once while we were eating, he dropped off fresh napkins. After we wolfed our breakfast down cause we waited damn near 2 hours for it, he got us squared away with boxes and our bill. Damien also said that it was abnormally busy today. Clearly, with the wait, the unprofessional hostess and the wait on the food, they weren't prepared to handle this kind of chaos. After we paid and packed our leftovers up, we headed out the front door. Of course the rude hostess was standing there. Didn't say thank you or good bye. Such a shame really to have that kind of negativity at your front door handling your guests. Food was great, Damien was nice but your hostess really lowered the bar from 4 to 3 stars.

Huge chicken Sandwich. Super moist and tasty, crunchy breading.

We eat here probably 20x per year for past 3yrs. Service is always good and sometimes great. If you know what and how to order the value is there, most meals here feed two. Go to is the three meat hash with pancake for the side. Pancakes are the best in town and HUGE. Probably 6-8oz of cooked meat in hash per serving. Even the iced mocha is great and $2 cheaper than Starbucks. To all the 1-3 star reviews I ask, then whey is there always a 1hr waitlist on weekends if it's that bad. Maybe it's you.

Sadly, I don't want to come here anymore. Not just because the hit & miss consistency with service - I have a whole other dealbreaker out in their parking lot- Seriously? You can't come up with a few bucks to have a cardboard dumpster? It ALL goes to the landfill- Not Cool Joe Mamma's!!

We had a wonderful breakfast experience! This place is poppin' for a Monday morning. We waited 15 minutes for a table and then we were in and out within 45 minutes after being seated. Great service, we had today's bar tender as our waiter, he was great. Our food was delicious, coffee is great and the Cappuccino I ordered was wonderful as well. Great feel inside, a lot of people talking and enjoying their breakfast but it wasn't too loud. Has a comfortable country feel to the place. Thank you Joe Momma's!

We did have to have a small wait. I love the fact that they were busy! Nothing makes me happier than seeing a local business thrive! It was a little over 10 minutes of wait time. No problem, we chilled in the car till we got our text to come in. We were sat, got coffee and juice ordered and checked out the menu. We were both hungry so everything looked good. My husband decided on a stack of pancakes with chocolate chips and a side of biscuits and gravy. I got the Big boy omelet with Moe Joe's potatoes. Our server, I believe her name is Kendra, was super sweet! I have served her before when she came in and ate my at family's restaurant. She was fabulous as a guest and fabulous at taking care of us today. I had requested a fresh cup of half and half that wasn't used my multiple guests. I'm still bring careful with my new kidney. With no hesitation, she gladly gave me a fresh cup of half and for my coffee. I appreciate her kindness so much. Food came out and booooyyyyy did everything look amazing! My husband's pancakes were fluffy and had plenty of chocolate chips. The biscuits were covered with gravy. My omelet was massive and was also covered in gravy. I was ready to tear into them potatoes! They were nice and charry. I know this meal is about to hit! I don't think I said a word to my husband for 15 minutes. The food was so good! Nothing important needed to be talked about when the food was doing the talking for us. My omelet was stuffed with green peppers, onions and all the 3 meats that came with it. I love love love the gravy on top! The potatoes were crispy on the outside and so soft in the middle. The potatoes with gravy is top tier! Of course I tried my husband's pancakes.... so fluffy and sweet. The biscuits weren't crazy dense. I love that they were airy. I really had to hold back on the pancakes, I still had a whole omelet to work on. But them pancakes were the business! It's sad that this joint is clear across town. I would eat here every week if I could. Everything we had today was so good! Everything I had last time was good! The service is fantastic. I adore Memory and Peyton. Now I get to add Kendra to my list! One of the best breakfast joints in town, hands down! I'm so happy I got to start my birthday week at Moe Joe's! I look forward to coming back very soon.

We had a different server than our usual this time and she was fantastic. I wish I remembered her name to give her a shout out. I took away a star because the food wasn't as great as the last few times I visited. The eggs were overcooked (kind of dry and almost rubbery) and the hash browns were under cooked in the center. Now, if you've read my previous review, youd know how much i absolutely LOVE their pancakes - and I've made it my go-to spot for breakfast because of it. Well, either they changed the recipe or someone messed up this batch. It was nice and fluffy, but bland. That signature deliciously buttery flavor was nowhere to be found. I kept taking bites hoping my tongue was deceiving me... but there were no lies. Just disappointment. This is definitely a deal breaker. Maybe I'll try one more time. If it was just a one-time fluke, I'll update this review and stars. :::sigh:::

I'm not really in favor of having to give your cell phone number to feed into their app so you know when your table is ready, but there you have it. The inside is pretty cool if you are into that "converted warehouse" feel of exposed beam crossed with a country kitchen feel. Tables aren't crammed together, definitely a sense of space. There are booth options as well. And as I prefer, no TVs. There were 2 groups of 14 that were served during our visit, so they can definitely accommodate larger parties. Our server rarely checked in, took 10 minutes to refill coffee after we requested a top off (she forgot), and never ended up refilling out water. The coffee we did get was good though. As always, I'm a hollandaise connoisseur as the foundation for perfect Benedict - my go to breakfast item. So I asked for a sample before I ordered, and I'm glad I did. The Griddle's hollandaise was curious. It was clearly about 25-50% powdered mix (which tastes like nasty beef gravy) with the balance being added clarified butter and a very strong dose of lemon. It was marginal, but good enough. So, I went with the crab cake Benedict. The crab cakes were a bit "fishy," so the strong lemon flavor was a plus. After flagging down our server, I requested a new poached egg as one of them arrived hard boiled. (I want runny yolks as hard boiled are too chalky for my taste.) The replacement egg was delivered very quickly. My guest had the banana Texas french toast special with added bacon and scrambled eggs. Bacon was nice and thick, nicely cooked. Scrambled eggs are pretty much just that. The french toast did have great body to it, but I'm not a huge banana fan. Still enjoyed it though. I would consider this an option for a revisit.

The lettuce and veggies in the salad were incredibly fresh and crisp, and it was tossed in a delicious, Greek-style dressing that complimented the dish perfectly. With its varied menu and delicious happy hour selection this place could be a favorite for a wide variety of the local population. Classy, welcoming with engaging staff. While the selections of taps are diverse and smart for diners, it is the kitchen that is the real star here. We tried the Happy Hour fare (3-5 pm). See the pics for details. We also tried the Kobe sliders, but they fell short of the Chicken Sliders with their tender, juicy cuts of breast. The lineup of drinks are on full display at the bar and with scannable menus. This is a solid place for bringing friends or family for a gathering - yes, like the name suggests "Common". If anyone in your group cannot find a drink and meal to their liking, then you need to replace that person from your social circle or family. 2 hour free parking directly behind the building makes this location much better than the downtown businesses in the liberal ghetto of Boise where they will soon tax the air you breathe. Here, the pricing will not require you to take out a second mortgage as the Boise elites would have you do for eating in their downtown. It is no surprise that more quality dining places are opening in cities like Eagle, Caldwell, Nampa and Meridian where Idahoans can enjoy life.
