We've gone to Le Peep several times, based on the experience we had at Le Peeps in CdA several years ago. That was such a great outdoor breakfast along the river. The Meridian Le Peep experience is nothing like it. The Good - there are gluten free menu items. The Meh - the atmosphere. This is the epitome of a high-ceiling, sound-reflective surface room. When busy, it's almost impossible to have a conversation. The food is ok. Nothing to complain about, but the most recent two visits left us feeling like we didn't really need to go back. The Bad - not to lean into the noise too much, but during our most recent and last visit, one of the staff was talking so loud to her friends at the adjacent table that we had to ask her to lower her voice so we could hear each other. Great place for brunch! We did come on a day that it was short staffed so the wait time was unfortunate but the food was worth it. We ordered the stuffed French toast, Cajun chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, and monte cristo crepe. All the dishes had great flavor and good portions. Only complaint is the stuffed French toast isn't really "stuffed." It's two pieces of French toast with the filling in between. So disappointing! I remember coming here a year or so ago and had the wanderer skillet. It was delicious! I kept raving to people about the crispy potatoes and crispy bacon covered in delicious baked cheese with perfect eggs on top. The skillet was near to overflowing and I took leftovers home. I dreamt about going back! Fast forward to this week. I went in, so excited about my breakfast. My wanderer skillet came out, barely to the brim, mushy potatoes, small soggy bacon and eggs whites that ran clear. It was awful! I ate what I could stomach and then went to Chick fil A an hour later because I was still hungry. Was there a change in policy? Management? Chef? A transition to the Twilight Zone? Needless to say, I have no desire to go back and my fantasizing about the wanderer skillet has come to an end. p.s. To start off I was starting to think me and my wife were going to leave Idaho without having at least one good meal to write about until we stumbled upon Le Peep. This place is in a quiet little shopping center in Meridian. The place is very open and just the right amount of seating. Decor is cute and clean and the staff is super sweet and very attentive. I ordered the mini Greek goddess omelette with a side of potatoes and sourdough toast and wow. I haven't had breakfast this good in forever. My wife ordered the French toast breakfast and that was also amazing. Light fluffy and so flavorful. Will definitely have to come back on our next trip to try more. 10/10 read more

Unfortunately, the third time was not the charm. Visited for my favorite breakfast on October 30. I don't know what happened with this place. I had such fond memories of the food and the ambience. The other two times that I have been here. I've only ordered one thing each time and that is the lox and scrambled eggs. It comes with a bagel. This time although other things looked good on the menu, I still was craving that same dish and I ordered the lox and scrambled eggs. When it came out, something was off the amount of lox on the plate, it was just flecks of fish instead of large chunks of lox. There was no cream cheese for the bagel. I asked for cream cheese for the bagel and was told by the waitress the cream cheese is in the eggs, but she would get me a side anyways. She brought a cup with a small squirt of cream cheese not enough for 1/2 a bagel. I don't know how I was expected to eat the dry bagel with the eggs without some me sort of spread. It was fine, just an awkward start and less food than usual. Really this visit just solidifies my new belief that cooking at home is going to be infinitely better than eating out nowadays. read more

We chose to dine in on an early Saturday morning, and it was quite easy to find parking and get a table quickly. . Pros- A lot of parking and the tables were spread out, so you were not elbows with the next customer. Everything and everywhere appeared clean. Extensive menu and everything came out fast, hot, large portions and delicious. Server Ruth made us feel at home. I must highly recommend the Greek Lemon Chicken Salad. Juicy cooked chicken tons of feta cheese, olives, onions, large artichoke hearts, wonderful pita bread, and hummus. I ordered the housemade iced tea and got a huge glass plus a carafe of iced tea just for myself! Be sure to grab a butter mint when you check out at the register, where cash tips can be taken for your server. . Cons- We weren't made aware of the specials. I truly wish they had some pie for dessert. The salad was overdressed and swimming in oil. Odd soap in the bathroom that would not rinse off your hands. . Very disappointed. Tried to go here for breakfast two weekends ago. We live 3.5 hours up north and needed a patio so we could bring our two frenchies as it was too hot in the car. I went in and asked if they were pet friendly and if so, may we have a seat on the patio. The young hostess stated that they are not allowed to have pets on the patio any longer due to new laws?.... She didn't even ask if they were service animals or anything. She was very short and abrupt. Unfortunately, this place has been crossed off our list of places to try. I loved this spot. We went during peak brunch hours on a Sunday and waited maybe 10 minutes for a table and maybe 15 for our food. They have an extensive menu with options for anyone, including a GF menu. I got the waffle combo, and it was a great amount of food. My mom got the lobster scramble and said it was rich but not overly filling. The space itself was spread out and not too loud. They don't have full booths but have tables with half booths. According to a hostess, they apparently had a meeting to downsize their portions. Ordered hash-browns SIDE for 3.99, and it was about half a cup. This isn't normal in the restaurant industry, as hash-browns are probably the cheapest food item they have. Any other place does at least a cup for a side. Ordered a Belgian Waffle, it wasn't Belgian. They didn't even attempt to make it Belgian style. Asked for eggs cooked over-medium, and I received eggs with runny white. For my side of potatoes, I got about 15 little potatoes. They tasted funky, like they were rotten or something. Not even a child would be full after eating this $15 meal. Our order was to-go, pick up, and they also forgot to give us a drink we ordered. You don't let a customer leave until you know they got what they paid for (I work in the industry). When I've eaten inside, they had horrible impatient service and brought several wrong dishes. Not coming back. Stay away. read more

Finally stopped in after a family member recommended Le Peep. It was pretty hopping when we stopped in and waited about 20 minutes to get seated. Everyone was so friendly and our server was always smiling! They have a variety of items to choose from blintzes to Benedicts and everything in between. They even have a breakfast banana split!! Hmmm, intriguing! They also have a Keto option plus other health choices like egg white omelets. I got the mega bowl with a side biscuit and gravy and first of all the peasant potatoes lacked any kinda of flavor and were VERY disappointing, the biscuits tasted pre-made and I could tell they were just Pillsbury biscuits and the gravy tasted like store bought country gravy. We've been here many times. Food is always good. Service is usually good. Someone gave us a gift card which we used part of and still had money left on it. When we tried to use it last visit the cashier stated "let's see if this will work. Sorry, it's expired". It literally says "no expiration or fees" on the back of the card. It was a busy Sunday and she didn't want to be bothered. We returned this weekday morning, and the place was fairly empty- only about four tables seated. We went for the French Dip on a "gluten free hoagie" as listed on their menu. The waitress delivered sad little sandwiches on regular sliced gluten free bread. When I asked about the hoagie (the whole reason we ordered the sandwich) she said "Oh, you ordered Gluten Free bread." Except the gluten free menu specifically said "gluten free hoagie." We come every few years and sit at the same table and talk about how smitten we were with each other. Today they had this beautiful Valentine's Day Mamosa. It came with this edible glittery color in it that was just gorgeous. The rim of the glass was adorned with sugar and candied hearts dipped in honey. Le Peep has been a staple stop for quite a while. I've been to two locations and am generally really happy with it. Today we started with gooey buns for the table (these are delicious!! Too sweet for a meal, but so good to split.) and mimosas. The mimosas were basically just juice. No champagne to be tasted or seen. For the price ($6.99/glass) that's a bit of a bummer... I had the Baja Benedict, which was okay, but I should have gone another route. The bacon wasn't very crispy, and cut really thick... it just didn't quite hit the spot. The potatoes were the perfect amount of crunch though! And seasoned really well. I was very glad so many came with the breakfast, as they were my favorite part!! I'm disappointed masks aren't required for guests while waiting or walking around, but that's pretty typical in Meridian. We will definitely be back! Got take out breakfast from this spot today. I ordered the gluten free breakfast sandwich. I took one bite of my sandwich and it was so dry I could barely swallow it. The eggs were overdone and there wasn't any sauce or condiments on the sandwich so it was like eating stale bread. I ended up just eating the one piece of bacon out of the sandwich and the potatoes instead. If you're ordering something other than the breakfast sandwich it may be worth stopping here but overall there are better breakfast spots in Boise! read more

I tried to give this three stars, but too many things just not up to par to do that. Wait was normal for a Saturday at prime time, and service was professional and friendly. I had the Mega Skillet, many small complaints that added up to a very "Meh" experience. - Potatoes were underdone, not at all crisp and firm to the bite and underseasoned - my three guests all said the same. And they were 3/4 of the dish, not balanced. - Basted eggs were overdone, half the yolks set firm - note that basted is recommended for many of their menu items, they should be expert in this, especially with a name like "Le Peep." The whole point of basted eggs is runny yolks but set whites. - For a three meat main, I had to search for any. Counted only three small pieces of sausage and bacon was more of a flavoring than a component. - You're charging me $15 for my entree, give me a fork I can actually eat with. These are about the cheapest cutlery you can provide, fork was 3/4 of an inch wide, couldn't even keep any food on it. - Skillet doesn't come with toast? A slice of bread is a dime. Most other egg breakfasts have it, including the ones that come with potatoes. Again, this just emphasizes the fact that this meal is a pile of average spuds with not much else. My advice to Le Peep - this doesn't take much to fix. Don't rush potatoes. Color and crisp is important. Cut down on the potatoes on skillets so the balance is better - and take the savings and add toast. Pay attention to the eggs, they should be the one thing you always get right. read more

We were in Boise for the night and our trusty Yelp app helped us find another awesome breakfast spot. I got an original breakfast and asked for my potatoes and bacon crispy, and they were perfect. My son got stuffed french toast, and it had ricotta and cream cheese in it with orange and lemon zest. It was unique and very tasty! It was probably my favorite thing on the table.
