Tenders & Waffle
Clara R.

Better than Dave's and not owned by Drake. I saw it over by Top Golf and i've been wanting to try it. It's pretty decent! I got the 2pc tenders and waffle with the medium rub. The waffle is nice and fluffy without being too sweet, and the chicken is nice and juicy with a rub that adds just a little after-kick. The house sauce is delicious, a little tangy, but not spicy. Service was great! The girl running the counter was very friendly and helpful, our order was out pretty quickly. The place has a spunky vibe with artwork of animated racecar drivers and vids playing of a car show they hosted at their Vegas location. If you're in the area and in the mood for fried chicken, i recommend it!

My husband and I love Houston TX Hot Chicken! Every time we've visited, the service and quality have been consistent. The service is attentive, friendly, and fast. Their Original Chicken Sandwich and Loaded Fries are delicious! I also recommend trying the Lemonade Slushy - it's refreshing! We especially love their Cilantro sauce so check that out too. The medium spice is tolerable and if you can handle Hot Cheetos, I'd suggest you go up a level or two for the spice. All in all, I highly recommend coming here if you're in the area and/or in the mood to try out a new chicken sandwich joint.

The treasure valley chicken wars continue. Service here was stellar. The employees are friendly and engaging. At 6pm during dinner rush I had my meal fresh within ten minutes. The restaurant is clean and more modern, much like many of the other fast food areas. They do have an LED color changing counter top you can sit at which was a fun addition. I ordered the original hot chicken and one tender combo with added cheese sauce to the sandwich and a "spicy" heat lvl which was a habanero pepper sauce. Their hottest spice was a carolina reaper/scorpion pepper blend but in a dust form. The coleslaw was surprisingly really good and on the chicken sandwich was a great compliment with the heat of the habanero. The cheese sauce, I wish was a little sharper on flavor but it got the job done. The brioche bun was one of the best I've had. The crinkle cut fries and the seasoning blend they used for that was really good too. I also ordered their chocolate milk shake and it was rich and flavorful. The only complaint I have about this chicken is it lacked any crunch you expect from fried chicken tenders. All the flavors were there but it was like it was fried and then steamed under the warmer so it lost the crunch. If they can fix that, this would be a five star yelp review as they have landed everything else superbly. I will definitely be back again and next time also try the waffles on the menu :)

We came in on a Saturday afternoon with a pretty large group. They were able to handle our order without any mistakes and our food came out pretty quickly - I think it was under 10 minutes. I was pretty impressed that everything tasted really good, and the spice levels are no joke! I really liked both the Original Hot Chicken sandwich and the Tenders & Slaw. The Medium spice level was just right in my opinion and has a really nice flavor. I also tried the Spicy heat level, which was very spicy but did not have a great flavor to it. It almost tasted like a chemical spice. The cucumber watermelon lemonade in slushy form is fantastic! I also really like the blueberry lavender flavor. And if you can't decide which one you want they'll let you sample the different lemonade flavors to help you decide. It's so refreshing, especially after eating some spicy chicken. The only issue I had is that the space is very small, so it can be hard to find seating. There are only about 5 tables inside and some counter seating. I think there are also a few tables outside, but it's not a realistic option for the colder months. It's not a dealbreaker though, I don't mind eating in the car ;)

By far my favorite chicken place around. The chicken is perfectly seasoned and always fresh. Would love for them to open up other locations with drive throughs. I will be back to try other menu items.

Nice lunch spot in the newly developing area near Eagle and I-84. It's very clean, staff was friendly when we walked in, and the ordering process was seamless. We waited about 15 minutes for a sandwich and salad, too long in my opinion. At the time, we were the only ones in there. Food was delicious and the heat levels, in my opinion, are spot on. I went medium and it tasted as I expected. Staff seemed a bit discombobulated at times but that's expected with new place. Good sandwich, pretty much the same as other places that serve the same. Nothing stuck out good or bad, will try again down the road.

PSA: Houston TX hot chicken in Meridian is yummy yum yum . It's a bit hidden but worth the drive and the walk (if you don't get a close parking spot). The tables and chairs are so comfy, the music was spot on. The inside environment 10/10. Shout out to the manager who helped us out and guided us in what flavors to pick for being first timers. We ordered the Original Chicken Sandwich, Cheesy Chicken Sandwich, 2 tenders and a tortilla soup. All were fabulous. The original was our favorite (mild) and be warned on the spicy level because that tender was spicy . Finally, the tortilla soup was soooo yummm and only $4.99. The ingredients were fresh and sufficient enough to fill you up. We will definitely be coming back to try other items on their menu.

Medium spice hot chicken meal + extra tender.

Friendly staff, tasty food, plenty of parking. Music was a tad loud. Other than that it was a great experience. I got the medium spice level which was perfect. The sauce was nice and the fries were crispy and hot with a light dusting of spice but not overpowering the flavor. I also tried a bite of my friends HOT chicken tender which I have to say was HOT. The spice lasted about a minute in the mouth which is good so it doesn't build up too much. Solid Hot chicken addition to the valley.

Original combo

Absolutely love this place. I wish I had more friends who appreciate spicy food, but I think the balanced flavors might just convert a few. The staff is great, super enthusiastic and they keep the place spotless. Bonus- ITS OPEN LATE. That right there is a major win for anything in the Valley lately.

I got the surf n turf which was a 8 oz Waygu teriyaki top sirloin with 3 tempura prawns with coconut sauce and mashed potato. I asked for medium and it was perfect red center and the teriyaki sauce on top was perfect and all the guys agreed. The prawns are the same prawns as the appetizer just 3 with the plate, but the coconut sauce was great! Creamy and coconuty! Mashed potatoes were really good no complaints, soft and not buttery but still tasty. The guys I was with got the vanilla bean crembrule and the chocolate lava cake and there was nothing left so that tells you how good both were! I'm usually on top of it for photos but forgot this time and only have receipt as proof, looks like I'll just have to go back.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to order food because we had to catch a movie. However, during our visit, we overheard who we believe to be one of the owners (his photos were displayed on the wall) speaking poorly about employees and referring to them as "idiots." That alone was disappointing, but hearing it within earshot of customers felt extremely unprofessional. As a long-time business owner myself, I firmly believe you are only as strong as your team. Respecting employees -- especially publicly -- is critical to a healthy work environment and strong customer experience. It was uncomfortable to witness and ultimately the reason we won't be returning. I genuinely felt sorry for the staff working that shift. Additionally, it appeared that both owners may have been drinking while on shift, which also felt unprofessional. One of them did approach us and seemed very sweet, but after overhearing the earlier comments, it unfortunately changed the entire atmosphere for us. The overall ambiance was decent, and Alex did a great job. It's just disappointing when leadership undermines what could otherwise be a positive experience.

The thing that jumped out at me was the photo of the burger, now call me crazy but I think at this point I can look at a menu, photos of food and then the reviews to guide me. Yelp hasn't failed me yet! The first thing was walking in the door there were two hostess who smiled and greeted me. We were seated at the bar since there were just two of us. I ordered the Crave burger with bacon and my guest ordered the house salad with tortilla soup. Everything was excellent! The burger was juicy, flavorful, the bacon was perfectly crispy, Smokey and the white cheddar cheese was the perfect compliment! Now let's talk about the bun, I typically don't eat burger buns but this one was the exception to the rule. It was homemade obviously, buttery, light, and toasted to perfection. I ate both of them! Hahahaha! I felt so dirty typing that the French fries were crispy, just the right amount of salty and fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside. My guest agrees with everything in this review. The house salad was fresh, the vinaigrette was homemade and delicious and the tortilla soup was even great! The ambience was a place you could have a business meeting or take your significant other on a date night. There is literally something for everyone on their crave-able menu ( see what I did there?) Our server who was the bartender kept our glasses full and made sure he checked on us often. I found my new burger spot in Eagle, Idaho?!?! Five stars.

We finished our walk and made our way to the restaurant. This will be our 6th year having lunch here. Trying to keep our traditions alive. As a courtesy, we called the day before to let management know that they will be expecting a party of 20. This joint charges 30 bucks per person for reservations as a deposit. 30 bucks?!? It's quite humorous really, 30 dollar deposit is more than a majority of their meals they charge. The manager on duty last year told us to call to let them know for a heads up but not necessarily make a reservation. And of course that manager doesn't work there anymore. The manager I spoke with was a complete joke. "Saturday is our busiest day". We'll, if it's your busiest day than why aren't you properly staffed? "We can't just serve you in 2 seconds". Never have I asked to be served in 2 seconds. What kind of management team do you have running this joint? Clearly unprofessional clowns. We showed up at opening. Clearly I wasn't taken seriously since the hostess had no clue about our large party coming. No tables were set up. "You should have came at 11:30". I didn't know that we had to accommodate to the manager and his timing. He set up our tables and didn't even bother with us the whole time we were there. Food was good. I had the salmon. I had asked for my salmon to be overly cooked. With my new kidney, I can't have anything like fish and beef rare. My fish was not cooked the way I asked and had to be sent back. I expressed to the server if needed out more than well done. So honestly, I don't think the cook took my request seriously. Last year eating at the restaurant was a crap show. This year is a bigger crap show. So many better restaurants in town that don't have this ridiculous reservation fee and yet this joint does. Management here is on the same tier as a trash can. Honestly, after this last visit, we might consider going to another joint to start a new tradition. My family and our money is worth more than the disrespect management gave us.
