    Chicken fried steak

I had the chicken fried steak with the red flannel potatoes and an English muffin. We sat outside which was very comfortable and were able to people watch the city. Our server was very polite and didn't rush our experience at Goldy's Bistro's.

I was really wowed with the artwork in this restaurant. I came with friends before our tour of the Capitol building. There weren't much in the way of vegan offerings, I was just going to get a toasted plain bagel with hot tea. The ladies at the counter said they could add peanut butter and bananas to my bagel. It hit the spot. The tables and seats were comfortable to sit and enjoy breakfast with friends!

First and foremost--outdoor seating = "I'm there." Popped into Boise for Treefort, only here for one day, wasn't expecting to get quick service at 1000 on a Saturday, but I showed up and got seated within one minute. My server (Grace) was absolutely impeccable--she was incredibly attentive and efficient, knew the menu like the back of her hand, and was able to provide comprehensive answers about the coffee (which was...okay). I noticed she had two sections, indoor and outdoor, and was helping the barista, too. For some reason, she still found the time to let me know my food was cooking (it took maybe 20 mins for my food to come out--on a busy Saturday morning, that makes total sense). I can't lie; I had a truly excellent experience and can't wait to come back to Boise so I can eat here again.

We enjoyed a Saturday morning breakfast at Goldy's on the recommendation of several colleagues. We arrived a bit later than planned and thus were confronted with a quoted 20 minute wait. We went around the corner to their coffee shop to wait for our table. The wait ended up being closer to 30 minutes. We were shown to our table which was upstairs. It is very cozy in the restaurant--tables are close together. The menu is very much what you'd expect from a breakfast spot with sweet and savory options and the availability to create your own combo. Menu prices are not cheap--most things are around $20. That being said, portion sizes are good and the ingredients are quality. Service was okay. Lots of staff running around, almost too many for the size of the restaurant. The wait for food seemed a little long as well, however we weren't in a hurry.

The line was out the door on a Sunday morning, but we only waited about 15-20 minutes for a table for two. Once inside, we realized there are actually two floors of seating. Our food took around 30 minutes to arrive, and just as we started to wonder if our order was forgotten it showed up, and it was well worth the wait! We shared: Chicken Breakfast Burrito - light, fluffy, and delicious. Scramble Breakfast with Sweet Potato Hash Browns - packed with zucchini and sun-dried tomatoes, and those sweet potato hash browns were incredible and it was our first time trying them. Upgrade side: Blueberry Pancake - hands down the best pancake ever! Perfectly crisp on the edges, soft inside, and filled with big, juicy blueberries. If we weren't leaving Boise early the next morning, we'd have come back just for those pancakes. Goldy's is an outstanding breakfast spot and definitely worth the wait!

We went here for breakfast on Labor Day. They were very busy. Even though they were very busy and running around, everyone wad very nice and appeared to Yale caste of everyone dining there very well. We sat outside since the weather was prefect. I did the eggs Benny and my husband did a bacon cheeseburger (he doesn't like breakfast unless it is bacon and potatoes haha). The burger looked great and he said it tasted very good. The bacon was amazing looking. He also said the potatoes were excellent... which it showed with how quickly they disappeared from his plate. The eggs Benny was tasty but the hollendaise sauce could use a little more flavor. The ham made the dish though. I did the mimosa flight as well. The strawberry mimosa was the best. Enjoyed the place, the people and the food. Would love to go back in the future.

Good food! Great service. We were seated right away because it was just two of us and got lucky because when we left - lots of people waiting. I got 2 eggs, toast, hash-browns, and 1 pancake. I got sourdough bread and a blueberry pancake. The pancake was super fluffy and delicious. My eggs were cooked exactly how I ordered and they had put some seasoning over it which was good. I ordered a "hug in a mug" coffee which is cinnamon flavor. I asked for it iced - I could've sucked that down in like 3 gulps - it was delicious. Good food. It did take longer to get food than most breakfast places but we weren't in a rush.

I have been wanting to come to this joint for a long time but with other local joints opening up and my husband's favorite breakfast joint we frequent, coming here was challenging. My friend wanted to meet up for breakfast and asked for some options. I threw out Goldy's and Goldy's was what we both decided on. It's late morning on a Tuesday, I didn't know how busy it was going to be. Walking in, I was greeted and was told my table options. It was nice to be able to get in so quickly. I have heard this joint can have quite the wait time but not today. Little did I know they have an upper dining area, I thought that was pretty cool. I opted for a table on the main floor. I was quite mesmerized by the chandelier with angel wings all over the bulbs. It was a beautiful piece to look at. I got my coffee dropped off right away. My friend and I did breeze over the menu for a while. We were like two chickens clucking trying to catch up. Our server was really patient and gave us a minute to buckle down and decide on what we wanted. For breakfast I got the 3 egg omelet with spinach, asparagus and feta. I passed on the bread and potatoes for fresh fruit. Everything came out hot! My omelet was busting out of the seams with asparagus. It looked hearty! You can see the feta partially melted on top of it. My fruit plate was vibrant! It was beautifully plated with berries, citrus, pineapple and apple slices. The berries were fresh and tart. The strawberry was so sweet. The blueberries were firm and tasty. The orange was fresh but bland. I didn't get to try the grapefruit but it smelled devine. The pineapple was my favorite! I had about half of my omelet! It was massive. I loved how much veggies was in the middle of it. The spinach and asparagus was cooked perfectly! I don't know what it was about the texture of the eggs but I didn't really like it. The eggs were stiff and not really fluffy. It was foamy like. I have had some omelets where the eggs are fluffy but in this case it wasn't like that. It was still good but it's probably something I wouldn't order again. I'm happy I finally got to check out this joint. It's a landmark for Boise and I can see why. It's tiny, vibrant and fun plus it's been around for years. I love the vibe here very much! Our server did a great job taking care of us today. Coffee was hot and the food was fresh. It was a great day to check it out. I finally get to mark Goldy's off my to do list.

The staff were so nice and the vibe was top notch. The food was good, nothing spectacular, but good for a local diner vibe. I felt like it was a little overpriced.

This place was amazing. The coffee was perfectly made and the food was on point. The potatoes were a perfect blend of crispy and soft. Very small place but friendly and welcoming!

This place has only ever been amazing. It's the only place I will get a country fried steak from and I'm obsessed with the chai latte. Service is always great. My only wish would be that the restaurant wasn't so tiny.

We saw a young couple get frustrated with how packed it was and left, but what do you expect on a Friday night, this isn't a fast food place. We stuck around and placed our order. Got lucky because they only do Fish Fry's on Fridays! Ordered the prawns and fish, got two order of buffalo wings, Mac and cheese, chipotle wrap, and kids burger. Fish was amazing!! Tasted Fresh! Not frozen! I was really not sure what to expect and faced my fears and ordered it. I can say it was some of the best fried fish I've had no lie. I was super pleased with it! Next time I'll try just the fish and chips in hopes that it comes with one more piece. The prawns were skinny ones and I wasn't too fond of them but the fish the main dish was perfect! Wife and bro-in law got an order of wings each and they were both super happy with them, I snagged 3 and would say top 5 wings I've had. Sister got the chipotle wrap and she said it was really good! Wife also got the mac n cheese with bacon and her and the kids loved it. Kids burger was able to split between two kids and they tore it up along with the mac n cheese! We had a great experience! Just be patient with staff and cooks, they get bogged down and you have to expect that or be ready to order fast when you're there.

Plan to circle the block several times if you want to be close. Otherwise plan on parking and walking. When we walked in, 5:30-ish on a Thursday evening the bartender told us to sit wherever we wanted. There were two booths and a couple of other tables available. It took several minutes for anyone else to acknowledge us and bring us menus. When asked, the waitress didn't know what beers were on tap, but did have them all written down. That was helpful. Also seemed to have a good selection of "house" cocktails, which would be fun for happy hour or a game day. Vibe is definitely sports bar on a college campus, but the patrons were not college-aged. As others have commented, great overhead music. While we were there it was 70s classic rock. Now for the food - all great! Hubby gor the finger steaks, and while the breading looked very dark, he said they didn't taste burnt or overcooked. They came with BBQ sauce and an Asian-ish sweet-chili-horseradish sauce. Not cocktail sauce and very weird. I got The Grateful Shed burger with tots. It was delicious! Served on a brioche bun that could not stand up to the burger and how juicy it was. But that's what a fork is for. The candied bacon on it was so good. And the tots! Crispiest I've have in all of the treasure valley! It did take quite a while for the food to come out. I had a good view of the kitchen so I know it wasn't the wait staff. And its never good to see tables that ordered after us get their food before us. That's the only reason for a 4 star rating. If you aren't in a hurry, and maybe don't mind walking for parking, I'd definitely recommend The Shed!

My mom called ahead for a reservation in their private room and received confirmation it was all set, but when we got there, the host said there was no record. Instead of being kind and understanding that things can get mixed up, the host suggested my mom never made the reservation, even after she shared the name of the host she spoke with previously. Eventually we were given a table in that room but it was barely put together. We had to ask them to remove some of the tables believe 3 tables was more than what we needed, and the demeanor towards us felt as though we were an inconvenience. The food took a long time to come, as did the servers. I kept having to ask for more water and remind them because they'd forget. I just went there recently for rehearsal dinner, and the service was not good. The appetizers took almost an hour to come out, drink orders weren't taken for a half an hour, and the food didn't come until almost 2 hours. I wasn't the only one who noticed a lack of attentiveness. The food was average, for the price point it was not worth it. I know what it's like to have an off day, and I worked in the food industry as well. I'm truly not a person who leaves negative reviews because I know what it's like to have days where i'm not at my best. I've worked when I'm understaffed, operations aren't going as planned, etc. I didn't consider leaving a review until my last visit because the lack of kindness from the servers to everyone and overall poor experience happened again. It's a bummer that something changed, because it really was one of our favorite places to go but given poor experiences (we've had more, just didn't share) considering happening we won't come back.

I'm a sucker for biscuits and gravy and these definitely beat what you would find in a Denny's or IHOP by a landslide on the taste and aesthetic scale! It's super filling since there's so many carbs, but the taters (more like small potato wedges) are actually a clever add-in. They add a slight bit of texture to the mushiness of the gravy-soaked biscuits, and potatoes and gravy are already best friends in terms of food pairings. There's also garnish on top (some sort of greens and cheese) that gives it a nice look and extra flavor. Delicious! I didn't think much of the customer service initially aside from thinking they were super friendly. However, I sat down at one of the tables and took my time eating and people watching. So many people came by the store to talk to the chefs with such familiarity that it felt like this popup was its own restaurant and community. It was the perfect table for our outing. Jerika (I hope I spelled her name right) greeted my friend and I with her beautiful smile. We got some drinks started so while they were being worked on, my friend and I breezed over the menu. I did somewhat enjoy my charboiled salmon at the Eagle Bardenay for my birthday a couple weeks ago. The chefs did undercook my first plate of salmon. The server was kind to take my plate back to have the chefs remake it. The second attempt was appreciated but it was unfortunately a fail. The salmon came out so dry. I get that I wanted it well done but not jerky. But, today's a new day and I was willing to give it another shot. So today, I ordered the salmon with veggies instead of the salad. My plate came out and it looked promising. I love beautiful char marks on my food. The char marks today were perfect. My veggies looked nicely cooked but I could tell that some of the squash was still undercooked by the color. I didn't mind, it's a sign of freshness. As much as I wanted to stare at the prettiness of my food, I was ready to dig in! My salmon was so good! It was perfectly cooked! No raw spots in the middle, it was flaky and moist. It was a fabulous piece of salmon. The sun dried tomato butter is a fantastic add on to the salmon. I honestly could have polished another piece of fish. The chef that cooked my salmon today needs a raise! My lunch was chef's kiss! My friend enjoyed her lunch and her birthday drink! The outdoor patio was so relaxing. My lunch was also enjoyed. Our server was kind and attentive. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday lunch for my deserving friend. I hope that it won't be another 5+ years till I come back. I will need another plate of salmon with that sun dried tomato butter soon.

Emmy is the best server I've ever had. She definitely knows how to put the lid on a salt shaker…read more She tells world class stories and makes the best drinks. I hope her life is full of happiness and rainbows. We visited her on a Sunday after attending a magic show. (The magic table at the Morrison center. Great show. Magical Michael and the Ginger Witch were top class.) The show was magic. Literally. But the experience at double tap was magical. I've never been so pleased with food and stories at the same time. (Other than Cheetahs in Atlanta.) If you're in Boise and you don't go to Double Tap, you need to seek mental help. It's everything you want it to be and more. (Even tho I watched England lose to France here in 2022.) Long story long, check Emmy's schedule and get your butt to Double Tap! Also the fries are legit AF. And they singe the edges of the burger buns. Everywhere should do that.

Nice fun dive bar with very quick service. You can build your own burger with the write-on menu, which is fun and nice so that you can get exactly what you want. Come on in, you won't regret it!
