They have some pretty neat things to look at in the waiting area.

Egg Mann and Earl has been on my go to list for a hot minute. It's not the closest to where we live but we made the drive over. Waking in, I was pretty surprised at all the fun and funky decor. I didn't know what to expect but what I saw very unexpected. It was a pretty cool waiting area. All these different and fun things to look at. You couldn't be bored in that kind of waiting area. Too much stuff to play with. Our server greeted us at the hostess stand. She asked for our names which threw me off since there wasn't a wait. Come to find out, she wrote our names on a little erase board. I thought it was pretty cool! We got sat at a neat booth. There were drawings and different wall art all over. The dining area is just as crazy and fun as the waiting area. Random art work, signs and different dining sets. Chase, our server, guided us through the menu and grabbed our drinks. Coffee was on point today. For breakfast I ordered the Country Benedict. My daughter got the Huevos Racheros with a side of hashbrowns. While we were waiting for our food, we were given a complimentary scone. The scone came out hot! It was coated in cinnamon, sugar and powdered sugar. That baby was delicious! It could have used a dab of butter but without the butter it was still yummy. Shortly after we finished our scone, our food came! Holy cow, my Country Benedict was massive! My daughter's huevos rancheros looked delicious! The hashbrowns were a pretty golden brown. It all looked good! Digging into my meal, one word to describe it is dense. The biscuits was huge but very dense. And then you add a very thick country gravy on top which made it overwhelming thick. I might have enjoyed it if the gravy wasn't so thick. The sausage was savory. My eggs were cooked perfectly. But with all of our combined, it was just too much. Chase did a great job serving us today. She was very attentive and sweet. The restaurant itself is so fun and different. It's not your typical breakfast joint which makes it that much more neat. Overall, it wa a fun experience! I really wish the food would have hit the spot for me but maybe next time I can get something different.

    BOMB FOOD.

Food- yes. So good! The bacon was the best I've ever had. Not oily, dry and crispy. Service - our server was amazing. She was so attentive and great with conversation. Ambiance - the home-y perfect vibe for breakfast food. If I lived in Boise, probably would come here 3x a week.

Okay, stop what you're doing and head to Eggman. The food and service is above and beyond. Expect a line on weekends, but it's worth it. Our waiter Chase was delightful.

Eggmann and Earl is absolutely wondrous! Although most have already known about this incredible breakfast spot for a while now, I had to give them a shoutout once again. So many new fantastical things to see on the walls as well! Hop on into one of the friendliest places on Earth!

Good local breakfast house. They are proud of their house made products. We all enjoyed our breakfast. Service was very friendly and I enjoyed the eclectic decor.

I'm not sure why I haven't reviewed this place yet - it is my favorite restaurant in Idaho. The service is unmatched, food is freshly made and always delicious, and the decor and ambiance make me smile every time I'm there. The staff always make a special effort to make you feel welcomed and they know their menu inside and out, from house made sausage and hollandaise sauce to their specials that come around like fried chicken and waffles (pictured) and chicken fried steak. I usually come in weekly. Thank you Egg Mann and Earl for being the best! And yes, the wait is long sometimes - find a nearby shop or errand to run while you wait. You will never regret it!

It's about once a year, but every time we visit Boise, Egg Mann and Earl is a must. We tend to always have hangover hashbrowns, which are absolutely amazing, but we also try some other things. We usually turn down the puff pastry scone, but this time we had one and loved it. We think about this place often, even when we are not even close to it. We compare it to other brunch places, which usually cannot compare.

So my first time here and I lived it! From the way they ask for your names and make it personal to the in house smoked meats and locally sourced food this place is a MUST visit in Boise. Our server was awesome and her choices and suggestions were on point. The place is quaint and relaxing and the food was delicious with large portions. We will be back!

In town from California...Wanted to find a breakfast place for specialty foods. Wow. We couldn't have found a better place. From the time we walked in Oliver welcomed us with open arms and a sign that was put on our table. He guided us and he was spot on. They give you a scone first which is complimentary. Wow again. Its like having a very large apple biegnet from New Orleans. Just delicious. Hubby ordered the Walrus and I ordered the veggie Benedict and added salmon. I really wish we lived here. This small amazing restaurant would be our go to every time. So may choices.... If you are in Boise, ID I encourage you to go to Egg Mann and Earl...Come hungry...The portions are ridiculous....Hats off to Oliver who gave us the royal treatment and to the cooks who are beyond talented. Thank you for an amazing experience. We are here for 8 more days. We will be back before we leave so we can enjoy another amazing breakfast.

We were passing through on a 2 day move and stopped for what we thought would be a great break from the road. 2 hours later and the biscuits and gravy were not worth it. Not sure why they have awards all over the walls.

Had to try from all the fabulous reviews I read. Dogs not disappoint. Great food made to order, great friendly staff. If you're looking for a new breakfast spot you've got to try it out.

This is an absolute gem of a breakfast place. The food is amazingly delicious and plated perfect. The service is just as high quality as the food. Servers are friendly, polite and very tuned into your needs making you the priority. This place is one of the best breakfast places I've been too, if not the best. We will certainly be back.

Ask the Community - Egg Mann and Earl

    Any outside seating?

No, they're in a strip mall with a small sidewalk outside. There's just not room for it.

Will there be a wait as soon as they open on a Saturday? Or does it get busy at 8:30-9?

Get here early if you can! But worth the wait if you decide to sleep in😂

Do they have Bloody Mary's or Mimosa's?

Yes, they have just launched mimosas!!

Do they have gluten free bread options?

The food is incredibly well seasoned and thoughtfully prepared, and I love that many of the dishes are uniquely served on cast iron plates -- it adds both character and keeps everything hot from first bite to last. The portions are no joke either. We ordered the Big Boy Omelette with their house potatoes and a BLT with fries, and both were outstanding. Everything was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and plated in a way that made it feel like more than just your average breakfast. At one point, I had to stop and ask another patron what they ordered because it completely filled their plate. It was the chicken-fried steak, and they told me it was cooked perfectly. I can eat -- but there is no way I could finish that chicken-fried steak by myself! The service was just as impressive as the food. Our server, Audrey, was on another level of fantastic. She was attentive, friendly, efficient, and genuinely made the experience better. Be prepared to wait -- it gets busy for a reason. The quality, portions, and service clearly draw a crowd, so plan ahead when going for breakfast. We will absolutely be back -- and we hope all the servers are like Audrey!

We had a different server than our usual this time and she was fantastic. I wish I remembered her name to give her a shout out. I took away a star because the food wasn't as great as the last few times I visited. The eggs were overcooked (kind of dry and almost rubbery) and the hash browns were under cooked in the center. Now, if you've read my previous review, youd know how much i absolutely LOVE their pancakes - and I've made it my go-to spot for breakfast because of it. Well, either they changed the recipe or someone messed up this batch. It was nice and fluffy, but bland. That signature deliciously buttery flavor was nowhere to be found. I kept taking bites hoping my tongue was deceiving me... but there were no lies. Just disappointment. This is definitely a deal breaker. Maybe I'll try one more time. If it was just a one-time fluke, I'll update this review and stars. :::sigh:::

So, I don't weep for their need to re-evaluate but realize fans will be disappointed. From the letter on door: "As many know, there has been a significant slowdown in consumer spending, especially in restaurants starting late 2024. We've done our very best to keep prices in line with what makes sense to cover costs and provide full benefits for our amazing staff," the letter said. "However, with sales down across all entities this year, we must re-evaluate our operations and make the necessary difficult decisions to be a sustainable business. Also, for the first time in many years, we recently lost two key people in our organization, and they both were a large part of what made Wild Root special. How crazy that time has truly flown by so fast…read more Moving to different states, new restaurants that have opened by us or the fact we live across town, just a couple reasons to why I haven't been in. But lucky for me, my husband and I were in the area so of course we had to make our way in for brunch. We showed up 45 minutes til close. There was about a 25 to 30 minute wait. We decided to tough it out and kick it. I did ask if we would still get served since we will be sat towards closing. They said yes so we waited. There would be a wait anywhere else so why leave. I just found it so kind that they would be willing to still take us with the restaurant closing soon. It was busy which makes me so happy. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing a local business thrive. While hanging out, I was admiring the fun antiques that were decorated all over the restaurant. Talk about history and charm to this joint. Vintage cans, old cooking utensils, old school packages of Spam. There's so much history in this little venue. It's truly incredible to look at and appreciate. We were finally sat 20 minutes til closing. We got some coffee and apple juice started while we checked out the menu. After drinks were dropped off, we quickly ordered our food. My husband got chicken fried steak and I got the works omelet without the sausage. I believe they replaced it with extra ham. Food came out rather fast since we were the tail end of the day. And boy did everything look so good! My omelet looked massive. I was starving so I was so happy that it was big! The omelet was stuffed with green peppers, onions, ham, bacon and cheese. I also got a hearty side of hashbrowns. My husband got his country gravy that came with his country fried steak on the side for me. I was able to add it to my hashbrowns and omelet. Country gravy and hashbrowns is a top tier combination. And today's gravy and potatoes was money! My omelet was perfection. The onions and green peppers were nicely sautéed. There was a great amount of ham and bacon. The eggs were nicely cooked! Cheese that was in the middle was nice and melty. I ate the whole thing! Did I regret it later, yes but it was worth it! I finished half of my hashbrowns. Crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, these hashbrowns were fantastic! And the country gravy made them that much tastier. My husband enjoyed his breakfast. I most definitely enjoyed mine. Service was fabulous. Coffee was hot and always filled. Today's visit was truly fantastic. I heard that this joint is moving to Orchard. I look forward to coming and checking out the new venue. I know I won't be waiting another 20 years to come back. The food and the service was too good not to come back soon. I look forward to another omelet and one of their huge ass cinnamon rolls!
