Such a quirky and fun place to have breakfast at! There is a wait, but it moves fast and there lots of chairs for you to use while you wait for your table. The decor gives you a lot to look at and puts a smile on your face. Nice touch is the sign with your names waiting at your table. Service is stellar- hostess and waitress are so friendly! I could tell within the first 10 mins of being here that it was going to be a 5 star place! I found this restaurant based on Yelp reviews for brunch spots in Boise. We are here visiting for the weekend and this seemed like exactly what we were looking for! It feels like a fun place from the moment you walk in. They have weird, eclectic decorations everywhere! The longer you look around, the more fun things you can find. Everyone was SO friendly here! I loved that they asked for our names and wrote it on a little white board for our table. All the staff addressed us by name when interacting with us which was such a cute personal touch! Our server, Alexa, was so sweet and down to earth! She gave great recommendations for food and even things to do while in Boise! My husband got tea and I got coffee to start. Alexa treated us to an "Idaho scone" aka beignet that was to die for! I've had beignets from Cafe du Monde in NOLA which is known for some of the best beignets and I thought this one was better! You could taste the butter and sugar cooked together on the bottom and it was delicious. The menu is kind of a la carte so you can create exactly what you want! My husband got The Walrus which is a huge pile of several different breakfast items, including their homemade gravy! I went with the house benedict because I had to try their homemade hollandaise. And of course I upgraded it to try their house made sausage! I got a side of their hangover hashbrowns too. Needless to say, we could not finish everything and each of us had a togo box of food to take with us! Everything was absolutely delicious! So rich, flavorful, and such good flavor combinations. I looooved the cheesy hashbrowns. You can tell that so much time and love goes into making every single item! Service was fantastic. Food was all five stars. I have nothing negative to say about this place except that I wish they had a location in Reno where I live--I have so many friends that would love this place! This place was recommended by the vinyl record store owner. We were so glad that we went. Today was very busy because of Mother's Day celebration. Moms got free mimosas. There was a wait but we were seated in a fairly reasonable amount of time. Service was friendly and attentive. The environment was casual and relaxed. Food was good. Serving size can be shared. Your experiencev starts from the moment you walk in with a very warm welcome. Allie was our amazing server. She made suggestions and shared her favorites with us. We all had different items. Wowza! Southeast Boise's secret breakfast joint! For our February Father/Daughter monthly breakfast we ate at Egg Mann and Earl's place and, OMG, what have we been missing! Always thought this area of town was weak on breakfast options but no longer! We struck GOLD! Situated opposite Timberline HS, Egg Mann is a low key super delicious breakfast hangout behind in the Eastgate Shopping Center on Boise Avenue. We kicked it off with one of their out of this world "sugar scone's"! Try and just have one while waiting so you have room for the humongous breakfast coming your way. Absolutely a must!!! I followed that intro dish with the House Eggs Benedict with bacon and sausage tacking on some Hangover hashbrowns. WOWZA!!! WOWZA!!! Homemade delicious is all I can say to describe this dish. And those Hangover hashbrowns melt in your mouth. Frankly, I was stuffed for the whole day after that meal. Enough for 2 if you are into sharing with a loved one! My daughter ordered the Huevos Ranchos plate. Again, soooo much food. Good for sharing with 2 folks especially after doubling down on the scone! Great flavor and seasoning in this dish. Another excellent choice that will last you all day. Lastly, the gal, Chase (?), serving us was super nice and cheery. Definitely a great person to help you out with this breakfast experience! I'd go as far as saying it has this Elvis/Marilyn Monroe diner-but-not-diner style. I ordered a decaffeinated coffee and they had some and it tasted good. (That's not always the case with decaf.) Well, the staff at Egg Mann and Earl were wonderfully welcoming and totally into their roles as not just wait staff, but guides of the Egg Mann breakfast experience. Our waitress provided clear answers when we asked questions (like "Is the four-egg omelette pretty big?" received an "Oh, yes!" as a reply). That was also refreshing, because it helped us order appropriately. Another fun surprise was when she brought out the Egg Mann version of a scone--it is, apparently, kind of a complimentary breakfast bread. And it was amazing! The owner is so genuine and personal and took our name down for a wait. There's coffee and seating in the waiting area however we headed across the parking lot to grab some Starbucks which was very convenient. About a hourish wait. We were texted when our table was ready and headed on over! Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. They make everything in house so she told us it may take awhile to get food. However they give out the complimentary scone and even a birthday one too with a little chant and candle. I ordered the Breakfast Quesadilla which was HUGE! Lots of leftovers. Not sure what happened as it wasn't that busy, but it took forever to get our food, and we had to ask about our scone which took a while to get. We noticed people seated after us were served, ate, and left before we got food. Honestly, I think our server forgot to put our order in.
