My wife got the Bobavocado waffle. Egg over medium, tons of bacon and avocado. She loved it. Hot chocolate didn't cool down enough to drink during the meal but was still really tasty. We're visiting family from out of town and the pictures here totally got us. It looked so good!! We went right when they opened, so no wait at all. We ordered the Bob Deluxe, Waffle Me Banana, and a latte. I didn't realize they serve Liège waffles, which are apparently way sweeter than regular waffles? There's a big sign explaining it when you walk in, I just didn't know before ordering When I took a bite, it honestly felt like I hit a little sugar ball. It was really sweet. Not bad, just not what I was expecting. Even the savory stuff leaned sweet, and you definitely don't need syrup. If you're in the mood for more of a dessert waffle, you'll probably love it. If you want a more traditional breakfast vibe, I'd go somewhere else. read more

Waffle Me Up specializes in Liège waffles named after the Belgian city in which they were invented. They differ from the classic Belgian waffles because of the heavier yeast-risen brioche batter. But unlike that part of Belgium, this Idaho version is most certainly not eaten plain. And the toppings are remarkably diverse and clever. In a very popular and vibrant store, boisterous crowds enjoy these freshly made waffles with custom ordered toppings. I personally like a good waffle with melted butter and copious amounts of powdered sugar. Unfortunately, cookie butter was the only alternative. And while delicious, it was closer to cold, uncooked batter than the melty goodness I prefer. And their version of a double dose of powdered sugar was what I would call a half dose at home. But it was still a delicious waffle, nonetheless. It's too bad there isn't a station to control your own butter and sugar quantities. But customers would probably abuse that. The waffle itself wasn't quite as good as my expectations after reading the sign's impressive description. But this is an excellent place for breakfast or brunch. read more

Came here yesterday for brunch and really enjoyed it. The menu is very simple which I like and if you don't like waffles this probably isn't your place. They will basically build you whatever kind of creation you want off their menu onto a waffle or choose one of their own creations. I had the Bobs deluxe which was a base waffle with an over easy egg bacon and avocado and drizzled with syrup. Very good blend of sweet and savory. I also had the peanut butter and banana waffle also very good. Both waffles were very much enjoyed and hard to decide my favorite. Inside this place is shared with Boise fry company and has open seating between the places. Very clean inside and well kept with a good amount of high and low tables to choose from. What was the tipping scale for a 4 star was the service yesterday 11/19 at approx 11:30a. The young blonde male working was one of the nicest and friendliest people I have encountered in a long time. He made such an impression that my 19 yo Boise state student who recommended this place asked if we had the same guy yesterday and was a topic of our dinner conversation. In a time when businesses are strolling to find great help you have landed a gem. I wound highly recommend and will for sure be coming back. read more

I'm giving 4 stars, but 3.5 is more accurate for me. This place shares a space with Boise Fry Co, so if you just have to have some purple fries while you're here--you're in luck! We came in at 9:45 on the Saturday of family weekend--no small feat finding a place for 8 to eat! (Or any number, for that matter....) the menu offers sweet and savory waffles, about 4 varieties of each. Don't come here looking for something light or healthy to eat; better just to give in to your indulgence. They have quite a few smaller tables and a number of 8-tops and we had no trouble securing a table. Husband and I split the Bob Deluxe (egg, melted havarti, bacon, maple syrup and basil), no need for the avocado, IMO, because we also had lunch plans and didn't want to be too full. It was a bit small to split, so I guess if you're looking for light, this is the way. The flavors were tasty and went well together. The basil was a really nice touch. The waffle was more dense and chewy than I was expecting or wanting. I prefer a lighter fluffier, crispy on the outside waffle. But it looks like they are intentional and how they create their waffles. All in all, it was good, and I recommend giving it a try. read more

Great location right in downtown Boise close to the Capitol Building. We went on Monday morning and got were able to find street parking. You get 20 minutes and then you can get up to 2 more hours for about $5. When you go in, you order at the counter and then your food will be brought out to you. They share a space with Boise Fry Co. My husband and I ordered the chicken and waffles and my daughter ordered the kids Winnie #2 meal. My meal was delicious. The breading on the chicken had a good crunch and flavor and the chicken itself was moist as the waffle was sweet and delicious. My daughter loved her meal, especially since it included some of her favorites: strawberries, Nutella, and bacon! Staff was super friendly and the restaurant itself was clean with a lot of seating. Dare I say the best waffles I have ever had? I dare. They were absolutely perfect in every way. My wife & split the sweet snd savory to make sure we tried a little bit of "everything" and I'm so glad we did. It was the perfect combo. The service/server was awesome, she helped us sub Nutella for cookie butter because we were torn on wanting strawberries over bananas, but not huge Nutella fans. Such. A. Good. Call. The only reason I have to take away a star is because we really wanted coffee with our waffles, but as soon as we saw a $2 up charge for alternative milk we had to back out, that's an insane jump in price for a $5 coffee & we can only drink oat or almond, so that's a bummer! Hurray for waffles! This restaurant is an awesome breakfast option in downtown Boise. It shares a space with Boise Fry Co, but there's plenty of seating in the bright, open space, so you don't even notice there are two restaurants in one shop. The waffles here are amazing. At first they look a little small, but they are piled with toppings and so dense and intensely flavored that you don't need a huge portion to be satisfied. The waffles are offered as either sweet, savory, or a mixture of both. For sweet, you can get nutella and strawberries, banana and cookie butter, or design your own from a number of toppings like syrup, whipped cream, or a seasonal choice like caramelized apples. Savory choices feature the BOB, which is syrup, basil and bacon. They can take that model and add avocado, a fried egg, or remove the bacon for a vegetarian version. The avocado I was served with creamy and perfectly ripe and beautifully arranged on the waffle. They use just the right amount of syrup for it to have a light sweetness but not to conflict with the other ingredients. To go with your waffle you can get some incredible coffee. They have a full espresso bar with lattes, etc., and also have brewed coffee with DIY refills. They brew Dawson Taylor and it was piping hot, full bodied, and rich. So much better than most brunch coffee, and actually pretty cheap too. The prices can seem high for what you get, but they actually use local ingredients and those cost more. I think it's worth it for the quality you get here. You can get a quick breakfast or sit and linger. This is a great option for lunch too, because waffles are always delicious. Definitely give them a try. The owner, Hector, is incredibly personable and will probably welcome you and chat you up. The whole staff is friendly and hard working too. A great place if you're craving a sweeter meal! There are not a lot of menu options and there are no vegan options. The waffles themselves are fantastic! The batter is made with a hint of sweetness so it balanced out the savory nature of the cheese and eggs. The waffles are on the smaller size though; about the size of a hand or a little bigger. The service was what made it a great experience. We were celebrating a birthday and they made sure to make it really special with a candle on the waffle. The waffles are $10+ but are stacked with a nice amount of toppings. The space is shared with the Fry Company so it can get a little rowdy since it's two locations in one. read more

The owner even came out to see how we were enjoying our food and to have a chat. 5/5 Food: My wife and I split the Chicken and Waffles with a side of eggs and bacon. The waffle was dense and sweet, with excellent flavor. The portion of chicken was huge, lightly breaded, juicy, and very flavorful. The gravy, a house specialty, was beyond delicious. Dropped in here for the waffles. It was fairly busy. It also shares a space with the Boise Fry Co. we placed an order for the Waffles & Chicken plus bacon, and a Bobacado Deluxe with no cheese. The kitchen prep space is open for everyone to see. It took about 10 mins for us to get our food. It was presented pretty. Omg. It was soooo good!! The gravy for the chicken I got on the side because I like to control the portions but it was sooo good. It reminded me of cream chipped beef gravy but I think it was bacon?? I was introduced to liège waffles years ago at a hole-in-the-wall joint, Off the Waffle, in Eugene, Oregon. When they talk about Belgium waffles in Belgium, they're not talking about batter waffles in a deep iron. No, they mean yeast-dough waffles spiked with pearly sugar. After you've had the real thing, those batter ones pale in comparison. The liège waffles at Waffle Me Up are as good as they get. When you bite into the small pearls of sugar, you know why these are super special. I had the waffle and chicken, which comes with cream gravy. They were quite good. The order line was a little confusing. No one said we needed to move past the front case to the cash register to order. Another family walked past us without bothering to see if we were in line and went to order. The order taker didn't look around to see we were there first. Odd. The mocha I had was bitter. I would not order it again. I took off a star after watching a worker, in a store T-shirt, run outside to feed the meter right in front of the restaurant. Apparently, spaces out front are for workers and not customers. There are other towns where businesses are fined when their workers take spaces meant for customers. read more

I've never left poor review before, but felt obligated to save fellow gluten free individuals from spending an unnecessary amount of money. The staff here were nice but that is the only thing going for them. If you are gluten free and are excited to experience a gluten free waffle, this place is NOT for you. I've been gluten free since I was 11 years old, and the gf waffle they put in front of me was reminiscent of the very first gf bread I ever tried. A reheated frozen solid brick that was dusty with no flavor. I had two bites and didn't finish. My boyfriend got a regular waffle and also didn't finish it, so I don't think they're really that good either way. Also they were out of bananas first thing on a Monday morning, not sure how that happens. read more

The food was great! I appreciate being able to order a side of avacado for my baby. However, any establishment that asks for a tip should try to offer service. I ordered a drip coffee and had to wait for the cashier to finish wrapping silverware to get it. Half the party was served about 20 min ahead of the rest, which is long enough for food to get cold and frustration to set in. There weren't napkins readily available and I was instructed to go to the bathroom to get paper towels to clean up my infant during the meal.
