We split half of each to try both. Sandwiches don't come with anything like chips and a drink on weekends, unfortunately. You can get a deal during the week with those included. We gave Certified Kitchen & Bakery 4 stars because there was a lot to like, despite one significant issue. Our biggest disappointment was the chicken sandwich. The 9-grain mustard completely overpowered the other flavors, making it difficult to enjoy the sandwich as a whole. That said, the bread was excellent, and the chicken was incredibly tender--it really could have been a great sandwich with a better balance of flavors. Even with that disappointment, we'd definitely come back and simply ask them to leave off the mustard next time. We're also looking forward to trying some of their take-and-bake items, especially the chicken pot pie and lasagna, which looked fantastic! read more

I live a few blocks away from certified and it's always a great treat to stop by there. Was craving a good sandwich in between the workday and I got a pulled pork sandwich. It had super delicious flavors within it, especially with the little greens and the pulled pork not feeling too heavy with it. The ciabatta was the main dealbreaker for me selecting that sandwich. It was so fluffy and delicious and tasted like it was fresh out of the oven. All of the stuff is always super sweet. My mom is obsessed with their blueberry bars and if I do not come prepared with four blueberry bars, when I visit, she will be very disappointed. Certified has become a part of my weekly routine! I have yet to have something I haven't enjoyed. From the english muffins, to superfood salad, cookies, and carrot cake everything they do is the best! Their certified breakfast sandwich is a favorite and one of my favorite places to stop before heading up to ski bogus! The only con is the lack of indoor seating. I find myself at certified at least twice a week. A staple in Hyde park you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. From their handcrafted sandwiches to their coffees, desserts and prepackaged snacks for picnics certified makes their food with love. My favorite is the French style pancakes, which of course is a crêpe, just by a different name. They serve it with Nutella and fresh berries, and it is to die for. Their baked goods and pastries are 10 out of 10 delicious their Star cookies and the sourdough brownie are some of my favorites. they do have gluten-free breads and desserts so it is a gluten-free friendly place. they do not have much indoor seating at all. They do have a very small bar top with some barstools, but it gets very crowded during the busy time. I recommend getting your food to go and sitting at one of the tables outside. To me, certified kitchen and bakery, represents a successful neighborhood café/lunch spot. They have great options for just about everyone. A great spot if you're going to picnic at Cammile's back or bringing a friend from out of town who's visiting or just picking up breakfast or lunch on your way to the office. Usually come here for the breakfast items but, wanted to try some of the sweets. The Breakfast burrito, grain bowl, and sandwhiches are all amazing and fresh to order. The Matcha isn't ceremonial but is a local business, I added an extra shot of Matcha and less Milk. It's okay but, recco to add a bit of sweetener since it comes out to be a bit bitter. The cookie was chewy on the inside and crispy on the edges. Love the addition of pecans and the folds bring more texture to the cookie. The service is great, tons of staff working tirelessly to get orders out. There's a few chairs on the side. Will be back again! read more

Our friend who used to live in Boise recommended we come here for lunch because it was her "go-to spot for when friends visit." Boy, was she right!! This place was incredible. The ambience is so cute, very vibey with cute trinkets for sale and a table of cool cookbooks. The prices were great, the people were very friendly. There wasn't too much seating, but we found some stools at the counter to sit on. The sandwiches were out of this world. They tasted so fresh, the bacon was so tasty. The bread itself was absolutely amazing, it tasted so homemade. Apparently they use a 50 year old sourdough starter for their bread and some baked goods. This place was buzzing with people left and right! Walking in to this store front, there are a bunch of neat gifts and treats in the front for sale. It is a smaller venue so it was kind of tight around people. For an eatery I was expecting tables and chairs but the only seating available was barstools against the wall. For breakfast I grabbed an iced vanilla oat milk latte and the croque madamm breakfast sandwich. The oat milk latte was delicious. It was balanced with sweetness from the vanilla, the creaminess of the oat milk and the bitter from the espresso. The sandwich came out fresh and hot! The English muffin was perfectly baked and soft. The dijion mustard added great flavor to the ham. The combination of everything made such a great breakfast sandwich. The staff was friendly and fast! I visit Certified at least 1-2x a week. I've tried just about everything and you really can't go wrong with what you decide. Everyone loves the certified breakfast sandwich and it is great- I bring friends here all the time for it. However, I think the trailhead breakfast bowl and the seasonal veggie sandwiches are severely underrated. Over the summer the seasonal option was a veggie wrap and currently it's a yam banh mi sandwich-- both were truly out of this world. So fresh and exploding with flavor. Really can't recommend them enough. The thing I would not necessarily recommend ordering at Certified is their flavored lattes/coffee- I feel like they're very bland and you can find much better coffee elsewhere in Boise (there's a lot of great spots). Be ready and willing to wait if you do not come early and good luck getting a seat as there is super limited seating areas (just a couple of long bars). There are a lot of great options on the menu and baked goods out. They also sell their English muffins by the 1/2 dozen, so if you loved your breakfast sandwich, you can try and replicate it at home with your English muffins. Ordered their Huevos rancheros breakfast burrito and it was excellent and had great flavor. It was really full and had a good ratio of eggs, potatoes, and cheese.
