The shakes at rise & grind are so good, I don't know how they do it! I love that they have so many great flavors and everything is ACTUALLY HEALTHY. Fast food to start your day RIGHT. I love this place! We walked by and decided to check it out. A small cute shop with a festive feel. They have a huge variety of healthy nutritious meal replacement type drinks. Perfect for an active lifestyle or people who are on the go. You get an ample size shot of aloe before every shake and you get to choose your flavor. We chose mango. I chose the orange-colada flavor and it was delicious. It even has coconut shavings on the bottom for added texture. The ambience is great with lots of college aged people and fun music playing. The store even smells like caramel cookies! Glad we popped in and when we come back to Boise we will definitely have this place on our list for breakfast spots. I came here a while ago and all I can is...meh. I'm thinking it's an MLM front for Herbalife or something similar. These types of shops are all over other cities I've lived in, and all the shakes taste the same. Even the set up is identical. A shake and a tea? No thank you. And before you come at me, let me admit that my suspicions are merely based on the menu set up and taste of the products. However I have no proof. Upside: The first time I came here, I go an aloe wellness shot, pomegranate tea bomb (do not get hot), and the chunky money smoothie (can be made vegan, as well as many other smoothies). Tea bomb was okay.. I prefer the flavors of the teas, and I am not yet sure what differentiates the two. Workers are friendly, outgoing, and knowledgeable of the menu. Service was fantastic. Downside: They market their use of biodegradable and compostable cups, but they are still single use and can only break down in an industrial composting facility. They are not usually handled properly and just end up in the landfill :( While I am not positive if they send it to a facility or not, they do not have separate receptacles to indicate that they do. On the bright side, you can bring your own reusables, but I hope to see them incentivize customers to bring their own containers, handle compostables responsibly and properly, and/or move to glass, wood, or stainless steel in-store packaging, soon... Their space is fairly small with a lot of people coming throughout the day, so I can see how it may be difficult to manage. read more

I love this place! It's strange to me to see people using a yelp account and not know what kind of business they are walking into. Anyway, their products are healthy and delicious and the staff is super friendly and informative. I just started their weight loss challenge and I've already lost 7 pounds in just three days. Happy, positive energy about the place. I like getting the green tea & the "Donkey Kong" shake. The tea gives me a nice energy buzz. The "Donkey Kong" shake is kind of a chocolate, peanut butter, banana concoction that has more protein than most of the shakes. Super yummy! Keeps me as full as a meal would. Great place to refuel after a workout! I saw some of the negative reviews below. This place advertises exactly what it sells. It's an aloe shot, a tea, & a meal replacement shake. All for around 250 calories & $7. Not a bad price!!!! The staff is friendly & knowledgeable because they all co-own it! I didn't feel like they were pushy at all, just excited. I also stopped in because I thought it was a coffee shop. I was surprised to walk in to loud pop music, and wasn't super stoked when I first saw the menu, but when I realized these aren't plain ol' smoothies, they're MLM smoothies(/teas/whatever)... seriously? That really drove the nail in the coffin that this place wasn't for us. Two stars just because I save one star reviews for places that, I don't know, kick my dog or something.
