Unfortunately for me, I was in a bit of a rush; I wish I could have taken a a moment and drank my coffee here as it seems like a great place to do so. There is a nook in the ordering area filled with cool little goodies to peruse while you wait to order/receive your coffee. They roast their own beans here, which is always exciting to me as I love to try new and hard to reach (from Phoenix, AZ) coffee! I absolutely enjoyed my latte, it was not overly sugary or milky. It was coffee forward and the brown sugar paired well with it. If, or when, I visit Boise again, this is where I will be stopping by first!

It is always spotless, the ambiance is relaxed, the music is great, and there are so many comfortable places to sit depending on your mood. Sometimes I relax on the couches, other times I grab a table or sit near the window and enjoy the view. They also have plenty of outdoor seating, which is perfect on sunny Boise days and makes it a great place to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. It is one of those places where you can easily spend time working, meeting someone, or just enjoying a great cup of coffee. They also have great food, which makes it even better whether you are stopping in for a quick bite or staying a while. Everything I have tried has been fresh and really good. You can also tell that management cares about both their employees and their customers. When a place is run well it shows through the staff, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, and District Coffee absolutely delivers. I am new to Boise and this is one of the first places I recommend when someone asks where to get great coffee or find a comfortable place to spend some time. I have had a few not so friendly stares when I asked but the majority of the staff have been so kind. I appreciate the extra step and the longevity of my new kidney does too. My husband eventually went up to ask about our order. The response we got was basically, "OK, we'll make it," with no apology or acknowledgment of the oversight. We finally received our drinks about 25 minutes after ordering, and they were in to-go cups even though we clearly asked for them to be for here. At that point it felt like a sign that we should just leave, so we did. If I could go back, I would have left the moment we weren't greeted. I believe the beans used were from Ethiopia, and it was excellently smooth with notes of the coffee cherry it came from! I love when I can taste the complex flavors through different brewing methods at a café.
