The shop offers house roasted coffee beans and merchandise. My dad buys their house "bright eye" beans every week for our coffee machine at home. Pastries selection is great but I wish they all inside the closed displayed so they all not dry and no fly landed to any of them. I know it's early but I love it when employees/ baristas greet us/customers "good morning"! They never smile and I feel like they had a rough night? And I never understood why My barista always ignored my request every time I ask them to make my latte extra hot and no foam/flat. As hard as it was not to grab thick slice of the loaf in front of me, I just stuck with my iced sugar free brown sugar cinnamon breve. I chilled at one of the big tables while I was waiting for my drink. It gave me a chance to absorb everything about the coffee shop. I love the big mural of old school Hyde Park. I adore the books along the wall for the kiddos to enjoy. It was great seeing people out and about. People laughing and enjoying their company and drinks. It's honestly one of the dopest shop I have hit up. The second barista was sweet and handed me my drink. I chilled at the big table and enjoyed my first couple sips. The espresso is strong! You can taste it. I did add a packet of sweetner, I like my caffeinated beverages on the sweeter side. It was just what it needed. My breve was absolutely delicious. My drink was creamy, flavorful from the SF brown sugar cinnamon syrup and the sweetner helped with the intensity of the espresso. It was so good. I have been to quite a few coffee joints in town and I like a lot of them. But there's something about this shop that is so different from the rest. It's in such a neat area. He did pour some of the coffee out and added the cream. The raw honey was nice but it still wasn't sweet enough for me so I added a packet of blue sweetner. It's a drinkable cup of coffee but it does lack flavor cause it was so watered down. I had really high hopes for this joint. After reading the reviews, I had high expectations. It looked like they pushed out great coffee! The venue and the gentleman were on point today but my drink was a flop. While waiting for my drink, I noticed all the cool patches from different police departments. Supporting our police departments is so important to me! They protect and serve us so they have my highest respect. I appreciate the different badges on display. I feel bad that I didn't really like my drink. I do want to come back and try again! I don't know if our addition of raw honey threw of dude while he was making my drink. This place is too cool not to come back. We ordered two lattes and two americanos and had very different experiences. The latte drinkers loved their coffee whilst my husband and I (the americano drinkers) felt that the coffee was average. I adore the creativity they put into the shelf. The back wall is a stunning painting of a coffee plant. Whoever painted that wall did a fantastic job! My coffee looked dark and rich before I added my half and half. I knew that drink was going to be strong and flavorful! The espresso wasn't watered down at all. I added my half and half and a packet of sweetener. Taking one sip of my drink jolted me. You can taste the bitterness of the coffee. But it also had the right amount of sugar free vanilla in it as well. With the cream and sweetener, it was absolutely a great cup of coffee! I never caught the barista's name but she was super sweet. We talked about my transplant and my recovery from it. She was engaged and genuine. I appreciate that she was real and honestly involved in our conversation. It wasn't generic small talk. I wish this coffee joint is closer to me. Unfortunately they are on the other end of town. I would stop here every morning if I could. Everything about this shop is great.
