Haven't been in for a couple months. I was working on my client across the street and needed an afternoon caffeinated beverage. So I made my way in for a famous Chai breve. I will put my words in concrete to let everyone know that this coffee joint has the best Chai and staff, hands down! You can't compete with this shop. They are always on point. Thank you to the two baristas working last Saturday afternoon(7.25). The both of them took such good care of me. They were kind about getting me a non communal lid and straw. I have to be so careful with germs and my new kidney. No hesitation, they provided me what I needed to be safe. Your kindness speaks volumes! And I appreciate you so much for it! Loved the atmosphere for working and the service was lovely. We ordered a vanilla iced matcha and a chocolate pumpkin muffin to nibble on. I found my matcha to lack flavor and the pumpkin muffin was a little dry and bland. I did notice in one of the bathrooms down the hallway was out of soap. Boise, Id. We needed coffee and walked here from our B&B. It was a busy Tuesday morning and I had to wait awhile to place my order to a decidedly grumpy young lady. Our Lattes came fairly quick, maybe 15 minutes at the most. The latte art was exquisitely applied. The latte itself was served in a large ceramic cup. I ordered and paid for an extra shot in each but I'm pretty sure by the weak taste I did not get them. I wasn't watching, I just trusted them. We also ordered two House Granola + Yogurt Bowls that took awhile to come out. They were very different from the standard and usual. There was no fresh fruit or berries but instead a cherry compote. Also added was some almond butter, honey, and a bit of cinnamon. Thrown on top were some chia seeds. The granola was sparse and of no added taste, but perhaps a bit of texture. Although not what I expected the resulting concoction tasted very good, even though my wife didn't find it as appealing. The portion size is huge. I would order this again without remorse. The ambiance is of a very busy and active hub of diverse groups. The audible level of many many conversations was party like. read more

District Coffie house is one of my absolute favorite places to get coffee in downtown Boise. I feel like the barista is really care about how your drink is going to come out. It feels like they're made with love. They just freshly remodeled the space feels brand new during the summer. They have a lavender lemonade spritz that I absolutely adore. The District has a seasonal menu along with all of the coffee shop favorites, you're often find Boise State students studying or folks working on their laptops. Visiting Boise from out of town. This place was literally two minutes from our hotel which was nice except for my husband got there at 9:22 AM and did not leave the coffee shop until 10:03. All he ordered was a drip coffee, and a chai tea latte one pastry and yogurt with granola, he wasn't offered a drink carrier nor a bag to carry back to the hotel! By the time he got my chai tea to me it was already lukewarm not sure who the owner is but from a coffee shop owner myself I recommend you get a pug press to speed up your ticket time 40 minutes is a long time to wait for these items. Needless to say we will not be going there the next few days that we are in town. I I gave you three stars instead of two so that it wouldn't ruin your reviews status and I will say that the chai tea was delicious. So I give that four stars for that but not worth waiting 40 minutes! read more

The coffee I tried, cold brew was smooth and yummy. Soft top was a great touch & after looking at reviews was my reason for coming in. They have sip lids included at their self help station & serve your drink without lids. Paid 7.25 for my 12 oz coffee with vanilla & soft top. Bright coffee shop with good tunes in the background. Nice barista and another who was making a real good looking matcha. Con: what I came for...coffee. Got a nitro. Pricey for the size (see pic with hotel key for reference, prob 8oz?) and flat. First sip had good chocolate flavor but it just petered out. I'm used to more rich nitro, milky-smooth with out the milk type of drink, and well, nitro. Mine was very flat. From the very first time I walked into District Coffee in downtown Boise, I could tell this place was special. The staff are incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely kind. What really stood out to me is that they greet you like they are truly happy to see you. Even on my first visit they made me feel welcome, and now every time I walk in they greet me like a familiar face and make me feel right at home. That kind of consistency and warmth is rare and says a lot about the people who work there. The space itself is fantastic. It is always spotless, the ambiance is relaxed, the music is great, and there are so many comfortable places to sit depending on your mood. Sometimes I relax on the couches, other times I grab a table or sit near the window and enjoy the view. They also have plenty of outdoor seating, which is perfect on sunny Boise days and makes it a great place to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. It is one of those places where you can easily spend time working, meeting someone, or just enjoying a great cup of coffee. They also have great food, which makes it even better whether you are stopping in for a quick bite or staying a while. Everything I have tried has been fresh and really good. You can also tell that management cares about both their employees and their customers. When a place is run well it shows through the staff, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, and District Coffee absolutely delivers. I am new to Boise and this is one of the first places I recommend when someone asks where to get great coffee or find a comfortable place to spend some time. Came to the District Coffee House on a cold wonder day and it was a nice place to keep cozy and relax for a few hours. I had the horchata mocha and the ham and cheese croissant for breakfast, both of which were delicious. Prices were comparable to Starbucks but quality was far better. The service was quick and friendly. I had my food and coffee out within 5 minutes. They and tables and couches, all of which were kept clean. They had indie music playing in the background which was on par with the coffeehouse vibes. It's can be a bit loud for some but I liked it. Highly recommend this cafe if you're in the Boise downtown area and need to kill some time. read more

On a positive note, the Matcha was really good. And so was the granola with yogurt. The Issue is this place is filthy. The bathroom, as was previously reviewed ,was disgusting! I was actually quite shocked. Staff did not seem organized at all. So I really didn't say anything about the bathrooms or the floors being gross because I didn't really think it would make a difference. Their coffee is spectacular, you can tell they really brew it with care. I also have gotten their chai latte and oh my was it good! I really like the ambiance inside as well. If you're not afraid of contracting E. coli, Salmonella, or HPV, this place is for you--because the bathrooms alone are a survival challenge. Think months of marinated urine, a sprinkle of pubic hair, and a dash of mystery sludge. Paper towels? Toilet paper? Soap? Luxury items, apparently. Employees can't wash their hands, but hey, they can scroll Instagram while handling your food. As for the coffee, imagine battery acid with a hint of regret. I had to toss it after two sips in front of the idiotic barista who made it and she never questioned if I was satisfied with her brew. I walked out feeling both exhausted and in desperate need of a hazmat shower. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! My photos won't upload so don't take my word for it...go see for yourself and bring the health inspector! Never mind, they've been warned and it clearly didn't phase them. I'll pass on that avocado toast. The District is the spot to hit up if you've really caught the vibe. Anyone who says that Boise doesn't have a hip and lively cafe culture doesn't know what they're talking about! The decor here is bright and inviting. I never have an issue finding a spot here, and there is even great outdoor seating for when the weather is too nice to sit inside. There's a mixture of seating that accommodates groups and those wanting a more intimate coffee date or solo study session. The staff at the District are lovely and always willing to give a suggestion if you're not sure what to order. My go-to drink order is their Matcha latte, the District definitely has one of my favorite Matchas in Boise! They also have a large selection of local kombuchas, great for the times when it's a bit too late in the day for caffeine. If there's one pastry item that you have to try here it's the goat-cheese pesto turnover. Totally crave-worthy! read more

District Coffee House was the first stop in Boise, ID. I ordered a matcha latte (not many coffeehouse has it, most only have chai) and a breakfast burrito. My husband went with the regular coffee. The girls working at the counter were friendly and chatted while they worked. It wasn't too crowded at 9am on a Sunday but there were folks on their computers, with their kids, groups, and couples, all enjoying their breakfast. I shared the burrito with my hubby and the latte filled me up. It filled me up so good that I wasn't hungry til close to late, late afternoon around 4pm. One of the most popular coffee shops we saw in Boise. Nestled in Downtown and very close to the beautiful capitol building! Our only gripe was service was bit slow. But to be fair, there was only one girl operating both register and the espresso bar. I honestly felt sorry for her. And when the espresso machine started having issues it was just backed up everything more. Why is she staffed by herself?!?!
