I found this gem in Boise! Jordan took care of me and she was very kind and helpful. I bought myself a flavorful and soothing tea recommended by her and also purchased a delicious pastry. I will definitely come here again!!!

Confetti eggs

Small portion and expensive- not flavorful at all and the tortillas were hard after a few minutes. I think they were microwaved. It was advertised with salsa and there was probably a teaspoon a pico in a cup. Food came out fast but I had to find my drink and the lady wasn't super nice when I asked where to find it. Atmosphere was lively and it was a very busy place.

"Huevos rancheros"

The coffee and tea and pastries are fantastic. However, the food is seriously lacking. We ordered Huevos rancheros and received a small portion of scrambled eggs and beans with a tortilla on the side. Not huevos rancheros. Worst of all it cost $12. I was so disappointed. I hear their eggs Benedict is wonderful so maybe it's just a case of sticking to what they do well and taking the sub par items off the menu entirely.

Visiting my friend in town this weekend and this is her favorite spot! The barista was super sweet and accommodating and the food and drink that I got were super yummy :) Such a cozy cute spot. Would definitely hang out here if I lived in the area.

Iced coffee

Came here with my hubby and kids while walking around the neighborhood. I loved all the options of coffee but since I'm strictly caffeine free there wasn't very much variety for me personally. I generally order some sort of decaf americano with sugar feee Sweetener, Heavy cream and cold foam of some sort but this place didn't seem to have too many offerings so I stuck with just a regular decaf iced latte. It was good but I was really surprised at how tiny the large was... maybe I'm too used to human bean or Starbucks but I like an iced coffee that's going to be with me for a few hours while I walk around. This large was so tiny it didn't last me long. The breakfast menu looked delish but we had already ate so I will come back and try that next time. Overall a good spot if you're in the area.

When in Hyde Part a summer must, the Blended Bowl of Soul! Elyssa and the crew at Java always exceed expectations.

Get the Bowl of soul their signature coffee party in my mouth! Food is great as well not to mention huge portions so come hungry or share.

Visit the Hyde Park location and fell in love with the atmosphere and location. It is my absolute dream to move to Hyde Park. We went a it was relatively busy with very few sitting areas. A group of mature adults approximately 10 pulled tables together and were elbow to elbow with us. So, that was not fun but other then that my cappuccino was lovely. My only qualm is that their Huevos rancheros are not authentic. A can of black beans does not belong in huevos rancheros:)

Whoa!!! What happened to the old Java in Hyde Park??? Get a mocha - almost $6.00 for a burnt, awful coffee!!! Then jam out to rocker music on crack on the patio...ummmm....not worth the price at all. Nope - wouldn't recommend. Still a nice patio, great location but missing the old Java

If you love mochas, you'll love the Keith Richard. Next time going to the Hyde Park shop and will try the Bowl of Soul everyone raves about.

Coffee is decent but the breakfast sandwich special was so bland, and they were out of croissants. Avocado toast was weak as well.

Ask the Community - Java

Is there any gluten free bread options?

Yes! Every time I've been there they've had gluten free baked goods. I would call ahead the day you go to be sure they have some, just in case they've sold out for the day.

What milk alternatives do they have?

Coconut, Soy and Almond milks are available at all locations. Downtown and Hyde Park have hemp milk.

From the very first time I walked into District Coffee in downtown Boise, I could tell this place…read morewas special. The staff are incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely kind. What really stood out to me is that they greet you like they are truly happy to see you. Even on my first visit they made me feel welcome, and now every time I walk in they greet me like a familiar face and make me feel right at home. That kind of consistency and warmth is rare and says a lot about the people who work there. The space itself is fantastic. It is always spotless, the ambiance is relaxed, the music is great, and there are so many comfortable places to sit depending on your mood. Sometimes I relax on the couches, other times I grab a table or sit near the window and enjoy the view. They also have plenty of outdoor seating, which is perfect on sunny Boise days and makes it a great place to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. It is one of those places where you can easily spend time working, meeting someone, or just enjoying a great cup of coffee. They also have great food, which makes it even better whether you are stopping in for a quick bite or staying a while. Everything I have tried has been fresh and really good. You can also tell that management cares about both their employees and their customers. When a place is run well it shows through the staff, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, and District Coffee absolutely delivers. I am new to Boise and this is one of the first places I recommend when someone asks where to get great coffee or find a comfortable place to spend some time. I have also had great experiences at their other locations. Boise is lucky to have them.

But, I really wanted to comment about how great the staff has been. After recently getting my new kidney, I have to be so careful about germs. And unfortunately, I can't use the straws and lids that they have out for everyone. I have asked if they can kindly put a lid and straw in for me after they make my drink and a majority of the staff has! I have had a few not so friendly stares when I asked but the majority of the staff have been so kind. I appreciate the extra step and the longevity of my new kidney does too. A small gesture like this goes a long ways and I am so grateful to those who have helped me out.

The shop is always clean and has a really comfortable atmosphere whether you're stopping in briefly or planning to stay awhile. One of the highlights is the upstairs seating area. They also have nice outdoor seating, especially on sunny days, which adds to the whole downtown Boise experience. The food has been consistently good and everything I've tried has been fresh. What really stands out is the management. It's very impressive and clearly shows in the staff, the attention to detail, and the overall experience. The shop offers house roasted coffee beans and merchandise. My dad buys their house "bright eye" beans every week for our coffee machine at home. Pastries selection is great but I wish they all inside the closed displayed so they all not dry and no fly landed to any of them. I know it's early but I love it when employees/ baristas greet us/customers "good morning"! They never smile and I feel like they had a rough night? And I never understood why My barista always ignored my request every time I ask them to make my latte extra hot and no foam/flat. I don't need any fancy milk art, just simply make my latte xtra hot.

I almost passed this joint walking right by it. It's a smaller venue so I'm glad they had a big J on the door, it caught my eyes when I was almost walking past it. Walking in, I see my boss enjoying her drink! I knew it was at the right place when I saw her! The barista let me chat for a minute before I got to ordering. For my usual, I grabbed a small iced americano with room for cream. I totally spaced on asking for any sugar free options so but biggie! My drink came out delicious! It was perfectly made with the right amount of ice, espresso and cream. I added a couple blue packets of sugar and it was perfect. It was just what I needed! The venue is very bright and inviting. It is smaller but small isn't bad, it's more intimate. I love how simple this place is, not a lot of distractions. I found another great coffee joint downtown to add to my favorite list. I look forward to coming back and grabbing another drink.
