One of the few coffee shops opened for Thanksgiving and we're so grateful that they were! The food was delicious as always and the drinks were served quick. Friendly staff and nice ambiance!

I found this gem in Boise! Jordan took care of me and she was very kind and helpful. I bought myself a flavorful and soothing tea recommended by her and also purchased a delicious pastry. I will definitely come here again!!!

Small portion and expensive- not flavorful at all and the tortillas were hard after a few minutes. I think they were microwaved. It was advertised with salsa and there was probably a teaspoon a pico in a cup. Food came out fast but I had to find my drink and the lady wasn't super nice when I asked where to find it. Atmosphere was lively and it was a very busy place.

    "Huevos rancheros"

The coffee and tea and pastries are fantastic. However, the food is seriously lacking. We ordered Huevos rancheros and received a small portion of scrambled eggs and beans with a tortilla on the side. Not huevos rancheros. Worst of all it cost $12. I was so disappointed. I hear their eggs Benedict is wonderful so maybe it's just a case of sticking to what they do well and taking the sub par items off the menu entirely.

Visiting my friend in town this weekend and this is her favorite spot! The barista was super sweet and accommodating and the food and drink that I got were super yummy :) Such a cozy cute spot. Would definitely hang out here if I lived in the area.

    Iced coffee

Came here with my hubby and kids while walking around the neighborhood. I loved all the options of coffee but since I'm strictly caffeine free there wasn't very much variety for me personally. I generally order some sort of decaf americano with sugar feee Sweetener, Heavy cream and cold foam of some sort but this place didn't seem to have too many offerings so I stuck with just a regular decaf iced latte. It was good but I was really surprised at how tiny the large was... maybe I'm too used to human bean or Starbucks but I like an iced coffee that's going to be with me for a few hours while I walk around. This large was so tiny it didn't last me long. The breakfast menu looked delish but we had already ate so I will come back and try that next time. Overall a good spot if you're in the area.

When in Hyde Part a summer must, the Blended Bowl of Soul! Elyssa and the crew at Java always exceed expectations.

Visit the Hyde Park location and fell in love with the atmosphere and location. It is my absolute dream to move to Hyde Park. We went a it was relatively busy with very few sitting areas. A group of mature adults approximately 10 pulled tables together and were elbow to elbow with us. So, that was not fun but other then that my cappuccino was lovely. My only qualm is that their Huevos rancheros are not authentic. A can of black beans does not belong in huevos rancheros:)

    Bowl of Soul...#heaven

My love of Java has only increased over the years. It could be their amazing dog friendly patio (including the fact that they keep a bowl of fresh, clean water easily accessible and always available for your canine companions). It could be the fast and friendly service. It could be a little thing called: consistency. I like it when I order an espresso beverage and find it's exactly as it tasted the last time I enjoyed it. Who doesn't? But, there's a grander reason than all of these. And, that, my friends, is a pretty little caffeinated lovely they call the Bowl of Soul. What is the Bowl of Soul, you ask? Perhaps a better question would be what isn't it? It isn't boring. It isn't bitter. It isn't weak. It's magnificent. I mean, as a coffee house, you gotta be pretty confident about an espresso beverage to title it, Bowl of Soul. The very name conjures visions of comfort swirling with out-of-body divinity. I'm here to tell you, it lives up to the name. It's rich espresso, spicy Mexican chocolate, steamed milk, and cinnamon sprinkled whipped cream deliciousness. Is it a coffee drink for every day? I mean, probably not. It's really quite rich. But, the days you do permit yourself the indulgence? Well, those days are bound to be good days. Very, very good days. Get to it!

Much quieter than other cafés, which is a plus for me. However the pastries are not the best. Had a muffin and it was very dry.

    Ask the Community - Java

Is there any gluten free bread options?

Yes! Every time I've been there they've had gluten free baked goods. I would call ahead the day you go to be sure they have some, just in case they've sold out for the day.

What milk alternatives do they have?

Coconut, Soy and Almond milks are available at all locations. Downtown and Hyde Park have hemp milk.

We enjoyed our coffee with unlimited refills and took a booth where you can people watch and we could see the capitol building. Friendly staff and good coffee. I appreciate the variety of baked goods and even the discounted day old items. Good place to grab a coffee when you don't have much time. Loved the artwork on display too. Several little tables here and booths and one larger table. My quiche was good. Everything I expected and I got the day old banana bread which was dried up and hard on the edges and soft in the middle. I guess that's why they discount it. After a day it doesn't hold up too long.

I was suggested to call in and see if they were some available the day of. So, I called in this morning to do an apple fritter check. I talked to Emily this morning. I was told that they don't serve apple fritters. So, now I'm confused to whether they do or don't sell fritters. She did tell me that they have apple bear claws and an apple bread available. I asked if a bear claw could be set aside for me. With it being Saturday morning, I wanted to guarantee a bear claw after I got off work. I wanted to take one home to my husband since I promised him one. I headed in around 9:30. It was chill so I probably could have just snagged one but I wanted it to be a guarantee. The gal behind the counter grabbed my bear claw. Paid for it and made me way out. On my way to the car, I couldn't help but be baffled to how light the box was. I got into my car and opened the box up. Bro, to call this pastry in this to go box a bear claw has to be a joke. A bear claw to me is big, palm size. Multiple people handling a big claw size. I was so disappointed at how tiny this bear claw was. Honestly, to have it be called bear claw is criminal work. And to have it be pushing 5 bucks is criminal work too. Don't get me wrong, the bear claw was decent. It was frosted. The pastry portion of it was soft and buttery. There was apple but very subtle. The size of it is comparable to street taco but fluffier. To compare a bear claw to a street taco is just insane to me.
