I recently checked out this relatively new coffee shop in Boise and I am obsessed! Coffee drinks that look like cocktails, sign me up! They have a rotating seasonal menu, which is so fun! You can get a new drink every time you visit! They also have a handful of pastries to choose from as well as sourdough bagels. My favorite was the ham and Swiss and the pesto artichoke. I ordered the salted honey vanilla shaken espresso and it was a solid 10/10. This feels like an upscale coffee shop where every detail has been thought of to enhance your coffee experience.

Hidden Grounds is such a cute spot, albeit with terrible parking that's not their fault at all. I love that they use organic ingredients, and their speciality coffees are quite tasty. The employees have always been friendly. Kind of small so seating can be a bit of a challenge if you want to stay in. The only reason really for taking off one star is that their prices are high. Again, they use quality ingredients but so do some others in the Treasure Valley at lower prices. I'd give them 4.5 if Yelp did partial stars. A great addition to the Boise coffee scene.

Hidden Grounds is easily my new favorite coffee shop in the area. The most important factor in any coffee shop review? The coffee--and Hidden Grounds absolutely delivers. Their grass-fed butter latte is phenomenal! It's rich, creamy, and perfectly buttery, striking just the right balance between bold coffee flavor and velvety steamed milk. Best of all, it's not too sweet--exactly how I prefer my lattes. Honestly, I love the butter latte so much that I've been reluctant to try anything else--what if nothing else lives up to it? But beyond their stellar coffee, the service here is fantastic. The staff is always warm and welcoming, making every visit a pleasant experience. The only downside? The space is a bit small, so I try to visit during quieter hours. Luckily, with warmer weather on the way, outdoor seating will be an option. Parking can be tricky, but there's a bike shop across the street that allows customers to use their lot. You can also park on Catalpa Dr. and take a short, enjoyable walk before and after your coffee. If you haven't been to Hidden Grounds yet, you're missing out!

A newly open organic coffee shop in Boise. I had an oat milk latte with macadamia syrup and a pastry. My coffee and konign aman was good. I would definitely come back.

    Good Vibes Kombucha

I used to think I didn't like kombucha, but now I know it's because I never had good kombucha until…read moreI tried Good Vibes. Kombucha tea is a fermented drink made with tea, sugar, bacteria and yeast. Some studies suggest it may offer benefits similar to other probiotic foods like yogurt. Good Vibes is a local, family owned, small batch, craft kombucha company in Garden City, Idaho. They use high-quality ingredients and source their raw fruit and herbs from local farmers. The owners of Good Vibes and I share some mutual friends. They had heard I was going to be having dinner at our friends' house, and before I arrived, dropped off a carton of four different flavors of their kombucha for me to try. Prior to this, I had only tried samples of kombucha from vendors at farmers markets. Every one I tried had a strong vinegar flavor. I like vinegar well enough when used for cooking but I don't like beverages that have vinegary flavors. So I decided kombucha wasn't for me. But when the opportunity presented, I was willing to give it another try. I thought it would be fun to do a taste test with a couple of friends of mine who I consider to be kombucha connoisseurs, Madison Hinojos and Courtney White. All three of us were very impressed with Good Vibes. Madison is a long time kombucha drinker who has tried more brands of kombucha than anyone I know. She says the only kombucha she's had that's better than Good Vibes was a Pina Colada flavored kombucha she bought from a street vendor in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Courtney says Good Vibes is the best kombucha she's ever had. All three of us liked all four of the Good Vibes flavors that we tried. We tried all four flavors in one sitting. After we had each tried them, we wrote down on a piece of paper how we would rank them from 1 to 4, with #1 being our favorite of the four flavors. Interestingly, Madison and Courtney ranked them in the exact same order.Their favorite flavor was Mojito, followed by Strawberry Mint, Blueberry Ginger, and Aroniaberry. I rank them in the complete opposite order. My favorite was Aroniaberry, followed by Blueberry Ginger, Strawberry Mint, and Mojito. My theory is those who have a more developed kombucha palate will likely rank the four flavors similar to the way Madison and Courtney did, whereas those with less developed kombucha palates, will likely rank the four flavors similar to the way I did. To be clear, we liked all of the flavors. They were just some we preferred to others. Try them all! Good Vibes has completely changed my opinion about the merit of consuming kombucha, as well as informed me re: what I should expect from a high-quality, good kombucha. I am not someone who typically consumes beverages for the health benefits. I would seek these kombuchas out because they taste good. The fact that there might be a health benefit is an added bonus. Go to Good Vibes' website to order online or see where you can purchase it locally. This business delivers Monday through Friday to homes or businesses within Boise, Eagle, and Meridian. Highly Recommended!!! -- at Good Vibes Kombucha.

A few friends and I stopped in for some kava and shared a couple of kombuchas too--they've got plenty of options on tap. The service was excellent, and the whole place had that laid-back beach hang vibe. If you're looking for a relaxed spot to catch up with friends or maybe meet some new people, definitely check out Karuna Kava.

It was a casual place, and the woman at the bar explained all there was to know about Kava, including that my taste expectations shouldn't be too high, as it's a very "earthy" flavor. I would say it's a bit more than earthy. It's strong-flavored, but the affects hit me within minutes!! My tongue went numb and a wave of relaxation washed over me....reminiscent of Xanax, lol. We had to wait it out a little bit before driving home, especially me...I felt very sleepy after drinking the whole cup. It's definitely very relaxing, but not a drink that you would crave. It's kind of something you have to do quickly to get to the relaxing part. Don't try and sip it...just drink it down and suck on the pineapple. That's the best way to do it. We bought four containers of the stuff to take home with us, because we thought it would help us sleep better at night, and it definitely is, but I wouldn't do it too close to bedtime or you'll have to wake up to pee. All in all, interesting experience, for sure. Before this, I had not known much about Kava, so it was definitely worth doing. Will likely be back!

We thought they had a rec room and that it was really kid friendly, so we were pretty disappointed to see that it was all gone. But, they still have a nice space and it was good enough to keep our toddler entertained with playing cards and popcorn. Being such a hot day, I had to start with the Radler. The grapefruit has such a nice flavor to it and it was perfect to cool down before diving into their other beer. We also ordered the Dandelion Ale, this was pretty interesting to try. I have to say it was unique and I can see why some people would not enjoy it. I however really liked the golden ale with a nice bite, it reminded me a lot of a dandelion or nettle tea. We also tried a hazy, it was pretty good, but nothing too special. Overall a pretty good brewery but I wish they still had their rec room to enjoy.

This place was absolutely amazing, from the outside drinking areas to the bathrooms.
