I will have to say, this little coffee shop is dope. I finally got a chance to make my way in today and I'm happy I did! It had a very old school vibe to it. I love the setting, the decor and most of the all, the coffee. The sweet gal behind the counter took my order. It was hard not to get mesmerized by all the goodies they have on display while I was ordering my drink. Cake pops, scones and muffins. They all looked so tempting! As hard as it was not to grab thick slice of the loaf in front of me, I just stuck with my iced sugar free brown sugar cinnamon breve. I chilled at one of the big tables while I was waiting for my drink. It gave me a chance to absorb everything about the coffee shop. I love the big mural of old school Hyde Park. I adore the books along the wall for the kiddos to enjoy. It was great seeing people out and about. People laughing and enjoying their company and drinks. It's honestly one of the dopest shop I have hit up. The second barista was sweet and handed me my drink. I chilled at the big table and enjoyed my first couple sips. The espresso is strong! You can taste it. I did add a packet of sweetner, I like my caffeinated beverages on the sweeter side. It was just what it needed. My breve was absolutely delicious. My drink was creamy, flavorful from the SF brown sugar cinnamon syrup and the sweetner helped with the intensity of the espresso. It was so good. I have been to quite a few coffee joints in town and I like a lot of them. But there's something about this shop that is so different from the rest. It's in such a neat area. The shop has such a charming vibe to it. They pushed out a great product and the staff was super nice. I will most definitely have to take a detour to this joint before heading to work downtown. Not exaggerating but this is the worst coffee/espresso I've ever had. Burnt and not drinkable- took two sips and threw it away. Very cute shop and very nice employees who should probably taste test what they are making, but save your taste buds and go somewhere else. read more

The bathroom is awful. It's filthy and worse than a dive bar. A simple Lowe's remodel, paint and power wash could make a dramatic improvement. That and employees keeping it clean during their shifts. The filth does not inspire a lot of confindence in their food hygiene practices. Also, the flies can be out of control. They allow dogs in there which is cute, but at least clean the place up for the humans. And lose some of the clutter around the place. The mixed type Hyde Perk signage is very tacky and the live, love, laugh vibe of the all white staff is laid on quite thick. Remodel the bathroom, clean it up, cut back on decor, and you will have a much better place. read more

The coffee is burnt donkey piss - undrinkable. The service - just bad. She covered my double espresso with the lid (not normal) I said you can take the lid off. She put the cup in front of me and said - you can take a lid off. Instantly regretted a visit and definitely regretted including tips. Otherwise - the blueberry scone was good and the place is overall beautiful and in a great location. But it can't make up for the bad coffee - burnt beans. read more

I absoulety love the new Hyde Perk in Avimor. The staff is all very friendly, knowledge and kind. The coffee shop has a vibe of a family friendly place. The ambiance is warm, inviting to all. I went with a seasonal latte special called Warm Springs (Pistachio, salt and vanilla). Delish! I also got a super tasty salted rice krispy treat to go. Nicole at the register was rocking a cute cowgirl hat with a huge smile, no matter how long the line was. Upon leaving, I left my brand new, reusable water bottle on the counter. Amazing coffees and pastries in a cozy and comfortable environment. Hyde Perk Coffee House compliments the charm of the North End perfectly. I love to try their seasonal flavor pairings that can be added to any drink. I usually get either an iced americano or iced latte with almond milk. One of my favorite summer flavors is the sawtooth: white chocolate, huckleberry, toffee. Lavender fields: white chocolate, lavender, and honey is another great one! It's important to note that Hyde Perk has, in my opinion, the really good crushable ice (if you know, you know). It's cozy in here, but still comfortable enough to find a seat and connect to their free wifi. Getting a coffee to-go and then walking around to Camelback park is a lovely way to explore the historic North End! read more

What a Bummer! got talked into a breakfast bowl by the person working the register, after asking about the breakfast sandwiches and hearing that they weren't very good, asked if it was breakfast sausage in the bowl, they said yes its a pork breakfast sausage.. also ordered 2 lattes - breakfast bowl came out and it was Italian sausage with fennel seed, not a breakfast sausage.. so i let them know that it was not a breakfast and was an italian sausage.. they said "oh i'm sorry" - that was it.. no offer to remake it with bacon, or a refund, or even offer a cookie - nothing.. so i threw the $9+ breakfast bowl in the garbage and took a drink of the coffee.. burnt is the best way i can describe it.. Guess i learned my lesson to not just wait until certified bakery opens at 8am - 10/10 better coffee, food and staff.. went back to my airbnb and microwaved a $1.90 breakfast bowl from winco and it's a hundred times better than what they served me. read more

This is my absolute favorite coffee spot. The baristas are so nice (hi, Peyton and Crystal!), and their seasonal drinks are creative and delicious. The best part? They have macadamia milk! It's a must with every drink. They also have a good menu for easier grab-and-go breakfast. Try any of the GF muffins; you won't be disappointed! The patrons are also very friendly and mostly students. I often have to share a table to work, and everyone is happy to share that space. The guy running the bar/register was not friendly and was clearly not happy being at work. We couldn't even buy drip coffee as he said he shut the machine down (2 hours before closing).
