It's a poor customer experience when someone drives up after we place our order inside the shop, and they get their coffee first.

Great coffee, pre-purchase plan is the best. I love paying every now and then and the rest just grab and go. Best staff also.

Checking off coffee shops near us after just moving to the area, and headed to this beautiful spot…read moreafter church this morning. Let me start my saying that is such a beautiful shop- they have indoor and outdoor seating, and everything is comfy/cozy, and welcoming. The staff is what really made the experience amazing though. It was our first time and they were so patient and gave local favorites, and I will openly say the coffee was strong, so if you like sweeter coffee, definitely ask for only 1 shot of espresso or extra syrup. My son got a mocha and it was a little strong for his liking, so they offered to remake it. Which was so sweet of them. They were truly concerned and wanted to make sure we enjoyed everything. The banana bread and raspberry scone were delicious too. Everything was fresh, the coffee was delicious, and I would go back just for the incredible service and space. If you're near the area definitely go check them out. Such a sweet find and can't wait to go back.

I have been patiently waiting for my schedule to align with this coffee joint's hours. The week of…read morethe 4th they were closed. They are only open from Wednesday to Sunday. I happen to have today off so today was the day I get to finally check this place out! I love that this place is called Hidden Grounds. It is not conveniently located on your busy road. It's perfectly hidden off of Hill Rd. Perfectly placed in the North End and just a small drive from my place. If I had one word to describe this place, it would be boujee. From the moment you walk up the stairs to get to the front door, you can just tell this place is going to nice. I love the building they are in. The bright white paint with the black trim with the lush trees around it, it's just the prettiest setting. They have warm blankets at the entrance ready for use on those brisk fall mornings. Plenty of tables and chairs outside to enjoy the weather no matter what season it is. I can only imagine how pretty fall season is in that specific spot. Walking in, you don't get your conventional smells and view. It's stunning, bright and spacious. I smelled lavender as my first scent versus smelling coffee. It honestly smelled like an Aveda spa. It could be from the spa next door or the fresh lavender throughout the shop. The lighting, the decor, the setting, it's all just beautiful. The lovely barista behind the counter greeted me and got my drink started. I ordered my usual, a small iced americano with room for cream. I would have liked to add a sugar free syrup but unfortunately they didn't offer any. They do offer quite a few different varieties of organic syrups. I was offered that option but I declined. The shop is on the quiet side, almost a little too quiet. I sat inside for a minute and decided to head outside go enjoy my drink. There were a few patrons working and stitching outside and it too was really quiet. I felt uncomfortable and decided to leave. I have been to quite a few coffee joints and maybe I just like the ones that are a little more vibrant with noise. I snapped a photo of my drink when I got home. I was so out of my element I forgot to take a photo at the venue. My drink was ok. It was on the bitter side. I did add a couple blue packets and a little more half and half which helped tame the bitterness. Glad I came home to modify my drink. I'm sure I wouldn't have finished it due to the bitterness of it. Hidden Grounds is beautiful and conveniently by my home. It's a pleasant drive on Hill to get here. Coming here for coffee would be great but the hours aren't always compatible with my schedule. And they don't offer sugar free syrup options. Even though it didn't really care for my drink, I'm happy I finally got to check this joint out.

What really stood out to me is that they greet you like they are truly happy to see you. Even on my first visit they made me feel welcome, and now every time I walk in they greet me like a familiar face and make me feel right at home. That kind of consistency and warmth is rare and says a lot about the people who work there. The space itself is fantastic. It is always spotless, the ambiance is relaxed, the music is great, and there are so many comfortable places to sit depending on your mood. Sometimes I relax on the couches, other times I grab a table or sit near the window and enjoy the view. They also have plenty of outdoor seating, which is perfect on sunny Boise days and makes it a great place to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere. It is one of those places where you can easily spend time working, meeting someone, or just enjoying a great cup of coffee. They also have great food, which makes it even better whether you are stopping in for a quick bite or staying a while. Everything I have tried has been fresh and really good. You can also tell that management cares about both their employees and their customers. When a place is run well it shows through the staff, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, and District Coffee absolutely delivers. I am new to Boise and this is one of the first places I recommend when someone asks where to get great coffee or find a comfortable place to spend some time. I have also had great experiences at their other locations. Boise is lucky to have them.

But, I really wanted to comment about how great the staff has been. After recently getting my new kidney, I have to be so careful about germs. And unfortunately, I can't use the straws and lids that they have out for everyone. I have asked if they can kindly put a lid and straw in for me after they make my drink and a majority of the staff has! I have had a few not so friendly stares when I asked but the majority of the staff have been so kind. I appreciate the extra step and the longevity of my new kidney does too. A small gesture like this goes a long ways and I am so grateful to those who have helped me out.

Parking on this area is so much more convenient than parking in the heart of downtown. I got myself a front row spot that was nicely shaded. That shaded spot is prime parking! The first thing you notice about the joint is the big windows of this venue. I love all the views you can enjoy while sipping on your drink from inside. And I appreciate the tables they had outside. You can enjoy your drink out in the nice weather like some of their customers were doing. Walking in, this venue is small. I actually love the size of it, it's quite personal. There is a big coffee bar you can sit at by the espresso machine. There were plenty of tables to chill at. And the big windows let in so much natural lighting. I love the simplicity of this space, it's not overwhelming like some shops are downtown. I was greeted by a handsome face behind the counter. I ordered my usual drink, a small iced americano with room for cream with him. I did ask for their sugar free options but none were available. The sweet barista did offer to make a honey syrup for my drink and I took her offer on it! I'll take honey any day. My drink was fabulous. It was perfectly balanced in espresso, water, honey and half and half. I did add my own packet of sweetner for a little extra kick of sweetness. I do like my drinks a little sweeter but I don't want the extra syrup so it's perfect. They made me a great cup of coffee! I wish this joint was a little closer to the salon I work at. I walk to a lot of different coffee spots by us and Pine would totally be one I'd hit up. I will have to leave my house a little earlier so it gives me a couple extra minutes to stop by this place to get my morning drink. I look forward to stopping by for more afternoon pick me ups soon.

The shop is always clean and has a really comfortable atmosphere whether you're stopping in briefly or planning to stay awhile. One of the highlights is the upstairs seating area.
