I stopped into Pine Coffee after my doctor's appointment today. I have passed them a few times going home from work but today I had a couple extra minutes before I headed to work so I stopped in to grab my afternoon caffeinated beverage. Parking on this area is so much more convenient than parking in the heart of downtown. I got myself a front row spot that was nicely shaded. That shaded spot is prime parking! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The first thing you notice about the joint is the big windows of this venue. I love all the views you can enjoy while sipping on your drink from inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]And I appreciate the tables they had outside. You can enjoy your drink out in the nice weather like some of their customers were doing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Walking in, this venue is small. I actually love the size of it, it's quite personal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a big coffee bar you can sit at by the espresso machine. There were plenty of tables to chill at. And the big windows let in so much natural lighting[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the simplicity of this space, it's not overwhelming like some shops are downtown.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was greeted by a handsome face behind the counter. I ordered my usual drink, a small iced americano with room for cream with him. I did ask for their sugar free options but none were available. The sweet barista did offer to make a honey syrup for my drink and I took her offer on it! I'll take honey any day. My drink was fabulous. It was perfectly balanced in espresso, water, honey and half and half. I did add my own packet of sweetner for a little extra kick of sweetness. I do like my drinks a little sweeter but I don't want the extra syrup so it's perfect. They made me a great cup of coffee! I wish this joint was a little closer to the salon I work at. I walk to a lot of different coffee spots by us and Pine would totally be one I'd hit up. I will have to leave my house a little earlier so it gives me a couple extra minutes to stop by this place to get my morning drink. Super disappointed. 1. Iced matcha latte w oat milk + 1/4 honey: was wayyyy to sweet, didn't have that matcha / earthy flavor, kinda grainy 2. Original waffle: it was kinda ...hard? Idk I obv didn't expect it to be hot outta the waffle maker but it was def crunchy LOL Plus points for having a cute interior / space to work. $11 coffee, and no wow factor. It's my fault for spending $11 on a coffee, but I did so expecting a unique experience. I purchased a watermelon "seriously fun" roast and expected it to have something new and unique. It felt short. The service was just fine, but I felt like the staff was in a rush to get my order and move on. I was disappointed overall with the experience. I'm sure there were better options for me. This was a super cute and trendy spot, the light coming in through the windows was beautiful and the tables were so cute! The drinks came out quickly and they looked very pretty. My husband wished his mocha latte was a bit sweeter but when I tried it, it tasted very good. So really just preference. The only thing that threw me off was when I walked in I was looked over up and down and then briefly told hello. The server kinda addressed us in a way that made my husband and I feel like we were in a place where we didn't belong. New coffee shop in Boise! Let's go. First off it's so dang cute in there. Second, the tea is on tap!! That's so cool!! I think it was the best tea I have ever received at a coffee shop. I got the Cocteau which was vanilla, mint, grapefruit, and roobios. So creamy! I appreciate a coffee shop that thinks about the quality of tea just as much as the coffee! New coffee shop? You know I need to check it out. I forgot to take photos but the location is perfect. I walked up and saw a lot of basic fold up chairs taking advantage of shade in the front, and there's a fire pit for outdoor enjoyment when it's colder. I didn't get food; I got the Norman latte with oat milk. I wish I could give it more than a 3, but it wasn't my favorite. There was no noticeable flavor, and for $8, I didn't feel it was worth it. I'd love to try again sometime, but based on this one try, it's not worth the money IMO. The people were incredibly nice! I loved that about opening day here. They definitely have some really cute apparel and gear -- very IG-friendly stuff. Overall it's a 3.5/5 for me. I'll try it again sometime with more to taste; I just was not impressed with the price for the flavor. read more

Wonderful coffee prepared by wonderful people! My wife and I were visiting from out of town and made sure to stop by here. I ordered a pour over that was incredible, and my wife had an equally delicious matcha latte. The large, storefront windows and corner location of the cafe provide lots of natural light and a cozy environment to hang out inside. If you love coffee, you will love this place. I think it's one of the best in Boise. The baristas are very friendly and helpful and guide you to an amazing drink. They have some amazing coffees available which can be done by pour over, and 2 espresso blends available. I have never been disappointed with the coffee here, I appreciate both the pour overs and the espresso. The shop is very clean, cute and hip with lots of windows and light. Well, I finally got to visit Pine for the first time! Love the location and shop is cute but.... I just cant get my head around an $8 (6.73 plus 1.00 tip)small chia latte! Was this the best chia latte I'd ever had? NO, wasn't bad by any means but not more then average. I've gone in twice and the first time I went in, the men at the counter were so sweet. The second time I went in, there was a girl working and she had the worst attitude I've ever experienced while being a paying customer. She was very quick to take the order, rushing us while we were trying to make a decision. Then she rolled her eyes and was very disrespectful when asking how our day was, cutting us off and walking away before even getting our words out. I will never be coming back to this establishment due to this girls attitude, and I have been warning others as well, as my roommate also had a horrible experience with her. You can't call yourself a customer service employee while also being the worst at customer service. Pine has INCREDIBLE coffee and even more incredible customer service. The baristas are knowledgeable about all things coffee and happy to answer questions. The seating is the only issue I take with the shop- I would prefer if the tables faced the window instead of the bar for some privacy from the line of customers. My friend and I were so excited to try this new coffee spot on 6/15 and quickly were bummed by how unfriendly the service was. I ordered a 16 oz latte with two shots and they assumed I meant 4 shots lol and it was a whole awkward debacle to have them fix it and refund me. They were very odd about the whole shots thing and didn't understand what two shots meant // that they only pulled ounces in shots--it just felt weird and treated me like an idiot. Anyways! Both of our coffees tasted horrible--mine was wayyyy to sweet and could barely taste any coffee. I also tried their little waffle and it was so stale and not edible. Overall, their facility was really nice and I enjoyed the outdoor seating but the coffee, staff and ways of doing business was not good. We will not be returning! read more
