Wow!!! This place has character. They have 3 bouncers in the place, bras hanging from the ceiling. Multiple bartenders to take your order. So far I have been there twice, once they had a live band that was handing out sex toys to the crowd, and the other night they had a DJ. Nothing crazy with the drinks, but the crowds were a pretty good size on both nights. This place is 2 stories, with the bathrooms upstairs and pool tables on both floors. Arcade games as well. Lots of seating. I would recommend checking this place out for something different than most of the other places. read more

Honestly, we should have come here sooner! It's pretty cool! It's really big inside a lot bigger than we expected. The vibes were good, pool tables , 3 different levels of space to sit and chill! The building itself is a really awesome building. The live band that played was really good! Great covers ones you can totally sing-along and have a great time with. My husband and I , my daughter and her husband gave this place a shot and it was a really fun night. If you're in Downtown Boise give Humpin Hannah's a try for the night life bar pub vibe! Coming here is definitely a choice! I feel like it's a rite of passage you have to experience at least once if you're visiting Boise. The space is HUGE. You walk in and there are bras hanging from the ceiling, and it looks like the place hasn't been updated at all since it opened, which is part of its charm. We were lucky enough to come on a night that the Rocci Johnson Band was performing, which was a lot of fun. They were celebrating people's birthdays, singing all the hits, throwing prizes out into the crowd. I was shocked when I saw that they perform here every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday night and even more shocked to read another review saying that they've been playing at Humpin' Hannah's for 30 years. Insane! It leans towards being a college bar, but there were people of all ages here which was fun. It's quite an experience. Cheap drinks, fun music, lots of people. They had security guards throughout the space, and at one point I was sitting alone waiting for my fiance to come back from the bathroom and one of the security guards approached me to make sure I was okay. They were on it! I love to see that, especially in a bar like this that attracts a big crowd. read more

Such an amazing fun bar that is an absolute staple in the community. I havent been back to Boise in 10 years but its great to see this place still thriving. Hannnahs is loved by the nearby university and all of the locals as well. Very fun, has live music, two floors, very big open clean space. Humpin Hannah's was a blast! Was in Boise for the weekend celebrating my cousin in law's 23rd birthday and decided to come by here for the night. I had no idea how iconic this place was in Idaho, but I definitely understood why by the end of the night! Initially they play good songs with the music video displayed in the background before The Rocci Johnson Band comes out with Rocci herself performing and generously throwing goodies into the crowd. I was having a great time with a bachelor's party...the woman's who was waiting tables upstairs dragged away a woman who I was talking to which I thought was highly disrespectful. I'm a great guy and meant her no harm. She didn't seem like she had been drinking at all. They knew each other. The girl waiting tables was very rude to interrupt the interaction. I don't see how a personal interaction is allowed to be interfered with by employees. read more

The bouncer is so incredibly rude. By the looks of these reviews it seems to be a common occurrence. If it's not clear it's the 300 pound , spiked grey hair guy. It started by him trying to say my ID was not real, when it is. He took it and told me to "gtfo the exit is there". I was there with colleagues, all over 30. His tone was very rude and ruined my night for sure. Kept telling me to gtfo. This guy definitely just gets off at yelling at people. Was in boise for the night and hoping to hump. Came here with some friends and shot pool for a few hours, good vibes! The DJ played all the hits, decade by decade. My favorite was the transition from No Diggity to Smells Like Teen Spirit! I wore my wifebeater and leather jacket and pranced around like a stallion, hoping the heads would turn my way , but turns out all the ladies were either too young or too old for my taste. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Saw multiple posts about a bouncer kicking people out and thought a group of 8 30 year olds on a business trip would be okay.. man was I wrong. After we walked in and bought 8 beers we walked over to a pool table at 9:45 on a Thursday night (maybe 8 other people in the place) when all of a sudden one of the bouncers walks upstairs and proceeds to kick out a guy on his first beer for being too intoxicated. Apparently for walking into the wrong (maybe not even labeled as we couldn't see one) restroom and walking back out when realizing his mistake it's worth losing service of half the bar by kicking him out. Seems like bouncers on a power trip, which is a shame as it seemed like a cool bar.. we had a great time at Pengilly Saloon afterwards with their live band and pool table.. highly recommend read more

I trekked far off my usual routine for a Friday night and found myself downtown at Humpin Hannah's per a recommendation of a colleague. I've lived in Boise for more than 18 years and never once stepped foot inside HH. I wasn't sure what to expect but I surely didn't expect to see the world's largest collection of bras. There are bras of every size, shape, and pattern hanging from the ceiling and decor. I wasn't sure what the story was about the 'sous-vetements' until a patron contacted one of the employees to make a 'donation' The 'donation' was not risqué but reminded me of that scene from Flashdance. Once the bra was no longer confined it was released and hung. There was an instant celebration with applause and cheering. Throughout these donations, HH is a very active bar scene with all the usual suspects and more. Sure there are bridal parties, guys in flip-flops and shorts, couples, and of course friends. HH is more than a bar as it has two floors, pool tables, dart boards, and interesting decor throughout. Service was great and attentive and HH made a new fan. While I may not able to go weekly, I'll try to make it to HH as regularly as I can and check out the new additions to the collection. read more

The vibe here was something like I've never seen!!! I'm a California native so seeing hella people sing Katy Perry at the top of their lungs was semi alarming at first lol. I loved the inclusivity of everyone there and seeing everyone go crazy and be themselves. The Location: It is located in Downtown Boise, near the intersection of W Main St and N Capitol Blvd. Parking looks relatively easy to find. The People: Staff and bartenders are very friendly. The Drinks: - Rum and Coke: A solid strong drink. - Water: It is free, self-serve, stay hydrated. The Venue: - I came on a Wednesday around midnight after checking out a live show at Neurolux. This venue has a fun college vibe, it reminds me of UCLA's Barneys Beanery in Westwood by comparison (if anyone has been there). They were playing live music with classic rock and pop hits of the 00s. They have two floors, although the majority of people seemed to stay on the first floor. They have a decent dance floor, some pool tables, and good drinks. Upshot: Humpin Hannah's is definitely a fun place to come with friends and dance the night away. read more

This is my favorite bar in the world!!! I'm born and raised in Boise but I went to college in California. I've also been to bars/nightclubs in China, Spain, and Mexico and honestly nothing has topped Hannah's for me. I like how there's a chill but also a party vibe. You can play pool, sit down and have a drink, or go dance on the dance floor. There's also a payphone box upstairs where you can go inside and call someone without hearing any outside noise. I also love how there's never a cover fee (besides on holidays) and I love the $1 shots in the very front once you walk in. In my college town in California, it was $5 - $10 every weekend to get into one bar which is ridiculous. There's also no wait to get inside Hannah's, unlike other bars I've been to, where wait times can eat up your whole night. Hannah's not only has loyal customers, but they have loyal workers as well. I've noticed ever since I've turned 21, I still recognize some bartenders and bouncers that work here! The bartenders are super quick at making drinks and the bouncers recognize their regulars. Perhaps it's the risqué name, the long line that this bar always has out front, or the fact that I go downtown maybe once or twice a year that has prevented me from coming here until now. At the ripe ol' age of twenty five, I have finally made my first trip to Humpin' Hannah's. I remember moving to Boise seven years ago, driving past this place and thinking to myself, "Nothing good could happen at a bar with that name." LOL. Don't let the name or bras hanging from the ceiling fool you, friends. This place possesses a peculiar class of it's own. Sure, its class doesn't look like a perfectly clean interior, modern design, or fancy glass-wear. But it looks like the bouncers smiling at you and telling you to have a good time when you walk in, music being played that reminds you of your childhood, and the fact the dance floor is occupied by people of all ages and from all walks of life. Right when you walk in, there is a little bar set up to the left of the front door that offers $1 shots and $2 PBRs. The shots are served in those little test tube looking things. (This made me think of that scene from Miss Congeniality, so I had no choice but to try one hehe.) The shot was yummy and tasted like liquid candy more than anything. After trying one of these, my friends and I indulged in a "Purple Viking". This was good-ish, but not my fave. The mix of grape and vodka made it taste like cough syrup, IMO. Towards the back of the venue, they have a dance floor with a live band playing music (see my review for Simple Ruckus). When the band took a break, music was played over the loud speakers with accompanying videos projected on the back screen of the stage. This is probably my favorite place I've gone dancing in Boise! The music is fun, and people (for the most part) keep it classy in here and respect your personal space. Humpin', Humpin' Hannah's! With a name like that, what could go wrong? It took me probably 10 years of hearing the name and living in the area to visit this place and I've only done so twice. 32nd person to review Humpin Hannah's in downtown Boise. This is my 463rd review. The owner does a lot for the local community and especially gay rights and inclusion for ALL (ANYONE). She also has a local band, holds pleasure parties at the establishment (giving away adult themed items--per Radio Ads) and wants to see everyone enjoy their life. You can see her in action in some of the photos associated with this establishment. Walking into Humpin Hannah's (Hannah's for short) is a blast from the past. There are so many things to look at-- it's like a museum of time and culture. One of the noticeable things right away is the many bras hanging from the ceiling (don't worry, none are mine!). There are two levels to this place with multiple bars, pool tables, and a dance floor. I would imagine that it can get pretty busy here. There is a mix of people of all ages here. Enjoy. A once marginally decent place to catch a fair drink and some music. Sadly, a third place kareokee contestent has been given a 14 year contract to disappoint and drive the good folks of Boise to an alternative location. The evident botox in the singer's face not only inhibited her subpar singing abilities but was easily outshined my the drummer singing back up. The "lead" singer made sure to give a call out to the owner between every song, one can only assume to give her yet another one year extension on her contract consisting of $25 and unlimited well drinks. The owner appeared to be a young man properly fueled with mid-shelf vodka and white claws enjoying the ego bosting hype from the stage with his 4 friends presumably drinking free on his tab. When your wealthy father believes in his son to run a business, and it's a bar, this is the result. Please, someone call Jon Taffer. The upper balcony was closed off at the dance floor which was ashame as I thought it might be the only reprieve from this madness. Thank goodness the back stairway was open so I could ascend the cheap iron staircase to use thier only restroom available. The facility is set up structurally for success as in the brick looks as though it would hold up for many years to come, however the classless bras hanging from the ceiling and bullet riddled petroleum signs as decor added a level of grimness fit for a miserable and failing used car salesman and his oil "technician" buddy that quit high school and found a career field that allowed for repeated drug use into his mid 40s. "Wednesday's Ladies Night" couldn't be much more than a statement said repeatedly on the radio as the establishment was filled with a fax/copy company party of 4 men and the rest of what can only be described as sad band supporters primarily middle to retired aged males. The one mildly attractive girl had the complete and total attention of the sloppy faced copy salesman ranging from 47 to 56 years old. At one point a women? came in wearing deer horns carrying a battery powered glowing staff and full cloake. At this point my last thread of decency was starting to fray and before I caught an airborne venereal disease or had my drink spiked with a Centrum Silver, I hailed an Uber back to the 500. read more

We had too much fun in this place! The music was flowing, fast service on the dranks and an eclectic crowd to boot. A great place for friends or to meet someone new. Everywhere you turn there is a little surprise, a twist or turn here and there. Not much to say about it because it is weirdly a straightforward, all around fun place. DJ Bubbles was dishing all the 80s/90s hits for our thirsty ears as well as some trancey music the later it got. Enjoy every moment. This place is for everyone. Came in to see this 350 lb bouncer waddle my way. Probably mid 30's, greasy red hair spiked up, somehow face was still covered in acne and a stench like he forgot to wash between his fat folds. Dude was a complete and total Jackass to me, telling me to "get the fuck out" and then to my girlfriend as well, whom he harassed when she wanted to leave because I wasn't let in. I asked to get my Id back "fuck no, get the fuck out". Came here based on a google search of "top college bars in Boise" left without my ID, a bad taste in mouth, and no desire to ever return. Lots of bad reviews on here citing the bouncer, I'm sure it's the same one. Shame such a good bar could be ruined by one employee. Boise is a fun city and most every place will encourage your having fun but avoid Humpin Hannah's. Even if you get in your vibe will be killed by the bouncer. read more

I won't lie....I heard the name of this place and was like, WHAAAT? We were in town visiting cousins and they said we had to go here for a drink and to hang out. We had many drinks, as the service was hands down the best service we had ever had. Rocky is on it! This place is clean, they follow the Covid rules, and people are treated like family here. I could not get over how massive this place was, and let alone how clean and in order it was. I pictured the bathrooms being gross and just insane, and they were far from that. We stayed for hours hanging out and watching all the shananigans happening. But let me tell you......Rocky does not put up with any bull. You act a fool and out of line, you are out of there!
