First Watch is one of my favorite breakfast and brunch spots! The food is always fresh, and there are plenty of options to choose from. Their fresh juices are delicious and a great way to start the day. A must-try is the Million Dollar Bacon--it has the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and a little kick of spice. It's absolutely worth the hype! I also really enjoyed the chilaquiles, which were flavorful, satisfying, and cooked just right. The atmosphere is bright, clean, and welcoming, making it a great place to meet friends, enjoy a family breakfast, or have a relaxing brunch. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the overall experience was excellent. I'll definitely be coming back for the Million Dollar Bacon and chilaquiles!

We dropped in for a local breakfast fix based on the hype. While the interior is fresh and modern, the exterior has that "copy-paste" shopping center aesthetic that's hard to love. The food was a bit of a mixed bag: Chimichurri Steak & Eggs Hash: Heavy on the spuds, light on the steak and chimichurry. Strawberry Tres Leches French Toast: I would've settled for Dos Leches, but this was just standard strawberry French toast--no soak in sight. Both dishes had the potential to be icons but landed in the "just okay" zone. That said, everything tasted fresh, which earns them a generous round-up to four stars.

Yes it is a chain. The food here was good just like our experience at other locations. The service was excellent. Alexa was excellent. Wonderful customer service. Would be a regular if we lived in the area. Clean restaurant. Clean restrooms. Lots of parking even with construction going on in the area.

There's only a few breakfast places in the valley that are outstanding and I was hoping this one would be included, but unfortunately it fell short. When trying a new breakfast places I always order the pancakes. I love pancakes, but not all pancakes are created equal. Some are better than others and this one was on the low end. I ordered the pancake combo with eggs and bacon. My egg (scrambled) was done okay. I like a softer cooked egg and this was slightly overcooked for my liking but much better than other places. My bacon was a bit cold and the pancake, well that was the biggest disappointment. It was dry and overcooked. On the pro: the service was quick and friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Oh and I tired some of my husband's potatoes; they were very good! So, we might give this place another chance.

Overall a hot mess. When we arrived we put our name in with the hostess and were told we'll receive a text within 15-20 minutes. No message. Went inside to check where we were at and apparently they were waiting for us. The inside is styled nicely and clean. After being at the table for about 5 minutes, I got the text that I never received. When our waitress arrived, she immediately asked if we needed more time with the menu or if we were ready. We ordered and waited. And waited. And waited. We saw our food come out and get delivered to the wrong table. The people commented on how it wasn't their food but the waitress told them to keep it. More time went by. We waited about 45 minutes to receive our food. We finally received one of our dishes and had to wait another 5-10 minutes for the second. Food was good but service was utterly painful. The manager came by and apologized for the service and offered a coupon to return. The gesture was nice but wow I'm not sure if I want to risk giving up another 2 hours for a meal.

Came to First Watch for brunch today. I did wait a couple weeks after opening to come. I know it's the new joint in town so everyone wants to try it out also. I was hoping that it would be moderately busy so that it wasn't a crazy wait. Walking in, I was instantly greeted by a hostess. It was "busy" but there were quite a few empty tables. The hostess said it'd be about a 5 minute wait. I hung out in the front. It's dope that they have a big pot of coffee with all sorts of sugars and creamers available. I chilled for a minute before another hostess got me sat. Devin, our server, took care of us today. I was still sipping on my coffee when he asked if I wanted something else to drink. I did notice a mint mocha on their website but decided to wait for my friend so we can get them together. After my other half arrived, we got our drinks and food ordered. The mint mocha looked delicious while Devin was putting on the table. It was garnished with a bright green mint leaf. The mocha was topped off with some cold foam and chocolate chips. I like that you can taste the mint in the drink. The mint wasn't overwhelming like you're drinking a piece of mint gum. The coffee, chocolate and mint was all balanced. For brunch I got the traditional breakfast. You can't go wrong with the classics. My plate was hearty with potatoes, 2 chunky sausage links, eggs and a piece of toast. The toast was overly buttered and I appreciate that! My eggs were cooked over medium which was perfectly jammy to dip my toast in. I asked for my sausage to be over cooked and they were. They serve warm sryup in a cute little dispenser. Dipping the sausage in that warm syrup was so good! My potatoes were seasoned nicely but they still had a bite to them. To me, they tasted kinda raw still in the middle. The little pieces were cooked and tender but the bigger pieces needed a little more cooking time. I did grab a side of gravy for my potatoes. I like that the gravy had sausage in it but it wasn't overwhelming. And the gravy wasn't crazy thick. It was a great breakfast. I love how they turned this old Denny's into this bright, beautiful venue. I love the country home style decor and setting. The windows give the place a beautiful brightness to it. Devin did a great job handling our table today. The food was almost there for me. It would have been a home run but the potatoes missed that mark. Potatoes shouldn't be a big deal but being from Idaho, it kinda is! Happy i got to try it out! I'm looking forward to coming back and trying other items off their menu.

Breakfast and lunch (hours roughly 7a to 2:30p daily) are on the menu at this Florida HQ'd chain restaurant (535 locations in 29 states) making its' debut in Idaho in Meridian in the building on Fairview that was once home to a Denny's.  My husband and I enjoyed breakfast here during their preview weekend, in advance of the official opening on May 5 (Monday).  I think it important to disclose that First Watch paid for our meal and although we are in general "we don't eat at chains" people, even had we been paying our own bill, we would gladly return.  All was just right, from healthy menu options, to "thanks for coming today" warm hospitality, to food quality and friendly table service.   Given this is a big chain, you're going to see a corporate-formula-food menu, although it does change seasonally, and the menu was intriguing for healthy options that fit how my husband and I prefer to eat.  Also, I am a fan of the way the company treats their employees and their business practices.   We left eager to return. VIBE, SEATING, ACCESSIBILITY: This has been remodeled from a former Denny's. They've done a good job of freshening up the interior. There are several options for accessible seating for people (like me) who arrive on wheels as well as for people who arrive on feet.  There are booths, tables, banquettes and I think I even spied some high height stool / chair seating. The couple who arrived to be seated at the table next to us had a toddler with them and a high chair was provided. MENU:  The menu is on an oversized, two sided sheet and includes but is not limited to egg dishes of all kinds, pancakes and waffles, grain bowls, sausages and bacon, biscuits and (turkey sausage) gravy, salads, soup, sandwiches...the list goes on...coffee from women growers in Columbia (it was very good) and fresh squeezed juice combinations.  Options aplenty for omnivores, vegetarians and vegans. FOOD & $$: Coffee is served by the pot so we ordered one pot (well insulated and stayed hot through the meal to provide us with 2 cups each), one Morning Meditation juice blend (oj, beet, turmeric, ginger, agave), one side of Million Dollar Bacon (which interestingly is on the online menu - they are famous for it - but was missing from the paper menu - make sure to order it), a veggie burger main that came with fresh mixed salad greens (seriously, me for breakfast) and ricotta lemon pancakes served with lemon curd and fresh strawberries for my husband.  All was carefully prepared and perfectly delicious.  Had we been paying the bill, the breakfast would have been $49.65.  Worth every penny. SERVICE:  It cannot be overstated how friendly everyone was during this preview weekend.  Managers were on the floor greeting customers and keeping an eye on service and helping out as needed. They had people there from other FW locations with experience to help direct floor activity.  Our server was still in a process learning curve (she forgot to put in the order for our side until someone else stopped to check on us, and our mains had to be run to table by another server and mine was lukewarm as if waiting in the kitchen, and then we got a second side when we had ordered only one) but that's what "friends and family invited guest" days are for, to work those new-kids kinks out.  PARKING:  The lot for this former Denny's building is spacious.  It includes 4 spaces of accessible parking and they are ADA compliant.  LOO:  His and Hers and not uni-loo.  Hooray.   BUT in the ladies there are only 2 stalls and one is teeny tiny so, just sayin', with all these diners drinking coffee and specialty juice beverages this is a conundrum. MORE TO COME: Bound to be very popular as people discover it so it is good news to learn they are opening a second location in Boise off of Ten Mile in a couple of months.

We had heard about this restaurant from friends of ours from Oregon. We went there last Saturday and we loved the food. I had the two eggs with potatoes and sausage links. They were delicious. Everything was cooked just the way I asked it to be. Our waitress was absolutely outstanding. My wife had the skillet, with eggs and vegetables and it was cooked to perfection. The taste of the skillet was one of the best I had ever eaten. If you get a chance, this restaurant is definitely worth stopping at. Thank you for a delicious breakfast.

Of course they had an extensive wine menu, but even though we were both underage there were many options for us. My girls strawberry lemonade was pretty tasty. We made a reservation, so we were seated pretty quickly. The folks were so nice, the ambiance was pretty chill, having dairy queen as a general date spot this was a wonderful treat for us both. We ordered an appetizer of cheese bread. I thought it was pretty good quality, a little high price, bur I expected that because it's a higher end restaurant. Our entree's took a bit of time, but it was to be expected the place wasn't empty. I think we waited somewhere between 15 to 30 minutes after we finished our bread. But when they came, it was worth the wait. I ordered a 14 oz new york strip. My family raises their own beef, so steak is nothing new to us. It was so good, I took a piece home to share with my family, and everyone agreed, it was fantastic. My girl had the rotisserie chicken, falling off the bone delicious, Colonel Sanders needs to step up his game. Another thing I can say, I find usually in high end restaurants I find myself still hungry afterwords, not here, I was completely satisfied with my meal. We ordered dessert, it was the vanilla bean something or other, don't eat fancy so I don't quite know these things. Here comes my only complaint, the sugar coating tasted a bit like burnt coffee, but was still delicious and we ate the whole thing. Before she brought it out, our server asked about the occasion. She took a picture of us with our dessert, which had writing in strawberry sauce, "happy anniversary". Like I said, we don't eat fancy often, especially because we feel unwelcome in many places with as young as we are (18 and 19), but this place made both me and my girl feel special, thank you land and ocean. I cut our faces out for privacy, she took a good picture don't worry about that.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to order food because we had to catch a movie. However, during our visit, we overheard who we believe to be one of the owners (his photos were displayed on the wall) speaking poorly about employees and referring to them as "idiots." That alone was disappointing, but hearing it within earshot of customers felt extremely unprofessional. As a long-time business owner myself, I firmly believe you are only as strong as your team. Respecting employees -- especially publicly -- is critical to a healthy work environment and strong customer experience. It was uncomfortable to witness and ultimately the reason we won't be returning. I genuinely felt sorry for the staff working that shift. Additionally, it appeared that both owners may have been drinking while on shift, which also felt unprofessional. One of them did approach us and seemed very sweet, but after overhearing the earlier comments, it unfortunately changed the entire atmosphere for us. The overall ambiance was decent, and Alex did a great job. It's just disappointing when leadership undermines what could otherwise be a positive experience.

The sauce with it was such a great pairing. The queso dip was also super delicious, but thankfully only had a few bites. It's definitely a heavy dish. I understand that they were trying to make a healthy menu with it but the quinoa cauliflower rice mix was bland and did not have much flavor. I wish there was a bit more of a sauce with it. The chicken also turned out very dry. But the Oreo brookie was definitely delicious. It is very big and was glad that we shared that amongst the four of us. We finished our walk and made our way to the restaurant. This will be our 6th year having lunch here. Trying to keep our traditions alive. As a courtesy, we called the day before to let management know that they will be expecting a party of 20. This joint charges 30 bucks per person for reservations as a deposit. 30 bucks?!? It's quite humorous really, 30 dollar deposit is more than a majority of their meals they charge. The manager on duty last year told us to call to let them know for a heads up but not necessarily make a reservation. And of course that manager doesn't work there anymore. The manager I spoke with was a complete joke. "Saturday is our busiest day". We'll, if it's your busiest day than why aren't you properly staffed? "We can't just serve you in 2 seconds". Never have I asked to be served in 2 seconds. What kind of management team do you have running this joint? Clearly unprofessional clowns. We showed up at opening. Clearly I wasn't taken seriously since the hostess had no clue about our large party coming. No tables were set up. "You should have came at 11:30". I didn't know that we had to accommodate to the manager and his timing. He set up our tables and didn't even bother with us the whole time we were there. Food was good. I had the salmon. I had asked for my salmon to be overly cooked. With my new kidney, I can't have anything like fish and beef rare. My fish was not cooked the way I asked and had to be sent back. I expressed to the server if needed out more than well done. So honestly, I don't think the cook took my request seriously. Last year eating at the restaurant was a crap show. This year is a bigger crap show. So many better restaurants in town that don't have this ridiculous reservation fee and yet this joint does. Management here is on the same tier as a trash can. Honestly, after this last visit, we might consider going to another joint to start a new tradition. My family and our money is worth more than the disrespect management gave us.

There was feedback about a beef dish that was returned as diners felt the meat was tough and fatty They were given credit for the meal and it was removed from their bill. There wasn't a full bar but I enjoyed the wine ( Pinot noir) I had. Others in my group had beer. The servers were delightful, attentive, accommodating and fun to interact with. Hopefully they remain in service as I'd like to give them another shot. Love to try the lobster next time and desserts. I highly recommend giving them a shot. PS. The decor is warm and homey feeling. I actually enjoy this joint but after that last visit, I honestly wouldn't have been sad if we didn't come back. My son wanted to celebrate his birthday here. How do you say no to that? So, on Sunday we made our way in for an dinner to celebrate my son's 27th birthday. After a majority of our party showed up, we got sat. Maura took care of us today. She super sweet! I ran into her in the ladies room and she was nice in there too. I knew we were going to be in good hands after my encounter with her. My son went to the wrong restaurant even though he picked this place. So while we were waiting him to get here, we got some appetizers started. My husband got a handful of free appetizer cards given to him at his work. So an onion blossom and some potato skins were ordered. Bruhhhh, it was all so good! And on top of the appetizers we had rolls with that famous butter to keep us happy. I ate my weight in rolls, butter and potatoes. I was content! We finally got dinner ordered after my son arrived. We were all ready! I got the ribeye for dinner, smothered with onions and mushrooms of course. And two sides of the mixed veggies. I asked for my ribeye too be will done and the grill master delivered! The char was perfect! The onions and mushrooms were a nice addition to it. My broccoli and carrots were really good!! I polished a good portion of my dinner. I finished the rest the following night. We ended dinner with my son riding the wooden horse. He was sung to which made my mom heart so happy. Maura did a fantastic job taking care of us. We had such a great time! Maura was sweet, attentive and delivered a great service. Completely black and white between our last visit and current. I look forward to coming back soon. I miss living around the corner like I used to. So it's a treat to have a steak here.

We…read morehave been here now for nearly two years, and we came here today, Friday, for an early dinner. It was not crowded, and we were seated right away. For some reason, we were seated in a corner booth near the bathrooms, while other customers were seated elsewhere in the restaurant. We didn't mind, however, because it was nice and quiet. And, for me, convenient. My wife had the Sirloin Salad, and I had the Ahi Poke Salad. My wife said that her meat was cooked the way she likes it, and the rest of the ingredients were delicious. For me, the ahi, sesame vinaigrette dressing, wonton strips, onions, and greens were very good. The food is always good at The Tavern. And, the prices are reasonable. Unlike our past experiences, the service this time around was not up to our usual. Our server, Hannah C., seemed in a rush and impatient. Though she told us to ask her if we had questions, I didn't find her responses to be pleasant. The first dish my wife was interested in had Boursin cheese. My wife had not heard of it, and she cannot eat a lot of cheese. She preferred something milder, like mozarella. When she inquired of Hannah, the reply was terse. "We don't have mozarella." "Do you have another milder cheese?" "Like what?" Not in a nice way, and not professional, in my opinion. And, she was loud. We waited longer than usual for our food, and when Hannah brought it, she just dropped the plates and split. To her credit, she did check in on us once during our meal. Now I don't know what kind of day Hannah was having. Maybe not so good. I don't know what kind of person she is, and I'll give her the benefit of the doubt that she is a nice woman. Hopefully she is not like how she was with us to all of her customers. I'm a 20% tipper. For her, it was 18%. I wasn't given a choice, but I would have gone down to 15%.
