The food was ok. No flavor. My ice tea came mere seconds before my food. The bacon was still a bit raw in the middle. I was at the table around 5+ minutes prior to any staff acknowledging the table. I left my employ I've tea glass on the edge of the table and the server ignored it. I finally had to ask for a refill. Overall, sub-par. read more

I work out of state on a regular basis and am home for 2-3 three weeks every 1 1/2 to 2 months and love to go out for breakfast at least once a week while I'm home. Two First Watch locations have been opened since I was away, one being close to our house on 10 Mile and the one on Fairview where we went today, the old Denny's location. We discovered Joes Breakfast Eatery off/around Overland & Eagle about a year ago and have been going there many times ever since, today we thought we'd test the waters of "the new place in town", we've also patronized Biscuits and Hogs and Joe Mamma's which both have dishes that don't disappoint. To test the waters we thought we would split "The Works Omelette", usually a staple of all restaurants cuz of that comes out good and you get the "Wow" factor from one plate you know other items have to be good or great. Maybe I was expecting more of what we ordered than what we were served. The other restaurants I mentioned above, any thing you order you say "holy moly" or "holy cow" or "damn" because of the portion size for the price you pay. Signature items like jalapeño glazed bacon from B&H or the Joe's potatoes, because of which is why my wife and I usually split meals due to the portion size. Dont get me wrong, we love taking home leftovers of what's left if we order separately. This afternoon like I mentioned above we got The Works Omelette, instead of the "Wow" factor it was more like "Wtf". Visually as to as it was delivered to the it appeared small. It had all that was mentioned on the menu but very little in the omelette. Sliced sausage links were the sausage instead of ground breakfast sausage, cubed ham (which is normal) as far as the veggies included, very minimal and mostly mushrooms (I'm talking like 4 big chunks) If the omelette was called the "Loaded Works Omelette" I would have been more disappointed than I already was. For the $14.79 omelette you could have got the same size omelette from a Denny's of a dollar more an omelette twice the size for a dollar more at one of the restaurants mentioned above. To wrap this up as far as service, most are on the younger side and ours may need a bit more training but she tried and will get there as we asked for one Coke Zero and two waters, she brought the two waters and Two Coke zeros, not a big deal and took the one back. I get the "New restaurant" factor and wanted to try to give it a go but I think we'll just stick and alternate visiting the few in the valley we love were impressed by first time when we went to them. We probably and more than likely never be back. read more

We came to the meridian idaho location last week and had a issue when putting in our reservation on their website of being told it did not matter if we put our name on the list we still had to wait the whole time. A manager gave us muffins and said we did it right they were in the wrong and wouldn't happen again. To behold came again today because my kid absolutely loved the food and it happened again. From the moment we walked into the First Watch in Meridian, the vibes were off. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, there was an awkward line forming at the front, and we ended up waiting longer than expected with very little communication or warmth from the staff. We hoped the food would turn things around--it didn't. My omelet was more like a loosely folded egg around a fistful of meat, with a single slice of cheese barely melted in. My daughters and I went to First Watch this morning to celebrate my daughters 29th birthday. We were greeted at the door with a good morning and a big smile . There was no wait for our table . The restaurant was almost completely full . It is bright and fresh and clean . So much nicer than what it used to look like as a Denny's. We were given our menus by our waitress who was bubbly and very friendly. She took our drink orders and brought out drinks in just 19 min . We packed our orders and when the food arrived it was hot . Each plate was better looking than the next . They don't have any kind of reward program but they did comp part of my daughter's meal for her birthday. We never had to ask for anything as our waitress was always checking in on us and at one point she was busy there was someone else asking if we needed anything . My only complaint was that the bread with my eggs was very dry , like really dry ! Overall we Will definitely be back and I do recommend giving them a try . Their menu has something for everyone . we visited the new first Watch restaurant at the corner of Franklin Road and 10 mile on Sunday the 14th after church. The restaurant was jampacked 20 minute wait to get a table which turned into a 40 minute wait. The staff was very apologetic about the big crowd and the long wait time. I ordered the Monterey club sandwich. And a big fan of club sandwiches and have had the sandwich at different restaurants over the years. This one was the absolute worst I've ever had. Two pieces of wonder bread with a poorly constructed sandwich in between. It's the kind of food you'd expect to get in a prison or in the army. sandwich came with diced fried potatoes, which were way over salted. All in all a very disappointing experience. read more

We have eaten at First Watch restaurants when we travel and were very excited when we saw them being built in Idaho. Although it was Mother's Day weekend- we put our name on the call ahead list online and were seated within 10 minutes of arrival. The restaurant was hopping- the staff were mostly friendly and the food was great. The Harvest Hash and Chickichanga were delicious. Very large portions. The menu was a limited Mothers Day weekend menu so we will be back again to see what other options they will serve. read more

Came to the restaurant to try it out, what a beautiful experience. The food was amazing and fresh. Well worth it. But what made it top tier was our server Abbi, she greeted us with a smile, gave us breakfast suggestions, got our order to tee, and our drinks were filled before we went to ask. Nothing was missed. 1 Star - Absolutely Unacceptable If I could give zero stars, I would. I placed a simple order at First Watch at 11:40 AM--just two eggs. That's it. Not a full brunch spread, not a complicated substitution mess. Just. Two. Eggs. I waited over 30 minutes, and by 12:14 PM, I still had nothing. No food. No explanation. No urgency from the staff. I had to go up and ask multiple times, only to be met with blank stares and disorganized chaos behind the counter. The manager, Lori, was absolutely no help--completely dismissive and uninterested in resolving anything. It was like she was offended that I even expected the food I ordered. The environment was loud, scattered, and borderline hostile. It felt like no one had any idea what was going on or who was supposed to be doing what. It was like walking into a breakfast-themed fever dream. You don't go to a breakfast spot expecting a Michelin-star meal. You go expecting the bare minimum--a decent plate of food in a timely manner. This was my second time to First Watch, but my first time in Idaho. We went. To the one on Fairview. Service was great. Doneisha was our server. I checked in online and was given a 45-60 minute wait. I was added to a waitlist but never received a text. Once we arrived at the location I immediately checked in stating that I checked in online but was concerned having never received a text. She told me it was because I hadn't come to the front and told me I was second in line. I waited another ten minutes with people being seated before me and finally went back to the front. She told me I hadn't responded to the text. I reminded her that I originally didn't receive a text but was standing right there. She said she was sorry but didn't think they had a table for me. This is a great restaurant. So Clean. The food is special. They advertise that it's fresh and it is. Exceptional service. Claudia was our waitress for breakfast. She totally promoted the restaurant. You could tell she loved working there and was so proud of the food she served. When my eggs came they didn't look perfect (in the cook's opinion). I thought they were great but Claudia brought two more eggs that were more to the cook's satisfaction. Amazing. I like eating at a place where the staff is happy. We will return. read more

Went today for Mother's Day. We arrived at 8am and it was already packed! Our wait was only 10 min. We got seated right away. Beautiful and clean. Ambiance was great. We were immediately greeted at our table and our order was taken. The food came out pretty quick and it was delicious! Very good food. Very good service. We live right down the street and will definitely come again. The only thing I would suggest is the server we had was not very excited about showing us the menu or asked us if we would like anything along with what we ordered. For example: if I had not spoken up my omelette would have come with a salad and I don't want to eat a salad at 8am. She didn't offer bacon or sausage or house potatoes or hash browns. She didn't really inform us of anything on the menu. So I'm glad I asked if I could have potatoes with my delicious omelette! Otherwise I would have been stuck with a salad at 8am! She was nice, but slow, spent several minutes chatting with other guests instead of attending to her tables, didn't pay attention to empty drinks, and when asked for something (refill, napkins, etc.), she agreed, then didn't. Two traditional breakfasts, one with crispy/well done potatoes and crispy/well done bacon: both came to us the exact same. Either one was under-done or one was over-done. I'm glad to see some positive reviews of this restaurant, although I certainly can't say the same. My husband and I went in for the first time last week and it was anything but good. We were seated at a table pretty quickly, but I finally had to ask the host who our server was after we had sat there for about 10 or so minutes. The server came up and greeted us and brought some water, but took some time to come back and take our order. I ordered an eggs, Benedict dish and my husband ordered an omelette. One of my poached eggs was almost hard-boiled and the other one still had runny white. A server offered to remake it which they did and it was then fine my husband's omelette had cheese which had melted, and hardened before even was brought to the table. My husband has gone in by himself a couple more times to give them a chance since they are close to his work and similar types of things happened with his orders. I hope this restaurant can get it together, but I don't have much hope. read more

First watch your food is amazing. This is our 3rd visit here. Today we ordered the biscuits and gravy. Wow... biscuits were so moist and soft, with the turkey sausage gravy absolutely delicious and flavorful. The million dollar potatoes is a must ...knocked us out of the ball park. Avocado toast was enjoyed by all. The French toast is the best I have had. Fresh orange juice, you can't go wrong with that. Thank you for the friendly and kind service. read more

The service was average to slow, the tables are nice marble tops but due to the weight of the marble, the bases of the posts are so large that there's no room for both feet to be on the floor so it puts diners in an uncomfortable position. I ordered the chorizo omelet, it had about a tablespoon of chorizo and way to many slimy onions. I also like my food hot ant the omelet was Luke warm to cool. Not a pleasant experience. read more

I can only speak to what I ate. I had a side order of a biscuit and gravy. The biscuit was great. The gravy would have been great, but someone was heavy handed with cayenne pepper. I also had the notorious million-dollar bacon. It is really good. For some reason not listed on menu the server could not answer why. I would recommend trying them out. read more

The service was okay, however I have a couple of issues with the menu. If First Watch is going to brand that they are super healthy, organic, etc. then it should truly be that way. We were told that they had some juices that were purely made with fruits and veggies (like a fresh pressed situation) however they came out fairly quickly and tasted like bottled juice (we also saw bottled juice lining the kitchen walls when we walked it). They also gave me "2 eggs" which came out looking like one egg scrambled, a sad piece of gluten free toast, and what tasted like day old potatoes. Also putting "cage free" on your eggs makes 0 difference. They only add this trick people into thinking they're being sustainable and healthy, however the only label that matters is "pasture raised eggs". Overall not impressed. read more
