Hawaiian burger, small fries, and a Pepsi.
Nate M.

I came in at lunchtime on a Friday and they were not packed. The parking lot is small and was full so I was worried it would be busy. The host sat me and took my order while another waitress helped me through the rest of my vist. I ordered a Hawaiian burger, small fries and a Pepsi. It's hard to find Hawaiian burgers around so I was looking forward to it. The balance was good although it was light on the pineapple. A second ring might have helped. The fries though! A small is big enough for two people to share and while the 1 and 2 lb burgers are what they're known for, the fries are big too! Probably 1/2" home style cut fries. Sometimes home style cut fries are under cooked. Not these. They were nice and fluffy inside. And BIG!

Double bacon cheeseburger- customized toppings

Big Jud's is one of our favorite local burger places. We love sharing a 1lb Big Jud special between two (or more!) people. The buns are made in house and we love the texture. The flavor of the burger is always great, too. Another regular order for us is the double bacon cheeseburger, and the hickory chicken burger. The fries are as thick as a finger and include skins, which I always love. Fry sauce and ketchup are provided at the table. Fries were piping hot when they were brought out to us, and fresh soda cups were provided before we even got all the way to the bottom of our first cup. They're happy to send you with a to-go cup when you leave, as well! We got our orders in a very reasonable time for freshly made, which has been our experience every time we come.

I have to update my previous 4 star review. Big Juds earns 5 stars with every visit! This has become a go-to place for us. The food and service are always excellent! Cannot recommend this place enough! Tip: make sure you get the tator tots!

Big Jud Special -- 1 lb. cheeseburger with fries & drink plus a side order of Fried Pickles
Bryan A.

Last week, my wife was craving fried pickles. Interesting food choice, right? Maybe she was recalling one of her pregnancy moments... Haha. So I searched Yelp for places with fried pickles. Amazingly, I discovered that Big Jud's serves them! We had eaten at the Big Jud's south of Rexburg while visiting there some time ago; however, I hadn't noticed the fried pickles because of the incredible burgers that they prepare. Well, the fried pickles were good. Meanwhile, we shared the 1 pound Burger which was delicious! Between the two of us, we ate only half of the huge burger and 60% of the fries (fresh cut, BTW). It was a great lunch date with my sweetie!!!

Smallest milkshake I've ever seen.

We had a fantastic meal here! I ordered the flat iron steak salad, and my partner got the Cuz I'm a Cowboy Baby 1/2 # kobe burger. Both the steak and the burger meat were cooked to absolute perfection (a true medium rare). The lettuce and veggies in the salad were incredibly fresh and crisp, and it was tossed in a delicious, Greek-style dressing that complimented the dish perfectly. My husbands burger was topped with a cheesy fried tatertot and his onion rings were perfectly finished; the batter didnt slip off when taking a bite. I think the price was very fair for this filling luch. Our server, Sara, was wonderful--attentive, friendly, and great at her job. Highly recommend!

We ordered chips and guacamole, but the guacamole looked like there was just random stuff thrown into it, and sadly it was flavorless. The main dishes were okay. I ordered a sandwich and the meat was really full, but again, flavorless. I was so disappointed after really looking forward to a meal here. The wait staff tucked us in a corner and it felt like they forgot about us for the most part. We were asked how things were when we ordered or food was delivered to the table. The next time we saw them was for the bill. Sadly we won't be back.

We made our way in and waited till they showed up. The vibe was chill. There was another gentleman eating his burger. My husband and I checked out the menu while we waited. After my in laws showed up, we got what we wanted all lined to and ordered. I got the cheeseburger tonight with no bun and extra onions. I also good a side of zucchini fries. It's been about a year since we have eaten here and I remember the zucchini fries being so good! My burger looked fabulous! The zucchini fries had a nice golden crust to them. I was ready to dig in. I would have liked to put ketchup and mustard on my burger but unfortunately there were no to go packets of either. I can't really use communal sauces so I had to pass on adding sauce to my burger or be able to dip my husband's fries in ketchup. My burger was tasty. I did order it with extra onions and didn't really get any extra. I also don't remember my zucchini fries being so minimal to an order. The side I got today had about 6 rounds in it. As an additional cost, I honestly thought it would be more than 6 small rounds. It's been a year since we have eaten here. The food was good as usual. I do enjoy all the pinball machines that you can play on. The staff is nice. I appreciate that everything we ate today was locally sourced. I am sure we will be back again soon. Hopefully sooner than later.

Our order took about 15 minutes, which was fine. The Philly was made with ground beef and honestly would have been better as a shepherd's pie sandwich with mashed potatoes and corn. The burger came with only cheese and onions on a soggy bun--pretty disappointing. Fries were just okay, maybe even a little below that. We were asked if we wanted fry sauce; one of us said yes, the other no, but we ended up with two portions at an extra $0.25 each. Guess we should have read the menu more carefully. Overall, the food wasn't even satisfactory. Too bad--I really wanted to like this place. Red Onions? And for $25 with tip? Sigh. We should have gone to PHO NOMENAL as planned. sorry....

We parked next to the restaurant along a little access lane to the back of the strip mall. There is a little outdoor patio. When we first arrived the place was pretty busy, and there was maybe one table on the patio, so we opted to sit inside. In retrospect, we probably should have sat on the patio. The inside of the restaurant is also pretty small. There is a full service bar with seating on the left. Otherwise, there are plain wood tables and chairs. We sat by the window. By the time we left there was one other party of two at a table and one person at the bar. Not to be too critical, but the inside did not feel or smell clean. There was an odor of burnt cooking oil that was somewhat unpleasant, no doubt emanating from the kitchen. The bathrooms were decent. Our server took good care of us, but did not present much personality nor seem particularly friendly. The food was a mixed bag. I had the Grant burger with cheese. The patty was well cooked, medium, the way I like, though I wasn't asked how I wanted it. The bun was good. The french fries, while not crispy, were still good. My wife had the fish and chips. She was not fond of the batter for the fish, finding it a little to heavy and thick, and the fish not as flavorful as she'd like. So, overall, I would say that if we lived in a neighborhood close to Grant's, we might frequent it more. However, we live in Star, and there are restaurants much closer serving the same food that I feel is as good or better.
