Chicken Tenders Basket

The service was a bit slow. The ambiance was great!!! The food was okay but the milkshakes were delicious!!! Overall 4/5

Oreo Coated Twist (Vanilla-Choco) cone
Marc B.

The Oreo Coated Twist Cone looked and tasted great! I got the small cone and it was still huge (see my night pic). I came expecting to get a Flavor Burst Cone, which are still advertised online. However, they're not on the in-person menu and the counter server said they no longer offer them (stopped a while ago). I was a little disappointed because the Cotton Candy Yelp pics looked unique, but I was still super pleased with what I got. Also, nice staff that took orders and delivered cones. ... And to Nick the Manager, i was at the State St Boise location.

Banana Split

This location is a Boise classic, been here as long as I can remember! Simple drive thru and walk-up window with a few tables on the patio if you'd like to stay and eat. Classic American diner/fast food and pretty much a combination of soft serve you can imagine- dipped cones, milkshakes, banana split and many MANY toppings to choose from. Service is quick and friendly, ambience is "retro", and a really fun plan to grab some eats and treats!

S'mores shake

Aiden & Byrne great customer service everything was on point amazing staff and equally the food is so good! Reasonably priced definitely coming back the s'more's shake wow don't believe the haters

I wouldn't agree that Fanci Freeze whips up the "best" milkshakes in Idaho, but there is no denying that they aren't delicious! For a very reasonable price as well. This so-called small was big enough for both my husband and I to share - plus tax it was only about $4.00! Today we tried a huckleberry milkshake. I wasn't too fond of the huge chunks of frozen huckleberries, but the sips of without were yummy! Super thick and creamy, and reminded me of summers in McCall after going to Ice Cream Alley. I would definitely recommend Fanci Freeze to anyone looking for a wondeful sweet treat!

Swirl chocolate dip
Ali B.

Perfect way to end our trip to Boise! For some reason there are barely any soft serve spots in Phoenix, so I hop on any opportunity I can get to have some soft serve. My husband and I got extra small swirl cones dipped in chocolate. My husband wanted butterscotch but they were out. Was very reasonable price wise too and loved the retro feel. Very nostalgic!

Boston shake

A good ice cream to grab in a hot Summer although the parking is hard. They do have a drive-thru service. Friendly service. A bit disappointed the blast machine was down when we were there, but that gives us a good reason to come back again.

Advertised hot dog
Pamela R.

Ordered a basic hotdog that supposed to come with ketchup, mustard, and relish on the side. This is what their picture looks like on Door Dash. This is what I got!! Lesson learned! Trust me, when I work another flight here to Boise, I will NEVER order from this place again!!

Only had a milkshake to go and it seemed like a solid choice. Thick and tasted great. Got a small which seemed plenty filling. I'll defer to other Yelpers to evaluate the food.

My wife and I went to try this place after seeing it advertised on a local instagram page. Overall it was good and the food was fresh. Service was also great. I got the double cheeseburger with tots which they have labeled as "gems" on their menu. My wife got the bacon cheeseburger with the waffle fries and I should've gotten those instead cause they were good. Their buffalo ranch sauce is good. We also got the extra small cones with Oreos and they were big so I could imagine what the large looks like. Go check this place out when you're in the area.

Dipped cones: peanut butter coating on the left and chocolate on the right.
John S.

I've never ordered regular food here, just ice cream cones. I grew up on Tastee-Freez, which invented soft-serve ice cream and may have dipped them first, too. That's my favorite at Fancy Freez: a twist cone dipped in chocolate. My only gripe is that they're not consistent in how they dip. A properly dipped cone has the ice cream sealed in the chocolate or other coating. That prevents the ice cream from dripping all over you. Sometimes, they get it right here and other times there are gaps which cause a mess as the ice cream melts.

We went to check it out at the green acres and we're charged 19 bucks for the burger and if you look at some of their advertising pictures, the burgers look pretty big. But when we actually got it, it wasn't that much food. My partner and I finished it within a matter of a few bites. Overall, the flavor was decent, but I think the claim about them being the number one burger in the area is definitely overhyped. The patties were much smaller and they give you a small bag of chips to go with it. Although the burger was decent, I feel like the quality and the price point did not meet the value of it. It is at the Greenacres location so if you get to have a burger there you can enjoy the music that's in the area or choose from other options. Because we weren't too satisfied from the volume of the food we ended up having to get food from another food truck. Wouldn't be my first pick out of all the options there.

They are most definitely a top contender for the "best burgers" title in town. After hearing folks who'd found this place proclaim its greatness, I had to give it a go. Glad I did! Think fairly traditional burger fixings on 1/3 pound burgers done well. I've tried the cheeseburger and the feta and jalapeno burger. Both were tasty and cooked perfectly. They're the type of burgers that are simple, but that's a good thing. I'm a bit picky about my burgers and am sensitive to fries cooked in old oil. I'm happy to say these meals don't leave my gut regretting my life choices. Each burger comes with lettuce, pickle, red onion and tomato. They don't slather condiments on; you'll have to ask for those you like specifically. They also come with a side of thick-cut fries with light seasoning and fry sauce. I mean, this is Idaho. Gotta have the fry sauce. All of this clocks in at between 8-12 buckos. Their hours are a little wonky, so check before heading out. It's a food truck and they have limited outside table space. From what I gather this is primarily a dinner joint with most hours of operation between 3-10 pm. Pity, because having this as a lunch option would be dandy. Pop in here if you're on Overland and give these burgers a go. It's already becoming a regular stop for us!
