Stopped into Pac-Out to grab a couple milkshakes after dinner tonight. It was a little before closing when we stopped in so it was pretty chill. A sweet girl came over the intercom and greeted us. She was kind and gave us a minute to look over the menu. I'm a sucker for anything mint so I went with a small grasshopper. My husband went with a medium cookies and cream. These folks always push out such great food! It's been a while since we have had burgers here but the last time we ate here it was legit. Tonight's shakes were killer. My husband polished off his shake, clearlyhe looked it. My shake was so tasty! I appreciate that they have the mint ratio down. It was just the right amount of mint and flavorful. I have been to places that add too much mint but this joint has it down. There was a good amount of oreo cookies throughout the shake. I would have loved a larger size but the small was perfect for me. I look forward to coming back and grabbing a burger and another shake from this joint. The staff is always nice. The food is always good! And it's a local joint. We gotta stay supporting our local joints. Hopefully we will be back sooner than later. I was the fourth car in the drive through and waited well over 20 minutes to get my food. The staff was really kind once I did get to the window. I ordered the Western Burger Combo meal and as a whole I'd say the food was just ok. The patty itself is very thin and the mayo/BBQ mixture just wasn't great. I'd say leave the mayo off and only get the BBQ sauce the Western Burger. The onion rings on the burger were by far my favorite part of the meal! They were huge and fried to perfection. The portion size of the fries was very generous and I really enjoyed the crispness of them but someone put FAR too much salt on them. I had to wipe half of the fries off from all the salt on them! I'd say order your fries with no salt and add a bit of salt to it yourself. There are a few picnic tables outside with fly fans and that was a good add if you want to enjoy your food there. It is a very simple small building with a drive thru and a walk up window. Also Fry sauce is an extra charge. read more

After having been recommended Hawkins by several locals, I decided to make the drive out to see what it was all about. Safe to say, I was not disappointed at all! The drive-thru line went by fast considering how busy they were. The service was quick and friendly! They have limited seating but it seems like most people do take out or drive-thru. Hawkins has an extensive menu, ranging from burritos to burgers and a many different drinks. It is a bit on the pricey side as two burgers with drinks and fries ended up being over $20. The burgers were delicious! Their fry sauce was great too. I can see what the hype was about and how addicted some of the locals are to Hawkins. All in all, would recommend checking out this place! 2nd time we've been here to drive thru for breakfast burritos. Love how they incorporate the Potato into them! They had sausage and gravy the first time I ordered and the Bacon one I ordered was good. Wife ordered xtra cheese but didn't seem very cheesy? Hawkins Pac-Out was unexpectedly one of our favorite meals in Boise! We came as a small group visiting from Houston, TX to go snowboarding at Bogus Basin. After a long day snowboarding, we decided to give these burgers and shakes a shot. It just so happened that this place is directly across the street from where we rented our snowboards. This small little drive thru is right by a gas station so we weren't expecting much, but honestly the burgers, fries/tots, and shakes hit a home run to flavor town! The hot mama burger was my favorite bc the jalapenos gave it a small kick. Pair that burger with perfectly crispy tater tots, and a thiccc (w/ 3 c's) reese's peanut butter shake, and I was in heaven after snowboarding. Everything was absolutely phenomenal, so please go support this local business! Side note: Whoever took our order in the drive thru was hilarious! Her energy was so genuinely happy, and her positivity made our experience that much better. I would come again just bc of her drive thru service. This place has always been pretty good. I got the Morning Slammer breakfast burrito. Everything was cooked good. I could taste all the different ingredients. It wasn't all glopped together. The presentation was good. For the most part everything I've gotten here in the past has been good. Especially the shakes. I'm not sure about the fries though. Last time it seems like the quality wasn't there. Maybe they changed how they do the fries. Other than that, This place is pretty solid. read more

I went in to give them a second chance, because every restaurant has off days.... Today my husband and I went I had the Bleu Bacon burger again....all I can say is WOW!!!! It was amazing!!!! Nice and juicy I could actually see strips of perfectly cooked bacon, my meat patty hot fresh. My husband's burger was fresh and juicy. The french fries hit and fresh. My only complaint.... We go here often to get breakfast burritos or old fashioned hamburgers. My favorite burrito is the sausage gravy and my husband likes the morning heater. They are pretty tasty and made from scratch every day. My favorite burger is the bacon cheeseburger with either fries or tots on the side. I have tried a couple of the milkshakes and thought they were good too, only issue is they don't give you a lid for them lol. The staff are friendly every time I've been here. I drove past this place on my way to work everyday, I was very excited to try it. My boyfriend and I gave it a shot the other day and we weren't big fans of the food. The service was good, people were friendly. The food was very, very, very mediocre, if that. Burgers weren't very good and fries had no seasoning. Absolutely no gluten free options including no lettuce wraps or GF buns, they'll just put the burger on a bed of shredded lettuce. Didn't receive a fork or any kind of utensils in the bag to eat the burger-salad thing either. Sadly we didn't even end up finishing our food. The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because the shake we got was really good. Other than that, I wouldn't recommend this place. I have visited Boise twice this summer! Hawkins has been a stop multiple times! The breakfast burritos are phenomenal and so filling! The bacon is so crispy but chewy. The potato's are shaved and add a perfect touch. The salsa is the perfect touch (I like it on the side to pour on top). The chicken strips and fries are the perfect afternoon lunch meal! Although I personally didn't try the burger, it smelt and looked amazing! The spins are great, highly recommend as they are so refreshing with the perfect touch of soda pop and ice cream! I literally LOVE this place. I newly moved to the North End, and my little dude & I have been trying to try all the local burger joints. This one was his choice and I am so glad we tried it! We called in an order and they said it would be ready in about 10-15. Perfect! The Bleu Cheeseburger was FREAKING awesome. The bacon was crispy and well cooked just how I like it. My little dude had a normal cheeseburger and he devoured the whole thing! These burgers are big, messy, and topped with all the classic favorites. At the height of a global health pandemic we have been endeavoring to eat local and support our community when we can. The Pac-Out showed up to face this crisis like nothing we've encountered so far. As I pulled up to the speaker at the drive through I was greeted by a welcome announcement that explained they were taking extra precautions around sanitation between each car and while prepping food and to please allow for a little extra time to receive your order. Excellent. At the window everyone inside was clearly wearing gloves. They had a newly installed shield covering most of the window and a process in place to swipe my card contact free. After signing my receipt we watched as the pen and clip board were both wiped and sanitized for the next customer. Stellar. I've been going to PAC-Out since I was a little kid and still love it to this day. I typically get regular burger, cheeseburger, chicken strips, or finger steaks. They are all quite tasty. Especially if you're heading down from skiing at Bogus! With burgers I usually get fries, which come with fry sauce (the best!). The baskets typically come with fries and a piece of Texas toast which is a guilty pleasure! Their shakes are all quite good, along with their twist cones. They've also started offering breakfast burritos in the mornings and we've started to get those before heading up for skiing. I don't know how they do it, but they manage to keep the hash browns crispy inside the burrito. Not soggy, like most places. Let's talk about the strawberry/banana shake...I MEAN LET'S TALK ABOUT IT!! The employee said the strawberries were fresh, and you could tell! It's been 9 years since I've had PAC-out, and before that I've been eating here since it was called Red Steer. Moved back to Boise and had to try all my favorite spots. I've been sorely disappointed in almost every spot, ie Flying Pie and Guidos are trash now. NOT PAC OUT. I don't know what these 1 star reviewers are on, but don't listen to them -- they have no taste at all. PAC out is the same as it's always been, delicious. Maybe it's because I grew up on it, or maybe those 1 star reviewers are from California, or maybe it's that I came through on a Tuesday at 2:30PM, but you gotta try pac out. Always been a good place to get a burger, shake and some curly fries! Maybe I'm writing this out of hanger, but I'm quite dissatisfied. If you're going to allow your customers to make modifications to their meals, THEN please have your employees pay attention to the order mods. I ordered a plain regular burger with bacon and special sauce, in a meal with curly fries and Pepsi. What I got was, a burger with ONLY special sauce, no bacon. Special sauce wasn't even made properly, looks like they ran out of time and slapped a huge glob of mayonnaise, dab of relish and whatever else. I LOVE that special sauce, and boy did it gross me out with the amount of mayonnaise that I almost took a bite of. Oh, and instead of curly fries.. just old regular fries that hardly had any salt to add any flavor. Overall love Hawkins food, when it's prepared correctly. read more
