    Kids cheeseburger with extra pickles
    Dani S.

Big Bun has been around for a hot minute and I have yet to have a burger from this joint. Well, today's my lucky day! We stopped in for a quick lunch before we headed to Christmas activities. I love that they have huge photos of their food options at their drive thru and at the window. I'm a visual eater so food photos are the best! My husband got the Cafferty sandwich and I got a kids cheeseburger meal. It was nice to sit in the heated patio while our food was being prepared. As soon as it wa done they hollered our name over the intercom to let us know it was ready. My kid's burger was good! I asked for extra pickles and they gave me a good amount. The fries were fried golden. Crispy on the outside and nice and soft inside. The tater tots were nice and crunchy! I enjoyed them both with the fry sauce. I did unfortunately find hair in my food. As a hair stylist, finding hair can be gross but it doesn't gross me out as much compared to the next person. As my first outing there, this wasn't a good impression. Big Bun did buy the old Carl's Jr right down the road from me. It's been fun watching them make progress and change the old building. I am looking forward to having them in my area! Excited to see a local business grow and prosper in the valley.

Thanks for Messing up our order after my kids last meet. The stupid left side lane can't grow up to 2020 and my kid has to pay. I even asked him if we had two burgers and a fry . He said yes. Got home. Wrong Burger and they didn't include my kids burger. Had the fries and someone's poppers. I get stuff happens.. but not even close. For how slow the are you'd think they could get orders write. Tried to call them twice to just them know they messed up our order and it may reflect on others. he said he couldn't hear me and to call back.., did and and it was the same thing . Over it

Big Bun is a classic drive-in burger and shake restaurant with a history of serving up a range of homemade items, including original recipe finger steaks, fish and chips, corn dogs, and mozzarella sticks. Their menu also boasts over 55 milkshake flavors and six types of fresh fruit-squeezed daily lemonades. They pride themselves on their great customer service. Despite these offerings, my visit was quite underwhelming. The place itself is very spartan, with a rather mundane menu that left much to be desired. Touted as one of the best burger spots in Boise, I found it to be simply a run-of-the-mill burger joint. The highly praised burgers didn't stand out, and overall, the experience did not live up to the hype. I would still try it. You may think it is a hidden gem. For me it was just OK.

Another FANTASTIC meal. Delicious burgs, crispy, hot fresh fries and the tastiest fry sauce in the Valley. Oh, and the best Cherry Chip shake you'll ever find.

Finally went after living here for 5 years and the burgers did not disappoint! We decided to sit in the outdoor tent, so ordered at the window and had food in hand within 5 minutes. I love the simplicity and focus in good ingredients at Big Bun, which is good meat and a great bun. This place reminds me of Whataburger which is a HUGE compliment in my eyes. Fries were ok, nothing to write home about but I'd argue this place has the best burger in town. Gotta love a local place that people have been going to for 50ish years (I think?). Give it a try if you're in the burger mood, have heard their finger steaks and shakes are to die for!!

    Bacon Cheeseburger and fries.

I came here with my family. The wait wasn't too bad (about 5-10 minutes). I got the bacon cheeseburger and fries. It was so good! The cheese was perfectly melted and I like how they keep it simple on the toppings. The fry sauce and ketchup were great. I liked the bun for sure. It has sesame seeds but they weren't falling off like sand. The fries were great and you get a lot for a good size! (Medium) I tried the mozzarella sticks and they were good. A little bit too seasoned but overall 8/10. I will be coming here again. A little bummed how no bathroom was available but its all good.

As a Utah local, I always look forward to visiting Idaho--and stopping by Big Bun is a must! I ordered the #10 fish and chips basket, and it was absolutely delicious. Even though there was a small mix-up with my drink (they gave me a regular Coke instead of a Coke Zero), they quickly corrected it and let us keep both--great customer service! It was the busiest I've ever seen it, but the food was still on point. Their finger steaks are also a favorite of mine. Can't wait to come back next year!

After a great day of checking out a museum I had to have a butterscotch shake. My stepdad took me to this really cool drive-in place. It was cool and they had an 899 special for Thursday. That was a chicken sandwich at the spicy version and I had to get a side of tater tots. I found the service to be exceptionally nice, the shake was delicious and we didn't even have to wait more than five minutes to get our order something you don't find often these days. I found the food super delicious and I definitely coming back. I recommend the fries sauce. It must be an Idaho thing because I've never seen it before I came here and it's delicious. Every restaurant that has it. I find that stuff super addicting but perhaps to the staff and Crew the place was clean the service was quick and the food was the best I've had in a while.

We had just landed in Boise, and were looking for a good burger. Yelp suggested the Big Bun and it did not disappoint. Thank you for the customer service.

For apps I ordered cornbread and onion rings and let he tell you, you THINK you've seen onion rings before, yeah these are about 3x as thick! More than one "what the heck?" at that table! I used to live in Texas, been to Texas own BBQ of Mecca in Lockhart. I used to do the trip from Houston to Phoenix about 4x a year, a short 1200 mile trip... one way. I'd leave Houston at thee in the morning and would be standing at my favorite Lockhart BBQ place at six to order two pounds of brisket for. The rest of the drive, so I'm spoiled regarding brisket. This isn't Lockhart good, but it's not bad for Idaho. I think next time I'd get the Brisket Salad, someone in our party had it and looked haply. Mt wife had the brisket sandwich and it became both lunch and dinner for her... And I ate what was left. My brother in law had a Chicken Fried Steak that could feed a small village. Once I lose a few more pounds I may entertain a trip for it. The eternal question is, would I go back? At least twice for the salad and CFS! By the way, they get bonus points for having Shiner on tap! It ain't real Texas BBQ if they don't offer Shiner! The complimentary Key Lime Pie for my birthday just topped everything off!

Of course they had an extensive wine menu, but even though we were both underage there were many options for us. My girls strawberry lemonade was pretty tasty. We made a reservation, so we were seated pretty quickly. The folks were so nice, the ambiance was pretty chill, having dairy queen as a general date spot this was a wonderful treat for us both. We ordered an appetizer of cheese bread. I thought it was pretty good quality, a little high price, bur I expected that because it's a higher end restaurant. Our entree's took a bit of time, but it was to be expected the place wasn't empty. I think we waited somewhere between 15 to 30 minutes after we finished our bread. But when they came, it was worth the wait. I ordered a 14 oz new york strip. My family raises their own beef, so steak is nothing new to us. It was so good, I took a piece home to share with my family, and everyone agreed, it was fantastic. My girl had the rotisserie chicken, falling off the bone delicious, Colonel Sanders needs to step up his game. Another thing I can say, I find usually in high end restaurants I find myself still hungry afterwords, not here, I was completely satisfied with my meal. We ordered dessert, it was the vanilla bean something or other, don't eat fancy so I don't quite know these things. Here comes my only complaint, the sugar coating tasted a bit like burnt coffee, but was still delicious and we ate the whole thing. Before she brought it out, our server asked about the occasion. She took a picture of us with our dessert, which had writing in strawberry sauce, "happy anniversary". Like I said, we don't eat fancy often, especially because we feel unwelcome in many places with as young as we are (18 and 19), but this place made both me and my girl feel special, thank you land and ocean. The reason we went back the second time was because we remembered how good the food was and how nearby it was too. The second time the food was still really good, but the service was HORRENDOUS. Brittney was such a ***** to me and my parents, my mom especially. My mom was complimenting her and something about the food, and she straight up just walked away in the middle of my mom still talking. And no it wasn't busy. It was towards the end of the night, there was maybe 2-3 other customers there. She acted like we were bothering her the whole time. Then once she'd leave us would just stand up at the bar flirting with the other guy working there and just ignore anyone else. Then on top of all of that, my dad tells me she added $10 onto her tip! FRAUD!!! I've attached photos as evidence. My dad still tipped her even though she was so rude and disrespectful. But apparently that wasn't enough for her and added $10 onto the total. I cannot believe that. And my dad tells me it was difficult to get his $10 back after calling and talking to the manager. He didn't get the name of the manager but he said that they were just making excuses and saying oh but she's our best server. Obviously not! Saying things like oh she must've just been really busy. Again, we were there when it was dead and about to close soon, no it was not busy. It's almost as if this business does this type of thing often because there was no alarm from the manager, then finally after much deliberation decided to send back the $10. Absolutely ridiculous. No : "I'm so sorry here's a free meal on us", or atleast a "here's a coupon or gift card for next time you come in", nothing. This is the type of thing that gets people closed down.
