One of my favorite burger spots, hands down. Juicy, thick, and delicious burgers are what they specialize in. The 1lb & 2lb Big Jud Special Burger Challenge: Ever wanted to see if you could be on Man v Food, who took the challenge on for himself in the shows 2nd season. I firmly believe the Big Jud Special 1 lb or 2lb Burger Challenge is a necessary right of passage for anyone living in or visiting Boise. It is surprisingly and impressively tasty, even given the size of the patty and amount of toppings used. If you do have leftovers afterwards, you won't even mind. Worried about taking it all down? Bring a good friend.. or a few friends (lol) and take on the challenge together! The folks serving up the burgers are always super kind and attentive to their guests' needs. It's just a hamburger joint even though you can get a two pound burger. Pricey worst yet we charges 19 % gratuity for five of us including two children worst yet the server was offended I did not tip even more tipping in this country is ridiculous and these guys took it to a whole new level. there are other places just as good either more reasonable prices and not the ridiculous auto tip. Show me back to the city that I was born in is a special occasion for me. There's a lot of culture here in a lot of things that I get to love about my home city one of the things I love is the food and I love when I found a big Jud's. When very unique thing about Boise and Idaho altogether or something called fingersticks, you're absolutely delicious and their impossible to find anywhere else and I found a place that specializes in them and they also have one and 2 pound burger challenge... I provided photos, but I certainly was not man enough to take that challenge on today .my servers Emily and Kiesha were straight up awesome and had no problems making sure I understood the situation. I'm a native Boisean, so I've heard about this place for a long time but never actually gone in. Got my chance yesterday when my kids and I were in the area. Our go-to place for fast burgers is Westside Drive In, and I wanted to see how Big Jud's stacked up our favorite place. We got 2 finger steak baskets and a mushroom-bacon burger with fries, tots and onion rings. Service was friendly, the place was clean, and prices not bad (about $50 for three of us with drinks). The burger was really good and flavorful. The finger steaks were plentiful, but don't have as much meat at the ones at Westside. Still, they were good. The fries were great, and I really wish they had some malt vinegar, because that would have taken them to the next level. Overall, good, but not good enough to pull us away from Westside in the future. read more

So this was our first time visiting Big Jud's on Protest. Usually we dine at the Overland location in Meridian. With that said, in comparison, the atmosphere was pretty stale. No music. No tvs. Annoying customers being loud. Yet the food did not disappoint. It was "sit wherever you like" but no booths. Only half booth with chairs on the other side. Some cushions were damaged. Wow! Amazing service, they were super busy so there was a wait (to be expected) and they sat us quickly. Clean and diner environment. The burgers are INCREDIBLE and huge portions. It's a burger joint, with a catch. First catch, all the employees appear happy to be there and to see you. I wasn't sure if that was allowed anymore, maybe it is, or maybe they're just rebels. Whatever the case, I loved it. Second catch, they make good food at a reasonable price. Third catch, their outrageous eating challenge is just too much fun! Even if you're not even gonna consider gorging that 2lb monster with all the sides, there's always that chance someone else will be giving it a shot. My kids and I have loved this Big Judd's for along time, I went when I was a kid myself. Our favorite food place. I usually don't want to share about it because it's our favorite place. Phenomenal customer services, our little secret, however, I feel it deserves to be shared. It's that special. Please help keep it special. The food is always super delicious, their fry sauce we always want to take home with us, taste so yummy. It's near BSU, which is another one of our favorites. Parking is decent, however, the greedy builders keep trying to take over, so the parking lot is shrinking, still fairly decent. Their prices are reasonable for the good quality and quantity. Pepsi products, another one of our favorites. Their fries are big, not skimpy like the other places are getting ridiculously small skinny barely fries, not Big Judd's, they still give you excellent portions, and decent prices. For now, after my secret gets out, it will probably change our favorite place. However, I hope this will bring Big Judd's more business, to keep this local gem in our community for more generations to enjoy for along time. Are you hungry? Can you eat a GIANT portion? This is the spot for you! Big Jud's is aptly named as everything is BIG. It is situated in a college town and I bet it is a favorite of the college crowd. Huge portions, decent prices, ample seating. I had the steak fingers and tots and could barely make it through a fourth of the serving before giving up. Hubs had the burger which was impossibly huge and the kids had chicken strips and fries and grilled cheese and fries. None of us finished our plate and we were all stuffed.
