    OG burger
    Jessie B.

I am always on the lookout for a great burger and Sear+Savor's OG did not disappoint! Why do food trucks always do it better?! I loved the generous double patty that was cooked to perfection- super juicy and the cheddar & sauce brought it home. I also enjoyed the fries that have that thin cut so they're just "crispy enough" and highly recommend the smoky fry sauce. I happened to catch this truck in front of Cinder winery, but definitely look for them around town.

First Impression: great burger... hot, juicy, melty with a soft steamed bun. Shake shack style burger. 5 Really, really good burger and quick for a fancy burger from a truck. Amazing people. Second impression: too much onion for some... more like an Oklahoma onion burger. Great pickle. Gonna go again and get the BBQ burger and try the sides.

I am going to start off by stating that I know I am in the minority here, but the burger just wasn't for me. The menu was limited, which I understand (it's a food truck after all), but the burger had so much going on that I couldn't taste the flavors of the individual ingredients. I am a burger purist and like to keep it simple. If you want to be the best, I think you need to focus on the basics and not hide behind toppings. The service was fine: friendly and fast.

We hired Sear + Savor and to provide food for a yearly garden party in Eagle. They showed up in their mobile kitchen/food truck and got to work grilling the BEST burgers! They had great salads, delicious fries and wonderful attitudes! I highly recommend this family owned local business to anyone whether you see them at one of their locations like Barbarian Brewing in Garden City, a local festival, or a private party. Their mobile business is battery powered by Joule Case batteries (another Boise local business), and their food is powered by love, master craft, and attention to detail. The burgers come well put together and wrapped ready to eat. The fries are crispy and the fry sauce is the perfect blend. Thank you Sear + Savor helping to make our event a success!!

So we've seen smash pop up at a few places here or there the past few months. We finally happened to be at the same brewery as them one night so we snagged a single burger before we left. That burger got scarfed down so fast. Immediately we both looked at each in the car with the look of "holy heck!! That's a winner!!" We finally had time to search them out again, they were back at our favorite brewery. So we stopped for burgers and stayed for beer. Their burgers are the perfect ratio of beef to bun to condiments. Which is one of the reasons I don't order burgers at restaurants, it's 90% beef, if I wanted that I'd order a steak. So we appreciate the fact they're playing the perfect game of balance with their burgers. **pssst, secret time... come here*** They have a secret menu item called the P3. It's a burger with bacon and peanut butter. Trust us... it surprised the heck out of us. Anyways, back to the review. They're now our go to burger place, yes even since the "not so small burger joint opened up recently". Because their stuff puts them to shame easily. The family that runs it is extremely nice and friendly and we loved standing there chatting about stuff while we waited. Bummed that we can only give 5 stars. Easily best burger food truck in treasure valley.

Gluten free friendly! This was the best smashed combo of beef onions peppers potatoes... heavenly!

I was delighted to try this food truck at the Eagle Country Christmas (@ Heritage Park)... there was a few gluten free options... I can't recall what they called the smashed goodness I had... but it was clearly excellent quality ingredients, cooked perfectly... & on a rainy night... an extra satisfyingly warm meal... that really filled me without being too heavy. I will absolutely seek out this truck in the future. & extra shout out to the sweet servers in the truck too.

Atomic Pops uses high-quality ingredients, organic fruits and no artificial colors. On 9/7/19, I and MH tried the Key Lime Pie and a seasonal Peaches and Cream that uses Emmett peaches. Hands down, the Key Lime Pie was the best key lime flavored item I've ever had, including all of the key lime pies I've tried over the years. If you even think you might enjoy this flavor, you must give it a try. By comparison, the Peaches and Cream was less creamy and much more subtle in flavor. I love fresh peaches but unless you have a tree of your own, It is very difficult to find peaches that have not been picked before they are ripe. Peaches will continue to ripen once they have been picked, but the end result will never be as good as if they had been left on the tree to ripen. Given that, I think I am much more likely to enjoy Atomic Pop's other flavors. Atomic Pops also offers "Pup" sicles for $1 for your four-legged family members. Please note that although Atomic Pop's popsicles are $5 during Art in the Park, the are normally priced at $3.50 each. Atomic Pops does a great job of posting their schedule on the free app, StreetFoodFinder.I also encourage you to check out their Instagram page, which will give you a sense of all of the wonderful flavors that await you. Highly Recommended!!!

So of course we made new plans, made sure our schedules are were open so we can snag a meal after a round of coffee. Today was that day! I did check out the menu online the night before. I like to see what they have and what their menu entails. The red curry coconut noodles really caught by eye! Noodles, broth, curry!?! 3 of my favorite things in a bowl! So,I went to the food truck feeling 100% in my food choice. Well, the red curry noodles were not an option so I had to look over the menu again. Total bummer since I had my heart and stomach set on it. After reading the menu board over and over again and it was still early enough that ordering breakfast wasn't weird, I decided on the Croque madame. Grilled ham and cheese with an egg, it sounded good. My sandwich did not look like it came out of a food truck. It also doesn't look like it should be in a to go container. My sandwich was a work of art! The egg was cooked perfectly. The fondue sauce was snow white. The pieces of cilantro added a beautiful color to it and was nicely sprinkled all over. It was just too pretty to eat! This sandwich is messy so the fork and knife that was provided for me was used! The bread was very soft and fresh! It toasted and buttery. There was so much ham! It made the sandwich very hearty. The egg yolk was runny and jammy. The cheese fondue was rich and savory. The heirloom tomatoes added a nice freshness to the sandwich. All together it was a very thick sammy. All the flavors were fantastic but it did get overwhelming to eat after few bites. I enjoyed the fondue but it was a lot for me. The fondue is very rich and you add all the other elements and it gets to be too much. If I order this again, I'll probably order it without the fondue. There's already cheese in the sandwich so it was overwhelming with the cheese sauce added to it. My friend ordered the chipotle breakfast sandwich and it looked amazing. It was simple and it looked like something I would have really enjoyed vs what I had ordered. I did ask the gentleman in the food truck if they will have the curry noodles anytime soon. With the cold weather coming, they are anticipating the noodles too be back. I look forward to that! I haven't frequented many food trucks but this one has really set the bar high! The quality of the ingredients used were fantastic and fresh. The service was great. The food truck itself was pretty neat. The location is fun and chill. I know we will be back and I look forward to having that bowl of noodles. If not noodles then I'm sure I will be able to find something that will be delicious.

Kanak Express food truck, Sunday July 13th lunchtime at Green Acres Boise…read moreBeen awhile since I had visited Kanak Attack, the food truck started up in 2009 and the business model now includes a mobile group that supports fire fighter activities, as well as a permanent catering division at Lake Harbor with a restaurant. As with any food truck, some of the hardest part of finding them is knowing where to look. I've had the best luck by following Kanak on Instagram, but you can also look up Green Acres by Shoreline Drive on Pioneer street (new location) to see the multiple trucks scheduled that week. Another source I use a lot is the Treasure Valley Food Truck Finder (formerly Boise Food Trucks) on Facebook. Like most food trucks that feature proteins, the prices have jumped up in the last two-three years. A salad with protein is the best bet for bargain hunters at $10, or the three tacos (see menu photo) but I have found that getting the twenty dollar "Two Entree Plate Lunch" works out pretty good as it's usually enough for one meal immediately and another reheated in the microwave (rice) and air fryer (meat). The plate lunch includes a) choose a rice, b) choose a salad and c) choose a protein. My favorites are the Kalua Pig, which is smoky, shredded pork that is juicy, not overly fatty, but maybe to salty for some. I saved most of this and made enchiladas the next day at home. Teriyaki chicken is the same price, add a $1 for the Katsu Chicken which was juicy and crispy with the breaded fried exterior and includes a dipping sauce that's a little sweet and addictive, it's so good. Used to plain macaroni salad? Hawaiian style is a little different, but delicious and is usually the first side I finish. If you are a first timer, don't be afraid to ask for help figuring out what to order, the crew usually takes the time to answer questions and guide you. The menu is pretty well organized into sections.

We tried a mix of meats, and there was plenty to like. The pulled pork stood out as the best of the bunch--tender, flavorful, and exactly what you hope for from good BBQ. The spicy BBQ sauce was a highlight too: it's got a real kick--hot in a fun, nostalgic way, like a high school pool party where things get a little wild but in the best sense. The tri-tip was decent, though it leaned a bit young and could've benefited from a touch more time or seasoning to really shine. The chicken was cooked nicely--juicy and not overdone--but felt like it needed a little extra smoky pizzazz to stand out. On the plus side, the buns were excellent across the board, soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together without falling apart. Service was top-notch--friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. Overall, a really pleasant lunch spot with some strong offerings and a great atmosphere. I'd say it would absolutely earn a nod of approval from my  St. Louis BBQ grandpa and his crew from Wells-Goodfellow--satisfying, honest barbecue with a few standout bites and a good time to go with it.
