Visited the restaurant for lunch on a Wednesday. Dining room was about a quarter full. Service was friendly and nice. No issues with speed of service. Clean, nice decor. I've had takeout from here on many occasions and it's always good. Chose the pulled pork sandwich, Carolina style, which was delicious. Soft, good roll. Fresh coleslaw, and lots of pork. Great overall sandwich. My side of choice was the sweet potato fries. Decent portion and yummy, fried well, fries. Would repeat. Just next time with a beer :-) read more

Stopped in for a spring lunch and really enjoyed the laid-back vibe--sunny weather, cold beers, and a solid spread of sliders made for a great midday break. We tried a mix of meats, and there was plenty to like. The pulled pork stood out as the best of the bunch--tender, flavorful, and exactly what you hope for from good BBQ. The spicy BBQ sauce was a highlight too: it's got a real kick--hot in a fun, nostalgic way, like a high school pool party where things get a little wild but in the best sense. The tri-tip was decent, though it leaned a bit young and could've benefited from a touch more time or seasoning to really shine. The chicken was cooked nicely--juicy and not overdone--but felt like it needed a little extra smoky pizzazz to stand out. On the plus side, the buns were excellent across the board, soft but sturdy enough to hold everything together without falling apart. Service was top-notch--friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. Overall, a really pleasant lunch spot with some strong offerings and a great atmosphere. I am not the biggest fan of bbq. I really never liked the smokiness from the wood. But, my friend suggest this bbq joint for lunch today and swore by their wings. He has good taste in food so I trusted his suggestion and said "let's go!". I have driven by this place many times and it always intrigued me so it was cool that this place was suggested today. I was delighted at how cute this joint is! The pretty chandeliers. Our beautiful American flag represented. The cute wall art created by the young patrons that is displayed by the front door. It has a great country shabby look to it and I love it. I was sat at a booth while I waited for my friend to show up. I already knew what I was having for lunch but I breezed through the menu to see what other options they had. The ribs and tri tip will have to be ordered at my next visit, I was sold on the wings to change it to something else. My friend finally showed up. We got drinks started while he breezed over the menu real quick. He knew what he wanted, we were ready to eat! We ordered the large wings since he wanted them as an appetizer and I was planning on having the other half for my meal. I also got a side of beans and onion rings to go along with my wings. Ya.... their wings here are legit good! They are so flavorful. The exterior of the wing is slightly crispy. The coloring of these wings is a clear indication that they are going to be a flavor explosion. The chicken was tender and juicy. You can dip them babies in ranch or blue cheese and it's delicious. I was worried that my half wasn't going to be enough but it was! These wings are big. I'm ready for another round as I'm writing this! The onions rings were hot, fresh and golden. You get a few rings but it is a smaller portion. The baked beans were good but I probably won't order them again. It's cool I got to try them out. I'm happy that we came here today. We will start by saying that we love BBQ and are always looking for a great spot. The pulled pork 5 stars for sure- it was flavorful, the fresh baked bread it was on was amazing and my favorite part is it wasn't fatty. The fries were also great. We started with the potato skins, which honestly was just a small russet potato cut in half and then with added toppings- it was good, but not sure we would get it again. My son got the tri-tip sandwich, which looked great too, and he said it was good, but he did like the pulled pork better. We ordered a side of the Mac and cheese and baked beans- the Mac and cheese had good flavor (it is baked, so not super creamy if you prefer that style of Mac and cheese). The beans were not my personal favorite, I would say that flavor profile was more chili beans than traditional BBQ baked beans, but that could just be my preference. The sauce was good, and they also offer a spicy sauce if you prefer that, and the homemade ranch was great. The place itself is super cute, not very big, and I imagine they probably get packed often. We went on a Saturday and were able to get a table for the 3 of us right away, which was nice. Service was good- attentive and kind- she did a great job paying attention to refills and making sure everything was good. Overall a solid 4/5 and we would definitely go back. Absolutely fabulous food. Ribs were tender and perfectly seasoned. The coleslaw was stellar (and I'm picky). It was fresh and flavorful. Wait staff was warm, prompt, conscientious, thoughtful. I picked up a to go order late this afternoon for a three meat dinner plate. For the price I paid, it was not worth the money. The St. Louis style ribs were dry as a bone and the skin or top part was chewy like leather. Could not even finish the ribs. The tri-tip was overcooked and not tender And the garlic bread was limp and unimpressive. The sausage was OK. Cannot believe you guys are selling stuff like this for $40. First time going to Bodacious Pig BBQ and let me tell you it didn't disappoint at all food was amazing super delicious and fresh went with the RR RANCH SIGNATURE TRI-TIP SANDWICH "PIG STYLE" and let me tell you it's finger licking good added some spicy BBQ sauce and man oh man was it delicious. The service and ambiance of this restaurant is amazing our waitress/server was very attentive brought refills without us even asking for them which is a plus in my book we all left full and happy with our decision will definitely be heading back here to try more of their menu. read more

Enjoyed our 2nd & 3rd visit here in the last three weeks or so. Have yet to be disappointed. Brought local family members here and they too have revisited. The rustic, casual atmosphere is such a great place to take family & friends - the larger booth seating really lends itself to socializing while dining. The staff here are so nice and accomodating. The focus for my review today is on my own orders over these two most-recent visits. Both dishes commanded my full attention... again. 1. Pulled Pork Sandwich - Fourteen hour smoked pork shoulder, hand pulled & served with mouth watering molasses hogwash. I went with the Carolina-style coleslaw added on the sandwich (.75 more). Also for .75, I upgraded my side to the potato salad. Also optioned to add two (2) rib bones for $4. REVIEW: This sandwich was more than filling. Generous amounts of wonderfully smoked pulled pork -- left in the more-desirable bite-sized "chunks" - some places tend to obliterate the pulled pork into mush, but not here. The coleslaw added to the sandwich provided a great balance to the smoky pork. The dressing is very slightly sweet and the cabbage so fresh for crunch. Compliments this sandwich nicely. Despite the "wet" ingredients, the Gaston-branded sandwich buns held up just fine - I did not have to use cowardly utensils to enjoy everything. The two rib bone ($4) add ons were a good advertisement for ordering a half or full rack of the same on a future visit. I like that they are dry-rubbed (and served) with an option to add your own BBQ sauce at the table. The dry-rubbed product stands on it's own just fine however, and I enjoyed them as served. 2. Oink-Oink Burger - Freshly ground chuck, sirloin & Kobe blend, with cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce, tender pulled pork and creamy coleslaw, served on a freshly baked brioche bun (Gaston's). I stuck with the regular fries as my side, but once-again optioned $4 more to enjoy two of the rib bones. REVIEW: I can't remember having a burger quite this good in a long time. The "Calabrian Chile Burger" at Flatbread Neapolitan Pizzeria (now known as "Nick's Italian Ristorante", but essentially the same menu so far) was another favorite burger - but I think think I have been swayed over to this Oink Oink Burger. The meat blend used in this 1/2 lb patty provided so much flavor. The addition of pulled pork underneath the patty added that sublime smoky element - yet it was distinct - each protein stood on it's own. The coleslaw again added terrific balance to this protein pack. Savored every bite. Once again, the Gaston's produced brioche bun held up to this tremendous collection of ingredients. I had standard fries this time, but requested their Bodacious Fry Sauce (.50). In my opinion, the fry sauce here is the best I have had around town (although my search for more is eternal). I hasten to add that the 4 individuals (family) with whom I dined were also really happy with their meals. We will all definitely return for more! read more

I love a good bbq joint and this is no exception. The best parts of this experience were the sides and the homemade barbecue sauce (which you can buy at the store). The mac and cheese was some of the best I've had, so cheesy and delicious! I ordered the pulled pork plate, which was great value for the price! I stand by my previous two reviews - Bodacious serves some of the most underrated burgers in the entire Treasure Valley! Once again, I was blown away by how delicious and clean their food is. On a recent visit my husband and I re-ordered two burgers I've raved about in the past and also which remain my favorite burgers in the area: the stupendous Oink Oink Burger (ground brisket & sirloin blend, with cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce, tender pulled pork and creamy coleslaw, served on a freshly baked brioche bun, $14.99) and the almighty Brunch Burger (ground brisket & sirloin blend, with mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, 2 pieces of bacon, an egg over easy, topped with Lay's potato chips, served on a freshly baked brioche bun, $14.99). I'm sitting here drooling just thinking about these two sandwiches. I decided the mix things up a little bit and ordered a side a Max & Cheese instead of their amazing fries. Holy wowowowza. If I was reviewing this place exactly 1 year ago, it would be a solid 5 stars. I used to go here a few times a month. This place has really been going downhill lately and is very inconsistent. The pulled pork sandwich was very dry. My tri-tip sandwich was ordered pig style but had almost no onions on it compared to how they used to make it and not as much meat. I am so happy we came here yesterday! It was a little bit of a drive but well worth it. Located in old historic downtown Eagle Idaho. Walking up you can smell the smoke and flavors coming from the smokers. Inside smells just as good and even better. Very friendly service from the hostess to our waitress. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. For lunch I had the 2 meat combo with tri-tip, sausage, potato salad and fries. The meat was cooked absolutely perfect and had such great smoke flavor. The other star was the sausage you can tell is homemade and just a little bit of spice. The bbq sauce was amazing for dipping as well and pro tio ask for their spicy habanero sauce. It was so good! My son in law had the tri-tip sandwich and you could tell he loved his based on their wasn't even a crumb. My daughter also had the slider trio and said the same for flavors, spice and deliciousness. So glad we found another bbq spot in the Treasure Valley because this area is starved for great bbq spots. This will for sure be a new family favorite. BEWARE of the prices. I ordered a large take-out dinner while visiting family and was charged more than what was posted on their website. Paid for a whole chicken but only a half was bagged for me. I spoke to Ian at the take-out window and he insisted the bill was correct, it was not but needed the 2nd half of chicken so paid extra to get it. A charge was added for something called dip sauce (did not order) plus surcharge because I paid with my credit card. No info stated the surcharge. Picked the order up at exactly 6 as planned, drove 8 minutes home and the food was not hot just barely warm so it must have sat for a while waiting for pick up. Last issue was the lid on the beans was not secure and it leaked on my jacket which I showed Ian and he did replace the pint with a secure lid. My order was for a full rack of ribs, 1 lb. pork, 2 lbs. of beef brisket, 1 chicken, 2 orders of fries (very small), 2 pints beans, 2 pints of mac & cheese plus garlic bread. Feeding family plus 3 Grandsons somwanted plenty. The meat, beans & mac were very good albeit not hot but the fries were limp and tasteless. Garlic bread so-so. I tried to clear up the $ issue at the counter with Ian to no avail but there were others waiting to get their orders & with a group waiting at home for dinner had to move on and let it go. Hands down, this is the best BBQ I've had in a long time. Moved here from Texas 2 years ago. I used to judge BBQ competitions in South Texas for a few years. This was spot on and would rank high on my score card. The ribs were perfect. They were meaty and were still moist. Sausage was perfect. Tri-tip was tender and moist. We both had the pulled porked sandwiches with regular fries and added the two ribs for $4. The ribs and sandwiches were delicious, especially with their spicy BBQ sauce. Classier than what you'd expect from a local BBQ menu. This place appears to have a menu similar to Dickeys with BBQ plates but expands with salads and other meals. I enjoyed my Cobb Salad but prefer the tri-tip my hubby ordered than the cold chicken that came on my salad. Hubs thought his tri-tip was too rare. Not sure if he could have ordered it more well done but I thought it was pretty good! Dining room is classy and cute but not too pretentious. You can definitely go casual here. Service was good. Yay! We finally got to try this place and it did not let us down!! We were greeted by Dag who was just sweet as can be. Once seated, Trenise was there within a minute to take our drink order. The place was pretty packed and everyone working there was working hard! Then came the food. I'll put it this way, ALL plates were clean at the end. I had the wedge with smoked chicken and a side of sweet potato fries. The salad with chicken filled me up, and the fries were perfectly crispy. The fry sauce has a nice little kick to it as well. My dad and husband both ordered the 2 meat plates with ribs, chicken and tri tip. My dad demolished the ribs so I didn't try those, but I did get a bite of the tri tip and it was awesome. My mama really just wanted a BLT... they have a chicken BLT on the menu, and when my mom told Trenise she just wanted a BLT, Trenise said no problem and had the chicken come on the side which my mama really enjoyed. Great portion sizes too! This is a cozy spot with a really western/rustic vibe and the whole staff is wonderful. Thank you again, Trenise and Dag for being so welcoming and great! I came in with my 80 year old parents on the 4th July at 345pm, not knowing this restaurant closed at 4p. While my dad walked on the patio with their Yorkie, I was busy helping my Mom with her walker trying to get into the restaurant. Once we reached the hostess, the young girl said you can sit on the patio but it's wet and we close at 4p. I then preceded to walk to the patio to where my dad was and it Was definitely wet. The biggest thing was the hostess did not offer to dry off or make a table for us. She simple was not opening the idea for us to sit there because she was 15 minutes to closing. By the way, it takes hours before I can get my parents out of the house and this Is how we are greeted so I was super bummed! We have never tried Bodacious Pig, but I knew Rib Shack was 2 minutes away and could still get barbecue food. Shame on Bodacious Pig for treating potential customers that way. Amazing bbq and friendly staff! Remember that bbq takes a while so be patient. Pulled pork was nice and juicy, ribs were meaty and smoky. Kids loved the garlic bread too. Tri tip sandwich (pig style!) had tender juicy tri tip. The spicy bbq sauce is a MUST and we bought a bottle to bring home. Kids liked the crayons and paper to add to the art wall in the front, almost as much as they liked chanting "boDAcious PIG!" over and over. It's a memorable name for sure. read more

When you walk in the front door of this fine establishment, your mouth immediately starts watering from the amazing smells within. We stopped in on a Friday afternoon for lunch and there was a minimal wait. We were seated fairly quickly by a warm and welcoming waitress. I had the tri-tip sandwich with a side of mac and cheese and I am so glad I chose that! The tri-tip was tender and flavorful on its own, once you add some of that AMAZING Bodacious Pig bbq sauce it is as close to meaty perfection as you can get.
