    Poutine fries with brisket.

If you're in downtown Caldwell DO NOT SKIP THIS PLACE!!! The brisket was so soft and the flavors were spot on. The wings and the bbq sauce were epic. And the burger meat my husband said was probably one of the most delicious burgers he's ever had. Everyone from the hosts to our rad server TY who was super cool so sweet and funny with insights on how to order stuff. To the raddest cook miss whiskey that I've ever chatted it up with at a restaurant Eva. What I'm trying to say is. Everything on the menu is delicious but our big family of 7 had the best time there because your team was absolutely awesome. Oh and their Apple cider!!!! Fresh and delicious!! Thank you guys we'll definitely be back!

Stick with the brisket and potato options! In fact just get the big grilled cheese and add brisket. Best thing on the menu! This place has tons of potential to grow and just needs to perfect a couple things (the smoked turkey was less than stellar but my own recipe is damn near perfect so it's hard to top). Will definitely come back.

This place is unassuming and tucked away in the Indian Creek Plaza. On first look it appears to be a hole in the wall place, though once you walk in and turn the corner, it has limited inside seating, bar and a substantial patio area. The insides are dark but a cool vibe. Service was extremely friendly, loved the positive, happy care. Ordered a beer on tap, called "killer bees" to keep on brand with a Halloween theme. Small mason jar for the price but fresh and a great compliment to the meal. Ordered the pulled pork sandwich with slaw, pickled red onions and a side of fries. Pork was incredibly tender and the portion was on the larger side which was appreciated. Slaw was a nice compliment, creamy and perfectly partnered with the pork, but the onions were oddly tangy to the point of skewing the other flavor profiles. Fries are almost like large scoops which is fun and different. Downside is the upcharge for using a credit card. Receipt was super confusing with the food and tax coming to a correct total, then a cheaper cash price which is less than food and tax. Loved the service and food was good! Would visit if in the area again.

Once again the food at Chop Shop BBQ was absolutely amazing. The brisket Sandwich was so good. It had big thick pieces of meat and their in house made coleslaw! The Creek Fries add to the meal and make it terrific. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming.

I have eaten barbecue in virtually every state known for it, especially the south where I am from, so I am somewhat of a snob. I must admit I flinched (twice!) when I saw the cost of one brisket sandwich and a side at "Chop Shop" at Indian Creek Plaza in Caldwell, but I am willing to try most everything at least once. I felt it was a pretty good sandwich, though smaller than I expected for the price. That said, did it rate among the best brisket sandwiches I ever had? No; I have been to Texas. Was it worth $15.50? Also, no. I have been to Texas. But, I will cut them some slack, though, because: 1- It's in downtown Caldwell, Idaho, so "overhead." 2- They are doing that whole "hippie thing." You know, "locally sourced, farm-to-table, organic environmentally conscious" stuff, so more $$$. 3- They have a decent beer selection. 4- The people were nice and the service was great. The Coleslaw wasn't bad. I will very probably eat here again, but it's too expensive for what it is for me to make it a habit. That said, by 7 pm on a random Wednesday in August, every seat in the tiny little place was taken, so it is locally popular. The negative reviews about the place being dirty and the trays being unwashed did not prove to be true in my experience. I found the place clean and the tray I had was spotless. If you're looking for a real "barbecue joint," there are some better options in the valley, but if you're looking for a nice place in Caldwell to have a decent brisket sandwich and a draft beer, this place is for you. I have eaten better barbecue cooked on the roadside in a grill made from a cut-out 55-gallon oil drum, but I ate it while sitting on an unstable picnic table outside in the Texas heat, drinking Coke out of a Styrofoam cup. The 3-star rating is simply due to the stuff being overpriced in my opinion. It's like the owner is trying to do fusion "barbecue" and "fine dining." It works, for what it is, and where you eat it. We got to eat tonight sitting at a bar, indoors, in air conditioning with 90F temps outside, with a pretty, tattooed 20-something bartender gal chatting us up, rather than outside in Texas heat with some octogenarian Southern dude just slapping the food on a paper plate while grunting at us, so.... Also...no more fried okra? Seriously?

It's good, but it's priced really high. It's bbq food anything over 100$ should not be served with plastic ware. We ate here and it felt like it was 11° in the entire building.

Let me start with the pros. The service was incredibly friendly. The food was delivered to our table still hot, which is a huge plus for me. The bacon on the loaded fries was absolutely delicious. The flavor of my prime rib dip sandwich itself was pretty good. Now for the cons. We ordered the loaded fries appetizer for $8 and were both surprised by how small the portion was. I knew the moment I saw the cup of au jus for my prime rib dip that it wasn't going to have much flavor, and I was right. It was more like basic beef broth straight from a can. Au jus is what makes a French dip so good but this just didn't cut it. My husband ordered a patty melt and after just a few bites, he had a strange look on his face. I asked him what was wrong and he said the taste and texture of the meat was unusual to him. I looked at it and took it bite myself and agreed. The only way to describe it is like the patty was made up of ground Slim Jim beef sticks or something like it. My husband didn't particularly care for it and he also felt like everything was over seasoned. When he questioned our server about what kind of meat was used in his sandwich, she couldn't explain what the difference was between his sandwich and what they use in their burgers, just that it was a different patty of some sort. Another con is that all of their salad dressings at their salad bar or in squeeze bottles. My dressing of choice is blue cheese, which doesn't squeeze well from a bottle when the chunks of cheese gets stuck in the nozzle. Not a big deal, but frustrating when you're trying to squeeze it onto your salad praying that it doesn't suddenly explode all over the place. Two sandwiches, one with a side salad substitution for fries, and a small plate of loaded fries and waters to drink was a $50 dinner. As I said at the beginning It wasn't a bad experience, it just wasn't great. For a $50 dinner it was just okay. But I would definitely give it five stars for the friendly service and the fact that the food was served hot.

The beef is pricey like all Biden-era goods&services so be prepared. You get a discount if you are an Elks member. The vegetables in the vegetarian omelette were hard and unseasoned and don:t get the hash browns crispy. But the corned beef hash fried light is excellent. Order an avocado with it; tastes great Their toast and jams are tasty or you can order a pancake with boisonberry syrup - excellent! The young lady that served us was friendly and accommodating but still learning. Ambience is from the past -1970s dining room. Prices are competitive inflated. But it's quiet and you can enjoy your company and eaves drop on everyone else, lol.

Wow, this pizza place is like California Pizza Kitchen on crack...tons of awesome pizza flavors,…read morefun sides and great service! Inside is homey and has a nice rustic, woodsy yet modern, edgy style. This isn't your average pizza joint...It's a special little nook of heaven. Ordered a medium cheese pizza with sausage, extremely twisted sticks, kickin' chicken (chicken marinated in a spicy ginger Thai sauce, peanuts, green onions, Swiss, Fontina, fresh cilantro, mozzarella, peanut sauce and shredded carrots) and a small baseline garden salad with ranch dressing. Baseline came out first and was a very generous size for a small. Every ingredient, the tomatoes, onions, lettuce, carrots and croutons were fresh and crafted to perfection. The ranch was a nice texture and flavor. Next came the Extreme Twisted Sticks, cheese sticks with marinara. Only downside is that the marinara was cold, but the twists were nicely baked with ooey-gooey cheese inside. Next came the pizzas. Each pizza had a nice thin-ish crust, crispy and nicely salted, with generous toppings on each slice. You can tell that the people who make these items care about what goes out to the customer. We loved our time there and even our friends from New York said that they loved this pizza...and that says a lot! We can't wait to go back.
