Cabo San Fresca
JoAnna D.

As someone exploring the local culinary scene, I was excited to try Spitfire Tacos + Tequila. The aesthetic is spot-on--modern decor with a lush, green feel and ample seating between the two patios and the interior. Drink & Appetizer: I started with the Cabo San Fresca. It's a sophisticated cocktail where the elderflower and mint really shine. For an app, I tried the Street Corn Name Desire. Note: it is served off the cob. Despite a few salty chips, it was a delicious starter. The Tacos: 1. Pollo Asado (GF): 5/5. This is a must-order. The chicken chicharrones add a great crunch, and the guacamole balances the heat beautifully. 2. Korean BBQ Pork Belly: 3/5. A very sweet/vinegar-forward profile. If you enjoy a sweeter taco, you'll like this, though it felt a bit heavy for me. 3. Baja Mahi Mahi: 1/5. Unfortunately, this was inedible. The breading was so greasy it masked the toppings, and the fish was quite chewy. Service Reflections: I arrived just after 3:00 PM (Happy Hour is 3-5 PM), but I wasn't given the HH menu or informed of the specials. I didn't realize the oversight until I saw the signage by the host stand at 4:01 PM. While my server Emily R. was pleasant, I was surprised the kitchen or service staff didn't address the untouched Mahi Mahi taco or offer the promotional pricing earlier. I'll likely return for the Pollo Asado and the atmosphere, but I hope to see more proactive service regarding Happy Hour and food quality checks next time.

Smash taco with government cheese? Pass

Tacos are on the menu tonight and the websites for Google and Yelp suggest Spitfire Tacos and Tequila have been recieving positive reviews. On a Saurday afternoon, the place was humming with people inside, outside and on the roof. A positive vibe was in the air. We got a seat at the bar and looked over a large menu. We started with the chips sprinkled with tajin seasoning and a delicious and savory salsa. The tacos looked intriguing, so we selected the alta California shrimp with tajin crema slaw, guacamole, cotija, pica da gallo and chipolte crema on a corn tortilla. I could not taste the shrimp as the slaw and all other ingredients overwhelmed the flavor. The smash burger taco contained ground beef, government cheese (does not sound appealing), dill pickles, lettuce and their special sauce. Again, you could only taste the cheese. I didn't love the tacos and found them both grossly over-powered by the condiments. Another bone to pick was the swarm of flies inside the restaurant. It was difficult in defending the food from the swarms of flies. Eating here again will not happen. Spitfire Tacos and Tequila has a good vibe, nice building, friendly staff but they first need to refine the taco profiles, so one can highlight the protein. Bug control is a close second!

Over a year later and it is time for an update. We have been here dozens of times and I am happy to say the early growing pains are long gone. The front of house runs smoothly, food comes out fast, and quality has been consistent. The tequila and mezcal selection is solid and something we look forward to every visit. The house chips dusted with Tajín and the trio of dips are always a must. Do not skip the queso. When the weather is nice, the outdoor seating shines. The new top level deck with its bar and lounge-style seating has become our favorite spot to hang out. If you are hungry for tacos and maybe a little tequila, Spitfire Tacos is the place to go. Oh, and the smashburger taco, I know it sounds weird, but if you like burgers must try!

Wow. What a let down after a year. Service was nice but the food was not good. My simple taco was literally inedible. It was extremely slathered in Tajin and I think adobo. I can handle spice but it was horrible and soooo tart. My poor grandson ordered a chicken soft taco and little squares of chicken with weirdly grated cold white cheese and that's it - in a soft tortilla. He said he didn't want it. I was really embarrassed to take the fam there. It used to be good. Won't go back.

Fun atmosphere in downtown Eagle! Tacos for all kinds from vegetarian to classic carnitas to smashburgers in tortillas. We couldn't choose so we ordered the wheel (one of each) which comes with a goblet of margarita (which was fantastic). They fence in the patio so they have high capacity year round. Small parking lot and street parking. The rooftop patio would be fun in the summer!

Grabbed a quick dinner here on Monday night. It was quick seating while still being a little busy. There's a large selection of drinks and a great menu selection as well. Both of the tacos I got were delicious and had amazing flavor.

Awesome drinks great food great customer service

This was my second time going there and I am so obsessed with their tajin dusted chips, truly life changing!!!! I was happy I got to try their Korean BBQ Pork Belly Tacos, you have to get them! I rarely eat pork belly outside of Asian dishes and i'm so glad I did - the taco was incredible. The pork belly was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the cucumbers were so fresh and added a lightness to the taco where it didn't feel heavy at all. First time Asian - Mexican fusion has actually tasted like a good fusion and not a bunch of random spices. I went on a Saturday so the ambience was louder but to be expected, I prefer less loud music however as mentioned, I know that's a consideration to have when going out to eat on a football Saturday. The service was very friendly as well.

This place is 100% undeniable FIRE! Every aspect of our meal (drinks, apps, food) was FLAWLESS! The service was spot on with speed, accuracy, and friendliness! Very comfortable and visually appealing restaurant. 5.0 across the board. Too good to not stop at this spot!

I unfortunately dont say this often, but if I could give this place a 6 star for their house margarita and flavor explosions in all their salsas I would!! Wow, blown away. Margarita is made from Scratch every time with house made lime mix. Guacamole is freshly made and the real deal. The entire staff is also very friendly and have cozy vibes! Definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for a good atmosphere and fresh eats.

Busy for a late Monday morning so that's a good sign. Waitress was pleasant and nice. Huge menu with a lot of options. Food was pretty good. Warm, fresh and good sized portions. No complaints. This was probably one of the best brunches we have had. We walked in. We decided to sit at the bar since our was the two of us, we doesn't need to use us a table. We weren't really greeted. We asked the gal behind the bar if we can there. She simply said yes and walked off. Another gentleman dropped off menus and didn't say much to us. Honestly, it wasn't the best start. I thought we were going to have soothe questionable visit again. Griffin greeted us with a great smile. He asked us what our drink orders were. I asked for coffee. I couldn't remember if they had flavored creamer here. Griffin said they didn't have any but he was kind and got me a side of vanilla syrup. He is the first server to give me an option and to do something simple like this. I knew we were in great hands with Griffin. Drinks were dropped off, orders were taken and we just chilled. Food was dropped off after a bit and man did everything look grand! My husband got the Rosie's French toast combo and I got the 2 eggs with bacon. My breakfast was great. The eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. I love that the English muffin as a little overly toasted but still soft in the middle. My husband's French toast was killer. It was a croissant that was made into French toast. It was also coated in cinnamon and powdered sugar. It was soooooo good! I had a couple bites and it was hard not to ask for more. Griffin was the highlight of our brunch. He made sure my coffee cup was filled. He checked up on us and just was kind from beginning to end. He ended our visit with asking us if we wanted any drinks to go. If I wasn't on a fluid restriction I probably would have gotten something. I have never had a server at any of these locations ask me that before. This visit was great and I can't wait to come back. And if you do come at eat here, make sure you have Griffin take care of you.

It has a very local, community feel that's getting harder to find. The coffee itself is fine -- not terrible, not "drive across town for it" amazing either. I usually just get the unlimited refill cup and drink from one of their mugs while I work for a bit. Where this place really shines is the baked goods and breakfast food. You can smell everything being made from their little kitchen, and it feels genuinely homemade in a way most coffee shops don't anymore. Their molasses cookies are somehow available year-round and I'm not exaggerating when I say if they're sold out, my day takes a turn. The quiche Lorraine is also legitimately excellent with a buttery crust, and they usually have a surprisingly good variety of gluten-free baked goods too. One thing I oddly appreciate: no music and no giant café chaos. Also no plugs, so this isn't the place to camp for 6 hours on a laptop. But if I need a quiet spot to answer emails or get 1-1.5 hours of work done without distraction, this is actually one of my favorite places to go.

Good luck finishing it. I had corned beef hash unlike any I've ever had. The corned beef as in thin strips with no fat and all taste and fresh. The pancake will most assuredly will be the biggest you've ever seen. It's fluffy and done just right! We went on a Friday. It appeared the place had more tables available around the lunch hour. Not very often where you eat somewhere and don't find something that falls short or disappoints you. Well nothing but KUDOS! For this place. Yelp hasn't failed me yet! The first thing was walking in the door there were two hostess who smiled and greeted me. We were seated at the bar since there were just two of us. I ordered the Crave burger with bacon and my guest ordered the house salad with tortilla soup. Everything was excellent! The burger was juicy, flavorful, the bacon was perfectly crispy, Smokey and the white cheddar cheese was the perfect compliment! Now let's talk about the bun, I typically don't eat burger buns but this one was the exception to the rule. It was homemade obviously, buttery, light, and toasted to perfection. I ate both of them! Hahahaha! I felt so dirty typing that the French fries were crispy, just the right amount of salty and fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside. My guest agrees with everything in this review. The house salad was fresh, the vinaigrette was homemade and delicious and the tortilla soup was even great! The ambience was a place you could have a business meeting or take your significant other on a date night. There is literally something for everyone on their crave-able menu ( see what I did there?)
