5 stars for being dog friendly. They brought two water bowels to our table on the patio for our pups. Their patio is also on the shade said of the building so it was cool for dinner. Nice water feature next to the patio too. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Cocktail list is ok, nothing too fancy. Decent beer selection and wine list looked extensive. Salmon was hot and cooked well. Sauce was delicious. Had to try the "crispy fries" and they were good. Chicken sandwich was decent, nothing to write home about. Brussels sprouts were good. This review is only for the lounge side; I did not visit or see the restaurant. The lounge has a nice, homey feel with warm wood tones, pool tables, plenty of seating and friendly service. Obviously you seat yourself. I was surprised to see it pretty empty for a Wednesday night, but it worked out to our favor since we had a large party of 20+ people. Happy hour prices and specials are not posted anywhere that I could find, but the bartenders happily listed them off (I can't recall them, but there's deals on beer, wine and well drinks only). I had a Blue moon on tap, with a glorious orange wedge. The beer was perfectly poured and had excellent flavor. I wasn't in the mood for the lounge fare, but luckily you can order from the full restaurant menu from the lounge. My friend and I opted to split the Signature Barrel burger.with cheddar cheese, bacon, brown mustard, onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a patty that is grilled to your liking (medium). We asked for a plate to split the burger ourselves, but the bartender was nice enough to put in the order as a split order without an additional charge. Our burger and fries were split and served on two different plates, which was greatly appreciated. The burger had a nice flavor though a tad under seasoned and a notch more than medium-didn't blow my socks off, but it's a solid burger. The fries were the star, as they were crunchy, yet pillowy soft inside, covered in a lovely batter. I wouldn't mind going again and trying out the restaurant side, it was a nice visit to the lounge. They only had one bartender for a large crowd and she hustled really hard to keep everyone happy...I just felt bad that she didn't have much help. read more

haven't been here in years because my last experience was bad, but friends with a dog want to go since dogs are allowed. This restaurant is divided into two sides, the lounge and the dining room, which are separated by the kitchen. There were seven of us and we sat in the lounge area and ordered dinner. I have to say that all seven of us were extremely disappointed in our meals. I ordered the salmon, stuffed mushrooms and a cup of clam chowder. The salmon was dry and had zero flavor and no presentation when delivered. It was literally a white plate with the fish and a little sauce. Oh, and some onion and carrot shaving. No mashed potatoes, no veggies, just a small slab of fish. The stuffed mushrooms were undercooked and also lacked seasoning and flavor. The clam chowder wasn't any better. My wife ordered two tacos at $2.50 each, although the bill had one at $3.00. They were served on cheap store bought stale shells. The meat was horrible and there were hardly any toppings. Her chicken tortilla soup was a complete joke. It was a watered down broth, a couple of tomatoes and next to no chicken. I could go through everyone else's meal, but I think I've made my point. I don't like giving bad reviews on a restaurant, but I'm hoping the management will see this and make some needed changes before they run themselves out of business. We've eaten at Oak Barrel a few times and it's been I'm inconsistent but decent; around 3 stars. Tonight was terrible though. Chowder was bland, bread mealy and cold and entrees were overly rich. My wife's steak was ordered Medium Rare but served cooked through and gray in center. Roast potatoes super salty. Request for no butter on grilled shrimp was a challenge for server/kitchen. We had nice dinner a week ago. My 8 oz steak was very good and the Brussels sprouts also very good. The wine list is very short. They did not have several of the wines on the list. My husband ordered the steak med rare and shrimp. The shrimp were not that good and his steak was well done. The mushroom risotto was delicious. Our waitress said she would send over the owner but the chef came by instead. He was very kind. Gave us 1/2 off on my husband's meal and a free dessert. We really wanted to support this restaurant, so we came back with friends. I really don't what happened. My husband and I ordered the signature steak dinner med rare - made sure they understood we had a challenge last time. It took a long time. They brought both of our dinners out together. Mine was perfect and my husband's was vey well done. Our friends ordered the 8oz steak - rare. His came 20 minutes after the rest of our dinners arrived. Good thing we had 2 bottles of wine. Our friend's dinner finally arrived. It was not rare. Everyone was done eating and my husband's dinner had still not arrived. I told them just take it off the grill we need to go. So a little while later they gave it to us in a to go box. I did ask them to comp it. And after a while our waitress came back and had taken it off the bill. This restaurant has potential but they need some organizing. This dinner took 2 hours. One more thing they never brought the bread that came with our meal. We reserved a table for 13 weeks in advance, and upon arrival were ushered into a chilly room with a dirty tile carpet floor. We needed to rearrange the tables so that we were able to sit together. We asked the waitress for the room to be warmer and were advised that it was not possible.The tables were old and worn out, and the old chairs had stretchy red covers on which came off when sat on. The waitress was patient with us while we chatted but soon disapeared and we had to find her to place our orders. The food was tasty, but all of us who had soup, apart from one who ordered chowder found the soup to be luke warm. After a while, and I kid you not, many of us had runny noses it was so cold in there. I was rubbing my hands together to try and keep them warm. I don't understand why our reservation was accepted if there wasn't suitable accommodation for a larger party. I won't be going again, someone clearly couldn't care less. read more

I have gone to Oak Barrel multiple times, same with my husband and friends. We went the Saturday before Christmas and it was the busiest we've ever seen it, which was awesome! Atmosphere was good and welcoming, our server was nice but a bit absent-minded and had to come to our table multiple times to check that the order was correct. My drink was incredibly expensive with only two ingredients- versus some of their speciality cocktails had tons of things and were cheaper...bit odd but okay. Our (four of us) biggest issue was the food itself. The bruschetta was amazing and the meatballs were decent. My salmon was fine and friends' steaks met with their approval. My husband's steak, not so much. He asked for a rare to medium-rare steak - we got a medium to almost well done steak. He told our waitress and she said if he wanted they could redo it, but he was the last served. So he told her no, he didn't want to make the kitchen have to redo it (with how busy the night was) and make the rest of the table wait. Not entirely sure we will be back unfortunately. We stopped here for an early dinner on Saturday. The staff was friendly and welcoming on a chilly afternoon! We started with Pinot Noir which was excellent, and bread, which was pretty good. My husband loved the pork chop and the potatoes! I got the chicken and risotto. The chicken thigh was very good as was the risotto but unfortunately the chicken breast was pounded thin and was dry. Love this place! My husband and I took our two young children here on a whim last Saturday night after seeing they do Gluten Free options, but it was far better than we expected. Staff was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was pretty and the booth seats were comfortable. Our Server knew all of the gluten free options as well as other allergy information and was very patient and helpful to us as we questioned her about the menu trying to decide. They have gluten free pasta options, hamburgers bun options and gluten free marinaded steaks. Even gluten free options on the charcuterie appetizer. We all loved our meals. My husband and I arrived at 430 on 4/26/25, and requested that we not be seated at a tall table or a booth because my husband is a disabled vet and his knees won't allow him to sit in those table types. We told the staff doing the seating of the issue and asked for a low table (there were low tables in the bar area.and only two customers in the whole place) the seater declined to sit us there because those tables were for employees and turned us away. Something nice you may have missed. Oak Barrel of Eagle is an unassuming bar and restaurant. Everyone knows how difficult it is to put up Christmas lights when the peaks on your house are 50 feet tall with a 6 foot ladder. Jim, what's does this have to do with Oak Barrel? Good question. After my friend came over and helped me put 'em up rather than pay $400 dollars for some goof ball the hang my lights up for me. I told him I would take them to dinner for the help. So much a better deal, right? Anyway, we chose Oak Barrel of Eagle, and were not disappointed. It's a bit hidden from Downtown, and if your drive too fast on 44, you may miss it. We had a 7PM reservation and came early to also try the bar. In the bar, (different hours BTW) Barrel has a nice selection of beers on tap, and a good wine selection. The guys had a beer while the ladies took on some prettier drinks. That said, we had a nice time in the comfy leather seats, many TV's, and pleasant help while waiting for our table at 7. It was ready, but we wanted to do the bar first. At 7 we wandered through the hall over to the restaurant. It's a nice room with many booths, another small bar, and some tables. We were given a booth and had a spirited young waitress. We enjoyed giving her a little bit of a hard time as we sat down. A good sport was she, and she dished it back in good spirit. We were all laughing in short order. She went over the specials, which sounded good (Filet and Cajun shrimp), and the night's soup. We all went for a steak of some kind. Mine was the menu Filet, wife has the special, and friend had the New York cut. All very good. The menu Filet comes with a wine sauce and herbed butter and salad. All were just perfect. They also get top marks for glassware. I don't think you could have bad glass of wine in the wonderful glasses they serve you with. I had the house Cabernet, it was quite good and at a good price. The whole evening was a success. We all enjoyed our meals and the top notch service. Who can ask for more? You can! All you have to do is stop in. You will be pleased I'm sure. What a pleasant surprise! I stopped in at the Oak Barrel late afternoon. It was a cool oasis on a hot day. I tried their Paloma which was made with some fresh mint. It was delicious! Their Salmon Ciabatta Sandwich was also very tasty. The sandwich had a generous portion of nicely cooked salmon that was perfectly seasoned. I chose a side of fries that were also delicious. Anthony recommended the Guinness Chocolate Cake for dessert. The cake was not overly sweet and was served with vanilla ice cream. I couldn't have asked for better service. Anthony took great care of me - he checked back with me to ensure I was enjoying everything. Kudos to the Oak Barrel of Eagle for a great experience! read more

I do not like walking into the bar and see kids running around. Slow staff, food is hit or miss and never consistent. The owner is rude and does not take criticism well. There are plenty of amazing restaurants in the area to spend my money.
